I have previously blogged about Nazca Lines before, when it was aired in one of the Ancient Alien videos.
Nazca Lines are large designs or images produced on the ground, usually on rocks or stones. They were created thousands of years ago in the Nazca Desert in Peru. Thousands of these patterns or images that were found were usually more than four metres in size, and could be of any shape and size. The lines are usually about 10-30cm deep in the ground. Oddly, they are usually images of animals.
Previously only found in Peru, now thousands more have been located in the Middle East! An article in the Daily Mail was out this month covering the story of these newly discovered Middle Eastern Nazca Lines!
These Nazca Lines, also known as geoglyphs, are also of all different shapes and sizes. However, most of them were shaped in what resembles wheels. What is more interesting is how they are thought to be older than the Nazca Lines found in Peru! So, why the late discovery? No one had known of its existence until recently, when an aerial photograph was taken… could there be more on Earth?
Have you ever wondered how Nazca Lines are made? How are they so perfectly shaped? Who made them? Some of the images have inch-perfect geometry and are so symmetrical it is unbelievable. If they were man-made, why spend so much time creating designs that are nonsensical to us?
If they are not man-made, who or what is behind its creation?
Science has not been able to explain the Nazca Lines phenomena. One theory explains how extra-terrestrial beings ascended to Earth and made these Nazca Lines as a form of communication. Either way, it sure does seem paranormal to me.
Do take a look at the article below… it is very, very interesting. Why do you think they were formed?

Riddle in the sands: Thousands of strange ‘Nazca Lines’ discovered in the Middle East

Peru’s Nazca Lines, the mysterious geoglyphs etched into the desert centuries ago by indigenous groups, are world famous – and now thousands of similar patterns have been found in the Middle East.
Satellite and aerial photography has revealed mysterious stone ‘wheels’ that are more numerous and older than the Nazca Lines in countries such as Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
The structures are thought to date back 2,000 years, but why they were built is baffling archaeologists and historians.
‘In Jordan alone we’ve got stone-built structures that are far more numerous than the Nazca Lines, far more extensive in the area that they cover, and far older,’ David Kennedy, a professor of classics and ancient history at the University of Western Australia, told Live Science.
He added: ‘People have probably walked over them, walked past them, for centuries, millennia, without having any clear idea what the shape was.’
The local Bedouin, a nomadic people found in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Egypt and Israel, call them the ‘works of the old men’.
They are often found on lava fields – but don’t fall into any pattern, according to Kennedy, whose research into them will be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal Of Archaeological Science.
He explains that they come in a huge variety of forms, some being ‘kites’, structures that funnelled animals, some being seemingly random meandering lines of stone and others being rectangular.
None are believed to be aligned with the stars, which has added to the mystery surrounding their purpose.
They were actually first discovered in 1927 by an RAF pilot called Lt. Percy Maitland, but it wasn’t until Professor Kennedy and his team began studying aerial and Google Earth photographs that their true extent was revealed.
A final count has yet to be completed, but Kennedy is certain they run into the thousands.

The Nazca Lines are a group of very large geoglyphs made in the soil of the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. Amazing they were created between 500 BC and AD . Drawings on the ground made by removing rocks and earth to create image in geometric patterns and distinct animal shapes . The landscape changes as lines take shape to form simple geometric designs such trapezoids, straight lines, rectangles, triangles, and so on. All these had inspired many theories over the years. These renowned Nasca line are subject of mystery for over 80 years. Scientists believe that the majority of lines were made by the Nasca people. Created by the ancient Nazca culture in South America, and depicting various plants, animals, and shapes. All these Nazca Lines can only be fully appreciated when viewed from the air given their massive size. They were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and are still a mystery to researchers.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
Wow! Thanks for the post. Never heard of it before. It is very interesting to learn about Nazca Lines, it is sure mysterious! What are they based on? How? What are they?
So eager to find out what they truly is and represents… exciting!
