Letter-card from Jordan and Andrea Wong
Such incredibly cute cards handmade from kids to me. Amazing. I love the artwork, the imagination and creativity. So very touching. I love these cards and I wanted to share with everyone.
Kids are great. We have to give them love, positive environments, nurture them and help them to grow into something beneficial for others and for themselves. Kids are such beautiful opportunities for us to bring back our own imagination and innocence.

Kids from a tender age are basically a blank canvass and as they grow up, they look mainly to their parents for food, shelter, guidance and discipline. It is because of this early imprint, many kids grow up with similar characteristics with their parents. Hence, besides exposing their kids to the Dharma, it is also the responsibility of the parents to go into the Dharma and really practice. In that way, the kids will be directly influenced into the Dharma that way.
Hence, both the children and the parents have their own roles to play. Children who are exposed to the Dharma should listen to the parents and be filial kids and excel in school. They should hang out with good company and never disobey their parents. It is recommended for children to do Manjushri’s mantra – “Om Ah Ra Pa Tsa Na Dhi” as this would help bestow good memory, intelligence and a blessing to differentiate good and bad actions. Little retreats and daily prayers would be good for parents and children to do together as an excellent way to spend quality time.
I believe kids at tender age is malleable. Is good if they start young in dharma education. It is the best time to plant the seed of compassion so that they can grow up with great potential to benefit others and fulfill the purpose of this precious human body.
I read a magazine some time ago, and there was this question a journalist posed to a lama if the golden boy is in fact a genuine Rinpoche and the lama answered that even if the boy is not what he is, the training programme that will be drilled into him will make him one. I do not know if I should believe in this statement.
