Mumu’s Buddha Garden
Dear friends, I wanted to share this special space created with you… I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and finally did… I have a open area next to the house. I installed a running area and safety glass around the parameters. And then we put a mini-obstacle course and on top of the obstacles course, placed stupas and Buddhas. It has become Mumu’s Buddha Garden.
It is a space Mumu, Oser, Dharma and their friend Zamkar can play in, enjoy fresh air, run around, sniff around and generally relax. I have three dogs and I love them… This space was created specially for them. As there are blessed Buddha statues and stupas, when they run around they will circumambulate around and plant seeds of enlightenment in their minds. Also purify their karmas. The Buddha statues/stupas are filled with mantras, sutras and images of Buddhas and consecrated also. I want my doggies to have a great place to play and be blessed for a future better rebirth of Dharma…
You see I want to make sure they have a good life, comfortable and happy. That is very important to me. But one day I will have to separate from them and when I do, I want to make sure my three dogs take very good rebirths. So I try to imprint as much dharma as I can for them. So this Buddha Garden is for that purpose and they will have fun at the same time. Each time they run around the obstacle course, they will circumambulate around a holy object planting much seeds fo enlightenment for their future lives… gaining merit and making close affinity to the Buddhas… This way I know I did the best for them now and for their future… I want to make sure they are ok in their future lives also… My love must extend to their future lives which I can impact now with dharma… I love them. Tsem Rinpoche

The Chair
I have one chair I usually sit on to do my sadhana, watch a program, read, write, research and so on. But many times I return from my bathroom, Oser girl has taken over my chair. She gives me this look like, it’s her chair! She’s a spunky little schnauzer. The room has so much space, other sofas and places of interest, but my Oser has to hijack my chair always. I have to gently move her over and squeeze in next to her like I did last night into the same chair. We sat together for hours and she fell asleep in my chair huddled against me. Love is sharing a chair even though it’s meant for one occupant at a time. ? Tsem Rinpoche
It is incredible how smart Oser girl is. She can steal the treat away from Dharma boy and so casually. Wow. She is so smart. A must watch short video!! Tsem Rinpoche

Mumu boy was Tsem Rinpoche’s little Schnauzer. Partly because of Mumu Kechara was started and you must find out why that is. Do read more and see very cute adorable pictures: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/?p=122472

Wow….great idea to have beautiful Buddha garden for our lovely and cute pets.Mumu’s Buddha Garden is indeed very beautiful….an example for pet’s lover to follow provided they have a spacious place. But at least to have images of Buddha as suggested by Rinpoche. Oser, Dharma and Mumu are so fortunate to have a garden to play and be blessed for a future better rebirth of Dharma… Mumu, Oser and Dharma are so adorable love by all who see them.
Other then giving love and care for our pets we can do more for them as said by Rinpoche.Have a Stupa and Buddha statues around where by they can circumambulate around the Stupa, to implant Dharma seeds into their mind.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.
Rinpoche sees them as sentient beings, very precious and will definitely provide them method that spur them onto spiritual path but what we see is just pets. And what saddened me when I think of how precious are we to have human lives and yet we do not realised the preciousness of it.
Sorry, I am definitely happy for Mumu, Oser and Dharma.. only suddenly thought of the preciousness of having human lives.
Thank you Rinpoche .
It is a good idea that we made this garden to bless the dogs and plant seeds in their mind stream for a better rebirth and to be close to dharma in their next life. The dogs are so cute especially Dharma (yawning) Its very compassionate for Rinpoche to make this garden for the three extra cute dogs to be blessed.
It is nice to see that Rinpoche has gifted his wonderful 3 Mumu’s to a wonderful Buddha Garden where they can walk around, play with their friends Zamkar and Gizmo, relax, have a sniff of fresh air or just to stretch out!
What Rinpoche has added in to his Mumu’s Garden is even more amazing.
What Rinpoche added in to his Garden
1. A 3ft Manjushri Statue
2. A stupa
3. Lots of Butter lamp offerings which are offered everyday.
4. Lots of pots and plant for the Mumus to run around.
I even got the chance to wash the Mumus Buddha Garden yesterday and it was a very fun experience to be able to wash and clean Mumus Garden.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this Article!
what a nice place, and also so blessed and has fresh air too. i hope mumu and friends all have a good time at this little garden. have fun mumus!!
Mumu, Dharma and Oser are very fortunate to have Rinpoche. Rinpoche loves them like His own children. Rinpoche always told us that they do not have the fortunate to be reborn as a human. They cannot talk, cannot learn, practice or do dharma. One of the ways to help them is to let them collect merits. Rinpoche put a few Buddha statues and a Stupa in the garden to let them run around and circumambulate so that they collect merits. Same things goes to the fishes. Rinpoche also placed a few Buddha statues in the pond and let the fishes collect merits. Taking care of the doggies and fishes is one of the ways for us to collect merits and pro-long our lives
Mumu, Oser and Dharma are already very fortunate to meet Rinpoche in their current lives. Imagine how fortunate is it to be able to stay so close to high lama, even though they are born as dogs in this lifetime.
With this garden, these 3 doggies receive blessings for their future lives unknowingly while they play outside. How fortunate is this? Rinpoche’s compassion towards beings is not just for the current but also future lives.
Ever since I come to know Dharma, I also try to give the best to my little doggie. She has the pet pendant from Kechara and after my sandhana, I will always blow air on her body. I guess, this is what a pet lover will do – to provide them the best for not just this but also their future life. I believe, this is the best gift I can offer her in this current life.
What a wonderful and amazing garden for dogs to play at the same time circumambulate around Buddha Manjushri. So blessed! It is also good rain or shine as well as for exercising without having to go out to parks. This is really such a good idea.
The Buddha Garden is so lovely. Great way for the mumus to plant seeds of enlightenment in their minds and also purify their karmas for better future rebirths. The mumus must be very happy to have a play garden made specially for them.
They are such lucky dogs to be under the care of Rinpoche!
Such care of animals by Rinpoche, always ready to come out with fresh new ideas to benefit animals. And also in KSK dog food is provided to the volunteers to feed stray animals when they go out on their rounds. Hope many efforts will go towards making Malaysia a land that protects animals. Perhaps Malaysia can be a place where there is zero animal cruelty and abandonment.
What a wonderful place for Mumu and company. In the world where so many people are starving and having so little, Mumu, Oser and Dharma has this beautiful garden to run about. True indication of karma. This 3 dogs must have been very generous to the dharma in their past lives.
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for assimilating another kind, fun and meaningful method to practice Dharma for our loved ones in our daily life.
There is no better way to practice Dharma than in a manner that is CONSISTENT, EXPERIENTIAL and WITH RESULT. Creating a space like this for our pets can support us to achieve the above manner of practice: it creates a constructive and enjoyable activity the whole family unit engages in. Virtuous acts like this will enable the family unit to develop a harmonious environment in their home, collect merits to fuel their Dharma journey and purify the negative karma of their pets. With so much tangible benefits, it is likely that we will be encouraged to continue this activity which in turn develops consistency (and habituation) that results in more benefits…which eventually propels the positive spiral UPWARDS into the Dharma path!
This is another typical “Tsem Tulku Rinpoche skillful method” that will empower us to be Dharma in action. Thank you Rinpoche for your wisdom and compassion!
Rinpoche built such a Beautiful buddha garden for His three lovely and cute mumus showed that Rinpoche really love and care for all sentient beings and their future lives and i can see some of the pets owners are going to follow suite now, good for them.
what a wonderful way to care and love for our pets!
Love and care should exceed beyond this life’s time, Rinpoche’s compassion is beyond this life’s time for all his students including his beloved pets, Mumu, Dharma and Oser, fishes and birds….
planting dharma seeds and imprints is vital for animals as what can they do in this life besides playing, eating, sleeping?
A buddha garden like this for pets is surely the BEST way for them to play, run around and collecting merits while purifying their karma at the same time. It is not just a 3 in 1, but many-in 1 formula!
The Buddha Garden is so nice. Lucky for Mumu, Oser, Dharma & Zamkar.
This garden shown Rinpoche cares for them. Rinpoche not only care for their current life but even want them to be benefitted for their future lives. Everything is based on Rinpoche compassion.
They will collect a lot of merits for their future lives.
That is what we want and can offer to our loved ones.
Rejoice.
What a lovely example you set, Rinpoche, about how to care for our furry friends and pets.
To truly care is to care for them beyond this very short life, to plant Buddha and Dharma imprints for our pets to take good rebirth and to meet the Three Jewels and to receive the Dharma in their next lives.
I must make determine efforts to plant such sacred and precious seeds in my five adopted stray cats who’re now my very active and playful and often rumbustious pets.
This is a very nice garden 🙂 They are so adorable, please Rinpoche, give them many many many kisses and hugs for me! <3
“My love must extend to their future lives which I can impact now with dharma”
This is such a wonderful attitude to have towards pets and everyone around us. It is a good reminder that there is so much we can do for our pets if we truly love them. Rinpoche has set such a good example by having a Buddha garden for the doggies. But even before this, Rinpoche has produced pendants for pets and has always told everyone to blow mantras on animals whenever we see them.
I am glad for Mumu, Oser, Dharma and their friends and I am also happy that they have bought so much joy to Rinpoche.
By the way, the garden looks nice and cosy.
Rinpoche you are so compassionate that no other word can be replace. For people who has pet at home please take good care of them, because they don speak to us. Our rinpoche show a very good example for us to learn to love sentient beings whom extended to animals too. I love my Bruno ( beagle) too.
Mumu’s garden is so beautiful.
Rinpoche is very kind and compassionate towards all sentient being. Rinpoche’s care and love to Mumu, Oser and Dharma is never ending.
Rinpoche make all the way to ensure they are ok now and in the future. I love the way, will make suggestion to all my friends who has pet, they should give the precious blessing to all their pets.
Wow! What a great idea Rinpoche. Now Oser, Dharma and Mumu can run around freely and circuambulate while doing so. I personally do not have pets so what I did was put a White Tara appliqué thangka in my hall so whenever friends and relatives come into the house they can see Her and have the seeds planted in their mind. The garden is really beautiful! Its really good that many put effort for this beautiful garden.
Look at what Rinpoche did even for his pets. We should be doing this for the people around us too by doing anything we can for them to connect to dharma and remain with Dharma. Now I can understand why are there so many different departments in Kechara. It’s to link different type of people to the Dharma. I’ve brough my best friend who love photography to Kechara InMotion, then to Kechara Soup Kitchen, then to Kechara Care. Through this I can let him connect to the Dharma gradually by knowing that practising Dharma can be in many different ways. Then I asked him to read Rinpoche’s blog. Now he’s reading Rinpoche’s blog very frequently. Eventhough he is a Christian, he told me that he likes Rinpoche’s teaching a lot. I feel very happy for him. For me, I have never thought of converting him to Buddhist but I’m doing this because I wanted to share with him what I really love. He had helped me a lot before, and I think this is the only best thing that I can give to him.
Beautiful and neat garden.Mumu,Dharma and Oser are the luckiest dog in the world! With Buddhas and stupas in the garden to bless them each time they run around the garden.Right now I’m missing my dog!!
One lesson learnt from this is to extend our love to our loved ones, not only in this lifetime but future lifetimes and that is Dharma. The greatest gift.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the beautiful pictures.
Rinpoche you are indeed a Buddha who walk the dharma you spoke! Who would have thoughts of making their pets m ambulated Buddha statues while playing?
I wish all the pet owners would create their own mums gardens !
I wish Mumu, Oscar and Dharma good rebirth..
What a splendid idea Rinpoche! As always! 🙂
Now Mumu can play and have fun AND plant seeds of Buddhahood in their minds. Now when they invite their good friend Zamkar over, they have bigger space to themselves. One day when we build KWPC, they can all have their own playgrounds and perhaps sleep over parties??? Hahaha!
JP worked hard to ensure that the Mumu’s Buddha Garden is done well. Thank you JP, on behalf of Mumu, Oser, Dharma and Zamkar. Woof Woof!xxx
Dear Rinpoche,
It is so liberating to see Mumu and friends running around Buddha Garden and have the exercise which is good for them. Freedom is what I felt seeing them in the Garden.
Thank goodness, that the “seldom used” pool is converted to this wonderful garden to benefit Mumu.
Each time when I was in The Haven, I see all the mumus running around and playing, chasing after each other and an object that was thrown for them to play with. It is fun and funny seeing them happy in their Buddha’s Garden.
It took a few days for the contractor to complete this special garden and now the mumus can enjoy their interaction and exercise.
Rinpoche’s kind and compassionate thoughts and actions go way beyond just only for humans.
Thank you Rinpoche for these images. It is is thoughtful and compassionate to create not only a covered beautiful garden for Mumu, Oser and Dharma, but also to have Buddhas in it.
As Rinpoche kindly explained above.
When they play, they actually cir-ambulate around the Buddha, adding a wonderful karmic connection and purifying negative karma.
And when they are in the garden, ENJOYING it and SEEING Buddhas, they are connecting images of Buddhas with a pleasant and safe experience. In their next lives, when they will see a Buddha image, they will associate it with something pleasant, they will find it attractive and therefore will have an interest and an open mind about what the statue represents.
I must do the same in my garden for my dogs…
The Buddha Garden is very nice with so many holy item around the garden it sure plants seeds of Dharma in all 3 mumu’s, how lucky they are, furthermore the obstacle course is a fun place for them to run around, exercise and most importantly purify their karma by circumambulating, Rinpoche put so much love and care to Mumu, Oser and Dharma.
A garden that full of blessing, very lucky mumusss hehehe..they are sooooooo cute!! Having a space for them to play its very important as doggies will get depress easily if they keep in a closed space. These mumus are very blessed to have Rinpoche to take care of them and make sure they are ok and have a good rebirth when they leave. I wish i can run around in the garden too hehehe..very holy and bless place 🙂
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this beautiful garden.
Love the garden!!! Uber cool! Lucky Mumu, Dharma and Oser.
Incredible love for animals which extend to their future lives. As can be seen here the way Rinpoche loves animals is similar to the way Rinpoche loves human beings if not even more. Everything that Rinpoche does for his close students and everybody else are always immensely impactful and meaningful for present and future lives.
Your fortune to eternal happiness is at your door step, do not miss it!
Good morning Rinpoche. Oser, Dharma and Mumu are very very lucky and fortunate to be with you. I pray that the sufferings of animals will end one day, and it is my dream to see that we humans treat our four legged family with respect, love and kindness. I dream that one day I live in a small cottage in the country and have my four legged family enjoy the space like your beautiful garden. With folded hands, thank you for sharing Rinpoche.
The awning is great. Even when it’s raining, the area stays relatively dry and the doggies can go out and play. We leave the door open so they can go in and out as they like most of the day.. I like this space for them so much…The new place we are building will have a much bigger space for them. I am excited for them.
Wow, this is very compassionate and creative effort to imprint dharma to animals, in this case the 3 cute dogs 😉
Very good example of caring to all kind of sentient beings and should learn from Rinpoche to not just limiting dharma to sentient beings in human form but also sharing it to any other animals whenever we have chance to do so because only dharma can change the life condition of any being. Usually when feeding dogs or cats, I would recite ‘Om Ah Ra Ba Za Na Di’ and blow to them while they are eating. Hope this way could help them too. Hehe….
Thank you for sharing. Take good care, Rinpoche
What a wonderful idea, I love it!!! Gonna do this as soon as I get a bigger place 😀 Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Beautiful garden, with such beautiful statues, lucky Mumu, lucky dogs and very good for everybody who sees the statues.
Thank you for sharing Rinpoche
Blessed garden for the cuties. Its such a fabulous and creative place. How nice.
Whoops. That’s “I think I’ll borrow that idea for my doggie friends, too.”
Your doggies really are so cute!!! And what a great idea, Rinpoche, with the statues so they can circumambulate. Thank you for the idea. I think I’ll borrow for my doggye friends, too!
Wow, i think Mumu, Dhamar and Oser will like the garden very much and blessed every monment there… Thank u Rinpoche…
What a wonderful garden! My little one would be jealous if she saw this!
In all seriousness, a Buddha Garden really is a beautiful way to benefit our four legged friends. Thank you for posting this!
