The First Cheltenham Paranormal Festival
On the first week of February this year, Cheltenham hosted a number of festivals and shows on different topics… horse racing, literature, science and music etc.
One of those was the ‘First Cheltenham Paranormal Festival’, whose organizers clearly wanted to promote any truth behind ghost stories in the outer area of Gloucester and Prestbury. In fact, they believe that Prestbury is the most haunted village in the whole UK… There must be some reason they believe it to be so!
A full program of events was arranged for visitors to the Cheltenham Paranormal Festival… magic shows, guided walks, horror movies… but the most extraordinary was the Ghost Hunt. A team of experienced ghost hunters joined the festival and hunted for ghosts all night long. They then presented their scary findings to the audience hehe.
The audience of the Festival’s many shows even had the opportunity to test their psychic powers (aka. “psychometry”), test their ability on reading minds etc.
The festival really catered to all… even the kids had their own program! Stories and songs about bad characters from movies and theatre plays, puppet theatre, body painting… these were all for the kids, but under the “horror” theme of the festival.

An extremely interesting house for ghost hunting in Cheltenham is the Ancient Ram Inn.
It is called by the locals as “The Most Haunted and Scary Place”. Reasons for this is that when the house was built, it was built over a 5,000 year old pagan burial ground. Initially the building served as a church only to later house children, workers and slaves…
Apparently, many child sacrifices, black magic rituals and suicides took place there. Many visitors of the house today will mention how they would hear spooky noises, smell odors and feel the sudden cold breeze.
This building is one of Britain’s National Treasure as, being built in 1145, it is the oldest building in Wotton-Under-Edge.
John Humphries, the owner of The Ram Inn house, explains that “eight people who have slept” in the Bishop’s Room, “have had to be exorcised”…
The organisers of the Cheltenham Paranormal Festival called visitors to write in their experiences before the opening on February 1st. Most people expressed a deep understanding on the intentions and will of the ghosts. They seemed to understand the reasons of the existence of spirits in that specific place.
Most of those who wrote in, also connected past actions (usually negative actions), with an energy that is now trapped… having to remain in the Ancient Ram Inn.
How is it that the people of Cheltenham are so familiar with ghosts??

Well I did not know that there is such a festival till I read this post. They call it Cheltenham Paranormal Festival where they promote any truth behind ghost stories in the particular area of Gloucester and Prestbury. Sound interesting and weird…..having magic shows, horror movie and ghost hunting. The village of Prestbury is said to be one of the most haunted villages in the UK. There are a whole heap of creepy goings-on as been told by ghost hunters and those who witnessed it. Stories like strange noises and footsteps were heard regularly, items simply disappear ,and so forth. This festival will give audience an opportunity to test their psychic powers.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this with videos.
Interesting..there is such festival for the most haunted village.Organisers of the first ever Cheltenham Paranormal Festival request people to share their ghost stories and show everybody how haunted the place is. Sound interesting and scary whereby a full program of events was arranged for visitors like magic shows, guided walks and horror movies. The organisers looking forward to hear from as many people as possible with brand new ghost stories and their experience from individual.
There is always a reasons of the existence of spirits which i do believee. Evidence of Devil worship and ritual sacrifice was found making it possible for their excisting. Many people believe that Ancient Ram Inn in Cheltenham is one of the most haunted buildings in England.Interesting stories been told from generations.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.
Dear Rinpoche, looks like there are 2 types of witches. One of them is called Wicca, they say they pray to mother earth and they don’t kill or sacrifice childrens and etc, like the ones on this blog post. And the second is the terrifying one, I don’t know what they pray to but their way of practicing is not good. I personally have the interest to study about Wicca but I do not wish to be a practitioner of Wicca.
