Miracles of Tsem Rinpoche: The true story of Ah Hao | 詹仁波切的奇迹:阿豪的真实故事

Being Rinpoche’s personal attendant means that I am able to witness real Dharma in action, both on and off the throne. I consider myself extremely fortunate, and at the same time it is also a great challenge to instil Dharma in my life 24/7.

Over the years I have witnessed many cases of how Rinpoche helped many people in both worldly and supramundane ways, so I decided to have these stories told in comic form for the wider audience. It is my wish that through these stories many will be inspired to achieve the state of compassion and attainments like Tsem Rinpoche, so that many more sentient beings can be helped.

Pastor Loh Seng Piow

Thank you Pastor Seng Piow for sharing this story and present it in an interesting comic.

From this story I have learnt to:

    1) Respect all living beings be it alive or dead. Do not abuse or torture them.

    2) Protector mantra is very powerful and have full trust it the practise. It will clear our obstacles and interference of evil spirits.

We are so fortunate to be able to learn the practise of Setrap from Rinpoche in Kechara. Thank you Rinpoche for your continuous teaching.

Thanks for the sharing. I really feel glad that we have Lord Setrap here at Kechara as our dharma protector.

Thanks to Rinpoche for introducing Setrap Practice to Malaysia, which halps many Malaysian, and many people start practicing dharma because of Setrap.

Dear Rinpoche, my mother almost past away in May 2004. I was told that the reason that my mother almost died that day is caused by a Naga, that is living in our Puchong house. Before my parents bought this current house, they were considering about buying the house in Puchong without asking for Rinpoche’s divination. And we only stayed there for a couple hours and things happened just like that.

I just love the miracle series done by Sing Piow.
Each and every story is so well depicted and so easy to read.
We are all so fortunate that we have Rinpoche and Setrap in our lives to protect us all the time.Everytime I feel uneasy in a situation , I just see Rinpoche and Setrap as one and chant Setrap mantra and my mind becomes at peace.
I do not have any fear as I fully trust in Rinpoche and in Setrap.

If you follow yours gurus instruction you will get your results. There are many cases when people have problems they consult their guru and if they follow their gurus instructions they can get their result but if they don’t they will not get their result. In this case he followed Rinpoche’s instructions so he got his result.

Listen to Rinpoche tell you the story about this snake spirit in his own words: http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/paranormal/tsem-paranormal-tv/snake-spirit.html

Rinpoche is very humble and will never say so himself, but Rinpoche’s divination is extremely accurate and is never wrong. Rinpoche received his divination dice from his root guru, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, after he completed all his retreats and the necessary practices to be a qualified divination master. I have been Rinpoche’s divination secretary for a few years, and I have never seen a single divination be wrong.

I have heard so much miracle stories of Setrap. He is very powerful in removing our obstacles.

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to do Setrap practice. Rinpoche said modern people like us has got lots of obstacles. In order to progress in our spiritual practice, Setrap will be a very powerful practice for us to do.

Come to understand more in Kechara House if you live in Kuala Lumpur. Otherwise, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InTFjv-ggjo&feature=plcp to learn more about him.

Lord Setrap is a great Dharma Protector. Thank you Rinpoche, for providing Malaysians with the protector practice of Lord Setrap.

  16. Cynthia Lee on Oct 26, 2012 at 11:25 pm

We are very fortunate to have Setrap pujas every Mondays and Tuesdays in Kechara House for many had seek help for spirit and black magic cases. I have seen many people who sought for other solutions and various methods to resolve their spirit issues and at the last resort stumbled upon the Tibetan Buddhist methods which finally work. The simple reason is because the methods of wrathful protectors are through compassion and irregardless how it appears, they do not aim to harm the spirits that is harmful.

Secondly, when we seek for protection from the Buddhist protectors, it’s up to us to carry out the practice which purifies our negative karma with the spirit or situation. The protectors can only help us if we ourselves put consistent effort to help ourselves. We have created the karma, hence we have to pay for it one way or another. To me, paying for it via consistent prayers isn’t too much to ask for, isn’t it?

  17. Karen Chong on Oct 25, 2012 at 12:11 pm

I love reading this comic conceptualized by SP. It’s straight forward and easy to understand and now all these stories are compiled in a book with both languages! Learning Dharma through visuals is fast, easier to absorb the essence of the teachings. In a more direct fashion, comic also moves us to take action. Like after reading Ah Hao’s story of how Setrap has helped him, it inspires people to learn up this simple mantra and is eager to find out more about who Setrap is.

  18. tfreon on Oct 25, 2012 at 1:33 am

A thought came to my mind after reading this story. Actually in this world, many people have faced all kind of “paranormal” incidents. Where these people seek help? It is a correct help? Thus, i think i am fortunate to have met with H.E Tsem Rinpoche, and, when people around me faced this kind of problems, i am able to seek help and get a correct help. But, what if other people do not know Rinpoche? Thus, it is important to have Guru Devotion, to be able to bring Dharma to people , to be able to let Rinpoche’s name become famous. Not because to make H.E a star, but, more people have the access to Rinpoche, able to listen to Dharma from an authentic lineage, able to get help in correct methods.
I sincerely thanks Rinpoche for turning the Dharma wheel and patiently educate us for over 20 years. May Rinpoche’s work flourish , may Rinpoche live long and turn the Dharma wheel to wherever Dharma is needed.

What an incredible story. Ah Hao was very lucky to have met Rinpoche.
This is also a lesson in the importance of showing respect and kindness to animals. We don’t know that they might actually be spirits. It was a good thing Ah Hao finished the recitation of the Setrap mantra. If he hadn’t listened to Rinpoche, he might not have been freed of the possession.

  21. Wan Wai Meng on Oct 23, 2012 at 2:29 pm

Yes this was not witnessed just by rinpoche when he was in thailand many people witnessed it as well happening this could not have been planned and definitely real. Tibetan Buddhism has many methods to overcome negative spirits and influences.

I can never get enough of these stories. Wonderful. There is a saying that the best things in life are free. For example, oxygen is free. Another example is Lord Setrap’s practice. It’s free, no commitments and easy for anyone to do. Yet people still run around looking for help or assistance that come with an expensive fee, like paying shamans or bomohs. They should realize that the best things in life are always free.

Thank you Seng Piow for sharing this wonderful story, may the story of Ah Hao will continue to benefit lots of people all over the world!

Because of H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s compassion, kindness and care for all sentient beings, many beings have benefited by Rinpoche.

I remember in year 1999, when I was 2 months pregnant with my son. During that two months, I was disturbed by spirit and I can’t sleep every night, until I met Rinpoche and He advised me to recite Dharmapala Setrap’s mantra and drink His holy water everyday. I followed Rinpoche’s advised and true enough after reciting Protector’s mantra for not long, without me realized I was able to sleep well after then.

Yes, Dharmapala Setrap has helped me and my family to go through some much of obstacles and difficulties. Specially thanks to H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s love and care, without Him, I can’t imaging, what will be happened to me and my love ones. Thank You Rinpoche and I love You, angel

I have heard the testament from Pastor Chia quite some time back. Wehn he was explaining how Ah Hao would behanve under the possession of the snake spirit, I had goose bumps all over.

Ah Hao had the good merits to meet Rinpoche in person, who helped him back on track.

  30. Jace Chong on Oct 19, 2012 at 2:39 pm

It’s an amazing story of how Setrap helps all sentient beings.

Luckily Ah Hao met Rinpoche, if not the rest of his life will be in sufferings with the disturbances of the snake spirit.

I like the story very much, it shows how compassion and powerful Rinpoche and Setrap are.

There’s a video version of this story by Rinpoche
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G6g6F5jDR0

  31. Lim Han Nee on Oct 19, 2012 at 7:33 am

Thank goodness that Ah Hao had the merits to meet Rinpoche. It could not have been sheer coincidence that he was in the same temple as Rinpoche. It was Rinpoche’s and Setrap’s great compassionate power that saved him.

It is amazing indeed that Ah Hao, who had sought out many sources of help and had even gone as far as Wu Tai Shan in China for help, did not get healed until he met Rinpoche and Setrap. Setrap, as a Dharma protector, has helped innumerable cases to get rid of charm, black magic and spirit possession. His Mantra ‘Om Maha Yakcha Tsa Soha’ is very powerful. Not long after Ah Hao completed his 100,000 mantras, as instructed by Rinpoche, he was relieved of the snake spirit’s possession of him.

I am glad that Ah Hao became a monk, a member of the Sangha . It will help atone for his great transgression of killing a snake and playing with its dead body afterwards.

Lord Setrap is the Dharma Protector of Kechara House. Every Monday(English) and Tuesday(Chinese) night, there is a Setrap puja at KH gompa. From the crowd that comes for the puja, we can see that Lord Setrap is ever ready to help people with their problems, which are numerous and varied.

  32. Jutika on Oct 18, 2012 at 11:59 pm

Wonderful isn’t it how just a short mantra and a compassion of a wonderful and high Lama can do so much good!!! We are really lucky to have Setrap to protect us, if not for him Ah Hao would have been dead by now. We should all be thankful that we have Setrap and H.E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.

    Thank you Rinpoche.

  34. Albert Ratchaga on Oct 18, 2012 at 2:59 am

Many People never realize the importance of spiritual practice, they have been chasing after the material enjoyment, even if we have a lot, we can built a kingdom in our lifetime, but when come to situation like this, when come to the situation of life and death, none of our possession can help us, just like Ah Hao, he went to so many places, he spent so much money, but his situation never gets better, in fact, it become worse, until after he met Rinpoche, only until he recite Setrap’s Mantra, then only his condition manage to turn around.

Setrap is the wrathful form of Amitabha, being in wrathful form is to help clear our obstacle fast enough so we can continue with our spiritual journey easier, but if we don’t put in our effort, we still can’t get help from Protector Setrap, because the karma we created will stop him from helping, hence, when we engage into a spiritual practice, we need to have faith, be sincere and commit with integrity.

Setrap is not only helping us to solve our problem, it save lives too, throughout so many hundreds of years, Setrap has saves so many people from going down in their life.

Another link here you can read on how powerful Setrap is.

  48. sarahyap on Oct 15, 2012 at 11:41 pm

Amazing! I have heard of this story before told by one of Rinpoche’s senior students. Setrap is a very powerful and compassionate Dharma Protector, He will help us in times of trouble just like how Rinpoche will help his students, and even people he just met, sincerely.

Rinpoche is not only amazing because of His ability to aid people in times they need it the most, but also for his great compassion and determination to help them. If I remember correctly, there is more to this story. Rinpoche would also recite thousands of mantras during His retreat in the Thai temple and quickly call Ah Hou to blow the mantra at him because Ah Hou’s spirit possession was so overwhelming and dangerous. Just like how Rinpoche cared for Ah Hou, in the same way, Rinpoche cares for everyone else.

    • patsy on Oct 17, 2012 at 2:46 pm

Yes, Sarah, you are right. Rinpoche would recite thousands of mantras during his retreat and he will ask his assistant to bring Ah Hou to him and Rinpoche will blow the mantras on Ah Hou. Its because of Rinpoche’s compassion, Ah Hou is alive and free from snake spirit.

Our Dharma Protector, Setrap, is and Enlightened Being and He protects and blesses all who seeks His help. We are so fortunate that Rinpoche is so kind to teach us Setap practice.

Thank you, Seng Piow, for sharing another amazing miracle with us!

  50. yenpin on Oct 15, 2012 at 11:12 pm

  51. Pastor Chia on Oct 15, 2012 at 10:07 pm

Yes, i was witness this incident clearly happen 14 years ago at Wat Khao Lok Chang at South Thailand. I never see people acting like a snake before when Ah Hoo get possessed by snake spirit.

That time it happen that rinpoche is doing retreat at the temple. Everyday end of rinpoche retreat, he will asked me call Ah Hoo and give him blessing. At the same time, Rinpoche is giving Ah Hoo protector mantra to recited. His situation get better when rinpoche stay at the temple over a month. Over few month, the snake spirit can’t possessed in Ah Hoo body anymore.

That is truth blessing by rinpoche and protector power.

    • DR on Oct 19, 2012 at 12:08 pm

I remembered you describing how Ah Hoa looks when he was posessed. You said that even his eyebrows disappeared as it turned white. The spirit in that snake which Ah Hao killed must have been a powerful one to have lived 100 years. But no matter how powerful, truth prevails and no state is higher than that of an enlightened being.

  52. Louise Lee on Oct 15, 2012 at 9:56 pm

Actually after i read the story, i got a question pop up in my head !!

    100岁的蛇精,怎么可能那么容易被年少的阿豪杀死呢?是不是因为他们是有一些前世的姻缘,所以才会导致这个蛇精缠身?

  53. grace (KHJB) on Oct 15, 2012 at 7:03 pm

The story of Ah Hao so amazing and unbelievable in this current society. But no every one can be like Ah Hao able to meet Rinpoche and practice Setrap to solve the spirit problem. We are really fortunate can be able to meet Rinpoche and practice Setrap. We should do our best to share Setrap Practice to many people to beneficial them in thier life as well as Dharma practice.

Setrap is really a great protect I thanks so much rinpoche to have show me the way

  55. Grace Leong on Oct 15, 2012 at 5:26 pm

Wow ! That was an amazing story . Setrap is a great protector. Ah Hao was so lucky to have met Rinpoche ; otherwise he will hv to continue suffering .

  56. Wah Ying on Oct 15, 2012 at 3:42 pm

I learn from this post that do no harm to others, including animals.

When I read how A Hao free from his problem by reciting Setrap’s mantra, I was like wow so easy…after A Hao search for solution for so many years. One will believe in Setrap’s power only till you meet with Setrap.

Luckily A Hao met Rinpoche, Setrap and Chia or no he will be still suffers or lost his life. We Malaysians are fortunate to have Setrap in Kechara brought in by Rinpoche years ago when he came to this tropical country.

  57. verontung on Oct 15, 2012 at 2:55 pm

Malaysians especially us are very lucky to have Rinpoche bringing us to know more about Setrap.
Many people always are not aware that spirits are just everywhere.
No matter where we go, we might offended a spirit, you wont know. But as long as we are compassion and do not harm any beings, we are fine.
Thanks SP for sharing this wonderful story.

I have always enjoyed such tellings by Seng Piow. Straight forward and yet extremely uplifting and inspiring. It provides an immediate feel-good feeling.

    • Elena on Oct 15, 2012 at 6:30 pm

I agree with you The Yen! Simple, easy to understand, and very much like the ancient Buddhist tales that we’re used to seeing. It’s a very good way of showing people that Dharma and the Buddhas still have power in the modern world!

  59. Irene Lim on Oct 15, 2012 at 12:17 pm

I am not surprised by this snake spirit exorcism by Rinpoche. I have personally witnessed Rinpoche exorcised a spirit in a girl and after that exorcism, the girl who was sick attempted healing from other sources over 3 years was finally healed by Rinpoche at the first instant they met Rinpoche. The scene was exactly like the movie “exorcism”. But what I’d watched 20 years ago was real life exorcism performed by Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.

Thanks Seng Piow for sharing this wonderful story.
Anyway, here got another video relate to the story:

Setrap being the Dharma protector protects all irregardless of personal attributes. Doing Serkym offering to Setrap on a daily basis will definitely help in his practice. Thank you Rinpoche for bringing Setrap practice to us here in Malaysia.

The concept of rebirth has a long association with Buddhism. Rebirth in Buddhism refers to the teaching that the actions of a sentient being lead to a new existence after death, in an endless cycle called saṃsāra. One will begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual depending on the moral quality of the previous life’s actions. What they are reborn as depends on their actions in their previous life rather kamma. As a Buddhist we should believe in rebirth but still many people don’t . Buddha taught us that choices of rebirth make a difference and can shape many lifetimes. Buddhists believe that nothing that exists is permanent and everything will ultimately cease to be. There is a belief in rebirth

Against the odds two inspiring nuns fought all the way to become ordained, fighting for their rights to practice Buddhism . Interesting read of how they went through , bringing equality for women in Thailand. Buddhism is the predominant religion in Thailand. Officially, only men can become monks and novices in Thailand under a Buddhist order. The country does not recognize female monks or novices. In recent years, more Thai Buddhist women seeking to become full-fledged female monks, have been defying the tradition getting ordained overseas, in Sri Lanka or India. Buddhist women have been fighting for years for equality and social acceptance in Thailand. They just can’t be ordained by Thai monks. Ven. Dhammananda, 68 year old former university lecturer and activist became Thailand’s first Theravadin bhikkhuni after going the odds. Inspiring read biography on Ven. Dhammananda and Ven. Dr. Lee. They had gone through great hardships, discrimination and against the many odds in bringing equality to women in Buddhism in Thailand.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great inspiration post.

The unseen things are spiritual realities that are eternal and invisible to our physical eye. There are many forces and phenomena that are not visible to the naked eye. There are many things that humans cannot see yet there are some could see. For what is can be seen is only. Things do exist even we can’t see, believing their existence is our choice. Things that we can’t see in the world opens up a curiosity and exploration by some. Whether through scientific inquiry, or spiritual exploration, the pursuit of knowledge about the unseen can lead to profound insights about ourselves and the universe.
Malacca City is the historic capital of the coastal state of Malacca, in Malaysia serving as a link between east and west for over 500 years. Famous for breath-taking sights with rich heritage, ancient dark culture and history with many old centuries buildings with an interesting past and a colourful ghost story. For that reason alone it is worth visiting as is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site owing to its well-preserved historical center. There’s many historical mansions been passed down generation to generations and with many ghostly sighting by the locals and visitors. There’s the reason many unseen beings loitering and attached to these places. Such an interesting and incredibly creepy watching the video in this blog host by Li Kim. Li Kim had done a great work all along with her team to share with readers about our historic Malacca .
Thank you Rinpoche and Li Kim for this sharing.

Vajrayogini symbolizes the wisdom of all enlightened beings and embodies the impulse of inspiration that drives the Buddhas to attain the perfect enlightenment. Vajrayogini is one of the most effective practices for people today. We can make offerings such as gold or jewel offerings and so on. The offering of gold helps us to collect merits, spiritual attainments, gain a deeper connection to Vajrayogini. It also creates the causes to attain a Buddha’s body.
Make Offerings to Vajrayogini in Kechara Forest Retreat at Bentong is such an meritorious way for us to collect merits. All thanks to our Guru having conceptualised the idea of having a statue of Vajrayogini for everyone . Recitation of Vajrayogini mantra can be a powerful tool for self-transformation, healing and liberation from samsara.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing with details explanation .

Thank you, Rinpoche for sharing this insightful article. Life is short, and if we enjoy every moment of every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way. What ever matter to us at the time of death is nothing. In the end, it’s not the years in our life that count it’s what you leave behind that matters. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.Death is the golden key that opens the palace of eternity. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. Learning Dharma and practicing dharma is the our choice that’s matter. Some of the key points to take notes, read, study the Lam Rim and apply it, engage in Sadhana daily and consistently. No one will help us at the moment of death but ourselves. Spiritual practicing is the best choice.

Well the size of Buddha statues in Tibetan Buddhism is important because it represents the Buddha’s immense ability and vast knowledge. Hence the Buddha statues hold the symbol of satisfaction within, peace and happiness. They are a symbol of inspiration for every human being. When we focus on the Buddha statues, it gives us inner peace that our mind, our heart and our soul gets enlightened.
We have are so fortunate seeing and circumambulating where the 9-foot Dorje Shugden statue and with 500 mantra stones engraved with Dorje Shugden’s sacred mantra. As Rinpoche had said before the bigger and more Buddha statues helps in planting seeds of enlightenment in people’s mind-streams. It also help us to generate as much merit and purify as much karma as possible. Merely by seeing all those big statues at Kechara Forest Retreat is a blessing.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

The 4th Tagpu Pemavajra Jampel Tenpai Ngodrub, most commonly known as Tagpu Dorje Chang, was a highly accomplished yogi Highly attained lama who had many authentic visions of the Buddhas and even travel astrally to receive direct teachings from them. His recognised line of incarnations stem all the way back to the 14th Century. He is generally regarded as such amongst Gelug lineage holders. He spent most of his time in a hermitage located above Sera Monastery, gave teachings and transmitted many vital practices and lineages to his foremost student Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Besides receiving the complete instructions of Dorje Shugden’s practice, Tagpu Dorje Chang had many other mystical experiences throughout his lifetime. Interesting read biography of a highly accomplished mahasiddha lama.

n Tibetan culture, it is a popular and customary practice for families to invite monks to perform spiritual ceremonies such as Trusol rituals. The monks have had the opportunity to offer such ceremonies for individuals or their families. Such ceremonies purify the elements of the environment which helps those living or visiting there to experience good health, success and well-being. The sacred ritual of ‘bathing’ the Buddhas and consecration through which negativities, sicknesses and obstacles will be cleared. Where by filling those areas with positive energies and good vibes through this Trusol consecration puja. Water is an essential part of this puja and symbolises the cleansing of all negativities and impurities. Through this puja it also pacifies local deities and other unseen beings in the surrounding areas. We are indeed fortunate that Tsem Rinpoche has taught Kecharians this practice and it has benefited many.

Reading this post had me gain some knowledge of Shifter Werewolves. Any article regarding rare creatures or paranormal articles are of my interest since young. In European folklore, a werewolf is a man who turns into a wolf at night and devours animals, people, or corpses but returns to human form by day. They have the ability to transform from an ordinary human appearance to a partially-lupine form with pointed ears, mutton chops, claws and fangs, and a ridged brow . Wow… werewolf tends to be vicious and unable to control his blood thirst. Their underlying common origin can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European mythology. In many depictions, these bloodthirsty beasts are evil where they kill animals and innocent people. They are humans who transition into wolf-like creatures, after being placed under a curse. In folklore, most werewolves originate from being cursed or bitten by another werewolf. That’s what they do believe. According many enthusiasts, there’s many different type of werewolves such as Alpha wolves, Beta wolves , Deltas, Elders, some survive as loners while others move in packs. How true it is no one knows. I do believe their existing . Many interesting stories related to these wolves in the past history.

Beautiful Dorje Shugden at Malacca. One should pay a visit there, located at a busy tourist place. It was such an auspicious occasion that a grand Puja was held there. Dedicated students and volunteers were there getting the place ready for the grand puja. Well the Grand Dorje Shugden puja was conducted by very own Kechara puja team to commemorate the chapel’s 3rd anniversary. Many people attended the Puja that’s wonderful to receive the powerful Protector Dorje Shugden blessings. More people will make a connection and get to know Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, in the form of a Dharma Protector. May Dorje Shugden’s practice flourish to benefit those tourists and locals.

Venerable Geshe Rabten Rinpoche is a highly realised meditation master known as a debater, scholar, and meditation master, was the first Tibetan Buddhist master to introduce the complete Vinaya-tradition. He had also introduce the study of the five major topics of Buddhism to the West. He became the ‘path breaker’ of the complete and complex teachings of Buddhism in the West. Many masters, who are famous in the West today, were Geshe’s students. enerable Geshe Rabten. Geshe Rabten wrote the beautiful and Manjushri’s prayer called Gangloma and gave a profound explanation. We are so fortunate to learn about this Manjushri’s sacred prayer. May all be blessed by the practice of Lord Manjushri and Geshe Rabten’s explanation.

The begging bowl or alms bowl is one of the simplest but most important objects in the daily lives of Theravada Buddhist monks. The alms bowl still stands as an emblem of how all Buddhas, as numerous as grains of sand in the Ganges, practiced to end their desire. All those who receive the alms bowl should focus their mind to act with self-control and self-respect. Almsgiving is a tradition of Theravada Buddhists, majority in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Laos. In those early days of Buddhism, monks would take their bowls and go out begging for food. As today in Thailand one could see monks woke up before dawn every morning and carried his bowl through the roads or paths wherever he was staying. Local people would place food in the bowl as a donation, through the generosity of lay people. They accept whatever food is offered for them and eat whatever been given, serve as a blessing for the giver.
One bowl has held the food of a thousand families. A solitary monastic travels on his journey of a hundred thousand miles seeking liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Thank you H.E. Tsem Rinpoche for explaining the meaning of begging and gave us more reasons to be vegetarian . Create a awareness among us not killing animals to be one.

Ajahn Siripanyo, the son of billionaire Ananda Krishnan, chose to abandon his inheritance and become a Buddhist monk in pursuit of spirituality. A Thai-Malaysian monk born in London and educated in UK. He was ordained in Thailand and lived there, leaving behind a life of immense wealth and privilege. He did surprised many and his choice was unexpected. Initially as a temporary measure, but somehow later evolved into a permanent way of life. Ven. Ajahn Siripanyo is now the Abbot of hermitage Dtao Dam on the Thai-Burmese border in Saiyok National Park, Thailand.
He was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia years back giving an enthralling Dhamma talk on the timeless teachings of Ajahn Chah.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

Different food offerings offered on Penang Kechara Chapel's altar behalf of the sponsors. May sponsors' wishes be fulfilled. Great effort from Choong Soon Heng, one of our Kechara Penang dedicated members who thought of this way for people to generate merits while clearing obstacles. Uploaded by Jacinta.
