Question asked by Natalie
Dear Pastors,
Although having never meet HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche I have watched many you tube videos of his teachings, followed His blog and twitter. I have also learned the Lama Tsongkhapa practice, which I do several times a week. Does this make Rinpoche my Guru as I know you have to be very respectful towards ones Guru. Please advise
Dear Natalie,
I’m very happy to learn that you are following H.E. Tsem Rinpoche’s teachings and that you have started Lama Tsongkhapa’s practice. How fortunate to be able to find a teacher who explains the Dharma to us, so that we can eliminate the causes of our unhappiness and become better, happier people. H.E. Tsem Rinpoche has taught that relying on a qualified guru is the foundation for all spiritual attainments.
Your guru is the spiritual guide who removes your ignorance, a teacher who guides you along the path to enlightenment. So if you think you have found such a guru, then you must have confidence in him, meditate on his extraordinary kindness and the many ways he benefits living beings in the world. It would be good if you could participate in the spiritual activities of Kechara House, attend Dharma classes and apply the Dharma to your daily life. There are many ways we can offer our services to the guru. Offering our Dharma practice is the best service to the guru.
