Question asked by Kimberly
Thank you so much for all the articles and videos promoting why we should all be vegetarians. I have friends who are eat meat, in fact some without meat in their menu will feel the meal is incomplete. How can I communicate for them to stop eating meat without sounding fanatical and flooding them with information they are mentally not ready to receive? I really just want them to start a day at a time.
Dear Kimberly,
It is very kind and caring of you to bring your friends to vegetarianism. Most important is you stay firm and you stick your way of eating. Over time during conversations, you can slip in informtation here and there. You can gift them with videos on their Birthdays, World Earth Days, or Kuan Yin Days. Make it look like a gift.
Since they are your friends, you would know them better how to skilfully bring them the message. Over time, if you persist, you can convince some. It took me years to convince my friends also. The key is to be skilfull and not to give up because you don’t want animals butchered, tortured and eaten. Never give up.
Much good luck to you. Tsem Rinpoche
