In this 4-part video, a family with a non-believer father is menaced by a poltergeist in their own home. He continues being a non-believer until one day when he’s home alone and he actually sees a dark figure and snapped a photo of it on his mobile phone. I guess you could say that he wasn’t a non-believer after that… hehe
After many havoc-wreaking events where the baby of the family goes missing, the son’s room and the attic gets trashed, etc… they decide to contact a local paranormal team in search of help.
Watch the video to see what the poltergeist does next…Quite interesting how paranormal phenomena is happening everyday and continuously even among the people who do not believe. So the paranormal is not narrowly only experienced by fanatical believers. Paranormal phenomena exists whether we accept or not. Accepting something only on the basis of seeing is illogical. There are many things in life we accept without seeing based on the fact others have seen it. So why not this?

This is spooky especially when you unintentionally invaded into house that been abandoned. In Chinese customs believes that deserted place, land or house need to be blessed before moving in or any work constructions starts, purpose to give respect or permission to those entities that been resided for long time.
In Buddhism, we are been taught to be kind and compassion to all sentient beings. These spirits are once human before and due to their unknown death and attachments that pin them down on that place. Therefore, performing pujas like land blessings, house blessings or make dedication to them will help them liberate their sufferings.
Sound scary when a family with a non-believer father is disturbed by a poltergeist in his home. He does not believed till he saw with his eyes and even took pictures of it. His dream home becomes a haunted house where as evil spirits rise up to possess the soul of an innocent child. It’s a scary story about the strange happenings in a family home. Not only that after unnerving experiencing a few occasion and his baby went missing for unexplained reason. He knew it is very serious and decided to ask a paranormal team for help.
Cultures all around the world believe in spirits or unseen beings or spirits. Most people who believe in ghosts do so because of some personal experience. As a Buddhist when we encounter such incident , what we can do for them is do prayers instead. For some of us could see and feel their existence, as they do no harm to us we might well leave them alone, do prayers and dedicate to them will be a wonderful choice. Over coming spirits ,by having compassion for them and do rituals or prayers for them to send them positive, good healing energy. We now have Kechara Puja house where we can engage them to do the pujas for them.
Good teachings thank you Rinpoche.
Growing up in Asian/Chinese culture, ghost and unseen beings have always been part of my beliefs. I have no doubt or insist to see to believe. It was only later when I started to watch haunting programmes from the West that I realise it was not the case.
Being a Buddhist, it further confirms the Asian/Chinese beliefs of the existence of these beings. In Buddhism, the Buddha has taught that there are 6 realms of existence that each and every one of us can take rebirth in: god realm, human realm, semi-god realm, animal realm, hungry ghost realm and hell realm (you may be interested to read about hell here https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/one-minute-story/the-journey-through-hell) This makes it possible for therapists to perform past lives’ regressions for people and have proven to be effective in many cases.
As we understand how we can take rebirth in the six realms, we should be very careful to not perform activities that will cause us to take rebirth there. This understanding also gives us the knowledge on the amount of sufferings beings have to endure when they take rebirth especially in the lower realms (animals, hungry ghost and hell). It is, therefore, necessary for us to practice kindness and compassion towards them instead of afraid of them.
A Poltergeist is born due to unresolved anger issues among many other negative emotions the mindstream carries. When these emotions are potent, they lead us to the lower realms and thus continue to hurt and create more negative imprints and karmas for us to further take rebirth and remain in the lower realms. Knowing this, at least for Buddhists, we should do all we can to guide them out of their situation. We can do perform a puja – an expression of our compassion for the being. In addition, you may do this simple yet extremely powerful method to protect yourself from spirits and malevolent beings in a compassionate way that Rinpoche has kindly shared https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/one-minute-story/a-simple-way-to-protect-yourself-from-spirits You may also like to consult one of the Kechara Pastors through https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/ask-the-pastors
Programmes like this open our mind to the suffering surrounding us. It may be a form of entertainment for some but for Rinpoche, it is definitely one of Rinpoche’s skilful ways to bring dharma and help to many.
Haunting story is not something new, it happens every day and every where. Some people can see the unseen beings, some can feel them. Some unseen beings are harmless, they just hang around in the area but don’t do anything. Some are angry spirits, they will make sure you know of their existence by creating disturbances like moving things around in the house.
For Buddhists, when we encounter with a negative entity, we don’t really chase it away but we do prayers to send compassion energy to them. This is to help them to release their anger so they can let go and take a better rebirth. When we do the prayers, we are also asking the Buddha to protect us from harm.
In general, we can do Dorje Shugden practice for protection. There are also some special prayers that we can do to protect us from spirit disturbances such as Singdoma, Dukkar or Dorje Shugden Trakze practice. Apart from doing the practice ourselves, we can also engage Kechara Puja house to do the pujas on our behalf.
Dear Rinpoche, I think the first story is more frightening than the second story. Because when we know that the spirit that have been living in our house is actually related to us then we wouldn’t feel that much fear anymore. But the spirit from the first story’s motivation is to harm them until the family leaves the house. Well, they are just like us human beings, some of them are nice and some are wrathful.
Dear Rinpoche, both of these stories are very scary. But I wouldn’t say that the spirits invaded their homes, I believe that the spirits lived in the houses before them. And they are very lucky that the spirits would willing to leave their homes. I hope every sentient beings will take a good rebirth so that they can practice Dharma.
