Do you want to be successful?
Do you have that one person in your life who seem to achieve so much in one day when you can hardly achieve the same in a week? I’m sure that we all can think of a person, or even a few, who have this amazing ability to be able to get things done, to produce results… and who are FAST.
Like every other quality and skill, people are not born with it… instead, it’s an ability that they gradually learned and mastered over time. This means that the person whom you admire developed certain habits to make them more productive.
I recently came across this illustrated chart on ‘How To Be Productive‘ compiled by Anna Vital. I thought that it would be beneficial for us to have this guideline on the general modus operandi successful people live by. It’s easy to understand and many of these pointers are simple enough to implement into our lives – together with some discipline and determination!
Do download this image and save it on your computer or mobile phone… Take a look at it daily, and identify which ‘successful’ habits you already have, and which bad habits need to be unlearned, and good ones learned!

A very good guideline and creative chart on how to become productive and successful. Very handy to use as a reminder, Thank you Rinpoche and blog team for sharing this chart??
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this mindmap of how to be productive. I find it very useful as it is addressing different aspects of our life such as mind, food, schedule, body, hacks, clothes, tech so that we can be more productive and successful. Personally i like the sections on mind. It is useful to be a reminder/checklist for us to look into what habits that are good that we should keep or have & to “unlearned” the bad habits.
To be productive is was determined by what we do as to compare to others.. so true that we just need to be consistent and persistent and we could head over to our wanted vision..
Thank you for Rinpoche to share..
Dear Sharon,
It is indeed true that productivity is determined by our own actions. I cannot help but to say that consistency is the key to success. When we look at successful people the key strength that they have in common is the consistency towards their work and the dedication that they have.
Many times in life when others can feel the passion that we have towards what we are doing, we will be able to convenience others of what we are doing is something that we truly care about. With that passion in our work, to get the support from others will be much easier as well.
Rinpoche has always taught us that no matter what we do, we should have consistency and not be just motivated for the moment and let it slide after a while.
Thank you
Vinnie
Success always starts with little & “insignificant” good habits. This is so right! I am want to be more effective! The “better done than perfect” strikes me, as much as “start before you feel ready”, as I always spend too much or wasting much time in “thinking” and procrastinating.
Thank you Rinpoche for this post.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this. This is a helpful chart and I believe it is really workable. From my hamble opinion, changing takes time but we need to have the persistence in order for us to be more productive. if I were in rush for something in the future days, I will use some of the tips to improve my progress.
Thank you Rinpoche.
The chart makes some sense. Will work on some of the ideas on the chart to test out the improved productivity.
Productivity is bound to lead to more more results. These are great tips on how to remain focus so we can get things done and moving. And we do not remain static, we keep on moving to get bother.
To be successful is very simple, just start something and be consistent. Stop our own mind game and change bad habits. It is never complicated.
My precious Guru,
There are many time saving and performance boosting tips here. Thank you very much for post. This will certainly help many of us in our daily lives. For me, I like and will use this – Do a bad first draft. First drafts being the first will need much reworking later. Better start something badly and improve than never to start anything at all. Starting something (especially new things)can be a stumbling block for many of us, even in spiritual practice.
With folded hands.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this useful handy charts for us to follow and learn to be successful.
Thank you Rinpoche for your kindness and compassion to share this mind map with us. May we able to reduce those negative habits which indirectly slow down the effectiveness of our work etc and may we can be more productivity in our work after we look at this mind map .
I like this very much. It’s great advice. I’ll save the image and have it printed off. Thanks for a great article!
Dear Rinpoche, thank you for this post. As with everything else, so too with success, one must work hard to earn it.
Over time, one gradually conquers one’s negative habituation of laziness. For Jacinta, it’s sleeping less. So too for me.From a time back in the past, when it was necessary to sleep by 10 or 11 pm, I find it now natural to go to bed past midnight. i have become a night person, and am comfortable with it.
Hence , habituations can be un-learned and re-learned for one to become more productive.
I like many points given in the chart above, points like – set a daily routine; prioritize 1 item a day; and ignore(no need to respond to everything).
Thank you Rinpoche for posting it here. A helpful guideline to stay in focus… But one thing that is in contradiction to me… Sleep… Actually I sleep less since last year.. good or bad? Have not figure it out but it helps me to have more time to study, contemplate and meditate!
