Rinpoche helps Clinic in Monastery

The Gaden Shartse hospital is a project conceived by the previous Abbot, H.E. Khensur Rinpoche and was founded more than 5 years ago under the charge of Geshe Jangchub Dorje, the hospital director.
Although the building had been completed, there were no funds to furnish it, to purchase supplies or medicines and for a short while, the hospital was running using furniture and appliances from Geshe-la own home. After an urgent appeal for help, H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and his students raised RM290,000 for the hospital to become fully operational; this includes furniture, equipment, medicines and other necessary items.
The hospital now provides both Western and Tibetan medical services (including consultation from renowned Tibetan medical practitioner Dr Drolkar) and has treated more than 15,000 patients since its first day of operation. Consultation and medication is free for all monks and the truly needy.
The lay population is charged only 50% of cost. The hospital also regularly conducts Medicine Buddha pujas here to bless the medicines before distributing to patients.

Tsem Rinpoche has supported many projects for monastery. Helping to raise funds for the Gaden Shartse hospital . The Gaden Shartse hospital is a project conceived two and a half years ago by the current Abbot, H.E. Khen Rinpoche. But due to lack of funds to furnish, purchase supplies and medicines it was not in operation. Renowned for his charitable works such as building schools, hospitals and providing assistance and food to the poor and underprivileged, Tsem Rinpoche and his students raised hundred thousand for the hospital to become fully operational.

This is just another example of what Tsem Rinpoche has done for the monastery. Rinpoche is truly a Bodhisattva. He has others’ concern over his own and wherever he goes, he benefits others in whatever way he can. This is just incredible because of the amount that Rinpoche gives, teaches, benefits and does for others. It simply blows ones mind especially if one is in close contact with Rinpoche. Rinpoche is just an incredible person… A great being or a Mahasattva like how Setrap had proclaimed Rinpoche in his recognition papers.
So happy to know that this hospital fully operate after Rinpoche raised fund for them. May all the Sangha have a healthy body and able to learn and spread Dharma to others . Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.
The hospital has treated many from the Sangha and local community. Conveniently located, it is within the reach of the monks and nearby residents of the villages, thus making it easy for treatment to be dispensed,

Wonderful and Rejoicing news for Medicine Buddha to be chanted on the Medicines. Medicine buddha mantra is very powerful to help us overcome illnesses.
Rinpoche got what he loves the most in life, that is Dharma, and all these is due to Gaden Monastery, Rinpoche has very strong affinity with Gaden Monastery, he first met his Root Guru in LA until later he went to Gaden Monastery, Rinpoche studied Dharma from there and continue his Dharma practice from the monastery.
After so many years away from Gaden Monastery, but not even one day Rinpoche forget about Gaden, whenever Gaden needed any help, Rinpoche always go all the way to serve the monastery. Because of Rinpoche got what he love from the monastery, hence, he also wanted to extend this to more and more people to come. Rinpoche never kept what’s best for him, in fact, he always try his best to give it all out to other people, this blog is one best example, Rinpoche created this blog is because he wanted to share with everyone of what he learned so that many people can be benefited from his knowledge.

Thank you Seng Piow for sharing this. If I have the financial support I would like to do what Rinpoche is doing to serve the social community, providing welfare to the needy and also emphasis community getting education, for female I would like to do the same like what Oprah Winfrey has done, building and giving education to girls and aid them in anyway and form. Rinpoche is my inspiration on how one can serve the community in a better and wider way.
This is incredibly beautiful, Rinpoche has told us before how he felt when his Gurus and Monks who were sick found it very hard to seek treatment because of financial issues or the nearest help available was too much of a distance for them to travel to. Despite the fact of the obstacles Rinpoche personally helped to raise funds from what little he had traveling himself to buy medicines or any essential needs to keep his Guru comfortable. Rinpoche understands and doesn’t want monks or the public to suffer these kind of difficulties and does what ever he can to help. Dear Rinpoche, it is good to have a clinic in Monasteries because Monasteries are build very far away from town or village. So when there is monk who are very sick then they don’t have to worry about going so far to get medicines.
