Dear Rinpoche, I find this one captured the current mindset that I have now.
‘Changing is not hard, you just have to amend your perspective.~Tsem Rinpoche’
Most of the time we seem to be facing roadblocks in our life but actually it’s not. We just need to transform and change our perspective. Always see the good side of others/ +the situation. Thank you Rinpoche.
Love reading all this meaningful quotes that gives us a lesson in life. It will never have a chance to steal another second of our joy that’ll help us change our perspective. Every of us must decide whether we will walk in the light or in the darkness.
These quotes in this post will shine a light on it all and paint a strong picture of why we don’t want to be selfish .Some of us seem to care about is themselves and getting what they want. However, many of us, will quickly point out selfishness in other people but not ourselves. When we think of others, helping them as much as they can, and the result is happiness.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
Very inspiring and powerful quotes. My favourite is:-
(How much you suffer is how selfish you are.)
Someone who is selfish cares only about themselves and doesn’t consider others. We should be giving everything to others and sacrificing our own needs. We look into sacrifice short term pleasure for long term success.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing these beautiful and powerful quotes for us to remember and for our daily lives .
How much you endure is up to your compassion.
This is a strong quote based on compassion. I think that is the hardest thing to practice as it meant to have lots of patience. I think every one have their limit on patient and I am no different. But seeing this quote makes me realised that I have not been practicing true compassion.
This is a reminder to myself to be more tolerant and patient in hoping that I can practice true compassion by not been selective a well.
Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing.

Dear Guru,
Thanks for the inspiring wordings.
I like this phase “Changing is not hard, you just have to amend your perspective.~Tsem Rinpoche” I personally experienced that same issues, same people and same problem i faced, the problem can be a hell to be or can be a learning curve to me, all depends on how my perspective are that time or how i view the incident.
Thus, i always wish i have enough knowledge, understanding on Dharma to make my thoughts transform, to have a wiser perspective, on selfish thought- so that i feel better.
“How much you suffer is how selfish you are”
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound quote. Previously, I have never understood what it meant when it is said that ‘From wanting comes suffering’. However, your quote succinctly explains that suffering, disappointments & unhappiness arise out of selfishness.
I think that selfishness, in part, comes from attachments – the intention to hold on & to ask for more out of the attachments, to be greedy. To think that something/someone belongs to oneself will eventually cause irrational thoughts & hence suffering.
To counter such sufferings, a reflection on impermanence does provide a change of perspective. I find it very helpful. It took quite a while for me to fully appreciate the teachings of impermanence on my attachments. I thank Rinpoche for his previous post on impermanence for this realisation http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/why-is-knowing-impermanence-important.html
But a glimpse of blissfulness came back into place when I confronted the root of the attachment head on.
Rinpoche’s quote further strengthen my conviction in defeating oneself’s attachments. I thank you Rinpoche.
How powerfully true all these quotes are, Rinpoche.
I must constantly reflect on them ,especially on the quote – ‘How much you suffer is how selfish you are’.Every minute of each day my habituated egocentric mind is trying to gain ascendancy over me and control me and make me suffer.
It is my worst enemy. But in its grip, I fail to realize this.
Thank you Rinpoche for these powerful quotes, great food for deep reflection.
