H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche is a recognised Tulku and an ordained monk in the great tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa.
With a Mongolian-Tibetan heritage, a childhood in Taiwan and America, and intensive study and meditation in Gaden Shartse Monastery, Rinpoche is one of the rare, precious teachers with the unique teaching ability to bridge East and West.
Based in South East Asia since 1992, Rinpoche’s teachings are based on logic and universal human values, free of the limitations of dogma, culture and individual background, and have led many to enter the sacred path of study, contemplation and meditation. Great benefit has been predicted for this region, including china, through his Dharma activities.
Renowned for his charitable works such as building schools, hospitals and providing assistance and food to the poor and underprivileged, Rinpoche’s organisation, Kechara, continues to bring benefit to the world through its many initiatives.
Over the years, I have regularly blogged about the type of environmental settings that I find to be the perfect place to live... Even the architectural style that would complement the environment. My "perfect environment" can be found in any country... I love towns which have a very low population, a few essential shops...
Dear friends, When I arrived in Howell, New Jersey back in 1972 as six year old boy going on seven, little did I know living ten minutes walk away was one of the greatest living masters from Tibet who was known then as Geshe Lobsang Tharchin and was a direct disciple of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche...
Dear Parents and friends, Years ago I conceptualized to have our young kids book a table and sell at the flea markets on a regular basis. I asked Ms. Sock Wan to be in charge and she has been doing this and the young folks have done a great job consistently. They rent a...
Dear friends, Here are nine special photos you must see, share and contemplate on. The old saying is true, one picture paints a thousand words. Maybe in this case, 10,000 words. Let me know what you feel about these pictures. They disturbed me enough to reproduce them here to create more awareness. May...
Tolerance is an interesting word. It denotes the object is at fault or difficult to deal with. Be it so in some cases as there is reality to contend with. If the subject changes the views, then the object although in certain circumstances are difficult, still the subject will not have to ‘tolerate’...
My father didn’t tell my mother the truth when she became pregnant with me, she was a young girl around 18, idealistic, in love, but she never knew my father had another family, when he broke the news to her, the news broke her heart, it damaged her, it shamed her, it brought the...
Dear friends, You will not regret taking 15 minutes from your day to see something so incredible, so touching, so inspirational and so moving. We often like to say we cannot do this and we cannot do that or just give up. We sometimes like to make excuses for everything we ‘can’t’ do...
Dear friends, I just completed watching an incredibly inspiring documentary on the hermit monks/nuns in Zhongnan Mountains of modern day China called “Amongst White Clouds” by Edward A. Burger – a 2005 film. Buddhism has been very strong for thousands of years in China and I thought perhaps during the Cultural Revolution coupled with the onslaught...
Regardless of whether a country is developed, developing or underdeveloped, there is always a demographic of people which falls below the poverty line. For example, in the United States, 1 in 5 children are at risk of hunger. Even in an economically-powerful country such as the US, there are over 15 million children who...
Dear students and friends, I have always admired His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for His great effort in promoting peace and compassion. Recently the news reported that H.H. the Dalai Lama will be leading the US Senate in a prayer. I thought that was beautiful, as we all know that the predominant religion...
Lately, I received many messages from my students back in Malaysia that they're engaging in either a personal or group retreat. I have previously emphasized how engaging in retreats is very important for our spiritual growth, and am very glad that many of my students are taking my advice to heart...
In business, the bigger the projects you handle, the more challenges you will face. Similarly, the bigger the projects you handle with the purpose of benefiting others, the bigger the obstacles you will face...
(By Tsem Rinpoche) Hatten Hotel in Melaka wishes to enhance their visitors experience by placing beautiful art pieces of Tibet in their lobbies. They feel having beautiful art pieces will enhance the visitors stay. You can see the beautiful Tara who is the energy of long life and wisdom gracing the lobby of this beautiful...
I would like to share with everyone about Terrance whom has worked in Burger King for 8 years, yet finds it so difficult to make ends meet for his 3 daughters and fiance.
I have always had a soft spot for animals. Especially if they are kept in captivity, animals should always be treated well and given a comfortable enclosure most similar to their natural environment. As these beings are unable to voice out the difficulties they are experiencing, it's important that we are more attentive and...
Recently, I came across an inspiring talk by Aimee Mullins on TedMed. Aimee Mullins is an American athlete, actress, and fashion model. When she was born, the delivery doctor informed her parents that she wouldn’t be able to walk or to lead an independent life… She was born with missing fibula bones, and had...
Many of my close students know that I admire Findhorn… a spiritual community, education centre and eco-village located in Scotland. It was founded in 1962 by 3 people (Eileen Caddy, Peter Caddy and Dorothy Maclean), and now they have a community of 400 people living there! Those within the community abide by their 3 founding principals: deep inner listening (and...
I have always had a deep sense of appreciation for beautiful, minimalistic designs and architecture, especially the ones that makes us feel closer to nature.
As society becomes increasingly more health conscious, many people count the number of calories in their food. Below is a fun pictorial example of what 200 calories look like for 35 different types of foods. Some of them only fill 10% of the plate… whereas some fill the entire plate AND is piled! Scroll...

Blog Chat Etiquette
These are some simple guidelines to make the blog chat room a positive, enjoyable and enlightening experience for everyone. Please note that as this is a chat room, we chat! Do not flood the chat room, or post without interacting with others.
Remember that these are real people you are chatting with. They may have different opinions to you and come from different cultures. Treat them as you would face to face, and respect their opinions, and they will treat you the same.
Be Patient
Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

I must thank my dharma blog team who are great assets to me, Kechara and growth of dharma in this wonderful region. I am honoured and thrilled to work with them. I really am. Maybe I don't say it enough to them, but I am saying it now. I APPRECIATE THESE GUYS VERY MUCH!
Dear everyone... This is a good condensed talk I gave on Guru Yoga of Tsongkapa. This is the one you should share with others when they are interested in a not too lengthy explanation. It is the perfect practice for everyone who wants simplicity yet effective blessings. You can share this with more people, it will be good.
