Question asked by Julie
Dear Pastors,
I'm 33 years old and i'm alone. i speak hardly to people and go so fare that i have even voice problems. my interaction with persons are very short answers as : Hello /Bye and have a good day.
My problem after so many years is not to be alone as to be confronted with stuff that remember me that other have fun at weekend, see friends, go out. I live like behind a window.
I tried to get in touch with persons, i'm fare away to be shy but where i live they are not interesed to know or to make new friends. so i dont even try anymore. I tell me the right persons will come when is the right time. But time fly and i dont know if i need to learn something about situation.
In this time i try to learn about myself and think that my way of life is maybe a chance in our world. But what is life without interaction? My chance is that i am not bound to superficial things but on the other hand thats what make person scare if i get to know someone better ( last person was 3 years ago) she said to me, you speak like an old person because i give deep answers. What i would like is not to make party all time is just to have a good friend to speak sometimes even if its just 1 time in 6 months but that would make me happy. How should i handle the situation?
Dear Julie,
Within Buddhism we believe that there are two levels to life, the secular and the spiritual. So in order to handle various situations in life, we need to do two things. On a spiritual level, you can engage in the joint practice of Lama Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden. Both of these forms of the Buddhas are emanations of Manjushri who is the Buddha of wisdom. Manjushri is also known as the Buddha of speech, therefore we can develop powerful speech when we engage in his practice. Dorje Shugden’s practice is very well-known to help remove obstacles in our lives, making our lives smoother. You can find the practice here: http://www.dorjeshugden.org/practice/diamond-path-a-daily-sadhana-of-dorje-shugden.
On a secular level we should also seek other methods to help deal with situations. When we put effort into trying to find methods to deal with the situations we face, we are actually putting effort into battling the negative karma that has caused the problem in the first place. Coupled with the spiritual practices that we engage that also have the effect of purifying the negative karma, our spiritual practices are more successful in their aim.
By using both secular and spiritual means together, we are able to overcome negative situations. I hope this helps. Thank you.
