Question asked by Jon
Dear Rinpoche,
I have a question about the paramita of giving, my understanding is that i should aim to be more giving,
Does it matter to who i am more giving (or giving at all) should it just be to the Dharma or to friends and other beings and causes too?
I aim to be more giving to all but i like to know if all the giving 'counts' towards the paramita of giving or only counts when its for Dharma?
Thank you Rinpoche and all at Kechara for your efforts.
Jon 😀
Dear Jon,
It does not matter who you give to. You can start by giving to people you have no aversion to working toward being able to give to anyone not dependent on your feelings towards them, but in relations on how it benefits them.
Giving does not have to be ‘towards dharma’ alone. It can be even toward hungry street dogs with a motivation to help them…then that is giving. True giving is to benefit others. There are many levels of benefit of course.
