Question asked by Clara Tang
Dear Rinpoche, I have a question, not relevant to the posted subject, but why do most of us leave behind all we have learn in our past lives and start afresh again.. unless one is very attained or has some reminiscence, we usually have absolutely no recollection of what we have learn or experience, doesn’t this makes us go three steps forward and one step backwards? Or it is meant to be, so that we could relearn and do more homework. Humbly yours… (forwarded from 'Have Your Say' section)
Rinpoche has many requests daily therefore, this section is managed by the pastors to help answer questions or point you to a place where you can get your own answers.
Our mind is untrained and we take rebirth based on the force of our karma. Attained beings have developed the mind that is in control of their life as well as death and rebirths. Why then do we not remember what we ate for lunch say, 9 days ago? We do not have to go so far back to our past or future lives to find the answer.
Therefore, we study, contemplate, meditate, engage in retreats to develop a controlled mind.
We are very fortunate that recently Rinpoche gave the explanation and prayers for White Manjushri. I would highly recommend you take a read and do the practice.
