The Search Is On For China’s Own Bigfoot

Scientists and explorers from China are seeking international help to launch a widespread hunt for the country’s answers to Sasquatch, known as the “Yeren,” or “wild man.”
At least 400 people have reported sightings of the Yeren — a half-man, half-ape creature — in a remote, mountainous region in the central province of Hubei, according to state news agency Xinhua.
After several expeditions were conducted in the 70s and 80s – with findings of hair, footprints, excrement and a nesting area suspected of belonging to the beast – there was never any solid proof of its existence.
Eyewitnesses describe the creature as walking upright, more than 6-feet 7-inches tall and having gray, red or black hair all over its body, Xinhua said.
Now, scientists from the Hubei Wild Man Research Association are asking for volunteers from around the world to come join the latest expedition to hunt down the elusive Yeren.
Luo Baosheng, vice president of the research group, said there will be a lot of hard work involved and they are looking for devoted team members to join in the search.
The team, however, needs to come up with $1.5 million US (10 million Yuan) before they can begin, and is talking to companies and other agencies to come up with the funding. Until funding is appropriated, the group says there is no timetable set for when the search may begin, Xinhua reported.
China has had its share of cryptozoological tales, from Loch Ness monster-like creatures living in remote lakes, to the famed Abominable Snowman or “Yeti” living in the high mountainous regions of Tibet.

This documentary contains an excellent explanation on the Patterson-Gimlin footage of Bigfoot dubbed Patty. It goes through scientific methods to prove the image on the film is authentic. Please watch and be convinced finally. I’ve always believed the footage was genuine. Mr. Gimlin in all the interviews I’ve watched seemed very genuine and suffered tremendously as a result of the footage.

Bigfoot or Yeti or Sasquatch or Wild man is known by many titles with many different cultures. These creatures is a large, hairy, humanlike creature believed by some people to exist in the United States and Canada. Other nations tell of a large creature much like a man but imbued with special powers and characteristics. In China they called these creatures as Yeren or wild man. Over the years sighting of these creatures were common. Visual sightings and even alleged photographs and filming have also contributed to the legend, though none of the purported evidence has been verified.
The sightings of the Yeren or wild men in China are on a renewed quest for Chinese scientist to hunt for the Yeren or wild man. Over the years people have reported hundreds of sightings. Chinese researchers looking for the mysterious creature discovered a possible ‘Wild Man’ sleeping nest, hair, and footprints. Interesting. Scientific evidence for the existence of a modern-day Yeren may be proving elusive. In one very real sense, however, Yeren does exist. I do believe these creatures exist and are alleged to inhabit various regions throughout the world.

In 1967, Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson stumbled across an incredible sight whilst out in Bluff Creek, in the California wilderness. At a creek which had been freshly washed-out by recent floods, they witnessed a female Bigfoot swiftly traverse the rugged landscape. Since their filmed encounter with the Bigfoot, who has since been nicknamed Patty, many have disputed the authenticity of their recording but no one has been able to successfully prove that it is a fake.

Interesting …. it seem that more than 400 people have reported sightings of the half-man, half-ape known to them as Yeren or Bigfoot in a remote, mountainous forested area in China. Despite a lack of any conclusive scientific evidence, China’s Bigfoot believers maintain to this day that such a creature does exist. There are similar reports of these creatures been sighted all over the world in America, Bhutan, Himalayan regions and so forth. The most influential sighting occurred in 1976, has sparked the interest of Chinese scientist to look for more evidence of the strange and rare creatures. They maintains that the Yeren are some species of unknown primates. China continues the search for the Yeren, in much the same way that Bigfoot is sought in the United States and else where.

I find it odd that a monk would be interested in things like Bigfoot but fascinated that China is also searching.
Could you explain to me how you know you are the reincarnation of Tsem Kentrul Thubten Lamsang? And please explain how I would learn from whom or what I was incarnated from? I’m in Ohio in the U.S. and no one wants to discuss these things.

Dear Rinpoche, I wonder who wrote that three gigantic Chinese words in red on the cliff on the picture above and how did they manage to write the gigantic words on the cliff? I think the beast that researchers are looking for might be a different species of Yeti. I hope the researchers have found any information about the Yeren.
