Reviewer’s Rating
Interior – 4/5
The wooden slatted covered floor, wooden square tables and plush lined wooden chair gives D’Italiane Kitchen a very earthy tone. The subdued lighting (despite the tall windows) creates a cozy ambiance. There are four main areas within the restaurant: the 1st dining section, 2nd dining section, wine cellar, and the balcony dining area.
The balcony dining area is located at the back of the restaurant where patrons can enjoy their meal outdoors. The 2nd dining section is located next to the kitchen, it is an ideal location for those who prefer more privacy while dining with their friends and family. In total, the restaurant fits in a total of approximately 150 pax. The restaurant manager advised that reservations for more than 30 pax should be made 3 days in advance. As a whole, the restaurant have a very simple but elegant look. Although 150 pax can seem quite dense for such a small space, the tables and chairs are arranged strategically and neatly giving patrons ample space to move around.
Food – 4/5
The food served at D’Italiane Kitchen is certainly superb! From their soup to their main course and desserts, they all have that added special touch. The Al Fungi pizza has great toppings, they use 3 types of mushrooms (button mushroom, shitake and abalone mushroom) all finely chopped and evenly scattered on the pizza. The Mozzarella cheese used is not too salty and yet tastes very good.
The Spinach Raviole is also one of the favorites on the menu; stuffed with spinach, drizzled with cheesy spinach sauce and topped with pine nuts, it certainly makes this pasta one of the best main course on the menu.
D’Italiane Kitchen also serves one of the most unique and delicious salads (which can be surprisingly hard to come by!). Their Warm Portabello salad is worth a try! Their vinegar dressing is mixed with herbs, shallots and olive oil. Something to note, the Portobello mushroom is originally served with meat stuffing but do inform the waiter that you’re vegetarian and they will prepare a vegetarian option for you.
The desserts in D’Italiane Kitchen is excellent. Their sticky toffee pudding stuffed with chunky walnuts is served with vanilla ice cream, both of which are homemade. Another homemade delight is their Bailey’s and Shiraz ice cream. This unique ice cream is only available at D’Italiane Kitchen.

Pricing – 3.5/5
Surprisingly, for an Italian fine dining restaurant, D’Italiane Kitchen’s pricing is reasonable. For example, the 9″ Al Fungi pizza is priced at RM 26.90 and the Cranberry Orange granita (drink) is RM 10.90. Very affordable to dine in a nice place like this, with excellent food.
Vegetarian Selection – 3.5/5
There is a reasonably wide selection of vegetarian food in D’Italiane Kitchen. You can even order certain vegetarian dishes off the menu. To note: the manager said that they will be revising their menu to be more vegetarian-friendly. So, to anyone who visits their restaurant after the new selections are in, do leave a comment below!
Service – 4/5
There were not many diners after 2 pm, so the food was served relatively fast. The waiters are quick to take your orders and to also serve a glass of water upon your arrival. They are attentive and accommodating, especially if you request for a certain dishes to be served meatless. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying visit to this restaurant.

This is so nice and wonderful restaurant. All the foods look like so delicious. 🙂 Will find one day to go this place and try all the nice foods.
Thank you Rinpoche for introduced this nice place to us.
Funny you guys like it because I found it just OK. And this is coming from Yummy Jr who will eat anything sans celery and coriander. Apart from their grilled banana dessert, I thought the food here was a bit lacklustre which was disappointing considering how pretty the restaurant is. I had their Caesar salad and portobello mushroom salad and bearing in mind I last ate here a ffew months ago so my memory is fuzzy, my predominant feeling about this outlet is just “meh”.
Maybe I came on a bad day? I would try the restaurant again on the strength of this review because I know the blog team won’t lie or give a positively biased review, but my first visit wasn’t something to shout about.
It looks an ideal restaurant that serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. It is believed that the dishes would be prepared in a most delicious and healthy way with organic delights.
Thought it is mentiones it’s a “D’Italiane Kitchen” restaurant, food preparations would also be done to suit European, Chinese, Japanese, Singaporeans and Indian taste buds as Malaysia is commonly being visited by a various community of international people around the globe and to many, Malaysia is famous for food!
Nevertheless for healthy eating where vegetarian delight is concerned, “D’Italiane Kitchen” may be worth a visit.
wow, the food looks yummy, I do realize now vegetarian food has becoming more easy to obtain, we don’t need to go to the vegetarian restaurant, even in normal restaurant, they serve vegetarian food.
I’m pretty sure most of these restaurant who serve vegetarian food, there is nothing related to religious, it is mainly for health purposes.
I’m glad that there are more choices nowadays. I will sure visit this restaurant one day. 🙂
I love this restaurant! Especially the portabello salad and pumpkin soup, yummy!
warning, if you are allergic to nuts/ pine nuts, do let them know lol… Had an allergy incident after eating the pine nuts in the ravioli unknowingly haha…
I really like the food at D’italiane Kitchen, especially the portobello mushroom salad. I used to stuff my face whenever I ate there, but during the last trip I vomited everything out after my meal! Now whenever I look at a D’italiane Kitchen dish, my tummy gets all squirmy!
Sometimes it’s so simple to remove the shrimp from a dish, or to remove the meat stuffing – but some restaurants make it a big deal. I really like how willing D’italine Kitchen accommodates to vegetarians.
Perhaps their new menu will be enticing enough to go back! Anyone been there lately?
Ya!! Love this Italian restaurant, reasonable price, great food, nice environment… Everything just great! Highly recommend! ^^,
Thank You Rinpoche ^^,
Oh I tried this restaurant before, it is super awesome, great food and atmosphere 🙂 love the place and pasta very much! It is a MUST GO place, lots of vegetarian choices too.

I like Al Funghi pizza ,yummy yummy .All food look very delicious and price also reasonable , is a nice place for gathering with friends and family also . For those non-vegetarian can consider dine in at D’italiane Kitchen, there have a lot of choices awaiting for you to order 🙂
Yes finally Italian vegetarian cuisine and wow what a nice set up! I love Italian food… this is such a nice surprise!!!
It is nice to see that more and more vegetarian cuisines restaurants appearing and getting very stylish. I guess when there are more people demanding for this menu, it creates the causes for this to happened.
Definitely a must try and awesome that no blood was shed, no pain, no tears, no suffering for this meal in our stomach!
I love Italian food! I always prefer Italian to others whenever I can. I saw the pictures and they are mouth watering. Its not easy to find an Italian restaurant that serves vegetarian friendly food. The place looks cozy as well. Thank you for this wonderful post. Will go and try it when I can!
Thank you again for the great review on another place for vegetarian restaurant. From the pictures, the place is very comfortable and cozy!!See,vegetarian also have many choices..the foods looks very yummy..i would like to try the tomato pumpkin soup, pizza and apple cucumber cooler…!!
The food looks delicious. Love to try the Cranberry Orange and the Portabello. Will try out as its nearby, food is delicious and pricing is reasonable. Vegetarian food is interesting these days and no excuse to complain there is limited choice.
I have patronized this restaurant a couple of times as the food is good and the place is pleasant. Yes, the al funghi pizza is one of my favorite and it goes well with the tomato pumpkin soup:)
Woohoo… all foods look delicious and nice! This is another restaurant for us to share with friend regarding vegetarian. We can eat healthy and gather with friend in this comfortable restaurant. People will think that it is very hard to be a vegetarian because they think that vegetarian not many choice of dishes and can’t eat what they like to eat.. But this blog post prove them wrong because we still eat whatever we like to eat and be a VEGETARIAN!
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing!
I love Italian food! I will definitely go there with my family to try the food out. The food looks so good! Maybe I can bring Rinpoche there for dinner some day? =D
Thank you for sharing, Rinpoche!
yes!! D’Italiane Kitchen is one of my favourite restaurants in the town!! I love their pasta very much. Their pasta is still very delicious even though it is meat free. The cooker put in a lot of ingredients in one dish and this is very rare to see. Plus the pricing is very reasonable. And like what the team said, D’Italiane Kitchen is quite vegetarian-friendly. And my favourite drinks would be ‘Apple Cucumber Cooler’. It is very fresh with mint and green apple taste. I never think it is dull to be a vegetarian. Being vegetarian is not something scary, it is not a huge change in your life, it is just another ways of cooking your food and presenting the dishes. And the best thing is, you will never eat with a guilt feeling. 🙂
I like Italian food and this place offers a different twist to it and it is vegetarian. Wahoo! Another excellent dining choice we can look forward. So no more excuses like “What and where are we going to eat tonight?”
I have to say that all pictures here are very well taken. They really make me drool when I look at them…
All foods look so nice, and it is even nicer to know that prices there are not of ‘Italian-grade’ that practically push interested people away from their door step.
Would love to have the opportunity to step into this restaurant one day.
