Question asked by Desperate
Please help. I feel so tired of life being the sole provider of the family. What can I do to live a more meaningful life? I can't join any religious centre because I don't have the time and money which will cause others to look down on me. What else can I do so that I don't have to suffer like now in my future lives. Can I do anything on my own without seeking help?
Dear Desperate,
I am sorry to hear that you feel like this. You are right that life is suffering as the Buddha taught. But what you must not forget is that the Buddha also taught us the cure to this suffering, which is practicing the Dharma. When we practice the Dharma, we can overcome our suffering and pain in life, and are able to do something more positive with our lives.
Time and money shouldn’t be factors on your spiritual path. Yes, i understand that you may be very busy at work to provide for your family but you must make time to focus on your spiritual journey. if you do not then you won’t get anywhere and still be stuck feeling like this.
For a start you begin the practice of Lama Tsongkhapa. This practice is very beneficial. This practice can help to calm the mind, easing the worries of life if engaged in properly. It is a short practice compared with many other Buddhist practices. Once you have a good foundation in this, you can continue to learn other teachings that will help you for sure.
There is a commentary to this practice by H.E. 25th Tsem Rinpoche available here: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/me/tsongkapas-daily-practice-video-commentary.html
