A touching hug
Please watch how this cat expresses its affection and love for its owner. Even a cat (animals) has love, care and feelings. It shows we should not mistreat or hurt animals. That they have deep feelings and can feel deep pain and or happiness.
This cat is looking at a video of the dead owner and after looking, the cat hugs and leans its face against the video screen to get closer to the now-deceased owner. VERY TOUCHING.
This is not the only instance of an animal showing affection. If you do a quick search online, there are countless videos of animals showing care, concern, loyalty, etc. like dogs lying on the graves of their deceased owners, or birds refusing to abandon their injured companions, or dogs waiting and waiting for them just like Hachiko did.
Even from my personal experience, I know how loyal cats can be. My sister Lidshma when I was growing up had a beautiful white Persian cat called Cookie. She really loved Cookie and in return, Cookie loved her. In fact Cookie was very selective about who he showed his affection to. Of course my sister was one of those people. So I remember one day, we went out and when we came back, there was blood all over the kitchen floor. My parents were very confused and worried so they called the police, and after some investigations the police realised what had happened.
While we were out, someone had tried to break into my parents’ house. From the outside, they had stuck their hands through our doggie door and was trying to unlock our kitchen door from the inside. Cookie saw this happening and scratched the would-be burglar until they ran away. The police concluded this because of the scratch marks around the doggie door, how the blood splattered and also Cookie’s claws. After that, my parents always said that Lidshma’s cat had saved us from being robbed.
So I know cats can be loyal and protective, just like how this cat in the video was towards his owner. What all of these examples show is that just because animals cannot verbalise their feelings and thoughts, does not mean that they do not have them. They just find different ways of expressing themselves so we must be sensitive to this. And please always be kind to animals. Teach your children to be kind to animals who cannot speak. When we can be kind to others who cannot do anything for us, and we are kind without agenda or intent to get anything in return, that is true spirituality.

A beautiful touching moment has been captured in the video, of a cat lovingly hugging the video of its late owner! The loss must be as devastating to it as to any close member of the family, as can be seen from the sorrow in its eyes. It wants to get as close as possible and is hugging the screen to do so. Here is a fine example of love, loyalty and care from a furry being. Yes, cats like dogs and other animals, do have feelings just as humans. They love and should be loved in return.
There is also the story of Cookie , the brave family cat, who saved Rinpoche’s family from a robbery!
Rinpoche in his great compassion always looked out for such beautiful stories of animal love for us.
Very touching watching the short video, how affection and love the cat . The dead owner must have treated well and gave a lot of love to this cat . Well the lovely cat hugs and leaning its face against the video screen. Animals cannot tell us their feelings and thoughts, but they can use touch and body language to communicate. Animals do express emotion, such as grief and joy, just like one of us. They can be very loyal and protective. Do not hurt them , give them care and love.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
This is very touching. An animal does have feelings just like us but just. The only thing is that they can’t express our terms for understanding. They can feel pain, jealous, hungry, happy, excited, anger and i.e
So it’s not just us humans can feel and express. It’s not just us humans can love and care. The animals want to feel the same too. When we have a strong bonding with them, actually we don’t see them as to how we see them before. Don’t hurt animals as we don’t want to be hurt too. Respect them, give them care, love and don’t abandon them.
Very touching to see a such wonderful cat showing so much of affection to his deceased owner. It show us that animals do have feelings like us and they too need love, caring and attention as well. Heart breaking looking at the cat sad expression , how the cat giving a hug to his owner even though its just a video screen. Animals do feel sad, happiness and are our best friends , who keeps us company when we are lonely, joy, and happiness. They do keep our house safe and protect us from unwanted people. Hence we do not hurt, abuse them in state give them love, care and treat them as one of us.
Thank you Rinpoche for this touching post.
Thank you, Rinpoche and the blog team to share this wonderful and cute video of a cat missing its owner. This is very touching to see that a cat can have so much feeling towards its owner. It just melts my heart when the cat tries to get close to its deceased owner by leaning its face and body on the phone that is showing a video of its owner.
Animals have feelings too because they are sentient beings. They will feel lonely, sadness, happiness, love and fear. We should treat animals the best that we can because they have all those feelings just like us. If we think in this way, we probably will be vegetarian now. Imagine all the pain, fear and anxiety that the animals have to go through when being killed?
Cows, pigs and chickens are hung upside down and bled to death since throat slicing is the cheapest way to kill them. Imagine all those unpleasant feelings that they have to go through before drawing their last breath. For those who own pets, imagine our pet will go through the same? Will we still do it? Will we still eat meat? I don’t think so.
Animals show love for humans! Cow, lions, apes, dogs, bears, parrots and more can all be very affectionate and show surprising emotions when it comes to expressing their love for people. An emotional animals hugging humans video.

I can’t seem to load the video, not sure why. But love this very warm and touching story of this intelligent cat with so much warmth and feelings. Makes me remember our beautiful and sweet deceased cat Michelle that my sis Vivian used to own . Michelle could communicate with us by answering or scolding us back ?. And during meal times she knows it’s time to go upstairs to wake Vivian up to come down and eat. We really miss her a very much. Thank you very much Rinpoche and blog team for sharing this very touching story??
This is so touching!
We all know dogs are very loyal and more expressive in term of their love and loyalty. However this video caught the tenderness of love of the cat towards his owner very well. As Rinpoche taught us that to be kind to animals who can say thank you and return your kindness, is a good way to learn to be kind and compassion; and this is the true spirituality.
We all can observe that children who have opportunity to be with and were taught to be kind to animals, they are more focus out and learn how to be kind to another being who are not able to speak. This is a good way to learn how to love and care without agenda.
Thank you.
This is so touching. Animals have feelings just like us human. And definitely more loyal than us . There are just so many stories that they protected the owners from harm despite risking their lives but we human are the one who betray them. A good reminder for those who still believe that animals existence are to serve human. Hope this article will change their mindset.
Look at the cat’s eyes. It’s such a touching moment and I can feel the sadness as well. Animals do have feelings and we shouldn’t necglect them especially when they are old.
Yes all animals has feelings including cats. The longer the time we spend with our pets the more we will have feelings to them so do they they will also have feelings for us. The cat in this story is very loyal to the family and wants to protect them. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this story.
