This video was shot at Chin Swee temple. It’s about forty-five minutes drive away from Kuala Lumpur. This beautiful temple was built by the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong who was a devotee of Reverend Chin Swee.
In these beautiful moonlit and holy surroundings, I would like to share a supernatural incident that happened to me when I was fifteen years old. While I was hitch-hiking from New Jersey to L.A., I met an American-Indian guy. He told me about a spirit called Wenatchee who apparently resides on a particular mountain in Arizona. Wenatchee could foretell one’s future!
Being fascinated with Wenatchee, I got off the van and decided to head north in search for the mountain. What was weird was how the moment I got off the van, I couldn’t seem to hitch a ride again! I walked for half a day, exhausted and even walked through the pouring rain.
Slightly fed up, I made a prayer and said, “If I am supposed to meet Wenatchee, then I will get a ride towards the mountain. If I am not supposed to meet Wenatchee, turn around and head in the opposite direction, I will get a ride”.
Watch this video to find out what happened next, and to learn more about why we succeed or fail in certain efforts…

Addendum
Spirits have no definitive form and just like humans, some may be benevolent and some malicious. They are trapped by their negative karma, hence they exist as spirits for thousands of years. Only when their karma is exhausted can they then take a new rebirth into another existence. A malicious spirit can attach itself to us, causing interferences or harm, such as accidents, negative dreams and in some severe cases, even death.
Dorje Shugden’s practice, especially in the form of Trakze, is efficacious for overcoming negative and harmful energies. This practice also offers protection from negative speech, negative mantras, spells or charms, sudden deaths and fatal accidents. To learn more, please click here.

Revisit this post again …..interesting about this mysterious Wenatchee spirit. Wow… a kind and powerful spirit having the ability to foretell one’s future. Rinpoche personal experience in search of Wenatchee…..tells us more. Not everyone are so lucky to have Wenatchee.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing with us and explaining of how the Chin Swee Temple came to where it is now.
What I found fascinating was the weird experience Rinpoche had when on search of Wenatchee. I guessed it wasn’t meant for Rinpoche to meet this sacred entity as Rinpoche was still very young then and He was also guarded by protector on His spiritual journey. Thank Buddha Rinpoche give up the search, else don’t know how long need to tolerate. 🙏
Wow, this was such a mysterious story. Perhaps that wasn’t the right time to meet wenatchee. In a way, the connection must have been strong.
I was literally biting my nails in trepidation at the description of a teenage rinpoche getting off from the van. Even though he had already left home and was alone, the osho dude sounded like an okay person to travel with.
Interesting …..to light up our day, a journey meant for Rinpoche told. I have not heard of the spirit called Wenatchee, who could foretell one’s future in Arizona . After a half day walk Rinpoche was not able to hitch ride to where he wanted .Amazing …. The moment when Rinpoche turned around after a short prayers a kind soul came and gave a ride. Maybe the other direction not meant for Rinpoche and to LA was. Thank you that kind soul …could be the Wenatchee showing the way to Rinpoche.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this interesting search story of Wenatchee
Thank you for the interesting story. Perhaps you have met Wenatchee because Wenatchee is a kind spirit and didnt want you to detour and ensure that you are save to a dharma centre therefore can created the obstacles for moving towards the mountain
The american indian lady could have been an emanation of Wentachee to take you to where you need to go. If Wenatchee is a kind spirit and know what you are doing I am sure this spirit will protect you and lead you to your destination.

This is a very interesting story! I have never heard of something like Wenatchee before, i’m very amazed by it’s power which is the ability to foretell one’s future. I would have done the same thing if I were to meet that American- Indian guy, but I guess if one has the karma to see Wenatchee, he or she will see it. Thank You for sharing Rinpoche.
I believe that it is because that Wenatchee does not want to be discovered and Wenatchee is afraid that many things would be requested and he/she will be questioned that is why Wenatchee made the journey very difficult for Rinpoche when Rinpoche is seraching for Wenatchee
Dear Rinpoche, this story will be much more exciting and interesting if Rinpoche had met Wenatchee and I would know how does Wenatchee looked like. But Rinpoche was not so lucky. I wonder why the people who lives near the mountain where Wenatchee lived wouldn’t tell Rinpoche what they know about Wenatchee maybe is because they didn’t want to let other people know about Wenatchee and didn’t want Wenatchee to be used.
It is said that in the case of high lamas, their merits will always guide them on the right path to Dharma. And so it is in the case of Tsem Rinpoche, where he could not get a lift to see Wenatchee at all, no matter how long he waited to hitch a ride. But the minute he decided to change his destination, a friendly vehicle stopped to take him onwards on his journey to LA.
Best make our prayers to meet the dharma early in our next life!
I love listening and reading stories of spiritual masters.. and when Rinpoche tells the stories, it just comes to live! Thank you for such a well down video.
i like this story. I do believe that in nature speak to us lots of time.
I guess some things are meant not to be and some are meant to be. Thank you, Rinpoche, for sharing this interesting factual story amidst the beautiful scenes in the background.
In Rinpoche’s narration of the Wenatchee’s story, brings me back to his previous blog, “Huge statue of Luang Phor Thuad” in Thailand, where Rinpoche and his entourage had amazingly found that place by ‘chance of fate’ or by total accident. Rinpoche had actually wanted so much to share this with everyone. Whereas, in the incident of Wenatchee, inspite of Rinpochee’s keeness and fascination in wanting to meet him, and after going through thick and thin in search of him, still never was able to see or locate him. Karmic destiny is so amazing and powerful indeed – when karmic seed ripen, things automatically open up to reveal itself without difficulty. It is not something easy to describe or even to understand. It is said,” if the prerequisites and time is right, karma will ripen to its results!”
wow, what an interesting story of Rinpoche personal experience in search of Wenatchee. Thank You Rinpoche for the explanation of Ven Chin Swee history.
always learning from you Rinpoche.Thank you
You had your deities with you, and he saw. If this being has fore-sight he would have tried to prevent you. Look how Padmasmbhava tame the local deities. The spirit was scared for its way of life.
Hello,
Could the sacred mountain be the San Francisco Peaks?

Very nice story! thanks!
Firstly, this video is so nice. The story of Chin Swee master is so inspiring. I got to know Chin Swee master from this temple. Then along other temples, I also saw many images of this highly noble attained master which means this master traveled arount to spread teachings and using medicine to save many.
The story Wenatchee is so nice. It is like something unknown, but Rinpoche wanted to find out but conditions forced you to go go to another direction. Perhaps it is all destined. Some things are just so hard to explain. Where is Wenatchee now? How does Wenatchee look like? Only those who need him will see him.
bought back my memory of arizona and the yellowstone NP, and the Aspen in Colorado.
Such a great country USA that is.
Chee
But I think you did get your message from Wanatchee! Maybe he made sure you went back onto your path! MAybe, sometimes , when & if our fates/karmas are so clear-cut, the oracles don’t need to speak!
this is such a lovely story Rinpoche. .
especially about the monk, and also the story you tell, about what happened to you .
