Dear friends around the world,
I do not usually celebrate my birthday but I appreciate all the flowers, gifts, messages and cards from around the world. I also don’t celebrate other people’s birthday because it would be a weekly event if not daily as I am blessed to know many people. But I do wish them all well.
Well I have a team of great people here in the USA assisting me with various works, food, cleaning, shopping, secretarial works etc. They are very kind people and I adore their company. They work tremendously hard and all of them are very harmonious with eachother. My birthday was October 24th and they secretly surprised me with a horrendously funny act. What a splendid birthday gift. They had prepared it and memorized their lines-amazing! Who said Dharma and dharma people can’t be fun??
‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane’ is one of my favorite ‘horror’ movies played by two of Hollywood’s biggest box office movie queens when they were aging and not getting much work. This movie revived their presence in the media again back then. Bette Davis and Joan Crawford’s cult classic has been mimicked by thousands of impersonators around the world for decades as it’s camp, funny, macabre and also sad. Well I’ve gotten many of my friends to watch ‘Whatever Happened To Baby Jane’ over the years and sometimes I will act out parts with some of them for laughs.
Well the joke was on me tonight. Our creative and talented US Kechara team put on a surprise show for me as a birthday gift. I had no idea what was in store me!! It was such a huge surprise and it was hysterical. I was innocently typing away on my laptop doing some work in my room and the ‘circus’ walked in and the act suddenly began as my mouth dropped open! It is also amazing how they are even able think of doing this play as a Birthday Present to Rinpoche, i mean how often do people even think of doing a play as a present?
I must admit. To me, the funniest part of the videos is not about the play. Instead, the funniest part is when Rinpoche laughed so hard that He could not even breath properly, it has been clearly shown at the last part of the first video. Rinpoche’s and Pastor Jean Ai’s reactions are so hilarious. I laughed none stop when I watched it the first time. Thank you to all the people who worked so hard in order to make this play go so smoothly. I would definitely love to watch more videos/plays like this.

Dear Rinpoche, thank you for sharing with us this video. It is indeed hilarious. I was laughing so hard when I first watched it. I am really happy that Rinpoche enjoys the little show that the US team has arranged for Rinpoche. When Jean Mei shared with me the link to the youtube video, I was still thinking what the video is about, but after watching the whole video then I knew how funny it was and how great actors are Pastor David and Pastor Moh Mei.
It is another great hit for Pastor Moh Mei after her previous hit from the treadmill video for sure!
OH MY BUDDHA!!!! This is really too funny! I swear I laughed so hard… still having tears in my eyes as I write, and laughing to myself. I adore both Pastor Moh Mei and Pastor David… but this makes adoration to a whole new level! The make up by Jean Mei is the BEST! PMM does indeed look sickly beautiful..hahahahaha… Aiyo, and the lashes and eye brows of Pastor David… cracks me up.

It is really amazing how they managed to pull it off without Rinpoche’s knowledge and they really did a great job with the make-up and dressing.
Both Pastor David and Pastor Moh Mei are really devoted students and actor/actress to have the sportsmanship to pull of such a wonderful surprise for Rinpoche.
If I am not mistaken they also did a video presented together with a treadmill for one of Rinpoche’s previous birthday’s in KFR.

Dear Rinpoche, Pastor David and Pastor Mohmei are really good. They actually finished playing the whole play without forgetting anything. And I’ve never ever seen Rinpoche laugh so hard until Rinpoche has no voice. Hahahahaha, even now when I’m writing the comment I’m still laughing. I remembered that Pastor Mohmei, Pastor Shin and a few other people also made a video which is called Treadmill Offering for Rinpoche. I remember when I watch the video, I just kept on laughing and laughing for a while. They are really smart and talented, Rinpoche. They can think and do things that least people would think of it. Thank You Rinpoche for sharing this post, I really like the play.

This is soooo good! I laughed so hard , I am coughing now! It is amazing all of you can put this together (and kept it a secret) in between the other 1,000 things that you are doing. Sourcing for the costume, memorising the lines, putting in the music, our two talents could talk on cue to the music, the funny background clowns aka audience on the floor, but most of all, I am so touched by the whole idea of doing this in the first place. I can see Rinpoche laughing till he had to wipe his tears. And it is not easy to make Rinpoche laugh, let alone laugh so hard. What a beautiful offering. This is one the the most creative offerings thus far. And to Jean Mei, you are one creative young lady.

Moments of sadness arose in my heart when I was in Gompo celebrating Rinpoche’s birthday two days ago, but I overcame this feeling by replacing this sadness with the thought that this does not matter as my thoughts and wishes can still be felt no matter where Rinpoche is. It does not matter.
As long as Rinpoche is in good health and is happy, I will be happy. I wish Rinpoche good health, long life and happiness.
