Question asked by Jeremy
Dear Rinpoche, just curious, if you don't mind me asking. What's the purpose of setting up so many ladrang? you have one in Nepal, one in Malaysia and now in Thailand. By setting up all this does it really bring benefit the people in the region? And does this means you will be a travelling lama in coming years? And what's happen to your ladrang in Malaysia? Will Kechara House in Malaysia still be your home sweet home? Please forgive me Rinpoche if I have put it in a unrespectful way.
Dear Jeremy,
Thanks for asking and caring…and don’t be concerned. Be happy. It’s all good news..it’s expansion. Kechara is also setting up in Shanghai (see blog post). Offer your prayers the expansion will benefit many as I plan.
My home sweet home will be in Malaysia as long as my friends in Malaysia work with me to grow. My stay depends on growth.
I appreciate your question and concern. Much care, Tsem Rinpoche
Actually it is very comon for Tibetan lamas to have more than one ladrang, some spreading all over the world, for example, His Eminence Lama Zopa Rinpoche has ladrang in Nepal (Solukhumbu), Australia, California etc just to name a few. There is also a high lama whose name I couldn’t recall for now who has ladrang in Tibet, South America, Italy etc. and all the places where the ladrang is, there are Dharma activities.
Whenever there is a lama, Dharma will grow and flourish, because a lama’s ladrang is not just a “hotel”, but it is the headquarter of the core Dharma activities, so from there, Dharma starts spreading.
Therefore it is actually very auspicious for the students to set up ladrang for their lamas in various places, because wherever the lama is, there is Dharma, so the more the better in fact.
I hope that answer your question, thank you.
