What was Rinpoche doing around 3 to 4AM?

By | Jun 30, 2012 | Views: 1,569

This section features articles and true stories written by Tsem Rinpoche’s personal attendant Pastor Loh Seng Piow. Being Rinpoche’s personal attendant means that I am able to witness real Dharma in action, both on and off the throne. I consider myself extremely fortunate, and at the same time it is also a great challenge to instill Dharma in my life 24/7.

Over the years I have witnessed many cases of how Rinpoche helped many people in both worldly and supramundane ways, it is my wish that through these stories many will be inspired to achieve the state of compassion and attainments like Tsem Rinpoche, so that many more sentient beings can be helped.

Pastor Loh Seng Piow

What was Tsem Rinpoche doing early in the morning while most people were sleeping? Last night at around 3:20AM, Tsem Rinpoche visited University Hospital to do a blessing for a Kechara Paradise’s staff’s mom who was going for a serious operation on the next day, Rinpoche did a black tea offering and a simple blessing ritual for a smooth operation, and had a nice talk with the family. Then at around 4:00AM, Rinpoche went to a funeral wake of the mom of a Kechara member, he and his wife are very devoted members who have volunteered a lot in Kechara. Rinpoche comforted the family and then did a ritual to bless the mom’s mind for a swift rebirth. Rinpoche’s care and compassion for others has no limit, as long as he is needed, Rinpoche will be there, no matter where and what time it is.

Rinpoche’s limitless care and compassion for others has no boundary, nor matter what time and place. Rinpoche will be there , giving blessing. Looking at those pictures tells us all. Rinpoche had indeed benefited many people in many ways.
Thank you Pastor seng Piow for this wonderful story to inspire us all.

Some people they are everything. One person can be your friend, father, mother, uncle, brother, mentor, guardian, guru and buddha. It’s incredible. Your bodhicitta and wisdom never failed to amaze this world. May we come under your guidance forever. Long live the buddhadharma. All the current students of Rinpoche must gain attainments quickly and assist Rinpoche on a wider scale. May the students please the lama.

  3. Jacinta Goh on Apr 30, 2014 at 12:03 am

A simple story but filled with love, care and compassion. I always hear the word ‘Bodhicitta’ and ‘without a second-delay’…. Perhaps, the combination of both means ACTiON.
I pray that there will be many ‘Rinpoches’ in action in the near future.

  4. Julien Roth on Nov 19, 2013 at 11:36 pm

Rinpoche’s care and compassion really does have no limit. We are all very lucky to have such a kind Guru which cares about us and who will do whatever is in his power to make us happy. And here is such a perfect example of his care.

  5. Beatrix Ooi on Oct 29, 2013 at 11:32 pm

Rinpoche has always been very kind and compassionate Lama, He would always care for people no matter who they or where are they from. Most of us would have been asleep at this hour, but Rinpoche puts others in front, so matter how tired or exhausted He is, Rinpoche would still insists to help others first. This is one of the many awesome qualities our Guru has, Rinpoche is my role model.

  6. Lucas Roth on Aug 29, 2013 at 9:23 pm

Rinpoche is so caring that he would give so much time and effort into helping others, he is such a wonderful person. He prays for families and people in need and helps them. We could never give enough to repay him. Please live long Rinpoche and may kechara continue to grow.

Thank you Seng Piow for showing what Rinpoche has been doing “behind the scene” caring for many people..

I have followed Rinpoche in one of the late nights to attend to a couple to cope with miscarriage baby. The amount of love and care Rinpoche showed is a lesson learnt for me. From caring for them through words of console, to Dharma teachings, to caring for their stomach, etc. Rinpoche showed us how it means to be compassionate. It also shows that we need to understand Dharma so that we can calm a person’s mind in a critical situation.

  8. Wan Wai Meng on Jul 24, 2012 at 11:03 pm

I was at a Kecharian’s daughter funeral and Rinpoche was there consoling the Kecharian and his family members really put them at ease and helped them to deal with their grief. I hope one day I can do what Rinpoche did that night, I want bring relief to people’s minds when they have lost a loved one.

Seng Piow, I would like to thank you for posting up these pictures. It will remind all of us how little we are doing and how take things for granted we are. Sleepless nights our Rinpoche has and he is always out to bless and save more beings. Looking at this fuels my dharma passion even more than what it is already.

I can not imagine that the life without Rinpoche. Thanks Rinpoche for your kindness.

  12. Thierry on Jul 7, 2012 at 6:21 pm

What we (maybe) do for our family and friends, Rinpoche does for literally everyone, with equal care and without awaiting anything in return. This is what we call GIVING, the real GIVING.

  13. Paris on Jul 6, 2012 at 3:13 am

I was there on the night and had the chance to go around with Rinpoche for the two blessings. We didn’t finish until about 4am, after which Rinpoche went for another meeting with a few of us who were accompanying him. There were some urgent matters to discuss, so although he was already so tired, Rinpoche still stayed up late to talk through the various issues.

And this is how it is every single day/night for Rinpoche, on the go, all the time while the rest of the world is tucked up fast asleep in their beds.

    • Li Kheng on Jul 11, 2012 at 2:11 pm

Wow, every single day and night!

I know of situations where individuals can do super beneficial stuff once in a while, sometimes, frequently etc. But, there is extremely few people who can consistently dedicate every moment of his or her life to benefit someone else. Rinpoche is certainly one of these rare jewels.

Besides being in activity that brings benefit to others, I experience Rinpoche using every possible scenario to teach pure Dharma. Therefore, as we run around helping others, we gain the precious opportunity to learn and instantly apply Dharma.

    Dear Seng Piow,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It is a blessing to the family for Rinpoche to attend and perform a ritual to bless the decease’s mind. While many were sleeping, Rinpoche went out to the hospital and later attended a funeral. It shows Rinpoche’s really care and have much so loving kindness to everyone.

An unconditional love from Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. We are blessed and fortunate to meet our Guru. I remember when my parents and grandma were in the hospital, i really don’t know what to do beside chanting. I totally understand how the family feels, especially when this difficult time they are going through and Rinpoche came in to help. They are very blessed.

Thank you for posting this Seng Piow.

Rinpoche works tirelessly for all sentient beings, there’s no boundaries when it comes to care and compassion. Rinpoche’s selflessness and love without agenda shows us how a Lama would help us to ease our suffering regardless time and space. Intellectualizing Dharma is not enough, we should put what we’ve learnt in Dharma into actions to benefit others.

Thank you Seng Piow for taking care of Rinpoche 24/7. It is beyond words on how the efforts and devotions you have towards our Guru. Rinpoche’s effort and compassion is indescribable and at times the situation requires Him to go to certain places at abnormal hours mostly while most of us are snoring away. And with this post it is very inspiring for us to do much more towards other and not focusing solely on ourself. Thank You Rinpoche and thank you Seng Piow for this post.

  25. Uncle Eddie on Jul 3, 2012 at 12:25 pm

Our Rinpoche used to remind us in his teachings, that the purpose of becoming a buddha is to benefit the world, to benefit all sentient beings. Rinpoche like a Buddha to all beings will spend endless hours a day to free all beings from suffering whenever necesary. Similarly, Rinpoche has great compassion to feel that sentient beings’ sufferings are unbearable and put upon himself the resposibility of liberating them from sufferings. Therefore, Rinpoche’s care and compassion for all others knows no bounds, as long as he is needed! Like Pastor Ngeow said, “Rinpoche is really altruism on the go whenever needed”.

  26. Yoke Fui on Jul 3, 2012 at 7:02 am

Our Lama works 24 hours non stop to help others out of their pains and suffering. I think he will be thinking of ways and means in his sleep to help others !

  27. Milly on Jul 3, 2012 at 12:10 am

Rinpoche’s care and compassion for all sentient beings, dead or alive holds no boundaries. While most of us were tucked in our beds sleeping soundly, Rinpoche and his dedicated students were working so hard to help other sentient beings. Thank you Seng Pioh for your updates via emails as well.

I still have so much to train myself and learn to be compassion at anytime, anywhere, & to anyone.
RInpoche not just compassion to people, he is also compassion to all beings such as animals and all from other realms. I am fortunate enough to go on a short half a day trip with Rinpoche. He is bringing dog food with him and feeding all the skinny dogs. In addition, I remember reading a post that he said we do not harm the spirit, we just respect and make peace with them.
Thank you Rinpoche for showing us by example. You are setting the benchmark for me to follow and challenge myself to be better each day!

  31. kenny wong on Jul 2, 2012 at 5:14 pm

Rinpoche’s actions are examplary, no matter how busy his schedule is, he will take the time (even if it means getting down to the ground level)to benefit others. We must learn from his actions to do the best in whatever we do. Even if we are just a lowly street cleaner, we should do our best or at least try our very best …. and not just carry out a half-pass six job…

  32. Judy Lam on Jul 2, 2012 at 4:20 pm

  36. Julia Tan on Jul 2, 2012 at 8:03 am

Rinpoche tirelessly care and benefit others in whatever way He can. Rinpoche’s compassion and love to all sentient beings are equal. No matter who you are, he will reach out and help. Many people asked, What is Rinpoche doing everyday? Why is he always busy. Rinpoche has to take care of many many things from someone’s mind to someone’s health. Rinpoche’s always is the hurry because he cannot bear to see us suffer more, knowing that our time is running out.

  37. AdelineTan on Jul 2, 2012 at 12:13 am

Being Rinpoche’s personal attendant is very challenging and not an easy job but you can learn lots of things from Rinpoche directly like what you have said to instill dharma in your life 24/7,you are indeed very fortunate, you must have collected lots of merits in your previous lives to be able to serve a living bodhisattva so closely i rejoice! Thank you SP for sharing this post with us about Rinpoche’s unconditional love and compassion for all sentient beings.

    Dear Rinpoche,
I am really thankful and speechless when Rinpoche spent precious time to comfort and bless my mom.
Thank you Rinpoche for advice. It’s a lifetime opportunity to being care by Rinpoche.
There is nothing i can repay Rinpoche’s help and all the Kecharians who know and doesn’t know me has helped to pray for my mom.
But i believe the best gift for Rinpoche is mind transformation on oneself. I will work hard and smart to bring Dharma to all.

To Tsem Rinpoche and the 3 jewels, i take refuge and prostate.

Mom’s brain operation was successful, docs will do test on the 4 cm tumor that had been removed to determined what treatment to be done.

    Thank you!

I am happy to know that mum is ok now. Please remember to take good care of her after the operation. I am happy that Rinpoche blessed mum and you followed the instructions to help her. May you and your family always be blessed by Rinpoche and the 3 Jewels.

    • henry ooi on Jul 3, 2012 at 1:40 pm

Yes, Darren. Your mother had the great fortune to be blessed by Rinpoche and it is due to the merit you accrued working in Kechara Paradise. You and your family have received the best care, love and compassion from Rinpoche and you may return the gratitude by doing more for others. You are young and smart and have an inquisitive mind. Read more on articles in this blog because this blog contains a wealth vase of information, information that will greatly inspire you and with that to do more dharma to benefit others. Ask questions if unsure but ask not to challenge but to understand.

Remember your promise to Rinpoche that night at your mother’s hospital bed in the presence of your father. Take vegetarian vows for three months, offer serkym to Lord Setrap daily and do the mantra .

I wish your mother a speedy recovery. I wish you a successful career in dharma.

My family n I had benefitted from him too and his care n compassion had moved me to commit to volunteering for Kechara’s activities. By contributing, Kechara may have that little extra to spread Rinpoche’ teachings to help others in need. It is always wonderful to see Rinpoche in action! It is truly wonderful to see the true Dharma illustrated in such an amazing way!

Thank you, Seng Piow, for sharing this story of Rinpoche and his boundless compassion!

  48. Any Loke on Jun 30, 2012 at 9:13 pm

Dear Rinpoche, your compassion is so great that you always touch our heart deeply. You even reach out to a great non believer with no objection any more towards Kechara and Rinpoche, he was never been so acceptance before and now Rinpoche’s true compassion gave him a hundred percent allowing us (Bean and me) to dedicate ourselves into dharma fully.
All the obstacles cleared in the presence of Rinpoche and despite the hour that we spent to sleep but Rinpoche will just keep on performing miracles for dharma, now we really need to contemplate, did we do enoough for dharma, did we transform ourselves and have we practrice altruism?
WE NEED TO DO MORE… for Rinpoche is setting all the examples for us, this is the path, this is the way, if we can gain relisation from the examples of Rinpoche, why not just work all the way through without hesitation.
With our hands folded we bow down to Rinpoche
On behalf of the whole family members, Bean and Any would like to thank Rinpoche for blessing our beloved Mom, Lam Choy for her swift and good rebirth.

  49. Joy on Jun 30, 2012 at 7:36 pm

When everyone is fast asleep… this is what Rinpoche together with those working closely with Rinpoche does. Quietly without fuss… to benefit someone even after they have passed away. To bring comfort, solace and peace to the family members of the deceased, and to give prayers and guidance to the one that’s on the migrating path. Rinpoche is not just about compassion, it’s about compassion in “action”… a rare Guru to stumble upon these days. Let us appreciate this fortune of ours to have found Rinpoche by giving back through our transformation by showing action & result. Thank you Rinpoche for reminding us our body is impermanent and we must use it to benefit others while we still can.

Rinpoche’s kindness, love and care do not limit to only his students or people he knows, he is available as long as people need him. To show appreciation and gratitude to Rinpoche, replicate what he is doing, start to care and love people we know and people we do not know. Peace start from ourselves.

    Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

  59. JP on Jun 30, 2012 at 2:16 pm

We hear of people hospitalised or passing away every week. Rinpoche would help them regardless pf the time and day. As Rinpoche always tell us, helping others cannot be confined within any restrictions. That’s pure compassion. If we only help others when it’s convenient to us, that’s not pure compassion. The 2 families were touched by Rinpoche’s care and genuine concern for them.

When it comes to the crunch, money can’t offer the mental comfort that a spiritual pracitioner like Rinpoche can.

  60. nicholas on Jun 30, 2012 at 1:55 pm

Thank you Tsem Rinpoche’s personal attendant Seng Piow for sharing the real Dharma in action. This really shows how our Lama act and show his genuine love and care for his students and others. Rinpoche always walk the talk and no other things will stop Rinpoche for benefiting other as this the reason for Rinpoche to be enthroned.

Having a high Lama with us is truly a blessing and this rare opportunity should not be waste for nothing. What the Lama wants is for us to transform and benefit more people. Whatever the Lama says or instruction is for us to achieve this ultimate goal. We should show our gratitude by following all the Lama instruction and do it well. The Lama knows better what best for us and we should have great Guru devotion and follow all the way.
This sharing show us that Rinpoche work around the clock just for others and we shall we shall put the same effort for Kechara to grow and to benefit more people.

To a Bodhisattva, every life counts. There is no conventional time frame of day and night, when help is needed. This is particularly more so when a life faces the threat of death or death has occurred. This is when the compassionate and caring Rinpoche responds immediately to a call for blessings to protect the life or blessings for a swift good rebirth.

That is why Rinpoche is busily engaged even in the wee hours of the morning.

Thank you Personal Attendant Seng Piow for publishing this and I am sure this section will give readers an insight into ‘A Day of a High Lama’. We are often asked why does our Lama stay up till so late everyday? Why doesnt he go to sleep early and take care of his health? Well, your blog post here answers it all. So does this story below.

I remember reading somewhere that once there was a monk who was about to start a retreat with his students. They were by the river. the monk saw an ant that was about to drown. He got up to rescue the ant. As he was sitting down, he saw more ants drowning and he kept getting up to save them. One irrate student spoke up and asked the monk to settle down as they are to do a retreat. The monk replied “how can I sit down when I know that so many lives are in danger? How can I settle down when they are crying for help?”

Care, Love, Compassion from Rinpoche show us the true Bodhisattvas for us. Thanks Seng Piow for sharing with us. We hope that we also can show our care, love and compassion not selectively to help and show respect to all sentient beings as soon possible. And the most important, we should learn more Dharma to help others when necessary.

Rinpoche is altruism on the go wherever and whenever help is needed. If we don’t quite understand the meaning of the phrase ‘ bodhisattvas help others unconditionally ‘ Rinpoche’s example here, is it.We are most fortunate to witness and be in the presence of a living bodhisattva and to be his student. Even though unworthy, he still take us into his fold.

  65. Lai on Jun 30, 2012 at 11:52 am

Rinpoche’s care and compassion for others has no limit, Thanks Rinpoche for the teaching and care, also Thanks to Seng Piow too, the one always tireless hand held to capture Rinpoche teaching video.

Rinpoche’s compassion and love goes beyond limits – it functions out of the boundaries of a clock — no time is too late for Rinpoche to help his student or student’s family.

Revisit this interesting truth where not many people knew the actual story behind . With great effort and research finally the story unfolded. In Tibet, Oracles play, an important part in principal roles assisting governmental decision-making and providing intelligence revelation, religion, doctrine, and prophecy. To this day the Tibetan government still believe and rely in Nechung Oracle. When Nechung oracle took trance, it is actually spirit Nyatrul who has causes problems and misprophecies. Nechung is bound by oath to protect the Dharma. Nechung prophecies are unreliable, most probably given by Nyatrul spirit to the Tibetan government. Such as wrong medication given to the 13 th Dalai Lama as prescribed by the Nechung Oracle. Another misprophecies was during the British invasion. If it was really Nechung who took trance of the Oracle, these types of misprophecies would not have happen. As mentioned in the 6th Dalai Lama biography, we cannot trust or rely on Nechung’s prophecies. It was said that Nyatrul not Nechung who created the problems and harm to Dorje Shugden . It must have told HH the Dalai Lama to ban Dorje Shugden .
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor Jean Ai for this interesting article.

In Tibetan Buddhism, water offerings, particularly the seven or eight bowls offering, are a common practice used to express gratitude, cultivate merit, and purify the mind. The seven bowls represent essential aspects of offerings and can be offered daily, along with other items like flowers, incense, and lamps. Water offerings are probably the most common offering made in Tibetan Buddhism. Offering any item of value to the three jewels is the antidote to greed and attachment and helps to cultivate generosity. It is a powerful practice that can help us develop positive qualities such as generosity, devotion, and selflessness. By making water offering, we are creating good karma for ourselves and all sentient beings in the future. Great explanations and teachings all about water offerings.

H.H. Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche (1878–1941), also known as Dechen Nyingpo Jampa Tenzin Trinlay Gyatso, was one of the great lamas of the twentieth century. was a highly influential teacher in Tibet and a prominent lama in the 20th century. He was the root guru of the present Dalai Lama’s tutors and many other Tibetan lamas who brought the Dharma to the West. His teachings, particularly his book “Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand,” are significant in the Gelugpa tradition until this days.He was the root guru of the present Dalai Lama’s tutors, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, and a teacher to many other Gelug lamas who fled Tibet. He had brought the Dharma to the West after 1959. His teachings covered various aspects of the Tibetan Buddhist path, including the seven-point mind training and the stages of the path to enlightenment. Rinpoche’s teachings are so famous that thousands of people would come from far and wide to attend. He was an extraordinary master for the Heruka Body Mandala and the Vajrayogini practice. Wow ……one of the many famous stories been told of how Heruka actually appeared to Pabongka when he visited Cimburi in Tibet and how Heruka image spoke to him. Interesting biography of a great master of all times.

The practice of Sangha in Buddhism involves building and cultivating a supportive community of practitioners who engage in shared spiritual practice, often focusing on mindfulness and concentration. This community provides mutual support, guidance, and encouragement on the path of self-discovery. The Sangha is not just a gathering of people; it’s a collective energy of mindfulness and compassion that benefits all members. It provides a supportive environment for individuals on their spiritual journey, offering guidance, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Sharing experiences and insights within the Sangha can accelerate the learning process.
Thank you Thich Nhat Hanh for sharing and explaining all about the insight of sangha. Great sharing .

Wat Rong Khun better known as the White Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai province, Thailand. The gold symbolizes how people focus on worldly desires and money. The white building represents the idea to make merit and to focus on the mind. It is owned by a succesful Thai businessman who opened it to visitors in 1997. Awesome….This temple stands out through the white colour and use of pieces of glass that sparkle in the sun. The white colour signifies the purity of Buddha while the glass symbolizes Buddha’s wisdom. Located 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai built to honour and pay tribute to sacred Buddhist figures. Over time, temples grew in prominence and is one of the famous temples to visit in Thailand. I have visited years back its simple stunning temple which truly love the design and architecture .

Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattooing practice, involves sacred geometrical and animal designs. Its often accompanied by Pali phrases, and is believed to offer power, protection, charisma, and other benefits to the wearer. Sak Yant tattoos are deeply rooted in Buddhist and spiritual beliefs, with each design and symbol carrying specific meanings and purported powers. Many designs are believed to provide protection against evil spirits, misfortune, and danger. Sak Yant tattoos are traditionally applied by monks or masters using a needle and ink, and the process is often accompanied by chants and blessings. I personally have not seen one yet . Sound interesting.

Jojo Struys is a travel and wellness personality, accredited yoga instructor, speaker and author. She visited Bangsar of Kechara outlet for a feature with Star Property. With her visit hopefully more people will get to know more of our Kechara . She had made a video with and Pastor David Lai all about Buddhist Arts. She openly admitted interested in Buddhist art . Buddhist art pieces have given her home a contemporary edge. Art was important to Buddhist religious life. It was not only part of ritual and worship but also served to transmit religious ideas, and artistic styles between cultures. Do agree with her statement ,…..if you want to change your life, change the way you think, because everything begins with you.”

n their theoretical model, rudeness has this impact on our ability to think because it engenders negative sadness, anger. Researchers have found that common negative behaviours can spread easily and have significant consequences. The best way to avoid rude people is to meet their acts of rudeness with kindness. Exposure to neurotoxins in society is not new. Children today are raised in an environment that is much different from those days. Nowadays they are exposed to behaviours, profane language, hostilities and stress from which we adults, raised a generation ago. Studies have shown that children exposed to serious psychological trauma during childhood are at risk of suffering increased psychiatric disorders. Interesting read.

Revisit this blog again . Reading comments in this blog Rich people have substantial assets and income, providing a sense of security and freedom from financial worries. Owning high-end cars, designer clothing and everything they want with their money. Rich people often have more time for leisure, hobbies, and travel, allowing them to pursue interests and experiences. They may live in large, luxurious homes and have or apartments, often in desirable locations and having personalized services. The fundamental difference in mindset between the rich and the poor is, the rich have understood a very simple principle money makes money. Rich people see money as an opportunity, while poor people see it as something to be earned. Poor people work hard for their money. It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much. The primary difference between rich people and poor people is how they handle their wealth. My thought been rich in this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Found this old post …disturbing. Having a name especially a Bar linked to Buddha to be disrespectful towards Buddhism. After much controversy the owner had it removed. The Buddha Bar located in Sabah by a young owner which opened without much thought had many people complaining. Later was forced to have its controversial name changed to ‘Peacock Garden’ and had apologised for the controversial name. As a devout Buddhist, the name ‘Buddha Bar’ which serves alcohol, is disrespectful to the revered Buddha.

Siberia, considered the heartland of shamanism inhabited by many different ethnic groups, and many of its peoples observe shamanistic. Many of the indigenous communities reclaiming their traditional spiritual and healing practices . Interesting. Siberian shamanism is often called Tengerism, involves various rituals, including drumming, chanting, trance states, and offerings to nature spirits and ancestors. This religious practice has deep roots in Siberia and Central Asia in recent years with roots in the Turkic and Mongolic cultures. Many who have been live in a remote part of Russia, have preserved their shamanic traditions due to their isolation. Many customs of Tengrism are still been practiced where they emphasizes a deep respect for nature and its various spirits, including those of the earth, water, and mountains. They do believe in the continued existence of souls and the importance of honouring their ancestors.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this ancient religion.

Everyone of us has an unforgettable different experience, a different destination and itineraries. The journey to Shar Gaden Monastery back in 2019, making offerings to the sangha , by the Kecharians hold special moments and memories. They were on behalf of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche and Kechara in making an offering to all 650 monks of the monastery. On this fruitful trip the Kecharians had the honour to catch a glimpse of the normally-covered holy statue of Dorje Shugden . Awesome this holy statue of Dorje Shugden was handmade by HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. The team was also granted an audience with H E Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche. Having the opportunity to make offerings to the monks was indeed meritorious. Rejoice to them. Looking at those beautiful pictures paints a thousands words. Thank you Rinpoche and team for this sharing. Merely looking at it is a blessing especially the Holy Statue of Dorje Shugden.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. We can’t let our failures define us. Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. Success is never permanent, and failure is never final. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness .Sometimes just reminding ourselves of the temporality of failure enables us to forge ahead and stay focus looking forward . Failure isn’t something many of us can handle gracefully. And even though we know it’s a common human condition, figuring out how to stay motivated in the face of failure .
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teachings.

Finally HH Dalai Lama said we can practice Dorje Shugden. After all these years of deep frustration felt by the Tibetan people. They who lack religious freedom been denied and been exploited in all sectors of society. More than 60 years the Tibetan leadership has cause the sufferings of those in exile who had propitiate Dorje Shugden. Dalai Lama did reiterated although he recommended not worshipping Dorje Shugden as it is a personal choice and freedom. Interesting read.

Working in a private hospital before ,having witnessed many personal tragedies faced by the living and dying patients. Many of these poor people faced their death with fear, with misery and pain before departing this world. With the images of all these in my mind, on occasion feeling sad and grieve at times when those we have cared .But nonetheless we should recognise certain truths. All of us are going to leave this world at one time and leaving those we love. In the teaching of the Buddha, all of us will pass away eventually as a part in the natural process of birth, old-age and death and that we should always keep in mind the impermanence of life. Along the journey of life, we are reminded of our own inevitable ends in waiting and everything is a blip of transience and impermanent. Be responsible, good and positive for ourselves and towards others. This leads to calmness, happiness and an outlook which contributes to a calm and controlled mind at the time of death. We have to remind ourselves the importance of rebirth and taking time to prepare for their own demise before its too late.To cultivate the good karma, our good actions are an excellent way prepare for our death. Having lead a responsible and compassionate life and have no regrets when death approaches enables us to surrender without a struggle. The life that we all cherish and wish to hold on. We are doomed to the endless cycles of life and death, we should learn and practices Dharma teachings .We are given a chance in life and choice to determine our future, to determine where we will go for rebirth. Spend our time on earth wisely before its too late.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. 8 years ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
