An Open Letter of Appeal to His Holiness the Dalai Lama (April 30, 2018)
To Your Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso Pelsangpo,
With folded hands, I sincerely and humbly request your compassionate attention.
Since the ban against Dorje Shugden practice began and became institutionalized within the Tibetan government in-exile’s charter, many Shugden followers have suffered greatly. We have endured segregation from our own people, are not allowed to attend your talks nor even be in your presence. The children of Shugden-following parents are shunned or expelled from Tibetan schools, while Shugden practitioners and families are cast out of the Tibetan refugee camps in India. We are prohibited from participating in Tibetan businesses, not even as patrons seeking basic provisions and food to feed our families. We face unnecessary difficulties when it comes to obtaining a Tibetan ID card (yellow passport) from your government in-exile, we are not allowed into Tibetan hospitals to receive urgently needed treatment and medicines, and good monks have even been driven out from their monasteries and forced to break sacred oaths they have sworn to uphold for their entire life.
These are just some of our sufferings. There are many others including mental and emotional torture which cannot be enumerated, that Shugden practitioners such as myself have had to endure since 1996, when Your Holiness and the Central Tibetan Administration announced the ban against Dorje Shugden practice. Since that time, many people have voiced their desperate appeal to Your Holiness to lift the ban on Dorje Shugden. It is not democratic or fair; instead, it is inhumane and takes away our basic rights and liberties as individuals. This is the opposite effect to the objective Your Holiness intended when you bestowed upon the Tibetan people the precious gift of democracy which is now unfortunately denied to Shugden people.
We are all Tibetans no matter what religion we practise, no matter which region (choga-sum) we hail from, or where we live today. We all love you and respect you but we have not been able to meet you since 1996 due to the ban and we miss you very much. I know I do. You said that if we continue to practise Dorje Shugden, then we may not attend your spiritual teachings or your secular talks or have any form of communion with you. As you are our leader, may I humbly say that all Tibetans should be allowed to attend your secular talks at the very least, regardless of our individual spiritual orientations. Understandably, due to the issues of spiritual samaya (spiritual bond), we may not attend your spiritual teachings. But surely there is no spiritual bond created or spiritual obligation to observe when a normal citizen of a country attends a secular talk by his leader?
Please, and with deep respect, I implore you not to segregate your Tibetan people further by their religious beliefs. No matter what religion we are, or even if we are atheists, please allow equality within Tibetan society to prevail and not have laws against Shugden practitioners any more. Please do not bar Shugden people from activities that are meant for all Tibetans. All leaders should allow their citizens to attend their talks, no matter their religion, background, race, sexual orientation, gender and so forth. All Tibetans should have the right and privilege to attend secular events with Your Holiness and to enjoy equality within Tibetan society. If there is no ban, as some like to say, I and thousands of other Shugden practitioners like myself would not be appealing to Your Holiness for more than two decades since the ban started.
Some claim that Dorje Shugden people are in collusion with China to create schism within Your Holiness’ circle and between Tibetans in India and Nepal. While that may be true for a small minority, it certainly cannot be true for all Dorje Shugden practitioners in the world, and it is definitely not true for myself. There are many Tibetans who may collude with governments around the world but this has nothing to do with Shugden practice, so please do not include all Shugden people into that group. I have never colluded with anyone to bring harm to Your Holiness, to any Tibetan or to any person. I am a Buddhist monk and I hold my Bodhisattva Vows seriously. I have never spoken negatively against Your Holiness. I have never protested against Your Holiness in public or in private. I have never lost my faith, hope and respect for Your Holiness. I am just waiting for the day that I may be granted the honour to attend Your Holiness’ talks and perhaps Your teachings. In fact, I have always wanted to receive the Kalachakra Tantra from Your Holiness ever since I was 15 years old. From the time of my youth, I have had deep faith in Your Holiness, and I continue to do so.
As Your Holiness knows, Dorje Shugden has been practised for over 400 years. It was first practised in the Sakya tradition. The Gelugpas then received it from the sacred Sakya lineage. We have been practising Dorje Shugden since it was passed to us by our gurus as a spiritual commitment and for no other reasons. I practise Dorje Shugden as it was passed to me by my root teacher His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and it was his instruction for me to practise. I keep up the practice of Dorje Shugden as my commitment to my root guru. If I give up my practice, then I break my commitment to my root guru. But if I continue to uphold my commitment to my root teacher then, by an unfortunate default, I am displeasing Your Holiness, it seems. I do not wish to displease Your Holiness but I must continue with my practice, as must tens of thousands of others, because it was commanded by our root gurus. We cannot break the spiritual commitments and promises we made to our root gurus. Your Holiness will be well aware of this sacred rule.
I am not practising Dorje Shugden to collude with China, and I will never practise Dorje Shugden or share his practice with others for any reason except spiritual ones. There may be philosophical debates as to whether Dorje Shugden is an enlightened being or a reliable object to depend on, but that should not affect Your Holiness’ decision to give us the freedom to practise our faith without discrimination, segregation and bias.
Some would like to say there is no ban against Dorje Shugden but Your Holiness’ words are very powerful. When Your Holiness, on many occasions, vigorously told people to choose between Yourself or Dorje Shugden, it had great impact and it forced people to choose. Naturally, those who choose Dorje Shugden are scorned, hated and maligned, and labeled as being your enemy, which is not true. For the last 20 years, Your Holiness has on many occasions and in many places told people that they should abandon the practice of Dorje Shugden. If they do not, then they cannot attend any of your discourses, whether spiritual or secular, which is very damaging. Because your word is law within the Tibetan communities. You don’t have to strictly and obviously say it is a ban, but you expressing your displeasure is as good as a ban. For those who choose to continue, we are segregated and humiliated for our religious choice and it should not be that way in a democracy. Your words are very powerful within Tibetan communities. A word of displeasure from you is as good as a ban. It may not be so with Western leaders, but this is how it is in our Tibetan society as Your Holiness is well aware of.
I have been attacked on social media for practising Dorje Shugden. Hundreds of innocent monks have been expelled from monasteries because of this issue. In 2009, even Al Jazeera, a renowned global media agency investigated and concluded that Dorje Shugden people are suffering in India, Nepal and all over the world. Al Jazeera highlighted this clearly in their news report. In this day and age, no one should be criticized or attacked on the basis of their religion. May I respectfully say, no leader whether spiritual or secular should discourage or criticize any religion or spiritual path because it divides people. All leaders should accept all people in the spirit of democracy, equality and fairness, and transcend differences in religion, race, gender, and so on. We need this type of democracy within the Tibetan communities of India. We need unity, harmony and tolerance in our small world which is already riddled with strife and many other harmful issues. Please allow all your people to practise or not practise whatever religion they like without being segregated.
We know you are doing your best for the Tibetan people and sometimes your decisions to benefit one group may hurt another unknowingly. The ban and segregation against Dorje Shugden people is hurting a sector of Tibetans including myself very much. Please understand this.
The world has changed dramatically and we have even seen the leaders of North and South Korea meet to mend their relationship. This happened just a couple of days ago, on April 27, 2018. No one could have imagined this happening in the past. This is big news for the Korean people of both the North and the South. I very much wish that they become friends again. Similarly, I am sure we can re-unify with you, if I may say so. North and South Korea have had massive hurdles to overcome for this historic meeting and I do not think the differences between Your Holiness and the Dorje Shugden followers are as big and therefore we can come together as one again.
We also see that, after decades of tense relations between India and China, His Excellency the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and His Excellency the President of China, Xi Jinping, are en route to mending their differences. Cold war, disharmony, mistrust and so on does not serve anyone well. For China and India to mend fences will take time. Previously, it was doubtful as to how this could come about, but it is happening. As China and India become friends, this will affect the world positively. News of people with differences coming together is definitely possible and has even become a matter of necessity. If such great leaders can mend ties after such huge differences with their magnanimous thinking, surely in your heart, you can see a clear way to transcend the differences that separate you and Dorje Shugden and mend fences with all his practitioners. We wish to re-unify with you. Please unite your people regardless of their spiritual orientation.
As recently as April 25, 2018, Your Holiness has indirectly acknowledged and recognised the China-backed Panchen Lama by saying that high lamas can have many simultaneous incarnations, citing Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo as an example. Your Holiness implied that there can be two Panchen Lamas and I understood the message which was subtle yet clear and profound. The Panchen Lama that Your Holiness recognised and the other Panchen Lama that China recognised can both be genuine incarnations of the holy 10th Panchen Lama. This is amazing news and it is Your Holiness’ great effort to reach out to mend fences with China. I was happy to hear your indirect recognition of the Chinese Panchen Lama as this may begin to create the necessary atmosphere for restorative dialogue between Your Holiness and China for the sake of all Tibetan people. Perhaps this may lead to your return to Tibet and China, to be in the Potala Palace as Your Holiness’ dream portends. I wish this for Your Holiness because You wish it to be so. I would like this to happen very much, as I know Your Holiness misses Tibet just as the Tibetan people, Shugden and non-Shugden practitioners alike, miss you very much.
Therefore, with folded hands and on bended knees, I request Your Holiness to remove all stigma, negative statements and negative references to Dorje Shugden from all official platforms and literature of the Central Tibetan Administration enshrined in Dharamsala in order that an end to the ban on Dorje Shugden may come about. I appeal to Your Holiness with utmost humility to unite all Tibetans regardless of their religious orientation. Please do not make us choose between Your Holiness and Dorje Shugden. We do not wish to choose and to be forced to lose one or the other. We should not be made to choose in a genuine democracy. Many of the old monks from Gaden Monastery died with a broken heart because they did not want to choose between Your Holiness and Dorje Shugden and we have observed this. For centuries, many generations within the Gelug lineage loved and worshipped both the Dalai Lamas and Dorje Shugden. We sincerely wish for it to continue this way. It is in your power to unify us again.
Please do something about this while there is still time. Please be our leader no matter what religion we practise. Please allow us to see you again and bask in the golden blessings of Yourself, our Yeshe Norbu (wish-fulfilling gem). Since so many world-changing events are occurring, I appeal to You with my body fully prostrated, to lift the ban against Dorje Shugden and remove all stigma against Dorje Shugden practitioners. To eradicate the negative books, recorded talks and information in your various official websites against Dorje Shugden and his followers. This would suit a democratic leader and government.
You are the extremely compassionate, glorious avatar of Avalokiteshvara. In Your wisdom and ocean-like compassion, please unite Your people. Please unite all of us no matter what religion we practise. I appeal to Your Holiness from the deepest part of my very being and request You not to be upset with my writing this letter as I do not wish to disturb Your holy mind. But you are the only person I can appeal to in this urgent matter.
Most humbly,
With folded hands,

Dear friends,
Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.
You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.
Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.
May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden
This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.
The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

COMPASSION at its best: His Holiness the Dalai Lama explained in Ladakh, 31 July 2018:
“Usually at the beginning of an empowerment there is a ritual to drive away interferences. But I no longer feel it’s consistent to regard some beings as evil forces. At the start of each day I cultivate altruism, but in the evening we say, ‘May the evil forces be driven away.’ There seems to be a contradiction here that I’m no longer keen to comply with. I’m not highly realized, but I have great confidence in the power of Bodhichitta.”

This latest statement by His Holiness the Dalai Lama is excellent. I fully believe in his compassion and I hope he will fully implement it.
All negative beings take rebirth with negative minds due to deep attachments. The attachments result in negative states of rebirth and angry minds that carry out harmful actions, like spirits or hungry ghosts who can be very bothersome because they are very angry as they died in the state of attachment in their former rebirths.
Indeed we need to generate compassion towards these beings, especially the formless type, as it would be the best remedy to stop their harm. We can recite mantras with love and bless them with it. While reciting prayers, we can meditate on them being at peace. When we generate compassion towards these harmful interferences of the formless type, many of them will calm down and stop their harm and even go away. Some of them, you can talk to them and subdue their harm and they will stop harming completely if they feel your love. That is how you can help them.
Many high masters of India and Tibet generated great compassion towards certain ghosts, spirits or interferers and subdued them in this manner and even made them into protectors of regions. I’ve witnessed this with one of my lamas where he subdued a female spirit that crossed over the Himalayas. After making the spirit promise it will not harm others, my lama gave the spirit a drink to seal the promise.
Since the Dalai Lama has manifested saying Dorje Shugden is negative (although many high lamas disagree), then he can apply this method to Dorje Shugden. He can ‘subdue’ Dorje Shugden by generating tremendous love, prayers and talking nice to Dorje Shugden who will be ‘subdued’. Then people are henceforth ‘free’ to practice Dorje Shugden without more discrimination, segregation and being called degrading names for practicing this protector.
Give peace a chance. His Holiness the Dalai Lama can generate great love towards Dorje Shugden and all the hundreds of thousands of Dorje Shugden practitioners that love the Dalai Lama and miss him like I do. May His Holiness the Dalai Lama bring peace and heal the rift with Dorje Shugden practitioners.
May His Holiness live very long and always be healthy,

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.
Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.
Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-
1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-
– Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
– Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
– Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
– Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
– Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.
2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.
3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.
4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.
5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.
6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.
7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.
These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama
Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.
After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.
The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.
His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.
Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.
Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.
The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

Dear Kecharians and friends,
Last night, I gave a teaching to a group of people who were in Kechara Forest Retreat. I shared with them the correct way to pray for our loved ones and why we shouldn’t “demand” Dorje Shugden with fulfilling our wishes but let Dorje Shugden decide what is the best outcome. He has infinite Manjushri wisdom beyond our own and we should trust this wisdom. Sometimes what we pray for is not what should be fulfilled. Sometimes what we don’t want turns out to be the better result in the future.
I also shared with them about a beautiful monk, Tsawa Pulthok Rinpoche, who was jailed and badly tortured by the soldiers for 19 years, starting back in 1959 in Lhasa, and yet he has no anger towards his torturers. He was released and had resettled in Nepal where I met him. For the remainder of his life, he spent his time in meditation, retreats and pujas for the public until he passed. He was glowing, happy and very proud of the fact he was a student of His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, which he told me when we met. He did full meditations on Vajra Yogini and short puja to Dorje Shugden daily in his small room in Kathmandu, Nepal where I had to honor to join in his prayers. He told me he was very happy to have his room to do his meditations, pujas and prayers openly. Whatever happened to him, he accepted as part of his karma and he spent much time in prison meditating and quietly teaching dharma to his other cellmates. He was very much respected in prison in Lhasa because he never showed anger, always meditated and consoled others, giving them great strength. He endured much hardship, torture and beatings but he never lost his monk vows. His full understanding of karma helped him not feel any anger or bitterness towards the soldiers. He told me that daily, he would meditate that the karma of others in prison would come to him. That all the torture and abuse he received was so others in prison did not have to suffer this. He said suffering for others was what kept him going and made him be able to endure the pain.
We are not bound by our experiences. We are bound by our choice. I also reminded those were present about the good person inside each and every one of us, and how we should not “bury” this good person with our excuses because the more excuses we give, the deeper this good person is buried and soon the layers of excuses will make it very difficult for us to find this good person. We are all beautiful good people and we should not let it get lost by lying, laziness, lack of integrity and procrastination. We all have a choice. If we have to make excuses, we should choose to make excuses to be a winner. When we win, we make ourselves happy and those around us happy.
The teaching session went well and it was spontaneous, and I requested the people who live and work in and around Kechara Forest Retreat for the talk. We had some good laughs to during the talk.
Thank you,
Tsem Rinpoche
‘If we trust in karma which exists, then there is no reason for anger’.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

Listening to the chanting of sacred words, melodies, mantras, sutras and prayers has a very powerful healing effect on our outer and inner environments. It clears the chakras, spiritual toxins, the paths where our ‘chi’ travels within our bodies for health as well as for clearing the mind. It is soothing and relaxing but at the same time invigorates us with positive energy. The sacred sounds invite positive beings to inhabit our environment, expels negative beings and brings the sound of growth to the land, animals, water and plants. Sacred chants bless all living beings on our land as well as inanimate objects. Do download and play while in traffic to relax, when you are about to sleep, during meditation, during stress or just anytime. Great to play for animals and children. Share with friends the blessing of a full Dorje Shugden puja performed at Kechara Forest Retreat by our puja department for the benefit of others. Tsem Rinpoche

Antique Pelden Lhamo thangka with sacred Dorje Shugden at the bottom right. Can see Tsongkapa and Guru Rinpoche on the top also. Beautiful and holy.
How can a nun curse someone they do not even know and wish the person to die quickly and be born in hell? What kind of nun is this? Shocking! What more she’s cursing a Buddhist teacher and a monk?! Is this the face of Bhutanese Buddhist?
This is so shameful for her as a nun, her teacher, her monastery, her country and her King. A sangha should not behave in such a manner. A Sangha should carry enlightened Buddha’s teachings of compassion and wisdom to benefit all sentient beings.
A Sangha is not supposed to promote hatred and certainly should not be cursing or wishing another person to die. That wish itself is already breaking one of the vows.
A Sangha is one of the 3 Jewels, an object of refuge. They should not behave like an uncivilized person with so much hate. This is how bad the Tibetan Leadership has spread their lies and hate about Dorje Shugden and Shugden Buddhist practitioners.
I’m new to all this – but I came here after seeing Rinpoche’s post on the Blog.
I don’t know too much nor do I claim to.
But, if you go to the basics – its just not a good idea to do things things that. Abuse, slander, malicious activities … Yikes. I don’t think any teachings say that. Or do they?
If you don’t agree with someone, just agree to disagree politely.
I mean, if you have difference of opinion (which you have the right to have) you can voice your concerns, discuss (peacefully) of course.
If you can’t – then just ignore.
This doesn’t just apply here – but everywhere. People who attack anyone in such a manner, just, please don’t. I mean, its only hurting you in the long run. Attacking someone who you know will not respond in kind just doesn’t makes sense. ?
Would you like it if someone to attacked you like that? How would you feel if someone wrote exactly what you wrote?
I worry about the world.
There isn’t a good, genuine reason or beneficial reason to carry on the ban to another year or any amount of time whatsoever. Enough people around the world have suffered the effects of the ban and all that it represents. We all appeal to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to end any stigma towards Dorje Shugden and all the high lamas who played a key role in the dissemination of teaching related to Tsongkhapa and also Dorje Shugden.
It is very touching to read a letter from a renowned monk to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, begging for unity and the lifting of an unlawful ban on Dorje Shugden people. His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche is humble and compassion. His plea is for / on behalf of all Dorje Shugden people; because this group of people have been suffering unjustly for the past 2 decades for reason as simply as practicing their choice of faith. May His Holiness receives the letter and initiate dialog / correspondence with Tsem Rinpoche to end this horrible ban that causes suffering on Dorje Shugden people. Thank you for this sharing.
Our Guru Tsem Rinpoche have been working tirelessly appealing to His Holiness the Dalai Lama requesting to solve the controversy ban on Dorje Shugden. Having done all with memes ,thoughts and so forth and now writing a very beautiful powerful letter to HH Dalai Lama to get across. Due to Rinpoche ‘s love and compassion , Rinpoche wrote this open letter as Rinpoche shared the plight of those who has suffered. The unnecessary and illogical ban has cause nothing but pain, suffering , sorrow , disharmony to both practitioners , non practitioner around the world especially the Tibetans. Spirituality is never about violence and hurting others. Spirituality is about love, tolerance and acceptance and this ban should stop for the sake of unity and peace . His Holiness the Dalai Lama please lift the ban of Dorje Shugden to have peace and harmony for all Tibetan people and those practicing world wide.
Time has changed for the better as we can see all world leaders are coming together to amend their relationship which been stand off for many years.
Thank you Rinpoche for this beautiful written open letter to HH Dalai Lama.
For many years Shugden practitioners are suppressed and segregated by people. This does not only happen among the Tibetan community. It affects all Shugden practitioners regardless of nationalities. I have people who stop befriending me when they know I practice DS. I have not committed any crimes, I did not hurt anyone, but I was segregated just because of my belief. Being a DS practitioners does not mean I am against His Holiness, does not mean I am against whatever causes the Tibetans might have. Stop accusing DS practitioners for the crimes we have not committed.
We are in 2018 now, this has to stop. It is more important how a person behave than what they believe in.
Thank you Rinpoche for continuously appealing to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and request to lift the ban of Dorje Shugden for removing all the suffering and pain endured by many Dorje Shugden practitioners worldwide. The ban of Dorje Shugden has caused many Shugden practitioners including non-Tibetans to withstand the pressure of being attacked in social media, being segregated for not following the direction given by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other types of discrimination inclusive of being labelled as spirit worshippers due to the falsely claim made by Central Tibetan Administration which concludes that Dorje Shugden is a spirit.
When Dorje Shugden practitioners practise sincerely in Buddhadharma and practising not to hurt anyone unintentionally, not to cause any suffering to others and cultivate peace with harmony among the people around, it is truly unfair to label Dorje Shugden practitioners as spirit worshippers. Dorje Shugden practitioners are no different from other Buddhists and everyone including Dorje Shugden practitioners should deserve to attend all the public talks given by ever compassionate Holiness the Dalai Lama with equal respect and blessing. Since Dorje Shugden practice is being introduced to people from around the world including USA, Europe and many Asian countries, many practitioners have progressed in Buddhadharma practice and some have even determined to become monks and nuns as Dorje Shugden is the emanation of Manjushri, who is the Buddha of Wisdom. This is a clear evidence to show us that Dorje Shugden practitioners will not fall into the three lower realms but able to progress in Buddhadharma practice in current lifetime.
May the all compassionate and respected His Holiness the Dalai Lama lift the ban of Dorje Shugden and allow for the Buddhadharma to grow further, reaching to more people who have yet to meet with Dharma Protector, learn and practice Buddhadharma.
Thank you with folded hands,
kin hoe
Situation and things changes overtime. In the recent development we see both North and South Korea leaders met to mend the relationships. Then the India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and His Excellency the President of China, Xi Jinping met and became friends despite the long cold relationship between the 2 countries. Nothing is permanent in this world and thing can change to bring better benefit to all.
We very much hope HH Dalai Lama will do the same too to resolve the Dorje Shugden ban. It has bring a lot of suffering to the practitioners. No one should be discriminated and segregated due to their belief as this is basic human rights. With HH Dalai Lama powerful words and respected position, we hope HH Dalai Lama will help unite the people and Dorje Shugden practitioners can be given opportunities to listen to HH Dalai Lama’s talk and teaching.
Thank you Rinpoche for writing the appeal letter to HH Dalai Lama in order to clear the Dorje Shugden ban and issue.
Nice video of the above appeal. Take a look at this short video. Touching– https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXIgKCH0vkI&feature=youtu.be
Times have changed so much with the latest news about the Indian Prime Minister Modi meeting the Chinese President Xi to overcome a long time of tension between their people as well as the leaders of North and South Koreas meeting and shaking hands is good news for the world.
I believe that this could help Dorje Shugden practitioners who have had a very difficult time over the past twenty years. Time has shown that Dorje Shugden is not harmful in any way and therefore the ban and suppression of this Dharma Protector needs to be ended to create harmony within Tibetan communities and those close to Tibetans all over the world. There are many Dorje Shugden practitioners all over the world and it is painful to be not accepted to the Dalai Lama’s teachings as I myself would also like to hear H.H. the Dalai Lama’s teachings.
Huge differences have been overcome in time such as the latest developments for India and China as well as North and South Korea. I believe that our religion is more precious compared to politics and that the ban should be removed so that everyone has equal opportunities and can follow their religious choice without fear and need to be scared of the repercussions for their religious choice.
Personally, I want to support this letter of appeal to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to end the ban on the Dorje Shugden practice and encourage peace and harmony between all Tibetan people as well as Tibetan Buddhist practitioners.
Thank you,
Pastor Antoinette Kass
Thank you very much Rinpoche for this open letter of appeal to H.H. Dalai Lama to lift the Dorje Shugden ban as soon as possible . I sincerely pray and hope this letter of appeal will reach H.H. Dalai Lama very soon and relieve the pain and suffering for all DS practitioners everywhere ???☘️
