Congratulations to Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche

When my Tsem Ladrang team received an invitation to the opening of Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche’s new centre, I was very very happy to hear this news. Whenever anyone is successful in establishing or propagating Lama Tsongkhapa’s tradition anywhere in the world, it is important for us to rejoice. It does not matter whether the founder has the same practices or not; what is important is that we rejoice in the growth of the Buddhadharma so that sentient beings may benefit from the wisdom of Shakyamuni’s teachings. So although I was not able to attend the opening myself, I wanted to send some of my close students there to represent me and show my support for Zawa Rinpoche’s works.

Zawa Rinpoche has visited Kechara many times in the past. During his visits here, he performed pujas to bless our land and also taught us some rituals which we were not familiar with before. Also some of my students have been in regular contact with Zawa Rinpoche. He has been very informative and helpful to them regarding the monastic system which my students who are not Tibetan are not familiar with.

I also know that Zawa Rinpoche has been traveling tirelessly for the last decade bravely raising awareness about the ban on Dorje Shugden. So he has been working on both his activities to lift the ban on Dorje Shugden, and also developing his own Dharma centre without much assistance. I wanted my people to go to Canada to recognise what Zawa Rinpoche has done for our lineage.

The invitation was for the opening of Zawa Rinpoche’s new Buddhist temple known as Centre De Méditation Tsongkhapa (CMT, or Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre in English). Located in Ste-Sophie, Quebec (Canada), the centre sits on four acres of land which is forested and (I am told) very beautiful and serene. There is a main gompa (prayer hall), as you will see from the photos below, and also a small house for Zawa Rinpoche in the back. They have also built rooms for visiting sangha, have a well-stocked library and they will soon be doing renovations to convert their garage into a kitchen. In the future, Zawa Rinpoche would like to develop his land to include retreat huts.

Venerable Geshe Tsultrim Tenzin (formerly of Gaden Jangtse Monastery, now residing in Austria) makes a mandala offering to His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche

CMT is actually Zawa Rinpoche’s third centre, so to speak. His first centre was opened by the late Venerable Geshe Khenrab, and it was located in Montreal, Quebec (Canada) before a sister centre was opened in Moncton, New Brunswick (also in Canada). After Geshe-la passed away, Zawa Rinpoche became the organisation’s spiritual guide. However, my students tell me that the Montreal centre was not located in a very conducive area because it was on a main road with shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Hence Zawa Rinpoche looked around for a more suitable location. When he found some properties, he submitted them to His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche who advised him that this location in Sainte-Sophie would be very good.

There were many auspicious signs in the run-up to the opening ceremony. For four days, rainbows appeared above the centre, either as double rainbows or circular ones around the sun. At one point, when Zawa Rinpoche was installing a Dharma wheel on the roof of the gompa, five-colored lights shone from the Dharma wheel. These were invisible to the naked eye although they show clearly in the photograph. Zawa Rinpoche also told us that completely white flowers sprouted spontaneously on the land, and that these flowers were not native to the area. Closer to the date of the opening ceremony, two small ponies came onto their land. After Zawa Rinpoche fed them, they disappeared and never came back.

So there were all of these good signs surrounding the centre, which made my team excited about attending what is surely an auspicious occasion. The opening ceremony was also attended by many lamas around the world who were keen to show their support for Zawa Rinpoche’s works. Present was Venerable Trote Rinpoche from New York, Venerable Kalden Rinpoche from Brazil, Geshe Phende from Austria, Gen Youten from Canada, and Geshe Sopa, Geshe Cheme Tsering and Gen Jamyang Tashi from Vermont. Venerable Rabten Rinpoche was also scheduled to attend the celebrations, representing His Eminence Gonsar Rinpoche who was not able to attend himself.

Zawa Rinpoche had also invited his own teacher, Venerable Geshe Tsultrim Tenzin. There is an interesting but sad story about this senior, very learned and gentle monk. Geshe Tsultrim is a monk of Gaden Jangtse Monastery who had many students. For decades he taught tirelessly until the height of the ban. At this time, some of his ‘students’ came to attack Geshe-la’s simple home, throwing stones and rocks at it. The harassment escalated and became so bad that Geshe-la had to escape the monastery in the middle of the night. He left India and travelled with Switzerland where Venerable Gonsar Rinpoche gave him refuge. Later Geshe-la moved to Austria where he now lives. There are very few monks now of Geshe-la’s generation, scholarship and practice so my students were extremely fortunate to meet him and make a connection with this holy practitioner.

My team spent their first day at CMT getting to know the volunteers, as well as some of the guests who had arrived early. They also had a short audience with Geshe Tsultrim to present some offerings I wished to make to him. With Zawa Rinpoche helping to translate, my students requested for Geshe-la to live long and on my behalf, offered to him a statue of Amitayus. Then they explained to Geshe Tsultrim about the works I have been doing in Malaysia and the progress of Kechara and what we wish to accomplish. I am told that Geshe-la was very happy to hear all of this and accepted their request for him to pray that this manifests.

Geshe Tsultrim accepting my offering of an Amitayus statue

In the evening, Geshe Sopa-la of Trijang Buddhist Institute requested our people to join him and Zawa Rinpoche the next day in escorting His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche to the centre which my team were of course very honoured to accept. They came extra early the following day to make sure they would not be late.

His Holiness Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche arrived and was escorted in the traditional manner, with a golden parasol, incense and flowers scattered at his feet. Outside of the gompa, His Holiness recited prayers and cut the ribbon sealing the doors. Then His Holiness entered the gompa to perform a consecration ritual with the other Sangha.

After a short break, His Holiness proceeded to give a short commentary and oral transmission of the Gaden Lhagyama. His Holiness explained that he had received this teaching from His Eminence Kensur Lati Rinpoche and it was according to the Segyud tradition. The teaching was translated by the Venerable Geshe Cheme Tsering, who is an excellent scholar and has been translating for His Holiness for many years. His Holiness also explained the motivation with which one should receive Dharma teachings. I am told that the teaching was very well-received and that His Holiness’s style of transmitting the Dharma is very similar to that of his predecessor.

His Holiness ended the afternoon with a gift to Zawa Rinpoche of an antique and very beautiful Namgyalma thangka. After that, everyone had the opportunity to make offerings and receive blessings from His Holiness, who left soon after. Again Kechara students had the merits to escort His Holiness back to the hotel which was very nice for them.

Over the next few days, my team had audiences with Venerable Rabten Rinpoche, Venerable Kalden Rinpoche and Venerable Trote Rinpoche to update them on our works and make a connection with them. I am told that the lamas were very happy to see our works and offered their prayers and support for our continuous growth. I thank them very much for this. My students also spent time getting to know our Dorje Shugden brothers and sisters, many of whom they have connected with on Facebook but never actually met before.

When I was Zawa Rinpoche’s age, I also had my own Dharma centre so I know from experience it is not easy to open a Dharma centre especially in an area where people may not be so familiar with Buddhism. Therefore I would like to offer Venerable Zawa Rinpoche my heartiest congratulations on the opening of the Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre which I know was not easy to do. I wish him every success and offer him my prayers that all of his works come to fruition.

Please scroll down to enjoy more photos below, and rejoice in the proliferation of Lama Tsongkhapa’s tradition in the west.

Rejoice Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche having opened another new centre the Tsongkhapa Meditation Center at Ste-Sophie, Quebec ,Canada. This center is actually Zawa Rinpoche’s third centre in Canada. Zawa Rinpoche has been working and traveling tirelessly raising awareness about the ban on Dorje Shugden. Truly fortunate to be invited there for the opening of new Buddhist temple for those Kecharians . Those beautiful pictures tells us more. Amazing there were many auspicious signs such as rainbow either one or double rainbows or even circular ones around the sun few days before the opening ceremony. While Zawa Rinpoche was installing a Dharma wheel on the roof of the gompa, another auspicious sign appeared as seen clearly in the photograph…a five-colored lights shone from the Dharma wheel. Wow …spotted white flowers sprouted spontaneously on the land too. Just before the opening ceremony, two small ponies came from nowhere onto their land and disappeared after Zawa Rinpoche fed them.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

It’s very honor to have opportunities to meet Zawa Rinpoche for few times in KFR in the past. During his visits here, he performed pujas and also shares his Dharma knowledge to give us blessings. He always smiling and kind, often we can see he posts some updates about his Buddhist temple in Quebac, Canada, which known as Centre De Méditation Tsongkhapa. I remember I saw one of the video, there was a big statue of Buddha covered by a monk robe. Wind was blowing, the statue feels liveliness around the nature, it’s just so beautiful, peace, calm. Zawa Rinpoche shares a lot footage of his temple in social media, it’s enjoy to watch and I hope to visit his place someday.

Mantras are sacred verbalized words that invoke the protection and blessings of the deity to whom the mantra is ascribed. Mantras are also the manifestations of Buddhas in the form of ‘sounds’, hence the various mantras of Dorje Shugden contain the essence of the Protector.

    OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

Dorje Shugden’s mantra for peace 平和咒语

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

I rejoice in the opening of a new centre recently by Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche. May the growth of the Buddhadharma benefit many sentient beings into the ten directions. May Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche live long to turn the Dharma wheel.

Thank you for posting Rinpoche. The photos are wonderful. I rejoice for the opening of The Tsongkhapa Meditation Center by Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche here in Canada. Although the center is far from my home, and was once in my home province of New Brunswick, I hope that conditions conducive will one day come about that I may be closer to such accomplished and enlightened masters. Just knowing these scholars and great practitioners of The Buddhadharma are here in Canada is a great comfort and encouragement. May the center continue to grow, see much success and spread the teachings to many. Where there is no Dharma may there be the Guru to plant the seed to see it grow and grow. May the Sangha increase, know good health and bring about much happiness and understanding to those who suffer in this Samsara. Please remain and continue to turn the Wheel of the Dharma to liberate all sentient beings. May the teachings spread far and wide and may all who seek them find solace and great blessing. Because of the kindness, concern, wisdom and compassion of the Guru this world may this world know peace. I closing I would also add that the white flower mentioned is actually a mushroom. It is called Monotropa Uniflora. Known as Indian Pipe, Ghost Pipe or Corpse Pipe! 🙂 I have read it is a powerful medicinal in tincture form used as a pain reliever when all other forms of pain treatment have been expended, including opiates. Most Auspicious and rare indeed. If you cannot find this plant, the Dharma is the next best pain relief I would recommend! :)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotropa_uniflora https://www.americanherbalistsguild.com/sites/default/files/donahue_sean_-_ghost_pipe-_a_little_known_nervine.pdf

I rejoice for this most auspicious and meritorious opening of the Tsongkhapa Meditation Center in Canada! This is very, very good news as it signifies the spreading of Je Tsongkhapa’s teachings and Dharma. It also signifies and proves that Dorje Shugden has compassionately helped to clear the obstacles for Je Tsongkhapa’s teaching to be made available to people as far away as Canada, which is technically half the globe away from Asia.

I also rejoice for all of Kechara’s and Your Eminence’s students to be able to attend the opening and present the offerings on your behalf to the center.

May the Dharma continue to flourish and the ban on Dorje Shugden be lifted.

What an auspicious event and a joyous one -the opening of Zawa Rinpoche’s new Dharma center – Tsongkhapa Meditation Center -in St Sophie,Quebec , Canada! It is through centers like this that the Dharma of Tsongkhapa’s tradition will flourish! Many great Masters from all over the world came to support Zawa Rinpoche on the occasion of the opening of his center. A group of Rinpoche’s students were there for the occasion too. It was a great opportunity, which they utilized fully, to let the great Shugden Lamas know about Rinpoche ‘s tireless efforts in proliferating Je Tsongkhapa’s tradition and Dorje Shugden practice here in Malaysia. We remember Zawa Rinpoche with gratitude as he has visited Kechara and performed pujas to bless the land and also taught many rituals.

The many auspicious signs are clear indications that this was a truly great occasion for rejoicing, even among the company of Enlightened Buddhas! Rainbows were seen in the sky; white flowers spontaneously bloomed and these were not native to these parts ! There were 5 coloured lights streaming down when Zawa Rinpoche was installing the Dharma Wheel on the roof of the Gompa! Two ponies came and later disappeared!

All the auspicious signs also indicate that Dorje Shugden have cleared the obstacles for the center to flourish and all the Buddhas are very delighted !

Dorje Shugden has been maligned and demonized by the Tibetan leaderships’s smear campaigns for 20 years. However, when some one actually looks into the allegations against the Protector and examine what the practice is all about, they see the goodness of Dorje Shugden clearly. This comment by ‘Suzy in Hawaii’ is yet another indication that despite all efforts, the anti-Shugden offensive has failed. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl-4lIwxph4&t=11s

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

    HUM
Though unmoving from the sphere of primordial spontaneity,
With wrathful turbulent power, swifter than lightning,
Endowed with heroic courage to judge good and bad,
I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Robes of a monk, crown adorned with rhinoceros leather hat,
Right hand holds ornate club, left holds a human heart,
Riding various mounts such as nagas and garudas,
Who subdues the mamos of the charnel grounds, praise to you!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,
For us, the masters, disciples, benefactors and entourages,
Provide the good and avert the bad!
Bring increase like the waxing moon in spiritual and temporal realms!

    Moreover, swiftly accomplishing all wishes,
According to our prayers, bestow the supreme effortlessly!
And like the jewel that bestows all wishes,
Always protect us with the Three Jewels!

Zawa Rinpoche has been very supportive towards Tsem Rinpoche’s work and Kechara. Hence when we heard about his new centre opening, we were all very glad for Rinpoche and rejoiced. It was an honour for Tsem Ladrang to be invited to attend the centre opening in Canada. We were glad to be given this chance to be physically there and witnessed the auspicious event and that we were able to meet many practitioners from the west. It was a very precious and enjoyable event whereby all the practitioners were gathered for the same purpose. I’m so glad to see the unity, care and love in everyone. Without the Lama’s perseverance in upholding the lineage, it’ll be difficult for us to access to Dharma in this era.

Meritoriously, many good auspicious signs have appeared in the surrounding areas of the new centre, both at the time of its opening and therafter. As this is said to be the third new centre where Kyabse Zawa Rinpoche has established, it take a lot his inner and outer hard efforts to make this possible, apart from the good blessing that he has. As a result of all these good omens, it will certainly bring tremendous success and endless spiritual benefits to all practitioners, to help make live more peaceful, hopeful and meaningful for them. Congratulations to Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche! It’s great to see many people around the world congregating to promote peace and harmony via the Buddhadharma. The camaraderie, warmth and sincerity permeate through the pics as they hold on to their practice regardless of the insurmountable pressures from others.

It is through rough times like the discrimination of Dorje Shugden that enable us to see who our real friends are and who are true to their spiritual practice.

May Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche live long and continue to turn the wheel of Buddhadharma in all ten directions.

  43. Pastor Henry Ooi on Aug 22, 2015 at 10:48 am

Rejoicing news and congratulations to Venerable Zawa Rinpoche on the opening of new Buddhist Centre De Méditation Tsongkhapa. From there may dharma spread like wildfire to all regions and corners of the world. May many come to know and learn the teachings of Lama Tsongkhapa and also engage in the practices Dorje Shugden.

The concept of rebirth has a long association with Buddhism. Rebirth in Buddhism refers to the teaching that the actions of a sentient being lead to a new existence after death, in an endless cycle called saṃsāra. One will begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual depending on the moral quality of the previous life’s actions. What they are reborn as depends on their actions in their previous life rather kamma. As a Buddhist we should believe in rebirth but still many people don’t . Buddha taught us that choices of rebirth make a difference and can shape many lifetimes. Buddhists believe that nothing that exists is permanent and everything will ultimately cease to be. There is a belief in rebirth

Against the odds two inspiring nuns fought all the way to become ordained, fighting for their rights to practice Buddhism . Interesting read of how they went through , bringing equality for women in Thailand. Buddhism is the predominant religion in Thailand. Officially, only men can become monks and novices in Thailand under a Buddhist order. The country does not recognize female monks or novices. In recent years, more Thai Buddhist women seeking to become full-fledged female monks, have been defying the tradition getting ordained overseas, in Sri Lanka or India. Buddhist women have been fighting for years for equality and social acceptance in Thailand. They just can’t be ordained by Thai monks. Ven. Dhammananda, 68 year old former university lecturer and activist became Thailand’s first Theravadin bhikkhuni after going the odds. Inspiring read biography on Ven. Dhammananda and Ven. Dr. Lee. They had gone through great hardships, discrimination and against the many odds in bringing equality to women in Buddhism in Thailand.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great inspiration post.

The unseen things are spiritual realities that are eternal and invisible to our physical eye. There are many forces and phenomena that are not visible to the naked eye. There are many things that humans cannot see yet there are some could see. For what is can be seen is only. Things do exist even we can’t see, believing their existence is our choice. Things that we can’t see in the world opens up a curiosity and exploration by some. Whether through scientific inquiry, or spiritual exploration, the pursuit of knowledge about the unseen can lead to profound insights about ourselves and the universe.
Malacca City is the historic capital of the coastal state of Malacca, in Malaysia serving as a link between east and west for over 500 years. Famous for breath-taking sights with rich heritage, ancient dark culture and history with many old centuries buildings with an interesting past and a colourful ghost story. For that reason alone it is worth visiting as is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site owing to its well-preserved historical center. There’s many historical mansions been passed down generation to generations and with many ghostly sighting by the locals and visitors. There’s the reason many unseen beings loitering and attached to these places. Such an interesting and incredibly creepy watching the video in this blog host by Li Kim. Li Kim had done a great work all along with her team to share with readers about our historic Malacca .
Thank you Rinpoche and Li Kim for this sharing.

Vajrayogini symbolizes the wisdom of all enlightened beings and embodies the impulse of inspiration that drives the Buddhas to attain the perfect enlightenment. Vajrayogini is one of the most effective practices for people today. We can make offerings such as gold or jewel offerings and so on. The offering of gold helps us to collect merits, spiritual attainments, gain a deeper connection to Vajrayogini. It also creates the causes to attain a Buddha’s body.
Make Offerings to Vajrayogini in Kechara Forest Retreat at Bentong is such an meritorious way for us to collect merits. All thanks to our Guru having conceptualised the idea of having a statue of Vajrayogini for everyone . Recitation of Vajrayogini mantra can be a powerful tool for self-transformation, healing and liberation from samsara.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing with details explanation .

Thank you, Rinpoche for sharing this insightful article. Life is short, and if we enjoy every moment of every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way. What ever matter to us at the time of death is nothing. In the end, it’s not the years in our life that count it’s what you leave behind that matters. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.Death is the golden key that opens the palace of eternity. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. Learning Dharma and practicing dharma is the our choice that’s matter. Some of the key points to take notes, read, study the Lam Rim and apply it, engage in Sadhana daily and consistently. No one will help us at the moment of death but ourselves. Spiritual practicing is the best choice.

Well the size of Buddha statues in Tibetan Buddhism is important because it represents the Buddha’s immense ability and vast knowledge. Hence the Buddha statues hold the symbol of satisfaction within, peace and happiness. They are a symbol of inspiration for every human being. When we focus on the Buddha statues, it gives us inner peace that our mind, our heart and our soul gets enlightened.
We have are so fortunate seeing and circumambulating where the 9-foot Dorje Shugden statue and with 500 mantra stones engraved with Dorje Shugden’s sacred mantra. As Rinpoche had said before the bigger and more Buddha statues helps in planting seeds of enlightenment in people’s mind-streams. It also help us to generate as much merit and purify as much karma as possible. Merely by seeing all those big statues at Kechara Forest Retreat is a blessing.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

The 4th Tagpu Pemavajra Jampel Tenpai Ngodrub, most commonly known as Tagpu Dorje Chang, was a highly accomplished yogi Highly attained lama who had many authentic visions of the Buddhas and even travel astrally to receive direct teachings from them. His recognised line of incarnations stem all the way back to the 14th Century. He is generally regarded as such amongst Gelug lineage holders. He spent most of his time in a hermitage located above Sera Monastery, gave teachings and transmitted many vital practices and lineages to his foremost student Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Besides receiving the complete instructions of Dorje Shugden’s practice, Tagpu Dorje Chang had many other mystical experiences throughout his lifetime. Interesting read biography of a highly accomplished mahasiddha lama.

n Tibetan culture, it is a popular and customary practice for families to invite monks to perform spiritual ceremonies such as Trusol rituals. The monks have had the opportunity to offer such ceremonies for individuals or their families. Such ceremonies purify the elements of the environment which helps those living or visiting there to experience good health, success and well-being. The sacred ritual of ‘bathing’ the Buddhas and consecration through which negativities, sicknesses and obstacles will be cleared. Where by filling those areas with positive energies and good vibes through this Trusol consecration puja. Water is an essential part of this puja and symbolises the cleansing of all negativities and impurities. Through this puja it also pacifies local deities and other unseen beings in the surrounding areas. We are indeed fortunate that Tsem Rinpoche has taught Kecharians this practice and it has benefited many.

Reading this post had me gain some knowledge of Shifter Werewolves. Any article regarding rare creatures or paranormal articles are of my interest since young. In European folklore, a werewolf is a man who turns into a wolf at night and devours animals, people, or corpses but returns to human form by day. They have the ability to transform from an ordinary human appearance to a partially-lupine form with pointed ears, mutton chops, claws and fangs, and a ridged brow . Wow… werewolf tends to be vicious and unable to control his blood thirst. Their underlying common origin can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European mythology. In many depictions, these bloodthirsty beasts are evil where they kill animals and innocent people. They are humans who transition into wolf-like creatures, after being placed under a curse. In folklore, most werewolves originate from being cursed or bitten by another werewolf. That’s what they do believe. According many enthusiasts, there’s many different type of werewolves such as Alpha wolves, Beta wolves , Deltas, Elders, some survive as loners while others move in packs. How true it is no one knows. I do believe their existing . Many interesting stories related to these wolves in the past history.

Beautiful Dorje Shugden at Malacca. One should pay a visit there, located at a busy tourist place. It was such an auspicious occasion that a grand Puja was held there. Dedicated students and volunteers were there getting the place ready for the grand puja. Well the Grand Dorje Shugden puja was conducted by very own Kechara puja team to commemorate the chapel’s 3rd anniversary. Many people attended the Puja that’s wonderful to receive the powerful Protector Dorje Shugden blessings. More people will make a connection and get to know Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, in the form of a Dharma Protector. May Dorje Shugden’s practice flourish to benefit those tourists and locals.

Venerable Geshe Rabten Rinpoche is a highly realised meditation master known as a debater, scholar, and meditation master, was the first Tibetan Buddhist master to introduce the complete Vinaya-tradition. He had also introduce the study of the five major topics of Buddhism to the West. He became the ‘path breaker’ of the complete and complex teachings of Buddhism in the West. Many masters, who are famous in the West today, were Geshe’s students. enerable Geshe Rabten. Geshe Rabten wrote the beautiful and Manjushri’s prayer called Gangloma and gave a profound explanation. We are so fortunate to learn about this Manjushri’s sacred prayer. May all be blessed by the practice of Lord Manjushri and Geshe Rabten’s explanation.

The begging bowl or alms bowl is one of the simplest but most important objects in the daily lives of Theravada Buddhist monks. The alms bowl still stands as an emblem of how all Buddhas, as numerous as grains of sand in the Ganges, practiced to end their desire. All those who receive the alms bowl should focus their mind to act with self-control and self-respect. Almsgiving is a tradition of Theravada Buddhists, majority in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Laos. In those early days of Buddhism, monks would take their bowls and go out begging for food. As today in Thailand one could see monks woke up before dawn every morning and carried his bowl through the roads or paths wherever he was staying. Local people would place food in the bowl as a donation, through the generosity of lay people. They accept whatever food is offered for them and eat whatever been given, serve as a blessing for the giver.
One bowl has held the food of a thousand families. A solitary monastic travels on his journey of a hundred thousand miles seeking liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Thank you H.E. Tsem Rinpoche for explaining the meaning of begging and gave us more reasons to be vegetarian . Create a awareness among us not killing animals to be one.

Ajahn Siripanyo, the son of billionaire Ananda Krishnan, chose to abandon his inheritance and become a Buddhist monk in pursuit of spirituality. A Thai-Malaysian monk born in London and educated in UK. He was ordained in Thailand and lived there, leaving behind a life of immense wealth and privilege. He did surprised many and his choice was unexpected. Initially as a temporary measure, but somehow later evolved into a permanent way of life. Ven. Ajahn Siripanyo is now the Abbot of hermitage Dtao Dam on the Thai-Burmese border in Saiyok National Park, Thailand.
He was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia years back giving an enthralling Dhamma talk on the timeless teachings of Ajahn Chah.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. 7 years ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
