Nicole Lee’s Creative Drawings
Nicole Lee is a very bright and cheerful 9 year old girl who comes to Kechara House with her parents. She’s an active student in the Manjushri Kids Class (MKC) and despite her age, she loves joining Kechara’s weekly Setrap puja!
Nicole loves giving me very cute and creative gifts that are usually handmade by herself… For this year’s Wesak Day celebration, she gave me a beautifully hand drawn greeting card. Thank you, Nicole!
The card shows me praying to Lama Tsongkhapa, with an altar full of water offerings… and Mumu, Oser and Dharma running around happily. How cute! She even drew little pink ribbons on Oser as well hehe..I love the part where the doggies are drawn in with me…
I like it when children love to draw Buddha images and add their own little creativity to it. Nicole’s drawings keep getting better and better… she must be practicing drawing a lot of Buddha images!
Every Sunday at MKC class, she mingles and plays with other children around her age and they learn the Dharma together. How wonderful to have Dharma brothers and sisters from childhood… all the kids in Kechara are very fortunate children. In all of Nicole’s letters to me, her parents and Dharma teachers are always on her mind. With this much gratitude at such a young age, Nicole will grow up to be a person good to society.
Tsem Rinpoche
The card reads the following:
Dear Rinpoche,
Today is my Birthday, I will like to offer my ang pow money to you.
So, will like to see that KWPC can grow when I grow up too.
Mummy always say I have to pray for all people but I think Rinpoche pray harder than me, so I draw this picture for Rinpoche. And hope one day I can see Rinpoche and your doggies.
Love Nicole Lee

Very lovely Nicole has a very strong affinity with Rinpoche. Very good that children starts their lives in Dharma early. Let them live their lives in Dharma, Let dharma planted the root in them, they will learn and apply dharma into their lives when they grown up. They know what is true in life, they can endure hardship. Hence when they have difficulties or problems such a relationships, work, study etc, they already know how to deal with it physically and emotionally.
While Nicole Lee is so young, she already has the Dharmic seeds within her mindstream. This is really beautiful. She has such pure motivations and has so much generosity at her young age. Most children at her age would be greedy for toys always, but not her. Her mother has taught her well to be selfless and to care for others. I think she will be a very good person when she grows up!
Nicole is very feisty and lively daughter of Any Loke and Bean may she grow up to have the light of dharma guiding her now and in the future!
Children who has Dharma instill in them will be wonderful adults. Nicole is very fortunate to have parents who are committed to doing Dharma work to benefit others.Bean and Any set a good example for their lovely daughter to show gratitude and love towards someone special in their lives.May she be blessed always.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing. A very nice drawing from Nicole. I rejoice for Nicole for having taken up Dharma from such young age.
It’s so cute of Nicole to write “i think Rinpoche prays harder than me, so I draw this picture for Rinpoche”. Very thoughtful of her to think of our Guru and showing appreciation. Bean and Any have taught her well and shown her the Dharma at an early age.
This so soooo sweet and cute. Nicole just as creative as her parents. Its show the Dharma parents Bean and Any showing her the good qualities of being kind and compassion, so that she can learn from young. love the drawing.
Realy a wonderful offering from Nicole!!You are so sincere and so creative.i like your picture, its express so many love!!because you love them so that you can draw in very details, realy touching my heart.I rejoice for Nicole can learn dharma at such a young age,may her inspire more young children start learning dharma.
What a fine example young Nicole sets with such a lovely motivation for what she’s drawing – drawing Rinpoche in prayer because,as she says, Rinpoche prays harder than most people for all beings. Her drawing is so clear in its message;it depicts her sincere thoughts about Rinpoche and his three beloved dogs!.
And she’s giving her birthday angpow as a donation towards KWPC! Practicing giving with an open heart at such a young age and towards the cause of Dharma’s growth. How Beautiful!
Congratulations Nicole!
Not only is the drawing so wonderful, not only does it show a likeness to the persons it represents, it is such a wonderful thing to do! What a beautiful gift to Rinpoche, and to your parents too!
Wishing you the best.
Very thoughtful and sweet offering from this cute little Nicole. Yes i agree she is very lucky to have parents who are inclined towards Dharma and are so involved in Kechara activities. Their act has influenced Nicole in a very positive way. Nicole, keep up with your good work and pure motivation 🙂
Dear Nicole,
You are really a genuine, it s a good example for all the kecharian, I love the message you write to Rinpoche , Like offering the angpau to Rinpoche and manifest KWPC when you grow up . I am strong believe that KWPC will manifest under guide by Rinpohce. Well Done Nicole !!
Hi Nicole , your drawing is really nice . And you are such a generous child . Most children will think of using their angpows to buy toys or things they like . But instead you offered it up to Rinpoche for KWPC . A great example to many . Here is wishing you a happy happy belated birthday !!!
Nicole’s parents have taught her well. I’m very fond of Nicole and came to know her better when I was a volunteer in MKC and coordinator of the English language classes last year. Nicole also attended the English tuition class. She loves art and produces lovely creative work.
It’s very pleased to see young children grow up with dharma. The earlier they understand the truth of lives then we can have less worry for them if we are not around. Dharma is the best gift to the children for the future. The parents play a very important role here to encourage the children to participate and learn up.
Nicole is such a nice, talented and great kid. Such a young age already attending puja with her vajra & bell. Normally kids at her age would rather spend time watching movie or playing games.
Bean and Any have done a very good job in nurturing Nicole on this and definitely a good example for others. May Nicole inspire more young children and more of this young generation learn up at thie very young age.
What a wonderful drawing, Nicole! You must be a very smart child with a mind that is attentive to details. I like the fact that you caught the distinct features of each individual and presented them well in the picture. Well done and keep up with your creativity and good work.
With much love and care,
adeline
Very genuine & sincere drawing and words.. touching.
Rejoice for Nicole, Any & Bean. Any & Bean, both of you are great example for parents.
The best gift to our children is the gift of Dharma that will be with them forever and give them direction when they faced any challenges in life later.
Nicole Lee,真是個很有想法的小孩,雖然如此,在畫裡間,都有她最討人喜歡的特质,夠真有誠意!
Such a beautiful message and a thoughtful girl. She is so blessed to have parents who are in Dharma to be an example to her at a very young age. Any and Bean are also very involved in Kechara and are very supportive of its activities.
She is the next generation who will contribute to Kechara’s growth in the future.
MKC is also doing a great job training and teaching our young ones on Dharma. Well done MKC!
All can see this drawing was done with much care and detail like showing offering bowls and Rinpoche in meditative posture on a blue mat..How many kids would even notice or interested in such details. It shows she has dharma in her heart and that’s why she can express it so well.Nicole’s note show’s she is very generous, respectful and humble.
So wonderful that Nicole is connecting with Rinpoche and dharma at such an early age – definitely result of her past lives prayers and collection of merits. She will be a fine example for our MKC kids.
Nicole is such a talented and thoughtful girl! I like reading the about the gifts she send to Rinpoche as they are always very unique and handmade, rather than something bought off the shelves. This kind of gives me the feeling that she appreciates and loves Rinpoche very much! Which is wonderful!
I suppose it is only natural that she is such a sweet girl as her parents are wonderful people… both Bean and Any loves volunteering in KH for pujas and also often take on as MCs during big events, the most recent being Sunway Wesak Day.
Very good nurturing on Nicole Lee. Hope there will be more Nicole Lee in the Society who are our next generation to come. Congrats for doing a good job to Nicole’s parents and MKC teachers!
The drawing is very lovely!! I like the message too, it shows her parents teach her very well.
I hope more kids grow up with Dharma like Nicole, Dharma helps them to be person who not only live for themselves but also for others.
Rejoice for you, Nicole!! =)
Dear Nicole, you are very talented and I must say you did a good job in thinking of how to do the painting for Rinpoche! Well done.
It is very important to let kids to learn Dharma, parents also play a very important part for guiding and supporting the kids to learn about caring, gratitude and generous. I am happy for her and I wish she will be the future batch of leader of Kechara.
Isn’t it a bliss and also a shame at the same time to see a child at this age doing something so simple yet beautiful? Bliss because this child has the dharma knowledge to know what is meaningful and beneficial. Shame because we adults choose not to practise something so free of deceit. And we still procrastinate despite being reminded numerous times through verbal or writing. Death is always near us, make a change NOW and stop chasing for materials that we cannot bring with us when we die. Leave the world with Dharma knowledge and acts.
Vey nice and wonderful offering by Nicole. I like the drawing with Mumu, Oser & Dharma, she is very detailed and caring!
Rejoice for Nicole, Such a cute young girl practicing generosity in action and set a very good example to others.
In my opinion, kids learning dharma through the influence of parents is very essential, everyone (young & old) should learn the Dharma and It is important that parents themselves have faith and right knowledge of the Dharma, so that our kids can cultivate the interest and trust in their parents.
How cute! Seeing the card will bring smile on one’s face, Nicole sure is a very cheerful girl, bright as morning sun. Rinpoche is so cute with his spec! I love the drawing, it brighten up my day. Thank you Nicole, and Rinpoche for sharing 🙂
What a cute and lovely drawing from Nicole, really nice and touching. she have generosity to donate her ang pao for KWPC growth. even a young children made her effort for KWPC growth.this is also my wish and i hope my two girl can be like her to growing up with Dharma.
Nicole is such a wonderful and sweet girl. She is creative in her drawing. I am glad that from young she is able to start practicing Dharma. Nowadays i think it is very important to have spiritual knowledge to be a better person when they grow up. Parents nowadays generally concentrate more on academic and very kiasu to send their children to all sorts of classes for them to excell but they forget that most important children need is good value in them to be a good person and to be able to judge what is right and wrong.
Rejoice for Nicole and her parents. Also rejoice for all her Dharma friends at MKC. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing. Take good care.
A very good picture drawn by Nicole, so cute and detailed. And on such a young age ,she has understands the meaning of prayers, and I could say this guidance comes from her parents and also nevertheless the teachers at dharma kids class. This is the greatest lesson that we can present our kids, dharma class.
Dear Miss Nicole,
I love your drawing of Rinpoche praying to Lama Tsongkhapa and his three mumus. Especially how you drew Oser with pink ribbons! Cute! And if Oser can see the drawing, I am sure she will like it too! 🙂
I am so happy for you that you are a generous young lady and offering all your birthday angpows to the Three Jewels. I hope you will share with your friends all the good things you are doing and encourage them to do the same.
I wish you well in your studies and hope to have the honour to meet you one day. Happy Belated Birthday Dear Nicole.
Dear Nicole
Your daddy and mummy brought you up well. You are a talented and wise young lady.
Yes, Nicole’s parents , Any & Bean always help in Kechara. They are members of Puja House’s puja team , students of Lamrim class and emcee at Kechara’s roadshows and events.
Both are very talented in the musical field…so is Nicole, she plays the violin well for her age.
Dear Nicole,
I like your picture , I like the message you wrote.
Thank you.
What a nice offering! Sincerely from the heart. Parents brought her up with Dharma and she is showing that her parents taught her well! Good for you, Nicole! May you be blessed always.
Nowadays, most of the parents grow their kids mainly with materialism and academic education. Many teach the kids to be competitive, but seldom teach compassion. Most parents will give up Dharma class to go for computer class, for example.
To me, it is very important that kids grow with gratitude and spirituality. It is inevitable that when kids grow up, they will face difficulties, and by then, we the parents may not be around them anymore. Learning Dharma is not about praying that the problems never come, instead, how do we deal with the problem when it comes, with the good qualities, such as integrity, responsibility, etc.
I rejoice for Nicole for having taken up Dharma from such young age, as the more people practice spirituality, this world will be a better place to live in.
I agree with you Lew. Our kids will also face obstacles in their lives, disappointments, perhaps even failures in some aspects. Just like every human being in different stages of their lives for this is the nature of samsara. But if they have dharma, they will be able to cope with the situation better. Introducing our kids to the dharma will then be the best gift we can even give them for we cant be with them forever. I see that you start yours really young for your baby is in Kechara Sunday Service every week!
She is a good example for all of us to learn because such young girl that interested in Dharma and support Dharma is very precious, may she will be a good diciple and work for Dharma in future.
Although Nicole Lee is young, she already has the inclination towards the Buddhas, Rinpoche and all of his dogs. By the act of her generosity and pure motivation of offering prayers and ang pow money to KWPC, she also listened well to her mother. Her mother taught her well to care and think of others.
She is a very blessed child indeed to think of others at this young age. Not many kids nowadays can think like that.
