A bear monk??
Dear students and friends,
I wanted to share with you a very creative and neatly done gift that I received from young Nicole Lee. She got a teddy bear wearing red glasses and hand-sewed a monk-like robe around him! Hehe What a sweet gift from a 9 year old girl.
Nicole is a very talented 9 year old girl who enjoys going for pujas with her parents, taking care of her Dharma sisters at Manjushri Kid’s Class (even though she herself is a young girl!) and joining in all the activities Kechara has for kids.
Thank you for the creative gift, Nicole, I like it very much! Let Nicole know how creative she is below.

It is just so cute and sweet that kids like Nicole are so talented and have came up with such creative gifts as offering towards Rinpoche. I rejoice for her. I wish that Dharma will forever be with her.
Nicole is extremely kind, caring and talented. The bear monk is cute and creative. If more people bring their kids into the Dharma, there will be so many values that can’t be taught elsewhere given to their children. I am happy for her and her lovely parents.
Wow. I am so proud of her and her parents. 😀 This is such a special gift because she has put her heart into making this gift for Rinpoche. It is wonderful, she has a beautiful heart, always thinking of Rinpoche. May she inspired more people whether young or adult. 🙂
A very cute an thoughtful gift. It is the effort that was put in by this little girl to sew and make a monk robe for the bear that makes this gift special. It must be the good values that Rinpoche and her parents instil in her that made her offer such a nice gift to Rinpoche.
Awww, how creative and sweet is this? Nicole’s gift shows so much thoughts and care for Rinpoche! Her gift is so sincere and original, I love it very very much! Thank you Nicole for brightened up my day xxx
This card is so cute and nice. It is so good for kids and everyone to make offerings to Lamas and Spiritual Masters as it will generate waves of merit for them. Nice to see creativity from young Nicole.
Nicole is so cute! What a cute gift to Rinpoche. She is so young yet she is so thoughtful. Very fortunate to be able to grow with Dharma. =)
Thank you for sharing, Nicole’s-teddy-bear Rinpoche! hehe
The teddy bear in monk robe (the maroon colour same like Rinpoche’s robe)is super cute. A very thoughtful and creative gift for Rinpoche from a sweet nine year old Nicole, may she will always be blessed by the three jewels.
The bear monk is so cute and Nicole’s note to Rinpoche is so endearing. Very creative and full of sincerity. Nicole is so blessed to have the merits to meet the holy Dharma and Rinpoche at a young age.
Rejoice for Nicole that offer such cute and sincere gift to Rinpoche. And u are so fortunate that able to meet Rinpoche and Dharma at 9 years old. Wish u may learn more Dharma from Rinpoche and benefits more peoples around u…
Wow, Nicole’s gift is really creative and can see the effort she put in, a teddy bear with monk robe, how fun is it if this teddy bear is available in the market, religious teddy bear, hehe…
Some times a gift doesn’t need to be expensive, it just depend how much effort we put into thinking only.
What a lovely gift… Nicole is certainly creative and thoughtful in her preparation of this monk teddy bear! The Kechara kids are a great bunch of young, bright and loving youngsters who through receiving dharma from an early age, are showing evidence that they will grow up to be exemplary youths and adults – future leaders at Kechara! Her parents must be very proud.
Haha I never thought to have a bear put on a monk’s robe! Nicole you are creative, you are cute! It’s so nice, it’s so cute! And you even choose a bear with specs…
What a beautiful gift! The girl is very creative and I agree with Jay Jae, the girl even managed to get the right shade of maroon that matches Rinpoche’s robes. I must say, this little girl is even more creative than me. I am really quite boring with my offerings to Rinpoche. I think she did a great job and I think its a great thing that someone so young can be so deeply spiritual as to make an offering to a pure monk like Rinpoche. I hope she grows up well and does great things to benefit others.
What a sweet offering, sincerely from the heart!!Nicole is so creative, the bear in monk robe is so cute !!! Nicole’s action will be the great example for other kids to remember the kindness of Guru.
May Nicole inspire more young children start learning dharma.
even though is a simple card, it show the full love of Nicole toward Rinpoche, sweet and warm heart .
This is very sweet and cute. The bear is wearing glasses and monk robes too. What a wonderful offering from young Nicole Lee and she is only 9 years old. She truly show how much she love Rinpoche and even put the effort into it. Rejoice for Nicole!
Beary beary special and cute. Good work Nicole, happy for you and your care for Rinpoche.
So creative and sweet of Nicole to make a Teddy Monk to Rinpoche. Rejoice for Any & Bean to nurtured Nicole so well. 🙂
Very cute and thoughtful gift! Nicole is not only talented, she is also getting support spirituality/ creativity from the parents. It is so precious to spend the right time/ activity for the children :). Rejoice to Nicole Lee and family.
This is such a thoughtful and cute gift indeed. It really is not about the expense or the elaborate manner in which gifts are presented. Sure it helps when we want to give the best as an offering, but this example shows that when it comes from the heart, that is what is most important.
Similarly, our best gift to our Guru is our inner transformation, far better than any monetary gift we can offer.
On that same token all of us have different means. A truly magnificent example of an offering from the heart is shared here in this posting: http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/letters-cards-gifts/yesterday-i-experienced-true-generosity.html
I love the sweet Bear Monk in maroon robes! Nicole Lee is a good example of what dharma has instilled into them since young. Her parents are also good examples of dharma practitioners. The young does ‘copy’ their parent’s good example.
A very thoughtful give of a truly caring guru. When a child mention My Teddy bear,it really shows ,how she admire and love the guru teaching through his eff-active means. The child is indeed fortunate to be growing up in such a dharma conducive environment. Her parents should be proud of their daughter who knows how to show appreciation in a positive manner.Rejoice for the parents and the Manjushri kids class for instilling good values in their participants through their programs.
What a cute bear! What a cute girl! Nicole may be 9 years old but this gift comes sincerely from her heart.
So very cute. the bear has got glasses too. For young kids like Nicole, other than being able to connect with dharma at a very young age to continue what is left off, be instilled with positive qualities, they also get the rare opportunity to make offerings to a high lama like Rinpoche. How meritorious.
Nicole may be only 9 but she put great thoughts and effort in creating her gift for Rinpoche. How sweet of her. Creativity at such a young age.
Very cute!
I like how Nicole is so thoughtful even at such a young age. Creating a gift specially for Rinpoche, a one of a kind truly show how much she love Rinpoche and even put the effort into it!
Very nice and creative gift!
What a cute bear ! That is very very well made ! Most creative ! Well done Nicole !
Such a lovely gift!!! I believed Nicole has a very strong connection with the Dharma, to be able to receive Dharma in such a young age. With her parents guidance and nurturing, we hope that one day she will grow up and continue to care for the society and Dharma. Rejoice to this little girl with her talent and care.
Love the teddy robe!!!
Awwwwwww…it is a super cute Lama teddy bear hehehe..and the message is so cute too 😉 Nicole is very creative and sweet. A gift from sincerity is always touched 🙂 Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.
This is such a sweet gift from a young girl. I love her relevant (yet sentimental) touch of sewing on monk robes onto a teddy bear – and one that wears glasses! Haha 🙂
Nicole has such good merits to show such endearment towards Rinpoche. Her parents must have taught her well, to respect the Buddha Dharma.
Some may find it amazing that a little girl can put so much effort into a gift for a Rinpoche, but it really is a reflection on her parents, her imprints and her good merits.
This gift shows how loving Nicole is and how much impact Rinpoche has on this 9-year-old girl.
Nicole, you are very lucky to met Rinpoche at such a tender age. May you continue to learn and practice dharma.
Oh my! Nicole is really thoughtful, creative and smart! Especially the robe on the teddy bear. At such a young age, Nicole show much care and love. I am sure Nicole’s parents will be very happy that she will grow up to be a kind and caring person.
Nicole is such a good and sweet girl. This gift is very thoughtful as she uses her time and effort to make this gift to Rinpoche. The effort wins people’s heart always. Not about how much does this gift cost. For her age, she can’t offer much, but she always could offer her effort to show her sincerity.

Read what Rinpoche thinks about ‘do we need to be rich to make offerings?’
Offering to our Guru is nothing really about the money. The effort that we put in counts. 🙂
Wow
this girl really thought through her offering to Rinpoche and really put in all the effort and creativity into the Monk bear. Look even the shade of the bear’s robes are similar to Rinpoche’s.
Rinpoche’s love has really reached out to people from all walks of life. And it is a sure fact that love and compassion is a language which transcends all barriers. Like how Rinpoche has touched many lives, this girl has shown Rinpoche her affection in her wonderful way!
Rejoice for Nicole! To be so young but knows to value Rinpoche in the effort that she put in to present such thoughtful idea and gift. Rejoice for her parents too, Any and Bean, to have cultivated this beautiful trait in Nicole.
This is really so sweet and cute! And Nicole is only 9 years old.
Rinpoche has always advice the importance and value of nurturing our kids well so that when they grow up they will have good values, ethics, moral and most importantly Dharma.
When we start them young, teach them kindness, compassion and generosity, they will grow up to be better humans not just for society but for themselves. When they face a tough situation, or a disappointment in life, they will be deal with such daily stress with much calmness, clarity and wisdom.
I’ve seen so many kids these days who are so spoil and all they do is demand, and when they don’t get what they want, all the tears, tantrums, mind games come out… it is amazing how quick and fast they also learn from their parents. So it is parents responsibility to ensure their beautiful child receives the right kind of “love” that is not out the parents guilt for not being there.
This is very caring and cheering gift 😀
she really have talent and i believe it is the benefit from the Manjushri Class.
i like this: ”Dear Rinpoche, you are my teddy bear.”
Very caring and talented Nicole! The bear in monk robe is so cute!
Kid grows up in Dharma is always instill with the values of loving and caring. Rejoice and happy for her parents too!
