Respect them
In Nepal, the bigfoots are called Yetis. In Tibetan they are called Migurs. Sightings of these creatures in the Himalayan region are common for hundreds of years and it’s normal to them. Some Sherpa people in Nepal believe it’s bad luck to see them as they are very powerful. Tibetan people believe when you see them, you should avoid looking at them directly as they can be irritated. The only time they interact with people is by accident when they search for food. I’ve spoken to two Tibetan friends on separate occasions who saw a yeti on their trek from Tibet to Nepal. They were fascinated that I was fascinated because it is a ‘normal’ occurrence in their cultures so why am I so interested..LOL. They saw them in the near distance walking and looking for food they told me in the snow as my friends were traversing the mountains into Nepal. My friends were not disturbed by them but they definitely saw the Yeti.
I enclosed a picture of a statue of Bigfoot in Nepal where the local people put offerings to Yetis as a sign of respect to ask them to not disturb the village. They don’t pray or worship these Yetis, but make friends with them so hence the statue and offerings. These people respect the environment and denizens. I thought this would be interesting.
In case you didn’t see, almost 7 months back I posted about the Yetis being in the Tibetan scriptures, in case you missed it.
One interesting thing is some of my special Tibetan lama teachers told me that certain Yetis would deliver messages from one lama to another and the lamas would give them food. I thought that was interesting. The Yetis are tamed and calm around highly evolved Tibetan holy masters it seems. Well, the army train dolphins. There are St. Bernards’ in Switzerland trained to find avalanche victims and don’t forget carrier pigeons. So why not Yetis in the immensely vast Himalayan regions carrying messages on paper from one high lama to another where normal transport is difficult when Yetis can traverse great mountainous distances effortlessly… Om Mani Peme Hung.

National Geographic American Paranormal – Bigfoot
This documentary contains an excellent explanation on the Patterson-Gimlin footage of Bigfoot dubbed Patty. It goes through scientific methods to prove the image on the film is authentic. Please watch and be convinced finally. I’ve always believed the footage was genuine. Mr. Gimlin in all the interviews I’ve watched seemed very genuine and suffered tremendously as a result of the footage.

In Nepal, the bigfoots are called Yetis. It is an ape-like creature purported to inhabit the Himalayan mountain range in Asia. Sherpa people and locals are common to see these creatures for hundreds of years and it’s normal to them. There is a statue of Bigfoot in Nepal where the local people offered flowers to Yetis as a sign of respect. Interesting those days the Yetis acts as delivery man . They deliver messages from one lama to another while in turn the lamas would give them food. That’s wonderful. We should respect all living beings nor matter who they are.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
Dear Rinpoche,
Over the years, when I read, watch or hear more about Yetis, I can’t deny their existence. It’s like discovering new disease. Perhaps the diseases are always there but we didn’t know about it. Given time and courage, I might or would like to meet them someday. Maybe we can be good friends. ?
Thank you Rinpoche for this post.
Thank you for sharing this interesting article about Bigfoot. I have always wondered if I`ll beable to see a Bigfoot one day in this lifetime. The fact that Bigfoots can help high lamas pass messages when transport is unable to send letters from place to place.
Thank you for sharing with folded hands. _/\_
Curious about the legendary Yeti? Not sure what to believe? Here is an article that explores a range of sources, from folktales to newspaper reports, detailing sightings and encounters with the elusive creature, who has been a part of the very fabric of various Himalayan communities for thousands of years. Read about religious beliefs, myths, fables and stories by scholars and travellers alike, and realise that there is more to the Yeti than you previously thought.

This is a real awesome documentary on bigfoot. One of the best – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp5eV9nIEjk&feature=youtu.be
In the folklore of Nepal, the Yeti is an ape-like entity. Nepal is a soul-searching wonder nation that boasts the Himalayas with its many unexplained mysteries. Many locals ,climbers, and researchers have reported sightings of Yeti that looms large in the mythology of Nepal for centuries. For decades people have reported seeing an ape-man roaming the snowy wastes of the Himalayas is part of many cultural traditions around the world. Seeing the appearance of or even hearing the beast is a sign of fearful apprehension to them. Hence they somehow makes offerings to the Yeti , respect them as friends so as the Yetis will not harm and disturb them and even act as deliveryman from one high lama to another. That’s interesting ….pigeons can carry messages why not the Yeti. Yeti do exist after all in Himalayas when travelling at that time is a hindrance.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting sharing.
In 1967, Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson stumbled across an incredible sight whilst out in Bluff Creek, in the California wilderness. At a creek which had been freshly washed-out by recent floods, they witnessed a female Bigfoot swiftly traverse the rugged landscape. Since their filmed encounter with the Bigfoot, who has since been nicknamed Patty, many have disputed the authenticity of their recording but no one has been able to successfully prove that it is a fake.
Credits for this video goes to entirely to windvale for the original footage. ?
The people of Himalayans readily acknowledge the existence of Yeti even though the world out there is still skeptical and searching for more evidence. This largely has to do with the traditional belief among the Himalayans where they probably experienced during their childhood; darkness of the pine forest, the footprints, the terror when the creature began to howl, and tales of a beast that stalked the upper reaches of the mountains. I certainly hope that oe day Yeti will no longer be a creature on the cryptozoology list but a proven animal.
Yetis exist because it simply cannot be that across cultures and societies, people come up with similar stories. It’s not as though the people of the ancient world colluded and sent smoke signals to one another saying, “Hey! Let’s all talk about this tall hairy creature whose character is like this, and preferences are like this and that!” LOL
It’s just like near-death experiences and people’s recollection fo them. Regardless of what your background or religion is, everyone who recalls a near-death experience talks about a white light at the end of the tunnel. The process is the same but each faith explains it differently.
In this way, Yetis are explained in a similar fashion across cultures. They even have their unique physical characteristics which can be explained as having evolved according to their environment. For example, the orang pendeks living in South-East Asian tropical rainforests are short, to navigate low-lying foliage while the Yetis of the Himalayas are taller, to help them cover greater distances in the snow.
Every day we are finding new species previously undiscovered and unknown to scientists so why isn’t it possible that Yetis exist too, but are currently undiscovered because they’re just better at hiding?
I like reading all this stuff. It s amazing some times I think it’s weird
Thank you dear Rinpoche for sharing.
We all have known the existence of Yetis through news, documentaries and articles. They may been living for thousand years or maybe more than that, we do not know. Its really are unbelievable too, to know that such creatures are actually helping us humans to reach places we are unable to reach to rely messages. Thus we really should be thankful to these Yetis for helping us out.
As the enlightened teachings of H.H.The Dalai Lama said, “The creatures that inhabit this earth – be they human beings or animals, are here to contribute, each in its own particular way, to the beauty and prosperity of the World”. Bigfoots as said, are sighted all over the world, especially in North America, with one of the hotbeds in North California as reported. Scientists in Siberia has indicated that Yeti exists in the Russian Tundra. Though many organised studies could not offer proof of a Yeti, the authors are careful in pointing out that these studies did not prove that Yeti doesn’t exist. It simply comes to a status-quo that we only have no hard evidence of a yeti. Like Rinpoche said, “There is no doubt that this patterson-Gimlin footage is geniune, plus his own Tibetan people’s certification, couple with thousands of credible witnesses who have long history of bigfoot sightings, even from very high Lamas of Tibet who are very credible witnesses to him, and to all of us as well, friends, practioners, followers and students, what is credible to Rinpoche, “so say all of us too”!!! Om mani Padme Hung.

For some people it’s an interesting discovery/sighting because such a rare being being seen but for some people staying around them is just another being that live with them. But of course what make it interesting to certain people is their existent have been so secretive and many would go and look out for them.
What make it more interesting to me the Yeti has been the messenger for the Lama. They must be able to sense the pureness and harmless quality towards the Lama and so tame to deliver messages for them. Imagine how this sensitive and big creatures communicate with the Lama, probably through telepathy.
Thank You so much for sharing Rinpoche. Sometimes when we are dying to see something, it tend to not appear; but when we don’t think about it, it tends to show up. It’s really fascinating that Yetis can help to pass messages around, they are not that “dangerous” after all.Of course things are different now, even we humans have changed. I’m not a super fan of bigfoot, but I kinda hope that I’ll be able to see one some day, for they are the same as all beings, just slightly hairy and bigger I guess. I don’t think that seeing yetis is a bad omen though, I just don’t understand why is it a bad thing. Guess its just another story people made up.
Dear Rinpoche, it is funny how some americans try to hunt the yetis while in the other side of the world, Nepalese and Tibetans befriends with them. It is already unimaginable to study yeti and some Lamas uses them to send messages. It’s very hard for humans to send messages up and down the mountains but for the yetis, It’s very easy because of their thick fur and bigger body sizes. Besides, they grow up in the mountains. I really want to see a live Yeti.
Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing on Yeti’s.It must be difficult for them to survive with the intrusion of so call adventures who insist to concur all the unexplored places in tibet and everywhere else .
It would be a miracle for them to wonder around without being detected. As for their huge size, they would require a lot of food.It would be extremely difficult to find food in the winter unless they go into hibernation.
Are the Yeti the missing link of the last of the caveman?.Anyway ,we do hope that they would survive and live their peaceful life without the disturbance and intrusion of human into their territory.
With so many sighting by different people, culture, time & geographical area of the Bigfoot existence it is hard not to believe that Bigfoot do exist. Like many things in life, it is not possible for us to know or seen everything and that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. Such as the people of Nepal who put up a statue of the Bigfoot to pay respect so that they can all live in peace & harmony in a place they all share. We too must also realize that every living being around us have the right to have happiness, respect that & help them to achieve that state so that there is a sense of peace & harmony in ours & their lives & also the environment that we live in.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this interesting story on the Bigfoot.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing interesting facts about Yeti, though it was a fiction for me before, but now seems it is getting real.
So what realm would the Yeti/bigfoot belong to? Human Realm, Animal Realm, or maybe Titan Realm?
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing on this interesting topic about Yeti or Bigfoot. Indeed they are the ones who should get more respect, compassion and protection as they are not able to make their own food and live in the hidden forest away from human living areas. May al sentient beings receive protection and blessings from all Buddhas.
Dear Rinpoche,
Can see Rinpoche is excited lately about visitng Willow Creek, Big Foot museum, more stories and clearer documentaries about these mystery beings, and the fact that in Rinpoche’s previous incarnation, Rinpoche used Yetis to deliver messages to other high lamas / guru for communication.
It is such a pity during the storm in 1960s, 1 Big Foot was crushed [as per earlier comment below] and all media pertaining to their existence was erased.
I don’t see a reason why we cannot know of the existence of such creatures when they are living among us? Hmm….
The existence of Yeti or Big Foot was clearly documented in the Tibetan scriptures as well as their image carved on stones, as above, so their existence must be true. For many of us, if we were to encounter the “real” thing, we would definitely freak out. I would, with their enormous size, hairy body, smell and eerie cries.
I am curious about one thing now. How long does these Big Foot live? If they live in clusters like a family, we would be able to find their foot prints of spouse and children, but they are so elusive. They must be super intelligent to be able to avoid human at all cost and survive that long.
Also, if Yetis do pass away, then do they bury their own or hid their skeletons somewhere? If there are skeletons or remains of Big Foot, then we should be able to find them somewhere, like dinosaurs. My take on this is, they are so Mystical and Myth like and humans haven’t a way to prove them. Just like the existence of Shambala but we can’t prove them scientifically yet.

I’ve got news for anyone who isn’t already aware, there WAS AND IS a real Sasquatch body that was found dead, witnessed & photographed by dozens of people back in the 60’s right after the Columbus Day wind storm in Oregon. Crews were sent out in various areas to clear the mountain roads of all the fallen trees due to the storm. One crew found the body, crushed by a downed Spruce, killing the being. It was face down under the tree & already dead. MANY people witnessed this. It was loaded onto a flatbed truck & hauled off by authorities. There is/was a case number and strong evidence that the bones & complete autopsy & any other lab work, are in the possession of the Smithsonian Institution, secretly of course. There are just too many witnesses to dispute this event. The government seized all the photo’s they could from various people, but not all were recovered. It was described as a female, 7′ 6″ tall and weighed over 600 lbs. I hope that the few people still alive, with possession of these photo’s, will somehow get them onto the internet. Time will tell. This incident truly happened. Crews had to cut the section of the huge Spruce tree away, and block & tackle or some type of hoist had to be used to load the body onto the flatbed truck. Authorities ran everyone off rather quickly. I’ve read several eyewitness testimonies. Back then, the story was covered by local media, but the powers that be, killed the story, therefore never making it to mainstream media. If you don’t believe me, google it. It can also be found on a couple youtube channels. Use the words: “1960’s Columbus Day wind storm in Oregon, results in recovered Sasquatch body killed by tree”, or something along those lines.
I honestly believe that they can be real, and for it to be a regular occurrence for Rinpoche’s friends that is amazing. I always enjoy when Rinpoche posts about yetis as they are so interesting! Thank you for sharing Rinpoche
Many believe such a creature exists and yet many believe that suck creatures are just a myth.
Depending on which side you are there are many arguable debates on the evidence of Bigfoot and whether or not the evidence is real or faked be people who are seeking fame.
The Tibetans and Nepalese have very strong believe of Bigfoot and many of them have even stumbled upon one, Especially in Nepal, Bigfoot is highly regarded as a being that exists and it is probably the reason why there is a lot of merchandise of Bigfoot for sale because if nobody believed Bigfoot really exists nobody would want to produce such things.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post!
This is quite interesting. Thank you for sharing about these wonderful beings. It is interesting to know that high lamas keep in contact with them to send messages. It shows that these creatures are actually beings on a plane of existence capable of understanding humans.
Thanks for Rinpoche’s sharing. It was interesting that know that Yetis is helping to deliver the message for high lama.We should learn to respect all beings in the universe.
Dear Rinpoche, thank you for this post on the yetis. I have also taken a look at the post, “It’s in the scriptures they exist”. I agree with Rinpoche that it is enough that there have been thousands of credible witnesses to prove that the Big Foot or yeti exists.
The ‘face’ on the skin and skeleton of a being shown to the scientists, who went on an expedition(in the blogpost “It’s in the scriptures they exist”)to verify the existence of the Yeti in the highlands of the Bhutan border with Tibet, was contorted in pain. The Bhutanese believe the being was a yeti although the scientists were sceptical. The being, who in all probability was a yeti, was tortured to death because it had caused harm to the people in that area. The suffering of the being in death reveals the attitude of people to beings, who are of a different or ‘lower’ class to them. Hence the image of pain is a teaching about respect and compassion.
The Nepalese may fear the yetis, but they at least respect them. They show this respect by making a statue of a Yeti and making offerings to request the yeti not to harm or disturb them.
Yes, the yetis are real. They deserve the respect and kindness that we ourselves wish from others. We see from the Big Foot blogposts, that while they may harm and hurt impure beings, they respect highly evolved beings , like great Lamas. Indeed these great Lamas(and our Rinpoche’s previous incarnation is one of them) have been able to train them to be messengers, much like the St Bernards , to carry messages between high Lamas , separated by distances and the high mountain ranges.
This may be short, but it’s one of my favorite documentaries also you have to take a look. Very good. I wanted to share with you all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUDjCmg4awI
