We had fun!
Last night I decided to take some kids out for entertainment and food. I like to take the young people of Kechara out from time to time. I think kids are wonderful. I like them. I remember when I was a kid all the adults that were kind to me and it made a lasting impression to form into the person I am today (be it good or bad). So adults setting good examples and being kind to kids are so important.
We had fun! Tsem Rinpoche

I am so happy for the two kids to be able to be in Dharma at such a young age. It is just incredible how much they can do despite their young age. I am very happy that they are able to be so close to Rinpoche as well.
Rinpoche is so cute! How wonderful for kids to be in Dharma as such a young age. This only shows how strong their past love imprints are.
I love how Rinpoche is so good with kids.. How I wish I met Dharma and Rinpoche when I was younger.. Well it’s never too late! =)
Thank you for sharing, Rinpoche!
These two brothers are so blessed to go out on an outing with Rinpoche. How many kids gets to go out with a Rinpoche? Our Guru is so kind and always using skillful ways to teach the young and old the Dharma. Outwardly it looks like an outing in a mall. Inadvertently, it is instilled with Dharma and the kids will benefit from it.
I forwarded this video link to a dharma friend of mine and told her that this is my Guru and commented that how lucky are these kids to be able to stay so close to Rinpoche and had fun, even though it may just be a few hours.
Then I started to dream about the moment if I will ever have the chance to be so close to Rinpoche in this life. And then I said to myself, maybe I may not be able to handle it well anyway. I became very emotional when I knew that I was about to see Rinpoche or when Rinpoche walked into the Gompa. I guess two experiences are enough….
Has this got to do my precious lives? I do not know. But I guess it will be good enough to leave this imagination of mine simply in my mindstream for this moment and if that day ever comes, I will try hard to pretend to be ’emotionless’.
I wonder what are the chances of my success in this?
Rejoice for Pavara and Jutika that able to connect to Dharma in such young year. Mr Lam and Chooi Sheem must be collected so much merits from the day they join Kechara and also pass life that make their children to be so close to Rinpoche.
With Rinpoche blessing, this 2 cuties must be the next generation of Kecharian to lead and benefit the next generation of Kecharian.
Jutika and Pavara are both intelligent, active and caring boys. They are very mature for their age.
Rinpoche showed both boys loving kindness, forgiveness and patience by not only telling them but in his own behavior, that is he can be fun too!! They are incredibly lucky to have Rinpoche in their lives.MR.Lam and Choi Sheem are very kind and helpful couple and they set very good example for their children.
Haaaaaa….when I turn on the video I cannot stop laughing. Rinpoche are so loving and the two brothers are so funny and cute.haaaa
Jutika and Pavara are very intelligent, yes, it is very important to set good example to the kids, because what we do, they learn. whatever we told them, they are noticing our action, if we don’t act as what we say, kids learn it all up, good or bad… So how the kids behave reflects who we are.
Rinpoche always has very strong affection to kids, he can even bring Dharma teaching to the kids level, that they will grow up to be good people.
I was there with Rinpoche, the kids and few other attendants. The kids just enjoyed their time and Rinpoche really knew how to play with the kids. He was all hyper and playful and he played just like of them. I am amazed at Rinpoche’s energy and youthful enthusiasm.
Lucky for all of us to be so close to Rinpoche and receive so much. It is nice to see these videos and pictures as they will be an important memory for those two kids. Who knows what these two incredibly lucky kids will grow to be. Great practitioners no doubt and perhaps the next generation of leaders of Kechara.
Two very lucky kids indeed, plenty of merit from such a young age.
Every word, every action by Rinpoche is an example for us to learn & follow.
Very Enjoy this Clip, Thank you Rinpoche’s sharing. : )
“guji!!guji!!!”
Jutika and Pavara
so cute.
Pavara and Jutika,You are so very very lucky….you have very good parents and Rinpoche,a great dharma teacher to guide you….i believe you will be great kids too. Keep up with the laughter, cos it can warm many hearts and heal many souls…..
Wow lucky kiddos! See the joy on their faces! Its very heartwarming watching this clip! Jutika and Pavara are so young, but very mature. Being expose to the Dharma at such a young age, they will grow up to be good natured adults. Thanks for sharing Rinpoche.
Jutika and Pavara… always nice to have them around! They are quite mature for their age I would say and not many boys their age can sit through a puja without complaining or fidgeting about! I remember there was this prostration retreat/contest going on a number of years ago and one of the winners was Jutika! I was really impressed that such a young kid could have so much discipline and focus to go on a prostration retreat. Both boys have strong affinity for Dharma and Tsem Rinpoche and I’m very happy for them, they will grow up to be good adults =) Thank you Choi Sheem and Mr Lam, you gave your boys the best gift ever!
The two kids are having so much fun with Rinpoche because Rinpoche ‘goes down to their level’ and acts like he was one of them. Pavara and Jutika are so blessed to be in the warm ambience of Dharma, which is love, care and compassion ,as epitomized by Rinpoche. They must have collected countless merits (in the past) to be now raised by rightly unconventional-minded parents (who opted to home-school them), and subsequently to meet Rinpoche and Dharma and be able to be completely immersed in the Dharma together with their parents because there is no schedule of school to come in the way.
How fortunate they are! I rejoice for them!
reminds me of my first dharma teacher in Massachusetts, U.S. telling us about the Zen Master Ryokan wandering from village to village playing with the area children. I think that when the mind is free of defilements and the heart is open, even we as adults can be free and childlike. Too many negative emotions/patterns obstructing the flow of love and innocence these days I think.
It is great to see that they are having so much fun. Rinpoche always think of fun way to deliver the Dharma.
The video is full of laughter…. Very cute and happy both Pavara and Jutika.
Rinpoche likes to have fun with kids and kids love the company of Rinpoche too.
This two kids is so cute and Rinpoche was so funny..
When I watch this video, it make me laughing that Rinpoche having fun with this two kids 🙂
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this video to us….
it was a fun night out with 2 “monsters”, as you can see the Lam’s brothers are just like normal kids as they are very pure and simple. One thing special about them is they never scream for pop-corns, cry for ice cream. Both of Jutika and Pavara’s parents Choi sheem and Mr Lam have dedicate a lot of their family time in Dharma.
Choi Sheem is a full time staff in Kechara Saraswati Art (http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/kechara-13-depts/choi-sheem-joins-kechara-saraswati-arts.html) and when they 2 baby have some free time, they will be helping their mama in doing some cleaning and easy job. Mr. Lam have an outside job, but still he will organized a lot of events in Kechara, especially activities for Chinese group. (http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/kechara-13-depts/new-statues-get-their-fill.html)
When I asked both brothers, what do you want to do in the future? Both of them replied they wanted to serve Rinpoche, I was so surprise, they really want to spend their life with Dharma even-though they are still so young. (http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/kechara-13-depts/pavara-wants-to-be-a-liaison.html)
Very cute.. and refreshing. Those kids are luck to have day out with Rinpoche.
Rejoice! How fortunate they are, both Pavara and Jutika. To be close to the Guru and received Dharma at such a young age. May they continue to practice and achieve enlightenment in this lifetime!
So CUTE!!
Rinpoche is planting the seeds of Dharma through games and fun with children!
Pavara and Jutika are luckly one but they also have worked very hard for Dharma. i always see them helping out in KH activities. Greats kids with Proud parents – Mr Lam & CS.
Children who are able to meet the Dharma at such a young age are truly blessed !! They are always surrounded by kind people , learn Dharma knowledge , attain good values and hence , will grow up to be great adults who will benefit many . Pavara and Jutika are wonderful kids . I had great fun working with them in Chamang . Extremely helpful and energetic kids !!!
This is my fifth time watching this video. Hehehe cos it’s keeping that smile on my face. And oh, I noticed the boys are wearing crocs. Hmmm, crocs shoes are actually quite dangerous for children, especially if they place their foot near the edge of the escalator step. Here’s one of the many links that reported on the accidents caused by crocs. http://www.wisebread.com/more-children-hurt-in-crocs-related-accidents
The best gift to children is Dharma!
How fortunate that Jutika & Pavara spend time with Rinpoche and many other dharma friends, I belief when they grow up, they definitely will do more dharma work like their parents do, and they will continue their spiritual path with purpose.
I truly rejoice for this lovely family!
The kids looked “helpless” hahaha! This is so cute! I literally laughed my head off!
So cute and the kids must have so much fun with Rinpoche.
What a lucky kids they are and Rinpoche always been so kind and compassionate. The way Rinpoche nurture this kids frm young will definitely make them remember the great time and they will feel fun to learn dharma at this age and move on. So wonderful to look at them in dharma centre and they are the future for the growth of dharma.
Great work from Mr Lam & Choi Seem. Both parents are so active in dharma and have shown a great example for their kids to follow.
Its always wonderful to see Rinpoche spending time with kids and adults alike. The consistency of care given to all students is astounding. Rinpoche thinks about each and every one of his students and will find ways to help, nurture and guide them… young, old and everything in between.
Rinpoche has spent countless hours talking, advising, giving gifts etc… whatever methods that best suit each person’s mindset and Dharmic development at that point.
The video above shows the patient, fun and playful side of Rinpoche and how Rinpoche has the knack for getting along even with children.
Jutika and Pavara are indeed extremely lucky to have such a precious exposure to the Dharma at such a young age, not to mention the merits to be able to spend such quality time with Rinpoche! 🙂
I remember when I met the two brothers, Pavara knew everything of the rituals at Dzambala puja and helped me. I said to him, wow you so clever and he told me straight in the face. “I will be enlightened in this life time”. I could n ever forget that, so young and so much knowledge of what to do with his life.
My appreciation to their parents, Mr. Lam and Choi Seem who love the Dharma and gifted these 2 boys such a wonderful purpose in life.
Thank you Rinpoche for nurturing these 2 wonderful youngsters.
It is so heart warming to watch the video. As much as the boys seem to be having a good time Rinpoche was actually having fun as well, which is great. You could be 10 years old or 60 years old and it is still fun to be with Rinpoche.
Rinpoche is always full of love and compassion. In this degenerate time we are so blessed and fortunate to receive Rinpoche’s teachings.
Watching this video could be a trip down memory lane. Back then I used to travel to places like the Genting Highlands, Kuala Lumpur and other neighbouring towns with my little godson in tow. We would be holding hands, just walking everywhere, playing, eating, shopping and so on. Believe me or not, those were the happiest moments of my life.
Recently on Wesak Day, I had the pleasure of meeting Jutika for the first time. Although it was very brief, I found him to be very smart and friendly. I must congratulate his parents for having such an adorable child.
Like what Rinpoche said, adults setting good examples and being kind to kids are so important. Your children will remember their childhood with pride and fondness, and grow up to be stable individuals. Set a good example, for you have the greatest impact on your child’s life. Good or bad, the future of your child lies in your hands.
Love this one, Rinpoche.
so funny hahhaha
Kids also love Tsem Rinpoche!
Jutika and Pavara, you are both so lucky to be near your Guru. Two cute young boys having a relaxing and fun outing with the ever caring and compassionate Rinpoche!
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you so much for showing us ways to be kind to everyone and still have fun and laughter. Even though you have so much to do, you have made time to be with the two little munsters. We are most grateful for your care and precious time. To Jutika and Pavara, I hope you realise how fortunate you are to have Rinpoche’s care and blessings.May you grow up to be kind, gentle and bringing care and hope to others also.
Dear Choi Sheem,
your kids are incredibly lucky to be so close to Rinpoche. Even the fact that you chose to home-school them has provided them so many more opportunities to be around Kechara all the time. Which led to them learning more about Dharma. Which led to them being around Rinpoche more and more. Which will lead to them to do so much more with their lives than the rest of us. Which gives them so many more opportunities. Jutika and Pavara have such an incredible amount of good karma. That’s what it means when Rinpoche says previous lives prayers will lead to us meeting the Dharma at a very young age in our next lives. Your sons are living examples of that. And you and Mr Lam have helped create this wonderful opportunity for them. Thank you.
Dear Choi Seem,
Yes, I am sure Jutika and Pavara will be fine, just as you wished. The answer is simple: because Mr Lam and you are one of those parents who cooperate with Rinpoche and surrender your lives and children to the dharma so how can they not be fine? Then the Buddhas are lying.
From my 17 years of being with Rinpoche and seeing how Rinpoche has consistently medicated each and everyone of our illness with care and skillful methods, I can vouch that your boys will turn out fine. Rest assured.
These experiences which the kids have Rinpoche is something which will be very memorable to them and they are extremely lucky.
I was 14 years old when I first met Rinpoche. I did not have that close relationship with Rinpoche in 1992 but I had several audiences with Rinpoche and my mom. Even though I did not understand dharma at that time as I was young as I thought the whole world was at my feet. But what Rinpoche had adviced me then I took it with me until today.
When I was studying overseas, the world was my oyster ie I had freedom and I could do anything from partying till late, not studying, drugs and etc. But whenever I wanted to do something “bad” I always remembered the monk ie Rinpoche and what he has told me when I was 14 years old.
I am very grateful to have met Rinpoche and I will continue to be grateful that I am now here able to serve Rinpoche and his vision to benefit others.
Therefore, to most of Rinpoche’s close student, it is extremely important to follow Rinpoche’s advice on their kids especially when they are still with their parents. Unfortunately some do not follow and when they grow up and become monsters, they will run back to Rinpoche for help. And most of the time, it is already too late.
Rinpoche has been taking care of everyone since day one. Rinpoche mentioned before, there’s no reason forums to give pain even though we received pain before, hence we should not say because my parents treat be bad, so I have the right to be bad and not nice to others.
Giving care to the kids, when they grow u they will remember the kindness of others and be better person.

The Lam family is so blessed that the 2 boys get to spend time with Rinpoche. Who is the cutest of them all?
I have to say it’s a three-way tie.
Another one of our lama’s skilful methods…spend time with the kids when they are young, and have fun with them so that when they grow older, they associate Dharma and Uncle Rinpoche with good memories and will want to do more. How do I know this? Because that’s exactly what Rinpoche did for me during my teenage years 🙂 Jutika and Pavara don’t know how lucky they are!
Hi Jean ,
It will be nice to hear your childhood experiences with Rinpoche – it might be material for a chicken soup series 🙂
Both Jutika and Pavara are smart, lively but not naughty. Mr lam & Choi Sheem provide home schooling for their kids and the kids read widely.
Great family !
Jutika and Pavara are very good kids.
Their parents raise them well and they are lucky to meet/learn Dharma and get close with Rinpoche at this age!
Cute! Rinpoche and the two kids are very cute! hehehe…
Hahaha! So cute!! It must be a fun outing =)
Jutika’s heart must have leaped when he thought he’s going to fall into the pond haha… very cute
Buddhas always treat everyone as their children. That is what is written in the scriptures.Ever wondered how they actually interact with children in real life? This candid and so cute and affection filled video will tickle you.
Watching this, makes me feel so good to relax and let go of our adult ways to behave like a child once in a while who is free from past and future concerns and just be.

Thank you, Rinpoche!
aiyoooo…. this video make me laugh so hard watching Rinpoche with Jutika and Pavara.
Hahaha, you just can’t differentiate who’s the kids who’s the Guru. Pavara and Jutika are cute, My Guru is cute, My Guru is caring and compassionate.
So cute!
