In the realms of the paranormal… anything is possible! I was recommended the following 2 videos below to check out.
The Snake Man
What karma awaits you if you harm another living being? For this man he immediately saw the karmic effects when he killed and ate a snake. The video title says, “Hit a snake, eat a snake, turn into a snake“. He really did.
Unable to work or even venture outside, his family has no stable income and his children can’t go to school. Such is the extent of his ripening karma…
Thanks to Buddhist prayers, watch to see if his karma is successfully purified. This is just one of the many examples of the amazing power of prayer.

The Mountain Spirit
The next series of videos may hit quite close to home for my Malaysian friends. A woman becomes possessed by a Mountain Spirit. With no one else to turn to, she seeks help from a Taoist master.
The possession may be real or it may not be… but one thing is for sure, there are unseen beings and there are people who have the third eye who can perceive these beings.
Watch the videos below to judge for yourself…

Eating meat is bad moreover eating meat that not supposed to. The story of the snake man, tell us more of existing of karma. What we sowed, what we reap. When karma exhausted, obstacles will eventually follow by. In whatever causes happened, karma do exist. For the lady who get possessed by spirit or any entities could also probably related to her karma connected with them. Therefore, it won’t be possible she got possess that easily and the spirit refused to leave. The saddest part was the ritual for this poor spirit to leave was rather forceful and wrath.
Rinpoche had always reminded us to practice, kindness, compassion and generosity among all sentient beings. Whether these beings are human, animals or spirits, they also needed to be loved and blessed. Do not harm or hurt them because I believe their sufferings are more painful than human. Performing pujas are the best way to calm, ease their sufferings and blessed them. Besides, cultivating into Dharma practice may purify negativity of the body, speech and mind.
Dear Rinpoche, I have no idea why when people kill too many snakes, they will be cursed or haunted by snake spirit. But what about other animals? I’ve only heard about snake haunting people, I’ve never heard of animals such as crocodile, shark and etc. They are even fiercer than snakes. Rinpoche, does this mean that snake are the only animals that can haunt people after they are dead? Or maybe they are just like Nagas.
I believe the existence of karma and the karmic connection between 2 or more beings. Like all these cases, they are so many peoples in this world but why those spirits would disturb only the “selected” persons only? Cause karmic connection between them created from the past. On the other hand, the karma between them can be positive too. but in this case like showed in the videos here must be negative karma because they were both the people and spirits involved also suffer a lot.
I have this idea through learning from others that wild animals are beings better not to be played with. I have also heard of people who have third eye making comments that they can many spirits around wild animal butchers, and that these spirits will claim the lives of these butchers when the right time comes.
I do not know if this is a co-incidence or not, but truly this man needs to suffer so much pains after having done something which he thought to be minor.
But thanksfully with his regrets and prayers done by many others, he is cured within a short time span. This shows the power of buddhas and reminds us that we shouldn’t simply kill/play with beings thinking that everything will be fine.
I believe in karma and also the power of puja. However in the case of the snake man it could be a medical condition called scleroderma.
Scleroderma is a connective tissue disease that involves changes in the skin, blood vessels, muscles, and internal organs. It is a type of autoimmune disorder, a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue.
Causes, incidence, and risk factors
The cause of scleroderma is unknown. People with this condition have a buildup of a substance called collagen in the skin and other organs. This buildup leads to the symptoms of the disease.
The disease usually affects people 30 to 50 years old. Women get scleroderma more often than men do. Some people with scleroderma have a history of being around silica dust and polyvinyl chloride, but most do not.
Widespread scleroderma can occur with other autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus and polymyositis. In such cases, the disorder is referred to as mixed connective disease.
Symptoms
Some types of scleroderma affect only the skin, while others affect the whole body.
Localized scleroderma usually affects only the skin on the hands and face. It develops slowly, and rarely, if ever, spreads throughout the body or causes serious complications.
Systemic scleroderma, or sclerosis, may affect large areas of skin and organs such as the heart, lungs, or kidneys. There are two main types of systemic scleroderma: Limited disease (CREST syndrome) and diffuse disease.
Skin symptoms of scleroderma may include:
Fingers or toes that turn blue or white in response to hot and cold temperatures (See: Raynaud’s phenomenon)
Hair loss
Skin hardness
Skin that is abnormally dark or light
Skin thickening, stiffness, and tightness of fingers, hands, and forearm
Small white lumps beneath the skin, sometimes oozing a white substance that looks like toothpaste
Sores (ulcers) on the fingertips or toes
Tight and mask-like skin on the face
Below is another image of a patient with scleroderma.

In my opinion , he probably would get better if complied to medical treatment initially.
The repercussion of Karma is something not to beckon with, and in this case, if you do harm to something, it’ll come back to you. The snake man got his repercussion from killing and eating a snake.
For the mountain spirit possession, I can’t really make out what happened, but I kept hearing the sifu say “tipu, tipu”, (lies).. so the lady must’ve done something up in the mountains, like agitated a spirit or something and they wanted to take revenge back on her. It also seems as if when the sifu is “healing” her, he is channeling something as well, from his facial expression and the sounds that he is making. Also, he seems to be playing with a long, sharp object, when using it to “stab” the chest of the woman. I wonder what or who he is chanelling.
Anyways, something just struck me. I remember from one of Rinpoche’s blogpost about the interview with Marc Reed, Marc mentioned something he learned from Rinpoche is to show compassion and stay calm when facing a dangerous animal. He mentioned that many a times, when he did that, the danger will be averted. For example, the case when Rinpoche showed compassion to the dogs on the way to Turkey Swamp, the ferocious dogs will always let them pass through. I think the same applies, when you show compassion to other beings, be it animals or spirits, when they feel your compassion, they will not harm you for they know that you will not harm them. So in these cases, if the spirits weren’t harmed in the first place, maybe they wouldn’t have in turn harmed the man and woman, as shown in the video. I guess what you go through mirrors your actions, i.e. karma.
Dear Rinpoche, for the mountain spirit videos, the Taoist Master(sifu) says that will take the spirit as his student, and after the spirit ‘practice’ for a period of time, the sifu would ‘make'(i think in this case is take rebirth as) the spirit to become a human. Im just really wondered, how does the sifu ‘make’ the spirit to take rebirth as a human? hmm or maybe the sifu help the spirit to create a cause to become a human?
I found that the way they performed ‘exorcism’ was quite wrathful or even cruel to me. The spirit was in pain. I feel sorry for the spirit. I hope that this spirit could meet the Dharma and practice Dharma in all its life! May the bad spirit free from suffering. Although they are evil, but they have the chance to change also. Just like bad people in our society, they have the second chance also. Hope the sifu meet Dharma and practice Dharma as well. So that they wouldn’t create bad karma between spirit and himself. So that he has more compassion in his mind for not to harm the evil spirit.
有些事情你就是不得不信。我以前是无神论者,以为这些这是人云亦云什么的,学了佛之后,就相信那是因果。
Thank you, Bryan, for the explanation for people like me who cannot understand Mandarin. Even though the video gives glimpses of what it was all about, your explanation helps.
“Possession” is somewhat a supernatural experience in which ‘extraterrestrials’ taking control of the human body, resulting in uncontrollable behaviour changes of the possessed person. This concept of spiritual possesion exists in a few of the religious activities I have seen; such as the Taoism Nine Gods Festival, in Buddhism, christianity and last but not least, hinduism celebrations. Mostly, such spiritual possessions seemed involuntary, whereby the “possessed person” got no control over it, he/she will sing and danced according to the rythm/timing provided for in their mind and in the foreign language or tongue of the possessor. According to tradition, the possessed practioner had no knowledge or recollection over the “possession” and when the possessor leaves the body, the possessed person would feel very tired not knowing what has happened.
Karma exist… The first snake man video is really scary. We can see it clearly how a man losing his hair, and his skin become very dry and “scale-ing”. Nobody could explain why his body have such a big change, and even doctor couldn’t find out why… But all the weird syndromes getting better after he truly regret on what he did to others or the “snake” he ate.
He’s so lucky to meet this group Buddhist practitioners, with the blessing of the three Jewels, it actually blessed the spirit to let go or maybe a good rebirth. At the same time, they also request the three Jewels to bless the man.
He took a vow, the he will never kills, and deeply regret on what he have done. It was mentioned in video he went to various hospital but nothing seems help, but after 3 times long puja been done, everything become better, also the Buddhist group dedicate merits to the man for his illness to be heal, and of course they did a lot of fishes liberation for him too.
It’s one of the many story that tells us Karma exist. We might not believe, but it’s still exist.
Dear Rinpoche, thanks for sharing this video. It is very interesting. It would be great if someone could post here a detailed explanation of what happened to this woman that led to this entire ordeal.
