Do you need to be rich to make offerings? To do practice or dharma? Is offerings only about money? Is giving just from money? Is giving only subjected by how much money you have? Is the collection of merits, positive energy only by money? Well read below to see the answer for yourself please….
Today I received a very powerful and sincere gift from June Tang. It was pure effort and pure practice combined with pure effort. I really appreciated her incredible offering of practice very much. I thank her so much for using her time in such a wonderful way.
June Tang is a member of the Kechara House Southern Jewel Chapel. This is Kechara’s study group in Johor Bahru… at the southern most tip of Malaysia. For her birthday, June offered an ang pau (auspicious red packet), 4 little mooncakes, and her prayers… how thoughtful.
I wanted to share this with people who always think they need money to make offerings. Is practice, offerings or collecting merit not possible without money? June Tang proves otherwise. It’s whether you want to or not do dharma. My answer is no, you really don’t need to be rich or have lots of money to do practice. Take a look at June’s offerings that is from her heart and very precious. I am so appreciative that I must share this with all of you to rejoice.
She enclosed with it all a sweet letter… Thank you, June Tang. I have offered all that you gave to the Buddhas.

For me this gift is super precious, its not something you can buy directly with money but comes truly comes with true efforts and time to accumulate. It’s a gift that filled with deep love and blessings.
Happiness is not made by what we own, it is what we share and giving generously and sincerely. A simple gift by June Tang tells all. Given sincerely from her heart on her birthday to Rinpoche . It’s all done without money, that’s very true and that’s what I consider true generosity for sure. Giving what she could. She give all and yet she feel as if it costs her nothing. But to Rinpoche its mean a lot of sincerity We seek to give with an open, pure heart, with no attachment to what we are .
Quoted… no true spiritual life is possible without a generous heart. Generosity allies itself with an inner feeling of abundance—the feeling that we have enough to share.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing .
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing with us the very nice offering from June. I have always thought offerings have to be something valuable and precious, something we use the money to buy. Actually, the offering can be anything, the most important is our sincerity.
When we make the offerings genuinely from our heart and full of sincerity, we will be able to collect a lot of merits. Therefore, making offerings is not a privilege for people who have the money. I was told the best offering to the Buddha or our teacher is our mind transformation.
When we put the teachings from our teacher into practice and transform ourselves to be a better person, this will please our teacher the most. After all, the teachings from our teacher are to liberate us from our sufferings and be happy. This is what our teacher wants, for us to be happy.
Although this gift is not a lot, but I can tell that this gift is given sincerely by June, from her heart. I do not believe that we can only offer expensive things (although it will be good if we can present the best that we can as offerings), but I believe that if we offer up things that we have thought through and really mean it, Buddhas and our lamas would accept them with open hands and be very happy with us.
Dear June,
Thank you for such sharing such a beautiful offering! Not only are you kind and diligent and devoted, you’re very thoughful too! So nice to be able to offer this gift to our dear Guru. =)
I’m sure you’d get this alot.. You definitely are an inspiration to me! thank you!!
Thank you for sharing, Rinpoche!
Offerings comes in many different forms… the best offering which Rinpoche has often taught is an offering without the 8 worldly concerns…. No money, no problem. For some of us we serve, for some we do our practice like June here, for some we need to our Dharma work well, and some we need to built KFR. Whatever the offerings may be it should be unconditional and sincere from the heart… after you have that motivation of offering with out any expectations.. then it becomes a tru sincere offerings to the Buddha and that is when we collect the merits we so need… in which is a fuel for our Dharma practice, spiritual growth, Dharma understanding and our projects to come to fruition.
Here is an brief explanation on the 8 worldly concern by HH the Dalai Lama…
Why be unhappy about something when it can be remedied? His Holiness the Dalai Lama notes that if we avoid or turn away from The Eight Worldly Concerns in our spiritual practice, we can reduce suffering.
What are you attached to? What do have aversions to? See if they mirror the Eight Worldly Concerns:
1. Attachment to getting and keeping material things.
2. Aversion to not getting material things or being separated from them.
3. Attachment to praise, hearing nice words, and feeling encouraged.
4. Aversion to getting blamed, ridiculed, and criticized.
5. Attachment to having a good reputation.
6. Aversion to having a bad reputation.
7. Attachment to sense pleasures in general.
8. Aversion to unpleasant experiences.

attaiment of boti with this i shall bless you june tung with an offer.
I simply can’t stop myself from rejoicing for my dear Dharma sister June 🙂 She has been engaging her foundation practises for quite some time and I have seen her changed to a caring and responsible person. This has only been possible when she engaged what H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche has instructed. These practises have indeed transformed her mind. Keep up the great effort!!! Cheers 🙂 May you achieve full awakening for the benefit of others!!! Tashi Delek!!
Sincerity and putting effort for our spiritually practice are importance, June Tang are shown us the true practice. Keep going

journey !!
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for sharing this with us and thank you June for being an inspiration to us and a shining example of what offerings is about when you are sincere. Happy Birthday June!
This is very inspiring and sincere offer to our Guru, June shows us how devoted she is. Rejoice for June, Wonderful offerings 🙂
A quotable quote from Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen, “Remember, if we wish to make any offering to our Teacher, no offerings is greater than that of our own Dharma practice.” It is said that higher teachings are worthless if we cant even appreciate the most basic and remember to apply them as part of our daily live practice always. This is for purpose of building up a stable foundation for a solid base. Such virtues and merits are said to be of the highest in the practice of offerings made to our gurus! I really rejoice at June’s pure sincerity and wisdom.
We certainly rejoice for Ms June achievement and her sincere gesture of guru devotion. She has always been an inspiration to us in KHJB and I hope she has more beautiful and memorable birthday to come.
June’s action itself is a powerful teaching that we come into this world to benefit others and not to waste our lives away with mundane activities. Therefore, our birthdays should act as a reminder of that. Instead of celebrating by partying and having fun expecting others to shower us with gifts and attention, we should give something back to others. We can buy nice dinner for our family and friends or better still engage in retreats like what June has done. The highest gift will be to repay the kindness of our guru and remember that whatever we know which can help us gain a better rebirth is through our guru.
Happy belated birthday, June. May your dedication bring you much merit and happiness.
Rinpoche,
Thank you for sharing this and I’m extremely happy to hear about June’s huge accomplishments. It’s inspiring to see how someone who isn’t so physically close to the teacher, without the same large support of a center that many people have, is so consistent, determined and focused in her practices. Thank you June for being a wonderful example to all of us.
June is also one of the stalwart members of KSJC who consistently comes up to KL to join in activities here, participate in retreats and contributes towards the many projects here, in whatever way she can…. and most of all, she is extremely humble about her practice and contribution. I would never have known she was accumulating these many mantras if not for this blog post.
Sister June is my new ideal, I do admire her persistance in Dhamar
Wow…. What a taught full gift! It’s true, offerings don’t always require money especially when it comes to Dharma practice. In fact, I remember many times that Rinpoche mentioned, the best offering we can give to Rinpoche is transformation and practicing the Dharma. I rejoice that June took Rinpoche’s heartfelt wishes and materialized it through her practice.
Rinpoche has never asked anything from us except to practice the Dharma full heartedly, which is the very reason why we join or attend classes in Kechara in the first place.
Rinpoche has always taught us that the best offering to our Lama is our Mind Transformation. This teaching alone means that the best offering is totally without involvement of money but sheer practice on the Buddhist teachings which will ultimately transform our minds.
I thank June for putting to practice what true offering is and the wonderful mantras which she has recited and blessed the environment and beings in her space.
Thank you Rinpoche for showing us how we can spend our precious time doing precious dharma work without using money n thank u June, for showing us by example, how we can practise Dharma purely to transform our mind to increase guru devotion ,to purify n to collect merits.Your incredible achievement shows how determine n focus you ‘re inyour Dharma practice.Happy belated birthday wish to u,June.I sincerely rejoice with u for your great effort u put in your Dharma practice.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing what June Tang has offered to Rinpoche such a special gift on his birthday. Rinpoche has shown us that offering does not limit to only money. The important thing is our motivation and sincerity in doing our Dharma work and practice.
June Tang, I rejoice for what you have done. Your great effort and time put in to achieve your records of sadhana, prayers and mantra recitation will definitely inspire and motivate lots of people.
For a newly-join member like myself, I am absolutely amazed by the number of mantras, water offerings, prostrations etc that June has accumulated. The numbers simply amaze me…
What lies behind these numbers are sincerity, strong belief in Guru and Dharma, perseverance and the dedication to always keep count of what has been done on daily basis.
This post shows me sincerity does not need to be based on how much has been spent, but rather, it is the thoughts and sincerity that always touch hearts the most.
This post also shows me that Rinpoche does not need expensive offerings, what touches him is always the sincerity.
I rejoice at what June has accomplished…
Is amazing to read this beautiful message from June Tang, She is so sincere in her practice and her devotion to the Guru is commendable. The message is so simple but there is a lot of effort and love put in it.
I rejoice in your effort and is truly inspiring.
Happy belated Birthday Greetings.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing is beautiful message.
Such a sincere and beautiful gift to Rinpoche who deserves nothing less from a true devoted student who has in turn touched and inspired so many people.
Thank you June for showing us all what true Guru devotion really entails. An offering from your heart that is priceless and worth so much more than all the monies in the world can ever buy. May you gain many many merits for your loved ones and for Rinpoche’s long life, good health and may all his hopes and dreams come true.
The best offering is the practice and transformation which is come from effort, patience, generosity of time, sincere, meditation, moral discipline which lead to ultimate goal of gaining wisdom to enlighten.
June put her effort, time and her sincere in doing such a number of prayers in her daily among her other responsibilities ie office work, housewife and mother. It’s really show her dedication and how she treasure in the spiritual practice under the guidance of Guru.
i really have to salute June for such a great effort . May you continue this practise further and hope you can get enlightment soon
Whatever we offer must come from the heart; it need not be something expensive (as in monetary term). The best to offer to our Guru is our transformation and practice.
June has shown us that what she had offered is something beyond what money can buy.
This is indeed a very inspirational article. The list of offering is just tremendous. Money seriously cant buy any of it but with the time she had, she had made a different type of offering.
June, you are a very beautiful person. May your Dharma journey grow and grow and Happy Birthday.
Dear Rinpoche:
Thanks for the sharing. Sometimes I do have the impression that “rich” people is in better position to practice dharma in this period of time simply because they may be able to do something extra that an average or low income earners unable to provide. For instance, spend more time to practice dharma, to volunteer frequently in dharma center, make luxury offering and give huge donation to develop dharma which would translate into merits. Then these merits may accelerate the growth of dharma seed within themselves and at the same time purify their negative karma and obstacle in learning dharma.
But of course monetary affordability is not the criterion to / not to practice dharma. With right motivation, commitment and sincerity, one will find way to practice dharma and also can collect huge amount of merits without spending a single cent.
Personally I rejoice for June, her offering is a very good example to everyone of us.
Thank you Rinpoche and June.
It is great news to read about June’s offering to Rinpoche. I believe that offering our spiritual practice to our lama is one of the highest offerings. The top of the list would be mind transformation. June’s sincerity, effort and focus on her spiritual development is commendable and inspiring. Thank you June.
Wow! Very sincere offering. The effort and sincerity of June is a clear sign of how devoted is she to Rinpoche. Really inspiring and and June you’re a perfect example for us to learn from. Practicing dharma and offerings does not mean we need money only. What is most important is how sincere are we in our practice. Thank you!
Congratulations June and Happy Birthday! Its just shows that it is possible, with the clear mind and right motivation we can achieve wonders. Moreover this is for the Dharma which will help June in the current and many more lives to come. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this story which is truly inspiring to all of us.
Love
Adrian Chow
Dear June,
Congratulations on your effort and happy belated birthday.
This is a very special birthday gift to present to Rinpoche.
The amount of mantras and offerings, showed that she is persistent in doing her daily prayer.
An offering to a Buddha, does not need something glamorous. I have learned from this post , the most precious offering comes from our heart. A sincere heart. Thank you June for this inspiration. Thank you Rinpoche for the guidance.
Thank you for sharing this Rinpoche.
June is one of the many dedicated Kecharians and I am particularly amazed by the level of commitment that she has in her practice (especially the distance she is away from our mother temple).
The fact that she did all the sadhanna and prayers despite she has two kids to take care of, a working mother and also housewife really speaks the level of her commitment and devotion towards Rinpoche. Congratulations to June!
I rejoice for June and her very sincere offering. No matter what offerings of food, flowers, incense, precious items, etc we offer the guru, the one that is most important is the offering of practice. Why? Because, your guru wants you to transform, and practice is a sign of that.
As it says in the texts, what pleases your guru the most is the offering of practice, otherwise the guru is not a real guru….
Monetary offering is one of the lowest form of offering to our spiritual teacher, but showing result of our spiritual practice is the best offering, June is the first member from KHJB that i know of, since the first day, she is always so sincere and always give her best offering to Rinpoche.
Thank you June for showing us one very good example on making a better offering than just money. This piece of paper with the figures inside shows how much you put in effort into your practice, this is not any beautiful word can compare, because action speak the loudest word, you not only showing us the good way of offering, you also showed us what type of element a dedicated student should have, sincerity and integrity. You said you want to practice Dharma, and you really do it whole heartily.
Thank You Rinpoche for sharing the beautiful news re June Tang.
June, I am inspired by your sincerity, commitment, motivation and hard work. And it’s so beautiful and meaningful gifts that you have offered up to Rinpoche on your birthday , which money can’t buy. By doing these you will collect lots lots merits and create the course for you to be ever closer to the Guru, Dharma and The Three Jewels. I rejoice for you June! 🙂
Happy belated birthday June ! Truly amazing and sincere gift I must say and i did not even know when i sat next to you at Kechara Sunday Service. You are humble and sincere and i am inspired by your dedication and commitments. Next time i see you, i will ask you how it is done , wow ! your saddhana is like a shopping list. Kudos to you June !
This is proof that offering our practice to the guru is the best gift. You really don’t need to be rich to practice Dharma. Of course, if we can afford it, we try to offer to the Three Jewels the best we can. Rinpoche has taught us that what we offer is what we will receive at the end of the day. How much we offer up is how much we will get. I rejoice for June Tang. May she have attainments.
This is such a thoughtful and sincere offering from June Tang. This will take years to achieve that amount. Thanks June Tang for showing us such commitment and devotion. Wish you have a wonderful and successful dharma achievement.
The first thing that came into my mind when i read this was, how discipline & committed she is to carry out her Sadhana. Her dedication is not into wishing something for herself. Instead it is to dedicate to Rinpoche’s health, spreading dharma to more people.
Thanks June for showing us a good example & happy belated birthday
This is a must read for everybody! What a nice and sincere offering from June. The best gift to offer our Gurus are of our mind transformation.
June shows this by her dedication in her practice. Her devotion to her Guru albeit being in another state of the country is amazing. Many people who are closer to Rinpoche do not even have such devotion.
Thank you June for showing the correct method of Guru Devotion!
Dear June, your offeringsto Rinpoche were such a pleasant surprise to me. I was so happy to read and translate this article, and definitely do not mind to translate a longer list of your daily sadhana:)
I admire your consistency in doing the practices and in keeping the record. I believe such consistency will give you more confidence and strength in continuing your Dharma practices. And you have shown us a good example too.
All the best, and happy belated birthday wish to you.
Wow! Such an amazing and inspiring gift from June. Sincerely from the heart and its priceless! The best offerings in the world is our practices and mind transformation, something that can’t be bought with money. Dharma has nothing to do with just giving money and don’t care about anything else. Giving our time and care like June is really inspiring. I may not be rich but I am super grateful and thankful to be in Kechara Paradise where I can practice and also help the people I come across. Thank you for the inspiring post again Rinpoche!
June Tang offered the most valuable offerings one can make to one’s Lama; the offering of her sincere spiritual practices, how wonderful.
I am totally amazed and respect her very much for accomplishing such a feat. As saying goes: action speaks louder than words.
I rejoice for her great efforts, dedication and devotion to Rinpoche.
Keep up the good works Sis June, you are such a great inspiration to us.
Thank you June for showing us that practice and sincerity is most important in Dharma practice. The merits you have collected from your practice is precious and your practice of generosity to dedicate it to Rinpoche is such a good example for all of us!
I would like to add that we do not need money to practice dharma, but pure practice with results in an inspiring state of being will draw in funds that will cause the work of Rinpoche to flourish.
May our good example of dharma practice draw in more sincere practitioners and kind sponsors.
Hi Likheng,
I totally agree with you, thanks for the wonderful words!
@June: what a sincere gift!
Sean in Shanghai
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful news and gifts with us.
Its very inspiring to have June Tang, a lady who is taking care and very involved in KHJB, a working mother and at the same time doing sadhana and retreat in between her daily schedule, and offering up to Rinpoche.
I wish June always protected by the three jewels and has a smooth dharma journey, and everyone will be inspired by her
June’s offerings has shown us that the most important ‘ingredient’ in making offerings is to offer from the heart. It is not about wanting to look good but our sincerity and consistency.
Thank you June. Am so happy for you.
This is indeed proven that making offering not necessarily you need to have a lot of money. Making offering to the Buddha can be in many ways and it always subject to individual condition but one will not change is the sincerity. Be it rich or poor the most important is to offer the best.
June’s offering really from her spiritual heart and I feel it is one of best. Her dedication towards Rinpoche shown from her dedicated practices. Inspiring!
Thank you June for showing us the spiritual way of making offering and Happy Belated Birthday.
June Tang is such a devoted student of Rinpoche as you can see what she has done and offered so many prayers to Rinpoche on her birthday, fantastic! I personally love to chant mantras a lot,it can help to calm my mind, improve my memories, clear obstacles and even prolong my life as for my case, and i would like to sincerely thank Rinpoche for giving me so many prayers to do and i also will dedicate
all the prayers to Rinpoche.
Just by reading the title, it has already touched me heart. The devotion she has towards her practice is pure and well motivated. You can tell she’s doing it straight from her heart with much sincerity, as she shows no excuses. She clearly knows money that isn’t what’s really needed here, she knows that money can’t help you when you pass on, and the only thing that can stand by your side is the knowledge she holds of the holy buddha’s teachings and blessings.
I thank you June for showing us efforts like these are possible, you are a great example to others and myself. Also, thank you Rinpoche for showing us the true meaning of dharma. I hope you had a great moon cake festival.
Sincerely with folded hands,
Melissa Sin
This is truly an amazing offering with pure sincerity… it is inspiring! It just goes to show that we can all shut up and stop saying we don’t have money or we can’t! What June has done shows her devotion, her discipline, stability, consistency, responsibility, and her firmness in her practice. Her offering is priceless!
Many always think that an offering is some kind of physical object… well not always and sometimes they are even more valuable then any object in the world.
Thank you June for such a beautiful blessed gift to all of us… your gift speaks volumes and shows us what a true sincere offering can be even without money 🙂
Wow! I really rejoice on the amount of mantras that she did and what she has offered up to Rinpoche! it is a lot of mantras and practices that one can do. This shows sincerity and it does not require money to do. Sincere students like these are not often found these days I guess, but it is amazing that she is!
Making offerings is our way of connecting with the three jewels, with our most kind Guru who teaches us the dharma. The offerings benefit the giver more than the recipient. Something to think about.. There are many ways of making offerings and reasons or motivation for making offerings. Rinpoche taught that the real reason is to create the propensity for us to receive the dharma.
June Tang inspires me by her sincerity and practice. Thank you June Tang and thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful news.
Here’s a short video for those of you who may be interested to know more about offerings :

June你那份真挚的心打动了我,看着你把那份每天累积下来的供养献给仁波切,那份心意确实是真金难买的供养,以及那份认真修持的心是我的借镜。我为你感到随喜!
万物没有不可能的是,只是我们要不要出实现,任何的事情与难题只要我们坚持与持续性的出完成的话,根本不会难倒我们。
在此献上我迟来的祝福”生日快乐!”祈愿你和南方之宝可以放光发热,把宗喀巴和仁波切的教诲广传,利益众生!
Sincerity is worth more than a mountain of diamonds.
What June Tang has offered is a sincere daily practice.
A gift from the heart, not from the wallet, they are the hardest to give!
It is a precious gift from the heart, out of pure devotion to the Guru. Clearly, practice and sadhana is not something June does only on her spare time. You can only clock up those kind of numbers with sincere commitment to the practice. And in dedicating all those prayers to Rinpoche, June has secured such tremendous merits for herself, her family and her Dharma work. I am happy for June.
This is an inspiration and this is one gift money cannot buy. Even of you paid something to do it, it would have the same value.
It’s very inspiring to know about June’s preciously offerings for Rinpoche. Sometimes buying a gift is just a few minutes away from choose, pay and wrap. What June had offered takes time to accumulate and it has a lot of care and love in it. We all do Sadhana everyday but how many of us actually bother to record it down and having this sweet thought of one day i can offer it up to my our precious Guru.
June, your love and care to Rinpoche is beyond words can describe. Thank you for such a beautiful offerings.
June Tang has showing a very good example to all of us – an offering doesn’t need lots of money. It is a very great offering. Rejoice!
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank You for sharing this with us. June really showed us what sincerity means. While it is true one cannot live without money but the money itself doesn’t buy everything. It is the heart, the effort and the sincerity in practicing Dharma that counts. It is the sincerity to benefit others that accumulate merits and wisdom.
This is a humble lesson that in Samsara, sufferings are pervasive but Dharma is not. Even rarer is the Guru. May I have the strength to practice Dharma sincerely and be on the way to renunciation.
With folded hands!
KH Ng.
Such a pure, precious, sincere gift. Rejoice to June Tang!!! ^^,
I rejoice for June to have offered up her most sincere gift, which was done and accumulated on daily basis over a long period of time.
Let this be the shinning example for ALL who aspire to advance in their spirituality.
What a beautiful gift! Any gift from the heart is beautiful; from a heartfelt written note to a tangible gift.
This gift, i am sure, is a pleasant surprise as June did not make a big song and dance of how good she is that she is doing all these practices but instead quietly did it and offered. To me, this is so sincere.
May June also be blessed with all that she wishes for.
I rejoice in June’s labour of love and care.
June is one of the dedicated members if KSJC and they make regular visits to Kechara for pujas and events. She has also invited a 3′ Lama Tsongkhapa statue to her home. Wonderful!
It is a very sincere, beautiful and meaningful gift from June. June has shown me what is true offering is. It is not about money, but it is about the sincerity, effort and pure motivation that count. Thanks June. You are very inspiring.
I still remember that there was once we need to do work in Chinese. Although you are not familiar with typing Chinese Character, you find all ways to get the work done. Very inspiring.
Everyone of us have the ability to do offerings. If we have money, we can do offerings in terms of material. If we do not have money, there are still a lot of things to offers, our practices, our effort and our motivation.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing and show us the real life example.
Rejoice for June Tang (KH JB), u offered the most precious, and sincere gift to Guru. Rejoice for u hard work in your daily sadhana, u show us a very good example.
Thank Rinpoche for sharing this awesome offering that show us “It’s all done without money”…
When I saw June Tang’s daily sadhana records, it is just powerful because she does her practice daily and continuously. Thank you June Tang for inspiring we that offerings is not all about money, and to do our practice more diligently and with pure motivation. Rejoice for June and thank you again.
I have learnt that we don’t need to spend any money to make offerings. In fact, all the excuses I gave myself for not doing what i’m supposed to do are mainly my laziness. There are many times I “complaint” I have no money to buy offering items and yet I spent the money on other unnecessary items which only bring temporary happiness.
Rinpoche has mentioned it many times but I really appreciate June for showing us by example. It is time to get off my excuses and making offerings.
June truly exeplifies here that an offering does not necessarily mean a material offering. Like when you offer care, help, love, kindness, generosity, and time to others, which is from your heart, the offering can sometimes mean so much more than a material gift to the receiver, which when and if misplaced is gone but something as intangible as love and care will not be replaced or lost. Of course, being able to afford and buy something to offer is good, but you offer the best you can from the bottom of your heart. It can sometimes mean so much more than a gift that is solely expensive. An offering is a gift in any way, shape, form from the heart.
The bottom line is to offer what you can, at the best you can, whatever it costs you, because sincerity cannot be bought.
June, your consistency in doing your daily sadhana and mantra recitation is extremely commendable. May it fruition into you gaining attainments and realise the results of your consistent practise. 🙂
If you think about it, what really is impressive about June isn’t the numbers, but what’s behind the numbers which is the commitment and consistency to her practice. She’s not in Dharma full-time, and has external work commitments yet managed to complete these numbers. What about the rest of us who ARE in full-time Dharma? 😉
It clearly shows that sincerity is and always is the key to making any form of offerings to our Lama. In fact, the best and truest form of offering is the transformation of our minds… that would be the ultimate as our Lama is here to make us confront our delusions and attachments. And this cost absolutely NOTHING! It brings back memories of the homeless lady in Bangkok that gave Rinpoche EVERYTHING she owned. To us it may not have been much but it was her everything. It once again highlights the sincerity of giving! Indeed, offerings can be anything, we often think offering is money. In fact, it can be anything, as simple as offering our daily sadhana, our giving up of bad habit. It is so simple, start doing offering now to collect merits to support our spiritual development.
Dear June what you have done is so beautiful and so inspirational. Thank for showing your devotion and methods for us to make offering to a real spiritual teacher.
Dear Rinpoche
Thank you for sharing this lovely gift from June! It is so true that an offering does not need money. It doesn’t mean that expensive gifts earn less merit but that care and sincerity are most important, regardless of cost.
It is a very wonderful offering of prayers and effort. I rejoice for June!
love
Sharon

How wonderful is June to offer her practice! I am really amazed with the amount of time she used for all on the list to be done. She has shown us very good qualities of devotion, persistent and effort! Not only that she did all her practice, she actually traveled from JB to KL to present those gifts herself and attended Pastor Yek Yee’s class on Refuge yesterday. June stayed for Kechara Sunday Service and Sunday Dharma class too! What’s more beneficial than to spend our weekends in dharma?
Thanks June for inspiring us. Wish u a belated birthday and may u continue to inspire us with ur dharmic practise. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing with us. This open my mind to how sincerity in our oferings can mean much more than simply offering of money. Efforts that we put into our dharma practises are the best offerings to our Guru, the Buddhas, ourselves and all sentient beings.
Nothing is more sincere that a gift from the heart. Sincerity and efforts really counts. June’s gift to Rinpoche is a great inspiration and example for us to do more in Dharma. Definitely not everything is about money!
I like your sincerity gift, June! Your offering of your spiritual practices and accomplishments are the best offerings that pleases our lama the most. I rejoice in your thoughtfulness in celebrating your birthday with this offering to Rinpoche.
Happy Birthday June,
Your offering is real, given from the heart and carefully pre planned.
The value of the gift is not as important as it’s presentation and the thoughtfulness behind the giving.
A beautiful gift done with a thoughtful heart and pure devotion to her practice.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing with us June’s offering.
Like everyone has mentioned, this is inspirational but why do we want to engage in such extended practices? Rinpoche has mentioned that it is a powerful way to purify our negative karma and amass merit for our wishes to be fulfilled and for our Dharma work to grow and increase. Retreats and rituals can be very powerful means to set our life straight and if we are in need of a direction, it will become more apparent. Also, the Dharma would be clearer and easier to be absorbed and transformation to occur.
June is really dedicated to her practice and Rinpoche. What is really inspiring is not only the thoughtfulness of her practice but also her consistency in making these offerings.
I sincerely rejoice in June’s offering to Rinpoche and aspire to be like her as well.
I like it when we think of our Lama on celebrations such as the mid autumn festival, we offer our Lama our practice which will make our Lama super happy because he has seen us put our effort into our practice.
Thanks to June Tang for being an inspiration to many others that offerings need not be all about material and money. The sincerest form of offering is one’s consistency in his/her practise and June have just reminded me that. 🙂
Thank you June. You are a very good example of a true Dharma practitioner.
May KSJC continue to grow and reach out to benefit more people in the southern part of Malaysia.
😉
Very beautiful gifts indeed, coming from the heart of June Tang. When we give sincerely from the heart, our daily practice, that is a powerful gesture of pure Guru Devotion. Thank you June for showing us a fine example of a pure gift.
The best offering to the Buddha or Guru is not how much money one can give but how much effort one puts in towards that gift. June has devoted her time and effort towards her spiritual growth and has spent countless of hours doing sadhanas, mantras, tea offerings and prostrations and dedicated all to Rinpoche’s good health and long
life. This is something that money cannot buy. It shows her sincerity and love for Rinpoche and her willingness to sacrifice her comfort zone for her dharma practice.
I wish June a Happy Birthday and that her dharma practice will flourish and may she inspire and motivate others to practice the dharma. Thank you, Rinpoche! Thank you, June!
Offering that comes from the heart is the most meaningful. June you you are beautiful!
This is a very sincere and meaningful gift that June have offered to Rinpoche. It is really a lot of prayers that have been accumulated. Thank you Rinpoche for showing us one of the many ways that one can make offerings.
My simple thought about money and offerings. What moves me about the gift is the sincere motivation behind it. I really like the fact that June is offering it’s practice.
When I first met Rinpoche 6 years ago, I did not have much personal money. I could ask very little of my parents support back then. Thus, I just offered humble gifts, my small donation to some charity cause and prostration practice. I really think that due to these offerings, I am able to do what I am doing now and gained the much needed support. Money is important of course because without it, we are limited in our capacity to do anything. But the motivation behind it counts even more than what we offered.
I pray that June Kang’s practice will fluorish fast and that she can bring Dharma to millions of people.
Nice gift June Tang
The best offering is our effort on dharma practises & the transformation of the mind. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing such inspirational story of June for reminding & showing me how.
Money is not the primary criteria for one’s spiritual journey, thus includes to say that it is not necessary for offerings. Sincerity and good motivation is free 🙂
Of course if one has money and can make sponsorships for the dharma to grow it is great but again, it does not mean without money you cannot make offerings and be spiritual.
Sister June is an inspiration!
Thanks you thanks you thanks you I rejoice on this virtues action and follow this great example
When I saw the amount of prayers and mantras she did I thought it is unbelievable. June is very dedicated in making prayers. The amount of effort and time to achieve such numbers will make others notice, pick up Dharma practices and have faith in it without giving up easily.
Everyone’s situation is different, some has more money, some has more time, some has more of both, and some has less of both. The giver giving time or money are the is practicing generosity. Since generosity is a virtue, the first virtue of the six perfections, therefore the result is merit. Not only that spending time and effort to do the prayers develop one’s patient, persistence, and concentration. Because prayers are used to improve our mind which will lead us to be able more virtue in the future thus is a form of discipline. I believe these five perfections are being developed thus it is of great virtue and merits. I am happy to hear about June’s dedication which will motivate others to practice with enthusiasm. 🙂 Thank you June!
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this with us, and thank you June for showing us what is true offering.
Offerings to Buddha is not how beautiful the offering is nor how much it costs, it’s about how much effort we made to offer. I am really touched by such a devoted student who dedicate literally all precious things she has to the Guru. How auspicious it is to offer all Sadhana prayers to our Guru.
June, you are really thoughtful and value the Dharma well. Thanks for teaching us a good lesson. Rejoice for you! Wish you a happy birthday, may you have a wonderful spiritual journey!
Devotion so pure is very hard to find and not many will practice to gain insight for the benefit of others but merely for worldly results.
June you are very inspirational and beautiful being.
