When I Had No One Else…

When I Had No One Else…

(By Tsem Rinpoche) Dear friends, I was instructed by one of my teachers years ago to do a book on my biography. I didn’t want to do it. I thought that my life was nothing exceptional at all. My teacher insisted. I couldn’t  say “no” anymore although I am kind of embarrassed to talk...

Chenrezig Ngesung Kundrol | 普度三恶趣观音

Chenrezig Ngesung Kundrol | 普度三恶趣观音

(By Tsem Rinpoche) (译文请往下阅读) Dear everyone, students, members and friends, I have been thinking of this for quite a while, and from all aspects. An initiation whether it is lower tantra or higher tantra, specifically plants the seed of enlightenment in the disciple’s mind-stream, so that when they do their practice, hold on to their vows, and keep on to their samaya, it will actualize its seeds in this or future lives. Actualize means to obtain the qualities of the deity of which they are being initiated into. Therefore, I would say 99% of the ...

Dearest Rinpoche,  I have just tendered my resignation in my company yesterday and will be joining *eDiv in June after serving one month’s notice. My HR, bosses and colleagues are all shocked to learn about the news as I have been performing and doing well there.  Reading through Rinpoche’s SMS today, it really said out what I have in mind. I want to be part of something big and with good results. Since the meeting with Rinpoche early of the year, be full...

Wherever I stay this is what happens..

4 March 2011 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia As the symbol for compassion and enlightenment, Bodhi trees can be found in almost every Buddhist monastery. This is hardly a surprise given the energy generated by the monastic community’s ultimate goal – to practice undiscriminating compassion, and achieve enlightenment. Recently, Bodhi trees have been sprouting wherever His...

Avalokiteshvara, Turkey Swamp, Marc & Me | 观音菩萨、火鸡沼泽公园、马克和我

(By Tsem Rinpoche) (译文请往下阅读) November 9, 2010 Turkey Swamp was a large park with huge lake around 3 hours bicycle ride from my childhood home in New Jersey. If you went by car it’s around 45 mins or more. One of my relatives took me there once and I loved it as a kid. I asked my childhood friend Marc Reed to bicycle there with me. He was very agreeable. He is a very outdoor type of person, strong, energetic and game to try any physical activity. So off Marc and I went…it was a real LONG bike ride and physically gruelling 2-3 hours&#...

In my bedroom

Dear blog friends, For the longest time since I was a young child, I always visualized, imagined and wished I lived in a large cave in the mountains. This cave would be very spacious. At the entrance of the cave would be my kitchen with a wood burning stove or any stove. Then as...

Some random thoughts of mine..

The best thing we can do for others is when we see so much suffering and feel compassion for them and want to do something is: Be an excellent nun or a monk. If cannot, then next best thing, practice the 8 verses combined with Lord Tsongkapa’s practice and dedicate to them. If we...

When we get more then we will do more?

Mar 2, 2012
When we get more then we will do more?

We always pray for long life. When we get longer life, then we have more samsaric activities to engage in. We always pray for more money. When we get it, we have more things to buy, more places to visit, more dinners to go, more acquisitions to obtain. We always pray for...

Do you want to know why you make mistakes?

Do you want to know why you make mistakes?

This is a powerful picture… and it is the source of strength because if we just follow it, we will be different… I like quotes that make us think deeper, fight our own mind and gives us strength that comes from within. A strength that comes from knowing we are our own authors of...

Have you lost the chance?

Have you lost the chance?

Though we may have the collective karma to get something, physically if we do nothing much and watch our lives waste by comfortably, then the open window could close on us. Nothing is static. Nothing stays, so we have to always be ‘aggressive’, consistent and pro-active. ~Tsem Rinpoche Have you ever lost the chance...

I found this article very interesting… take a read. UPCOMING TOPICS FOR APRIL / 四月份讨论主题

Please come and join in the chat for a fun time and support. See you all there.

Blog Chat Etiquette

These are some simple guidelines to make the blog chat room a positive, enjoyable and enlightening experience for everyone. Please note that as this is a chat room, we chat! Do not flood the chat room, or post without interacting with others.

EXPAND
Be friendly

Remember that these are real people you are chatting with. They may have different opinions to you and come from different cultures. Treat them as you would face to face, and respect their opinions, and they will treat you the same.

Be Patient

Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

Be Relevant

This is the blog of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Please respect this space. We request that all participants here are respectful of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and his organisation, Kechara.

Be polite

Avoid the use of language or attitudes which may be offensive to others. If someone is disrespectful to you, ignore them instead of arguing with them.

Please be advised that anyone who contravenes these guidelines may be banned from the chatroom. Banning is at the complete discretion of the administrator of this blog. Should anyone wish to make an appeal or complaint about the behaviour of someone in the chatroom, please copy paste the relevant chat in an email to us at care@kechara.com and state the date and time of the respective conversation.

Please let this be a conducive space for discussions, both light and profound.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
