You touched me Albert!!!
Dear Albert,
I am surprised you presented me a watch. You didn’t strike me as a generous person or a person who observes what others would need when you first joined. You struck me as very careful.
Your card says that you noticed I always give my watches away to people who need it and you are right. I do. And I enjoy doing that. I’ve been doing that for years. I enjoy giving people what they need and I’ve trained myself to be observant about this. It’s part of my practice.
So you got me a watch as a spare just in case I give away my current one and don’t have a spare. Fantastic consideration!!! You are very generous ‘now’ or rather express it openly. I say this humbly to you…And observant too! Also you have good taste. I love the watch you gave me. If fits me perfectly and also it’s my taste. The size is just right too. You put a lot of thought and care into this. Touching. You touched my heart deeply.
Thank you for transforming, being observant and caring and ‘now’ generous in an open way.
I appreciate everything about the watch and the meaning behind it. I appreciate you and your genuine transformation. I appreciate your generosity.

Looking back at this post and the person that I know of, Albert Rachaga is now a Pastor where he joined the esteemed and knowledgable Pastors in Kechara and I truly rejoice for him. Thanks for the example Pastor Albert.

Dear Albert, you pleased and touched Rinpoche by your care and concern for details, when you bought him a watch. it was your observation of details about Rinpoche that led you to buy a watch which fitted him well and which was to his taste.
However, going beyond that, what brought Rinpoche great joy was your transformation,from a careful person, when it came to people and gifts, to a person who shows sincerety from the heart and , in giving, you give openly, not holding back.
I rejoice for you and for your transformation.

That’s so sweet of Albert. His short letter to Rinpoche too was very thoughtful and sweet. It was very generous and thoughtful of Albert and I hope it benefits Rinpoche greatly or the next person Rinpoche offers it to. A lot of thought and care was put into this and it shows. Good job! It doesn’t take big or expensive things to make the Lama happy or pleased. Simple things from the heart moves the Lama like moving mountains as a real Lama only seeks a mind that is transformed through kindness, compassion and maturity.
Here, Albert has been a stunning example of making offerings of his transformation, symbolic in the form of a watch to his Lama. We should always continuously make offerings to our Guru who is the embodiment of the 3 Jewels and all the virtues we wish to become. From making offerings to the Guru, we reap the highest results because the Lama accepts them directly, purifies them through Tantric means and then offers them up to the Buddhas for our benefit.
As it is stated in the Guru Panchasika, the 50 verses of Guru Devotion, making continual offerings to the Guru is same as making offerings to the Buddhas.

How thoughtful of you to select what Rinpoche needs.
Sometimes other people simply buy things without knowing whether Rinpoche needs it or not (i don’t mean to say other peoples gifts is useless)but Albert selected this watch so carefully.
Rinpoche is correct Albert is careful.

Dear Rinpoche, You looked so funny and cute in the first picture on above and the watch that Albert gave to Rinpoche was very nice. The letter that Albert wrote to Rinpoche is very sweet. I know that Albert can’t do the best for Rinpoche but at least he tried his best. Also, sometimes Albert is very fun to joke with.
Albert is extremely kind and aware to be able to notice that Rinpoche will give watches to people 😀 He put so much effort in choosing the right gift for Rinpoche and I rejoice. It is extremely thoughtful and other people should do the same.

I remember talking to him about this gift. He was debating if he should present this watch to Rinpoche as he told me that another student of Rinpoche’s bought Rinpoche a watch too. Albert waited till his payday and this is the first thing he bought immediately after. =)

We greatly rejoice for you Albert, knowing you of course to be a very careful, generous as well as thoughtful person,but least of all miserly! As described in this blog, Albert’s generosity and other virtues are expressed in the beautiful gift-watch offered to Rinpoche, which touches Rinpoche’s heart. When he first joined Kechara, he admitted did not submit to Buddhism very much, but only to fulfill some sort of selfishneeds he had! All these have ultimately changed since he met Rinpoche and learned about his teachings. Even Rinpoche has observed his wonderful transformation. Albert has shown to us all here, that becoming spiritual is a worthy but complex endeavour, which needs the loving-kindness, compassion and priceless guidance from an expertised and diligent Guru to help us pull through and change our life for the better permanently.
What a wonderful and thoughtful gift to Rinpoche. The meaning behind the gift is important and the transformation as well. It is not easy. Rejoice to Albert
Albert has been a really fun and hilarious friend, great to know that he has transformed a lot and is working towards becoming a better human being. I’m very happy and pround to have him as a friend and he has really great taste! Hehehe..

Albert has always been sweet since the day I knew him. Always helpful and has a smile on his face. Rinpoche said that day that you have transformed to be giving and caring. Very happy for your transformation.
Rinpoche’s teachings had certainly permeated in to Albert’s dharma practice for he changed from an “ungenerous” and “careful” to being “generous” and can express “openly”.

What a wonderful gift that Albert has given Rinpoche. The gift is not so much the actual watch but the thought behind it, the effort that Albert went to when looking for the right watch, and to think that Rinpoche might need a spare one shows that Albert knows how Rinpoche always gives away his own things. I rejoice for Albert that he shows such care and love to Rinpoche!
Careful is the precise word as used by Rinpoche to describe Albert and not miserly. I dare opine this of Albert because I work with Albert since he joined Kechara at the retail outlets.
When he initially worked as a temp, he said he does not subscribe to Buddhism or any other religion. But now Albert not only believes in the dharma but is practicing it by making offering to Rinpoche to collect vast amount of merit and to oppose miserliness through generosity. I rejoice.
wow! Albert present Rinpoche a watch to make it as a spare one for Rinpoche. It shows that Albert knows Rinpoche’s style well and he is caring enough to ‘work’ along the way with Rinpoche by preparing something for Rinpoche.

Nice gift, Albert! It’s very thoughtful of you to present Rinpoche such a watch. Rinpoche always say, it is not the gift that matters, but the effort, thought and care that was put towards offering this gift is what touches Rinpoche the most.
I mean, it is quite logical actually, take for example… would we like our partner to cook us nice dinner, or just get it off the rack in some fast food store? There’s a difference, and the difference is how much we care for the other person.
Rejoined for you, Albert. You really put much effort in choosing an offering for Rinpoche. Nowander Rinpoche is so happy with your offering.^^
