Kyabje Zong Rinpoche Explains on Many Rare and Precious Teachings with Translation
Tibetan Buddhism is known for producing masters of the highest calibre and one of the most famous of our recent past is my root Guru, His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche (1905-1984 CE). Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was a highly realised Gelugpa Lama and disciple of Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, the junior tutor to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche had many amazing qualities, such as being a sharp analyst, master of philosophical debate and was an exceptionally powerful tantric master. He was even the abbot of the prestigious Gaden Shartse Monastery in Tibet.
Throughout his lifetime Kyabje Zong Rinpoche gave many different teachings all over the world. I wanted to share with all of you some of the teachings he gave that were recorded on video. I have uploaded all these teachings for you to watch and learn from. There is nothing better than learning the practices from a qualified master, and Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is definitely highly qualified. These teachings are rare because they show Kyabje Zong Rinpoche teaching the Dharma, and you can hear his sacred voice and see his holy form, both of which are powerful blessings. It is like receiving the teachings from the Buddha himself.
Some of these teachings are tantric in nature. Therefore in order to watch and learn from them, you should have received the appropriate initiation. For the first two videos, Teaching on Guru Yoga and Talk About Kyabje Pabongka Dechen Nyingpo, you can watch them even if you do not have tantric initiation. May you be blessed in watching such a great master teach the Dharma and may these teachings help you in your own personal practice.

Teaching on Guru Yoga & Tsongkhapa
Guru Yoga is meditation, prayers and liturgies dedicated to the Guru. The Guru focused upon in this meditation appears as Lama Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug tradition, but is in fact inseparable from one’s own teacher. This practice is known to generate vast amounts of merit and is one of the foundational practices within our lineage.

Lama Chopa Commentary
Lama Chopa, also known as Guru Puja, is a Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa, written by His Holiness the 4th Panchen Lama Lobsang Chokyi Gyaltsen based on secret oral teachings. This comprehensive practice strengthens our relationship with our spiritual guide through offerings, especially the offering of our practice. By practising this well, requests for attainments are fulfilled and all obstacles that have been accumulated in relation to the teacher are purified.
This practice is a complete meditation for purifying the four obscurations through receiving the four empowerments of transforming one’s body, speech, and mind into the pure enlightened state. It continues to be a daily practice in the Gelugpa monasteries throughout the world.

Mahamudra Commentary
Mahamudra literally means “Great Seal” and refers to meditation techniques used to come to an understanding that all phenomena are marked by one “seal” or trait, and that is they are empty of inherent existence. This meditation is said to lead to enlightenment swiftly if engaged in correctly. The techniques described in this teaching refer to the tantric system of Mahamudra and requires Highest Yoga Tantra initiation to practise.

Heruka Body Mandala Commentary
Heruka, or more appropriately Heruka Chakrasamvara, is a Highest Yoga Tantra manifestation of Buddha Shakyamuni. He arose in this form to subdue the god Maha Ishwara and the goddess Kalaratri, whose desirous energies were causing a detrimental impact on the lives of sentient beings. Heruka’s practice is another of the three main meditational practices that were propagated by Lama Tsongkhapa. The practice of Heruka transforms primarily desire onto the tantric path to complete enlightenment. This practice involves meditation of the main and entourage deities at certain parts of one’s body, thereby turning the body into the mandala or abode of the deity. Through this one is able to move the psychic energies in one’s body to bring about spiritual realisation and ultimately Buddhahood.

Vajra Yogini Commentary
Vajra Yogini is the sacred consort of Heruka Chakrasamvara. Her practice is considered to be the condensed form of Heruka Chakrasamvara’s practice and is the easiest, in terms of daily practice, out of all the Highest Yoga Tantra deities. Her form appears less complicated than the other Highest Yoga Tantra deities, but her meditations are just as powerful.

Discourse on Guru Padmasambhava as Being Enlightened
Buddhist ecumenical doesn’t mean to incorporate all four traditions in our practice, rather to hold one’s own tradition purely as paths to liberation while still listening, studying other traditions and generating faith towards them. All four Tibetan Buddhist traditions lead to same destination – Buddhahood.
