A surprising gift!
I have varied interests that differ from each other greatly. Many of my blog readers know that one of my interest is in Bigfoot, Sasquatches and Yetis. For Christmas 2013, the team that is here with me in the States, surprised me with a gift of a Bigfoot foot cast! A genuine one!
Apart from working very hard alongside me here, they all took the time out to find a gift that they know I would love! I was pleasantly surprised to receive the gift, but was even more touched by their care. Now it’s been framed in my room always.

Tsem Rinpoche
The cast is from a footprint found in the Olympic Rainforest, in Washington state. The footprint is 16-inches long! Compare that to the size of an average shoe, and you can see how much bigger a Bigfoot’s foot really is!

You can see from this image the quality of the cast. It is made out of dental stone, and is quite fragile. It also has some dirt embedded in it and looks just like the casts the bigfoot hunters have!
This is the brochure that came with the gift. It explains where the footprint was casted, some of the background and also when the cast was made. The gift also came with six documentaries about Bigfoot which I am looking forward to watch.

Wow……a surprising gift for HE Tsem Rinpoche from the team . Rinpoche loved it as all along Rinpoche watching and reading articles of Bigfoot, Sasquatches and Yetis. So thoughtful of them to look and did research on it to get the foot print done. It is made out of dental stone, looks like the casts the bigfoot hunters have.

This cast seems to be very interesting. I am sure that bigfoot exists out there, somewhere. He is most probably as sentient as we are and pure so he does not want to come out and be corrupted by us. Also, humans would definitely exploit him when given the chance. I think that we should leave Bigfoot to his own devices and find him in a way that wouldn’t be intruding.

Dear Rinpoche, Pastor Jean Ai, Dato’ Ruby, JP Thong, Patsy Gooi, and Seng Piow are so thoughtful. I really want to see bigfoot with my own eyes and study them properly without hurting. And for some reasons there is a guy says that he wants to be the best bigfoot hunter in the world. Why should bigfoots die just because this guy wants to have fame?
OMB! This is awesome! Rinpoche’s hardworking team in the US is really caring and thoughtful enough to present Rinpoche with this Bigfoot cast, I think it means a lot because it shows that they are not only hardworking people but also very kind people.
It was hard to contain our excitement as we waited for the footprint to arrive. We ordered way before Christmas but it only arrived after that. Well, better late than never. It was actually Pastor Jean Ai’s idea.
Oh my goodness!!! Is that a genuine Bigfoot foot print mold???? This is amazing! I thought stuff like these are placed in the museum or something like that… The US team is really resourceful for being able to find something like this, it must be really rare and difficult to obtain.
The liaisons are indeed very thoughtful and sensitive to the peoples around them. They know what each individuals liking or what irks them. In this case , they immediately be able to relate to Rinpoche when they encounter this unusual item. By observing the liaisons’ actions, it will reflect on how Rinpoche teaches them to be conscious to others needs. Thank you Rinpoche for showing us the actual practice.

If the Yeti were still around, the Washington state area would certainly be one of the prime places to look for it. Was lucky enough to have visited a friend in Seattle a long time ago and a bunch of us did go hiking in a national park nearby with hoagies tucked in our backpacks.
The rainforest here is extremely rich in flora/fauna and has abundant crystal-clear fresh water. Winter would certainly be mild enough for the Yeti to survive comfortably. Nice place for a Yeti to raise a family.
Now I know why that when I started upping the pace while on that hike (I was really, really enjoying the clean and oxygen-rich air), the group left me alone to venture up the peak. Unfortunately, no Yeti encounters to report, or is it just because I wasn’t looking?
