Question asked by Kev
Hi, I’ve got a few questions I hope you can answer. 1. What preliminary things I should do in order to get Vajra Yogini initiation? 2. Since Rinpoche is in USA, should I finished all the required preliminaries, how does he give me initiation since he’s so far away? Can the pastors give initiation? 3. Can I do ALL the preliminary required at the Gompa?
For example the water offerings, mandala…etc.
My home do not have all these.
Can I just come to the Gompa to do all these everyday? 4. What’s the AVERAGE month/years to complete all these preliminaries before getting the Vajrayogini Initiation if we do it everyday.
Would like a number please… 5. I would like to know how to become a monk in Kechara? Thank you for your time. Kev
Dear Kev,
Please find below as per your request:
1. We need to read up and learn Lam Rim, Wheel of Sharp Weapons, Bodhisattvacharyāvatāra by Shantideva, Lojong, 50 Verses of Guru Devotion by Ashvagoshabefore we receive Vajrayogini’s practices and complete all the preliminaries practise before we can be considered for any teachings, not only higher training like Vajrayogini. Those texts that I’ve mentioned are also applicable generally to anyone who would like to learn the dharma.
2. This is only relevant if point 1 is fulfilled.
3. Preliminary practices are not advised to be done in the Gompa, as you require a fixed altar set up and fixed seat for some of the practices to be done, such as water offering, Ganden Lhagyama, Vajrasattva practices. If you are serious about the practices, please set up a proper altar at home. If you need ideas and assistance, please go to http://www.kechara.com/shopping/ or http://www.vajrasecrets.com. You can also visit any of the Kechara Paradise if you reside in Malaysia.
4. The time require for preliminaries practices to be completed vary by individual. Some takes 1 months for 1 practice to be done, some 10 years. So it is all depending on you.
5. Are you involve in Kechara in anyway? If not, please consider to start attending the weekly pujas and dharma class as well as offering your voluntary services and then go from there.
Hope this helps.
