Caring Rinpoche bought new glasses for students

(By Pastor Loh Seng Piow)

Last night H.E. Tsem Rinpoche personally brought a few students out to buy new glasses for them, three students got three pairs of glasses, and Rinpoche made sure that they got the high quality ones which are durable, impact-resistant, with glasses that will prevent eye-fatigue from prolonged computer work. Rinpoche always goes all out to take care of his students, this is just a small part of it.

Rinpoche never stops caring for all his students. Every little need is well taken care of. Who else next to your parents will do this for you? We learn from here that we should always take care of others, and not be the selfish person.

Giving is always in Rinpoche’s mind, he always give the best so his students can practice Dharma and serve others with much hassle free.

Generousity is consider a generousity when you give not just only money, but taking effort to find out what they really need. When Rinpoche send a gift to someone, he will always thought well and observe to see what they need instead of just giving simply. Rinpoche is always the best example of generousity for us to follow or anyone else to follow. the incomparable kind of generousity and kindness.

Giving is the practice of one of the Six Paramitas:
This paramita is the enlightened quality of generosity, charity, giving, and offering. The essence of this paramita is unconditional love, a boundless openness of heart and mind, a selfless generosity and giving which is completely free from attachment and expectation. From the very depths of our heart, we practice generously offering our love, compassion, time, energy, and resources to serve the highest welfare of all beings. Giving is one of the essential preliminary steps of our practice. Our giving should always be unconditional and selfless; completely free of any selfish desire for gratitude, recognition, advantage, reputation, or any worldly reward. The perfection of generosity is not accomplished simply by the action of giving, nor by the actual gift itself. Rather, the true essence of this paramita is our pure motivation of genuine concern for others—the truly generous motivation of the awakened heart of compassion, wisdom, and love. In addition, our practice of giving should be free of discrimination regarding who is worthy and who is unworthy to receive. To cultivate the paramita of generosity, it is wise to contemplate the enormous benefits of this practice, the disadvantages of being miserly, as well as the obvious fact that our body and our wealth are impermanent. With this in mind, we will certainly be encouraged to use both our body and wealth to practice generosity while we still have them. Generosity is a cure for the afflictions of greed, miserliness, and possessiveness. In this practice of giving, we may offer our time, energy, money, food, clothing, or gifts so as to assist others. To the best of our ability, we may offer the priceless treasure of Dharma instruction, giving explanations on the Buddha’s teachings. This offering serves to free others from misperceptions that cause confusion, pain, and suffering. We can offer fearless giving and protection by delivering living beings (insects, animals, and people) from harm, distress, fear, and terror. In this way, we offer care and comfort, helping others to feel safe and peaceful. We do this selflessly, without counting the cost to ourselves. We practice the perfection of generosity in an especially powerful way when we embrace all living beings continually in the radiant love of our heart.

Rinpoche’s generosity is limitless and it is as stable as a gushing water always giving to those who need his help.

This is so nice and caring of Rinpoche, Rinpoche never rests to take care of his students well-being. It be thier health both mentally and physically. Not only just teaching us the dharma but also shows us by example. His love and compassion for every living being is endless and never ceases to amaze people. I’m really happy to see Rinpoche’s students receiving very high quality spectacles, these specs would take care of their eyes and induce less strain on them. They work really hard to spread dharma and they deserve it. Thank you for sharing with us your kindness Rinpoch. I hope your back is feeling well. O

Glasses are so important, I know how it changes a lot to have proper glasses…
Especially if one spends long hours in front of a computer…

  22. Lim Han Nee on Jun 28, 2013 at 7:23 pm

Rinpoche never stops in his care and love of others. From his continuous showering of love on Mumu and Oser and Dharma and the other pets in his aviary and the Ladrang, to the 3 am vigil with Sonam(whom Rinpoche and other Kecharians had rescued and who had lost a leg and had a maggot-infested wound)on the highway, from looking after the Nepalese boys working in the Ladrang to looking after his personal attendants and students who are close to him. Even oversea visitors of his blog are showered with gifts and care. Also, strangers he meets in places like restaurants, also feel the impact of his care and kindness. Even needy people on the street are taken care of by Rinpoche in times of haze, with the distribution of face-masks and eye-drops.

This post demonstrates Rinpoche’s love and care (like a mother for her only child – as is said in the Lamrim),with so much empathy for others, which is always a component present in Rinpoche’s care. Hence, he makes sure the glasses are of high quality, are impact-resistant as well as ensure protection from fatigue arising from prolonged exposure to the computer.

Thank you Rinpoche for showing us how to show kindness and how to repay kindness.

  23. Jutika Lam on Jun 28, 2013 at 4:29 pm

No matter who close to Rinpoche any student is Rinpoche never fails to give and reward those working in the Organisation regardless whether Rinpoche knows them very well or just came to know of a particular person who has just joined.

Even the people that learnt of Rinpoche overseas or through YouTube and have never personally met Rinpoche before have also gotten gifts from Rinpoche,

Everywhere Rinpoche goes Rinpoche is always on the look out for gifts and presents for anyone in Kechara, as well as for the people overseas.

Even I personally have received so many gifts for Rinpoche, ranging from books, toys, healthy food, statues and so many more!

    Thank you Rinpoche for everything!!!

  24. David Lai on Jun 27, 2013 at 7:46 pm

Yes, the 3 of them is just one of the many that Rinpoche takes care of intimately. In the past, Rinpoche had also bought me many of the top-most range of glasses. Rinpoche had bought me beautiful clothes, the MacBook Pro laptop that I am using right now, a large downpayment for my new car – the MyVi so I don’t have to pay a large monthly repayment, hundreds of Dharma books, my dental surgery, many top most range of handphones, a holiday to Singapore and Bali and tens of thousands of ringgits in pocket money, food and little other expensive gifts.

Rinpoche never expected the gifts to be reciprocated in kind but would from time to time remind me to be grateful for what I have and to reciprocate the kindness of others. Rinpoche’s generosity is always meant to inspire and to encourage us to practice the Dharma and work harder for others. Then, you multiply this with many of the closer students and then for Kechara as a whole, Rinpoche is always on the lookout to inspire and touch someone’s heart so they enter the Dharma, practice the Dharma and do more for others.

This is again another of the many posts showing the never ending compassion side of Rinpoche who is always thinking of how to help and take care of those near and far. A good leader by example, Rinpoche is instilling in us how to be generous and compassionate. This is how compassionate Rinpoche is, not only does he provided us a place for our spiritual practice, he makes sure that worldly needs are taken care of as well.

Thank you, Rinpoche, for your care and kindness as always and through practice may we be able to gain these good qualities like Rinpoche.

Thanks for sharing this Seng Piow.. people often wonder what keeps Tsem Rinpoche so busy and it is wonderful for you to share this with everyone so they can know what goes on behind the scenes. Why Rinpoche is so busy is that he is always looking out for his students and what they need. By doing so, Rinpoche is showing the perfect example of caring for others and is something his students can emulate.

Rinpoche has always been very nice and caring to most of the people, even we have been receiving gifts, books, love and all sorts of stuffs from Rinpoche. We are really grateful about that, Rinpoche just never stopped caring about people. The things that Rinpoche give to others aren’t cheap stuff as well, because Rinpoche wants to make sure that all of the things that will be given away are in good conditions, high qualities as well as they are durable. I can’t think of anyone else who would do that, of course except my parents.
May Rinpoche live long and continue to spread Dharma globally.
Thanm You for sharing Seng Piow.

  31. Jessica Yap on Jun 26, 2013 at 9:40 pm

Every single thing that Rinpoche does is to benefit others. From distributing masks, to feeding doggies, to buying glasses for His students! This is truly the nature of a Buddha! I had my fair share of gifts from Rinpoche and I am truly humbled to be able to receive and only take from Rinpoche.

Rinpoche’s compassion truly knows no boundaries. To say that Rinpoche is an inspiration would be an understatement. And all Rinpoche wants in return isn’t lavish and expensive gifts but the transformation of our minds.

    Thank you for sharing,Seng Piow

and Thank you Rinpoche for Rinpoche’s loving kindness always!

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for all the care, love and support you’ve given to me all these years as a whole and more importantly, the Dharma that you’ve showered on me.

One of the biggest lessons I am learning is on kindness, being able to give it and also receive kindness. By doing this, Rinpoche is instilling a beautiful virtue which when practiced by the masses contribute towards a better society.

Cherishing the moments and gifts from Rinpoche, I hope to better myself through practice.

    Love,
    JJ

  33. Sean Wang on Jun 26, 2013 at 5:07 pm

Rinpoche is always showing that he cares for his students when he does things like this. Rinpoche does not just view his students as students but rather he views them as people close to his heart. Only Rinpoche would do these sorts of things for others without any separate agendas.

  34. Joy on Jun 26, 2013 at 3:13 am

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you so much for making me a pair of good glasses. Yes Rinpoche has always consistently given and showed to so many of his students love and care in so many different ways. Rinpoche’s cares is more than a friend and even more than a parent because Rinpoche not only physically, financially cares for his students but Rinpoche gives us something no money can ever buy… Dharma.

I know for a fact that if I did not meet Rinpoche and did not receive any Dharma, today I will not be able to know what is the true meaning of living and living in peace. Every single thing Rinpoche does is always for the benefit of others. All Rinpoche ever wanted for any of is become better humans induced with conscientious care of others.

Thank you Rinpoche for teaching us all how to live a meaningful, purposeful life…. I am forever indebted to you and I will repay Rinpoche’s kindness by constantly improving my self to be a better human being.

    With gratitude yours,
    Joy

  35. Bryan Ho on Jun 26, 2013 at 2:57 am

Yes Rinpoche brought a group of us to get new glasses 2 days ago. Rinpoche have been giving us almost everything, the dharma, the care and now even glasses.

This is what Rinpoche does behind the scene most of the time. As long as Rinpoche knows someone need something, Rinpoche will personally choose it for him/her. And Rinpoche will choose the most suitable gifts for the particular one, because Rinpoche observe what we like and what will suit us the best.

For myself as example, Rinpoche bought me clothes, watch, medicines, even mouth wash before. When any festival is around the corner, Rinpoche will brought us to shopping and buy new clothes and some goodies for our family members. The reason being is Rinpoche want us to be ok, and also Rinpoche want our family to know we are well take care of and they will give us their support on our dharma practice/work.

This is how compassionate our lama is, he provided us a place to do our spiritual practice, a salary, make sure we are ok, this is the best way to stay and learn, what else do we want more right.

Many people from oversea need to go through a lot of obstacles to get Dharma, but in Kechara, all being serve on silver plate, this is really heaven on earth.

Thanks Rinpoche again for all the kindness and may you always be with us, and may all of us gain the same kindness, generosity, compassion just like you.

  36. Sofi on Jun 25, 2013 at 11:35 pm

Rinpoche shows not only care but also into the minute details, which is a good example for us in terms of mindfulness. Its not simply only new glasses, but high quality, impact resistance and especially prevention of eye-fatigue. It really shows the extent and depth of his care and love towards his students. Thank you Rinpoche and you always remain with us for a very, very long time.

  37. May Ong on Jun 25, 2013 at 11:03 pm

Tsem Rinpoche does it again – by being Caring, Kind and Generous with his students all the time consistently.

A kind reminder from Rinpoche to us to be kind, caring and generous with our time, effort and generosity.

Rinpoche is always caring and kind! This post is one of the many that shows how Rinpoche always think about others not matter when or where. It is just NEVER ENDING.
As it is, I just got a bag from Rinpoche today! Even as a High Lama, Rinpoche always think of ways to make sure we are ok and well taken care of. Thank you Rinpoche for everything!

  39. Julien Roth on Jun 25, 2013 at 10:39 pm

Rinpoche is so kind. He actually cares a lot for others. And this is the proof. I dont know any other person who would personally go out with three people to go and get new glasses for them, and these aren’t even the cheap glasses. These are the glasses that are good quality and are meant to live long. And knowing glasses, they are not cheap. Thank you for sharing Rinpoche.

  40. Lucas Roth on Jun 25, 2013 at 9:44 pm

Buddhism is one of the fastest growing religions in the west and have spreading further , all thanks to those highly lamas such as Gaden Tripas, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, Lama Yeshe, Geshe Wangyal, Kensur Lobsang Tharchin, Geshe Rabten, and so forth. Many people more people are becoming more aware of Buddhism and finding it a suitable way of life and religion. With the great spread of Buddhism, many people had benefitted with the practice as it emphasized individuals’ path to enlightenment and salvation, which could be attained in this life.

The Legend of the Mermaid is well known and told with different forms and endings in all the oral tradition of peoples linked to the sea. It was rumored that the mermaid has a magical treasure. In folklore, a mermaid is an aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish. Mermaids appear in the folklore of many cultures worldwide. Interesting read mermaids were natural beings who, like fairies, who had magical and prophetic powers. We usually see it as in movie whether it do really exists no one have really seen it nowadays. While there is no evidence that mermaids exist outside folklore, reports of mermaid sightings continue to the present day. Mermaids have been a popular subject of art and literature in recent centuries. They depicted in operas, paintings, books and live-action films.

A Dorje Shugden shop full of beautiful items which were connected to Dorje Shugden as such as posters, statues, pendants, tsa tsas, books, key chains, thangkas and so forth. Located in the most famous night market in the heart city of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. There’s where tourists and local will go over there. Many of them will be blessed merely b looking at it or passing by the shop. Posters will be given to anyone who stop by , its such a wonderful way to share and get people to know of this great Dharma Protector.

Trance is a state of semi-consciousness in which a person is not self-aware. The person is in a deep state of distraction by some inner turmoil or some outer mental influence. Taking trance is nothing new and not just in the east. Listening the video tells us more about trance. Interesting to know, but we should not get involve in trances as advice. Its better get involve in Dharma practice and have our mind transform.

Observe good faith and justice toward everyone nor matter what religion and faith, regardless of race and religion creates peace and harmony . Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance. Living our lives selflessly, treating others with respect, sharing the extra that comes to us with others who have been short-changed.

Interesting read of a great Tibetan spiritual leader, Buddhist scholar and the fourth of the Five Sakya Forefathers. Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltshen founded the Sakya school and one of Tibet’s most learned sages in Tibet, India, Mongolia and China. Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltshen have been an emanation of Manjusri, the embodiment of the wisdom of all the Buddha. Wow…… proficient in the five great sciences of Buddhist philosophy, medicine, grammar, dialectics and sacred Sanskrit literature.
He was even talented in minor sciences of rhetoric, synonymies, poetry, music, dancing and astrology. Sakya Paṇḍita was a religious hierarch by birth. Sakya Pandita experienced an extraordinary teaching in his dreams and had many clairvoyant and clear dreams.
Interesting read of the biography of a great Lama’s spiritual journey.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

Studies show that light pollution is also impacting animal behaviours, such as migration patterns, wake-sleep habits, and habitat formation. Noise is a source of stress. It triggers reactions in the body, light pollution can alter behaviours, sound and light affect the environment and also our daily lives. With their expertise, a radiant energy scientist, a sound healer, an energy healer and a music composer, did an enlightening experiment to determine where the surrounding environment having negatives energy. All through the colour generated in the sparks which confirms the presence of supernatural beings.I do believe those unseen beings do exist.

Beautiful pictures paints a thousands words of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche. Those rare pictures shared ultimate sophistication of the relationship between the two great leaders.
Back in the 20th century Jawaharlal Nehru an Indian anti-colonial nationalist, statesman, secular humanist, social democrat was very kind to receive them both. Looking at the rare pictures says all.
Its such awesome watching the rare video of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche visiting India together. Visiting sacred places Buddhist sites of India together, and even having state dinner .

nspiring read of the power sacred feminine Maha Pajapati Gotami, founder of the Order of Nuns. She was the foster-mother, step-mother and maternal aunt of the Buddha. In Buddhist tradition, she was the first woman to seek ordination for women, which she did from Gautama Buddha directly, and she became the first bhikkhuni.
Mahapajapati lived to be around 120 years old. Having such an eminent position in the sangha, she would have had hundreds of nuns under her care, helping them realize the Truth. Perplexingly, the Buddha continued to have doubts about admitting women into the women’s order right up until his death. Mahapajapati had played an important role preserving the dharma taught by Buddha Shakyamuni.
Truly inspired by Mahaprajapati Gotami’s story.
Thank you Rinpoche with folded hands.

Area 51 is a U.S. military base that has become synonymous all this while. There’s a possibility recording to many could be a government cover-ups and potentially a place of testing alien. Its always a secret behind this Nevada base also known as Area 51 and is often the subject of alien conspiracy theories. The facility is next to two other restricted military areas, what goes on inside and around is extremely secret. No one are allowed to visit and are kept away by warning signs, electronic surveillance and armed guards. According to the US military, the intense secrecy area is the training range for US nuclear weapons. It has never been declared a secret base and under 24-hour surveillance. Many people have reported seeing unidentified flying objects in or near Area 51. That’s interesting. And the popular image of the place is a secret site for extra-terrestrial research.

A card and hard disc from Sean Wang was truly a smart idea afterall. Nobody could imagine such idea but he did it. Placing thumb drives with millions and billions of Vajrayogini her holy mantra in Tibetan into the holy statue. Not only that drawing pictures too . Such a great idea whereby people come to make offerings, prostrate, circumambulate, collecting huge amount of merits for themselves and their love ones. Thanks to Sean Wang/

Reading this blog kindly reminded us of the most cherished people in our lives that’s our parents. Mother’s Day that is on this Sunday 12th of May and Father’s Day falls on the third Sunday in June. Teachers Day too important ……a day to honour and recognise their roles in our lives. Rinpoche always emphasised that we should not avoid the responsibility of repaying the kindness of the people who have helped us in our life. The only true way to honour and repay their kindness is to let them know that their kindness meant a lot to us . Do something good for them or someone else as this practice ultimately gives enormous power and possibilities for positive effects in many lives not just our own life. Simple saying thank you and expressing our appreciation can go a long way.
Reading all those powerful quotes by Rinpoche gives us a lesson and example.
Thank you Rinpoche and writers team for sharing

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
