Question asked by Apple
Dearest Rinpoche, i was very excited when i came to your blog few days ago while looking for vegan pet food i somehow got into one of your sites = ' Malaysian vegetarian Health Minister'. I have always been thinking it would never be possible to ever be near any high level people=Rinpoche. I only came across the name of 'Lama Zopa Rinpoche' as a guru of one of the famous writer Lilian. I am really Thankful and most Impressed with all your kind and warm actions! I like your blog very much, the design/patterns/organisation/different features, lots of interesting topics to read and learn. but Apologies i do not really understand dharma/karma/reincarnation/enlightenment… guess i need to read more and more and more from your blog ? kekee. Dear Rinpoche, do you think i can ask you about my 70yo parent? her memory seems to be deteriorating year after year…nowadys she only recognises us that is the family members that she meets daily. she does not recognise those relatives who visit her once in a while. Many years ago, when doctor said she need operation for some stones in her, i went to pray to Kuan Yin at the small temple here and on her visit to the doctor agin, the doctor said no need to operate she was ok. So i noted that the Kuan Yin in that temple is real (or was that a coincidence?) As her memory was not good, i had been praying the short Kuan Yin verse for her daily but now it seems that its totally useless or the doctor cancelled the operation last time was actually a coincidence? Somehow i got heat up whenever i got hom from work to have meal with the family. I had wanted to be vegan but my family is very biased on this.
Nevertheless, my dad wil cook different veg too so i take those veg only. I tried to order vegetarian food on chinese day 1 and day 15 but there are some hiccups in that… (i hope they can gradually turn to veg food)…
My bad mood will at times trigger my mom's mood swing which will also heat up my dad. After that, everytime, i'm thinking/hated myself, i'm a very disgraceful child. There is a saying…meat and non-meat person cannot stay under the same roof…is that true….
Dear Apple,
1 Meat eaters and vegetarians can stay under one roof. Be patient and respectful. Not eating meat is wonderful, but you are dealing with people’s ignorance and lack of understanding how animals suffer. It is important in time that by our own behaviour perhaps we can inspire others.
2. For any type of mind improvements and memory, it is excellent to focus on Manjushri. To practice Manjushri repeatedly would be very helpful. You can contact Ms Jean Mei in Kechara house as she often engages in Manjushri retreats. Please call into Kechara Care Dept. tel: 03 7880 8031
3. Regarding your parent with memory loss. I am sorry to hear. It would be good to recite OM AH RA BAZA NADEE. But remember this will plant dharma imprints and bless their minds but not reverse what has already taken place.
I am glad my blog can enhance your reading. I am very happy to know this.
Much good luck, TR
