Work has started with the huge tractors on KFR land

Dear friends,

Work of clearing the land at Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) has started. The big tractors and other equipment have been at work since October 3rd, 2012. I went to take a look at the progress so far and it was totally exciting. The land looks bigger and longer after clearing of many undergrowths. I did a land blessing and land deity puja while I was there and also gave a talk. The talk was about people taking trances of various supernatural beings. The supernatural beings include benevolent spirits, devas, mountain gods, land gods, negative entities and superior Dharma protectors. I explained who takes trance, the procedure and what is required and what we should be careful of. I also explain the pitfalls and also why trances happen and to who. I explained about trances within the Tibetan tradition in more detail. I went into somewhat of a detail on the preparation required. As it grew dark we moved inside to continue the talk on our land. We have containers on our land. So we can stay overnight if necessary. I gave this talk on trance because I have been asked many questions on this subject for many years and decided to share some information I have learned from my teachers and observation. I hope this will benefit very much.

Taking trance is nothing new and not just in the east. In the West (Greece) the Delphi Oracle was famous for it’s accurate prophecies of the future. Leaders and famous people like Alexander the Great had consulted the Delphi Oracle regarding his conquests and movements. Famous Shamans, Medicine Men/Woman/Priests of South America, North America, Alaska, Siberia, Mongolia, Malaysia, Borneo, Europe and many in Africa up till today can channel or take trance of supernatural beings to help, bless or assist others in their lives. It is still commonly practiced. Some would call it real, some would call it a case of multiple personality or psychosis. I guess the truth is in the outcome. Some are real and some are psychosis.

Please do watch the video to learn more of trances and remember, the best ‘thing’ to enter you is compassion.

My good luck to everyone and good wishes,

Tsem Rinpoche

State Oracle of Tibet taking full trance to answer the questions of His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

Trance is a state of semi-consciousness in which a person is not self-aware. The person is in a deep state of distraction by some inner turmoil or some outer mental influence. Taking trance is nothing new and not just in the east. Listening the video tells us more about trance. Interesting to know, but we should not get involve in trances as advice. Its better get involve in Dharma practice and have our mind transform.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Interesting video on trances tells us all. Thank you Rinpoche for explaining and sharing this teaching. We should not get involved in seeking trance without understanding it. Those oracles are trained, not one or two years but it takes years to be one. We should use Dharma , practice compassion, caring, kindness and have our mind transform instead and not taking trance.

Dealing with supernatural beings is not for the faint hearted. We would be wise to stick to practices and deities that we are absolutely sure we cannot go wrong or expose us to harm.

Was always fascinated in taking trance topic when i first saw Taoism deities in human body. ( It was 10 years back ), always has a discussion with friends, what is going on.. Why like that, what deities inside human body and etc..

After read about the topic ( Protector ) taking trance in Tibetan Buddhism, explained by Rinpoche, it’s make my self more clear and understand what is going on.

Thank You for sharing Rinpoche. ( Much appreciated )

Thank you, Rinpoche. It is very easy for a person to fake a trance and take advantage of others. Some even consume drugs to get high so as to appear in a trance. These are very dishonest folks. However, there are genuine oracles who go through proper training with a qualified teacher. No one should meddle with this without a deep understanding of Dharma or other spiritual foundations.

This is such a strong and wise teaching. I would believe that many people would be afraid of trances the first time they see one. Like me, when i first saw a trance i have to say i was very shocked and scared. But as i get used to the thought of people taking trance and how it is a good thing, i get more comfortable to the situation. And after reading this teaching, i now know more. Thank you.

Thank you, Rinpoche for a very illuminating teaching.
Trances and channelling are too dicey for lay people to delve into.
We should only rely on the Three Jewels.
We should practice sincerely to clear our obscurations to enable us to have clarity and purpose.
Then, we will not be desperate to seek out mediums.

  17. Sean Wang on Dec 1, 2013 at 9:17 pm

    Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for sharing all this information on trances. It is good to learn that we must not simply dabble in all these subjects without proper preparations as you do not know whether the trance is true or false..

  18. Jim Yeh on Sep 22, 2013 at 10:34 pm

This is a very insightful video on trances that Rinpoche has shared.

I can see the allure of oracles and trances and why people seek them, it could be out of desperation or just pure boredom. Even though Rinpoche possess a deep understanding of oracles and trances, Rinpoche’s advice to us is to not dabble in them, as Buddhism is about freeing our minds.

I really enjoyed this video and Rinpoche’s anecdotes with real life oracles. Rinpoche has also clarified that there are many types of beings who can take trance, some are enlightened and some are not, some have good motivation at first and some do not. These unenlightened beings are just like us.

Very interesting video. Thank you for sharing this with us Rinpoche.

  22. Joy on Dec 26, 2012 at 4:50 am

This is an interesting video teaching that basically explains all our curiosity on mediums, trances and channelling the supernatural. This tradition has been kept so alive up till this day and age. People are always curious and running to mediums taking trances for a quick fix not knowing who and what deity or spirit is really entering the medium and not realising the commitment or promise they sealed to the deity/spirit that could possibly cause them harm if they don’t fulfil after they have gotten their wishes. Also what ever is being predicted could also cause harm especially if the “being” that entered is not an “Enlightened” one hence giving a short term solutions which could result in some other consequences.

That is why we should not go or get so hung up about trances/mediums/fortune tellers etc and if one must, it is best to seek and consult in Dharma Protector oracles like Setrap who is an Enlightened being, who is Amitabha Buddha.

Thank you Rinpoche for explaining and sharing so much info on trances and on how people become oracles and the arduous training process they need to go through is no easy task. It is also very kind and compassionate of the Dharma protectors to actually take trance and come down to our level to benefit us.

Yes it is true we should not focus so much on trances and “super powers” such as these, they are just another method used by Dharma protectors to help us on our Dharma path. The real focus and trance we should take is the 6 paramitas, 8 verses, wheel of sharp weapons and Lamrim… wow if we can take trance of those… we’d be Buddhas!

  23. abby F on Nov 8, 2012 at 5:30 pm

Dear Rinpoche, thank you for the teaching. From this teaching I learnt that there is nothing mystery behind trances. Everything is very logic, and we don’t have to criticize anyone for their belief. Rinpoche teaches us the way to protect ourselves, giving us knowledge to differentiate what is good for us.

One that I remember well is Rinpoche said that it is not who you are or how powerful you are, is who take trance on you. What being take trance on you, this is what matter. And I like which Rinpoche said, we should use Dharma, logic, clarity and Lamrim to solve our problem and this is good for us.

And thank you Rinpoche for sharing your own experience in the monastery and the female healer story. We can’t get to know all these stories by our own. I agree with what Rinpoche said, the thing that we can rely on, is the 3 Jewels. Clarity and logic can help us to see and observe. And compassion is always the best protection 🙂

  24. Pastor Yek Yee on Nov 2, 2012 at 3:52 pm

Rinpoche gave a good and informative teaching about taking trances, from lower deity to Buddha. After I watched it is open my view of taking trance. Since I am a kid I knew many people went to temple requested media to take trance for finding solution of their problems. Before than I not really trust that, now I believed all is real and it will be happen in our daily life very often.

Many people like me are curious how something can go into our body and ordered us to do what they want. It is incredible! According to Rinpoche’s teaching we can take trance with various supernatural beings such as benevolent spirits, devas, mountain gods, land deity. However Rinpoche totally not encouraged all of us engaged invited those beings into our body. It is not be consider for everyone because it quite dangerous.
But for the higher beings, if they taking trance used our body to deliver some very important message to us who needed.

I think this video teaching is very good for us as a session of for us to share with peoples. Because many people have a wrong view about taking trance. So after watched then shared to our friends who interest in this kind of stuffs. And also remind them; don’t allow any being go into our body. Because this may create very dangerous situation for our selves… we must remember that!

  25. wei theng on Oct 29, 2012 at 1:08 am

I grew up in a village with exposure to mediums taking trances in Chinese temples. When I learned Buddhism in the university time, I thought all these trance are not ‘real buddhism practice’.

After learning Vajrayana Buddhism, I get to know there is also real Buddhism practice to take trance.

Thanks Rinpoche’s explanation that I get to understand the differences and see the intensive retreats and practise that need to have as the foundation for taking trance of the high beings which is different from other lower level beings from taking trance.

However, the most important is still to ‘taking trance of compassion, love and forgiveness, and kindness.’ It is more important to study and practice Lamrim, Six Paramitas, and change our mind to be a good person!

  30. James Long on Oct 19, 2012 at 6:04 pm

  31. Paul Yap on Oct 18, 2012 at 10:51 pm

Tibetan Buddhism has this special knowledge and skills, which can invoke and request dharma protectors to enter human body and speak to us. Many questions and problems will be answered and solved, most of time, give direct blessing to the devoted students. The monks who take trance should be highly trained, qualified and hold their vows, and not some layman without any knowledge, and do not understand dharma.

  33. Mei Fong on Oct 18, 2012 at 4:37 pm

I like the part where we write something on a paper and ask the person who went into trance to guess what was written on the paper (respectfully). I find that very direct and easy to test whether is one taking a real trance or just trying to get some attention. But as Rinpoche has advised, no Kecharians should be taking trance or going towards that direction as Dharma is what we should be really learning or doing here in Kechara.
Thanks Rinpoche for explaining in much detail about taking trances and i am sure it will benefit a lot of people who watches the video

  34. Seng Aun on Oct 18, 2012 at 6:43 am

I used to feel doubtful about trance. What it’s for and how it can benefit the people. After watching these videos, I’m quite clear about trance now.

    Thank you, Rinpoche.

  35. Lim (KH JB) on Oct 17, 2012 at 3:00 am

Thanks Rinpoche for sharing such interesting topic in details… This topic is so informative.

We should always keep this quote in heart, ” There are 84000 Buddha teaching to help us transform but not taking trance”

We will be a better person for a better life when we truthly take refuge in 3 Jewels and transform ourself by learning Buddha teaching such as practice the 6 Paramitas (of generosity, ethics, patience, enthusiastic perseverance, concentration and wisdom), practice the 8 Verses of Mind Transformation, study the Lamrim, Wheel of Sharp Weapons etc.

Since we already get the right advises from Living Buddha then what are we waiting for???

  36. Pastor Susan on Oct 15, 2012 at 6:08 pm

It is quite common that people here in Malaysia seek oracles for help. It’s incredible how trusting people can be to seek help and take the advice of these oracles without knowing who these oracles are taking trance of. Rinpoche’s teaching is so clear regarding oracles who take trance of low/high deities and the requirements etc. Please share this link with your friends and family so they are educated on this very important matter.

On the other hand, there are people who wishes to be oracles. The motivation must be pure with no self gain involved. Some take trance to “show” they are special. Rinpoche as always is so compassionate to give a full proof method to achieve this. Be special by developing compassion for others!

  37. gary foo on Oct 15, 2012 at 1:04 am

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for the valuable teachings
I understand better the trances session which I witnessed from the many different faiths
The entourage that clear the ‘paths in the body first’ before the king or queen comes
The tiredness due to such intense energy taking over the human body

Even helpful deities who heal others  I witnessed before a session where rusty nails were taken out from a persons stomach
But most importantly is to have faith and confidence in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, and through pujas and prayers, the Buddhas/Dharma Protectors shall help us overcome our difficulties without the need to consult the medium whom we do not know what exactly are they channeling or trancing

  38. Han on Oct 14, 2012 at 7:24 pm

Very informative and beneficial teaching that I love so much!
After watching this video, I learned that

    1) We should not rely on or admire people that can take trance, there are higher level and lower level of trances.

    2) The best trance is “taking trance” on compassion, kindness, care and love.

    3) Differences between trance and channelling

    4) We should not get involve in taking trance. Do not need to contact other beings to solve our problems, better to rely on dharma and logic to solve our problems, we are here to learn dharma.

Thank you Rinpoche for this great teaching!

  39. Irene Lim on Oct 14, 2012 at 10:24 am

This teaching is most meaningful and logical. Why should we consult to trances we do not know of. We might land ourselves into trouble and problem. Best is to stir away from trances and practise Lama Tsongkhapa’s teaching, be kind and compassionate. Things would fall into its way positively.

We should rely on enlightened protectors namely Setrap, Palden Lhamo and Mahakala instead of consulting lowly beings who are not enlightened.

  40. Chew Mee Yin on Oct 13, 2012 at 11:58 pm

Thank you, Rinpoche, for the teaching [and Pastor Susan for assigning it as our Oct 11 puja class homework :)]. What resonated was Rinpoche’s emphasis on logic, study and practice. The recommended protection practices were helpful and reassuring. Rinpoche’s sharing of how his cyst was removed by a healer who took trance of a benevolent being was interesting. Thank you, Rinponche._/\_

  41. KYC on Oct 13, 2012 at 10:57 pm

I learned a lot about trances, oracles, and practices that one can engage in to protect oneself from spirit harm. It’s good to know about such things but the best practice is Dharma practice, learning the Lamrim and transforming our mind. Then we are naturally protected and do not need to rely on mediums to solve our problems. The best protection is the Three Jewels.

  42. Lim Han Nee on Oct 13, 2012 at 5:20 pm

,Thank you Rinpoche for this very illuminating teaching on Taking Trance.

We should not be involved with mediums who take trance of, or channel beings who we are not sure are genuine higher Enlightened Beings or malevolent lower beings. There is every chance and danger that they are the latter. This is especially more scary when, as Rinpoche has explained, some malevolent beings can spend decades patiently winning over our confidence with accurate and beneficial help and advice and then zoom in on us and trap us in a vicious grip of malevolence and harm thereafter.

Actually when we consult negative lower realm beings , we are party to their accumulating more negative karma, leading to more and more suffering for them.Any samsaric being, with clairvoyance, be it a deity or a spirit,is bound to samsara by their desirous attachment. Hence, they collect more negativity when they continue to endlessly demand(with threats to our safety and well-being)that we make them offerings, over and over again, long after the ‘favor’ has been done for us.

In Tibetan Buddhism, trained oracles, who go through rigorous spiritual training and take trance of compassionate Enlightened Beings(including Dharma Protectors) have a very important and significant role to play directly or indirectly in the spread of Dharma. There are also, but rarely, very benevolent spirits who take trance to heal or perform beneficial work.

However,in general, we should,as lay Buddhists, rely solely on Refuge in the Three Jewels, studying and practicing the Eight Verses of Thought Transformation and the Lamrim, and practicing Compassion. Transformation of the mind, abandoning non-virtuous actions, are our best shield against any form of suffering, especially long-term. If we need protection from harmful spirits, we can do any one of the Buddha Deity/Protector practices that Rinpoche has listed out in this teaching.

After watching this video, the main message is not to dabble into the ‘unknown’ because we may not know what we are getting into. The practice of going to a medium to ask for trances is a common phenomenon in Asia, especially in local temples.

As Rinpoche said, since we know that the Lamrim, the Three Jewels and dharma is better for us, we should transform from learning true teachings to practice, rather than look for external mystic beings for answer as we are not qualify yet to know if they are real or not.

Prevention is better than cure. This teaching really clarifies many of the questions we are commonly asked in the Gompa. Thank you.

  50. nicholas on Oct 12, 2012 at 7:54 pm

This is really a great teaching. We always hear people talking about taking trance and which deity enter them but we have not much of knowledge about it.

After listening to Rinppche’s teaching it really gave an understanding of why people take trance, why people seek for people taking trance and how the medium prepare themselves.

As what Rinpoche mentioned if we are not sure don’t get involve, Less danger and what most important is the true dharma practice such as the 6 paramitas, the 8 verses of thought transformation, the wheel of sharp weapons and the lamrim to become a best person.

  51. Wah Ying on Oct 11, 2012 at 3:35 pm

I heard and witnessed people take trances of certain deities/god when I was a kid. I was puzzled by how people can take trances and doubt about the action – when I see the medium prescribed medicine and ways to solve people’s problems – financial, study, health and etc – I was puzzled, not sure it’s true or not and many questions arise.

Today I listen to Rinpoche’s teaching on take trances and get many of my doubts solved, and get some new knowledge. Rinpoche even talks about the training of oracle/medium, offers good advise to those with “third eyes”.

As usual, Rinpoche’s teaching on trances is good for people of any levels, since it explains in a very clear and logic way. With Rinpoche’s explanation, one will find taking trances is nothing “fascinating” and his advise to take trances in love, kindness and compassion should clear many’s doubts, including mine.

Rinpoche, I like this teaching, thank you very much.

  52. Uncle Eddie on Oct 11, 2012 at 12:39 pm

Upon seeing the clearing of KFR land on Oct.8, Rinpoche commented it was exciting that the land looks much bigger and longer with the undergrowths cleared. Containers have been erected on the KFR land to provide for those who stay overnight if neccessary. After the land talk and inspection, Ripoche gave an explanation on “Taking Trances”, which many found the teachings very intriquing, mystical and exciting, but Rinpoche advised against anyone to dabble on it without proper, closed and qualified supervision. Though this is common in many cultures, we should seriously concentrate on our study of Dharma, practice the 6 paramitas, the Lamrin and the wheel of sharp weapons, and let a “trance” of compassion to enter into us instead! Many thanks to our caring Rinpoche for the good advice always!

  53. Carmen Lin on Oct 11, 2012 at 11:44 am

After watching this teaching of trances, I felt sorry for the unseen beings being used or people make used of the unseen beings for their own dark pleasure. If those trances took place is to help and benefit others, I rejoice for that. However, people should learn and understand so that they would not just lead by the nose, without knowing where the beings came from and just blindly believed it. We should all learn the Dharma, Lamrim, 8 verses of thought transformation and engage in practices to make us a better and more understanding person we can be. By learning we can break free the misconception and misunderstanding of taking trances, and those have learnt should not by any means involve themselves in trances. As mentioned by Rinpoche, the best ‘thing’ to enter us is compassion. Highly appreciate Rinpoche for giving this teaching, and I shall humbly learn more, always remember YOUR kindness and compassion, and always hold YOUR words dear to my heart as I shall never forget whatever YOU’ve taught.
    Thank You Rinpoche 😀

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing such an interesting topic with us. We are not the only form in this world, there are many forms that cannot be seen.

We should not rely on supernatural power to solve our problems, we should learn, understand and gain realisation. Main reason why we should not go for a trance because we do not know who they really are. Lamrim, prayers are safe and reliable because we know the origin of these texts and we see the good results of people who study and practise them.

  56. Sharon Saw on Oct 10, 2012 at 3:23 pm

i love this teaching very much. So many people are intrigued by trances, which are common in many cultures over the passage of time. Rinpoche explains very clearly why we should not dabble in trances especially when we are not qualified.

Instead, we should study Dharma, practice the 6 Paramitas (of generosity, ethics, patience, enthusiastic perseverance, concentration and wisdom), practice the 8 Verses of Mind Transformation (http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/eight-verses-of-thought-transformation.html), study the Lamrim, Wheel of Sharp Weapons (http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/prayers-and-sadhanas/sadhana-prayers.html#sharpWeapons) and become the best person we can be.

And i particularly like this advice: the best “trance” we can take is the trance of compassion, the trance of love and forgiveness and kindness.

Thank you for this teaching, Rinpoche.

    • Paris on Oct 10, 2012 at 7:29 pm

Sharon, I agree with what you’re saying and yes, I think the best part of the teaching is what you have also extracted. Unfortunately, I think way too many people place far too much of an emphasis on the mystical aspect, without understanding that it is relatively “easier” to perform so-called miracles than to develop the qualities of compassion, kindness etc. Yes, the mystical element is helpful at times, for solving problems that most of us perhaps cannot see with the naked eye, but Rinpoche has also explained that many people can get these supposedly mystical “powers”. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a highly attained being with a huge amount of control or kindness or true wisdom to have these “abilities”.

I’ve always maintained that for me, the real miracle of being around Rinpoche is seeing his kindness. There are many people out there who can perform tricks, do magical things like fly in the sky or tell your future. But very, very, very few people who can be so truly kind, so consistently and so determinedly for such a long period of time, every single moment of every single day. For which one of us can say that we can do this? That’s the true miracle!

I do appreciate this teaching tremendously though for cutting right through all the misunderstandings and misconceptions about what it means to really take trance. I think it’s important also for people to realise what it’s about so they’re not conned or worse, harmed in the process of relying on certain trances. Sadly, there are quite a lot of people out there who may be in desperate situations, who will turn to anything for help, but sometimes, the “help” could end up being more harmful in the long run. So understanding real, authentic methods for dealing with such cases is important and extremely necessary.

      Thank you Rinpoche 🙂

PS it was just so awesome sitting up there on the KFR land receiving these teachings! A divine picnic, as it were!

      • DR on Oct 22, 2012 at 12:21 pm

Dear Paris, aren’t we so fortunate to have our Guru with us instead of having to run all over seeking mediums; right in front of us and straight from ‘the horse’s mouth’. And in the cases of some very fortunate ones, it is just a sms away!

  57. lewkwanleng on Oct 10, 2012 at 1:01 pm

Just finished watching this video. It is very informative and clear away a lot of my questions (such as how to make sure a person is not faking trance; how practices a person should undergo to qualify as oracle, etc).

    I think the key messages:

    1. Though trances and beings do exist, a Buddhist should focus on mind transformation by studying Lamrim, Wheel of Sharp Weapon, 8 verses of mind transformation etc instead of focusing on mystical part of trance.

    2. Do not invite beings to take trance unnecessarily and without supervision.

The concept of rebirth has a long association with Buddhism. Rebirth in Buddhism refers to the teaching that the actions of a sentient being lead to a new existence after death, in an endless cycle called saṃsāra. One will begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual depending on the moral quality of the previous life’s actions. What they are reborn as depends on their actions in their previous life rather kamma. As a Buddhist we should believe in rebirth but still many people don’t . Buddha taught us that choices of rebirth make a difference and can shape many lifetimes. Buddhists believe that nothing that exists is permanent and everything will ultimately cease to be. Against the odds two inspiring nuns fought all the way to become ordained, fighting for their rights to practice Buddhism . Interesting read of how they went through , bringing equality for women in Thailand. Buddhism is the predominant religion in Thailand. Officially, only men can become monks and novices in Thailand under a Buddhist order. The country does not recognize female monks or novices. In recent years, more Thai Buddhist women seeking to become full-fledged female monks, have been defying the tradition getting ordained overseas, in Sri Lanka or India. Buddhist women have been fighting for years for equality and social acceptance in Thailand. They just can’t be ordained by Thai monks. Ven. Dhammananda, 68 year old former university lecturer and activist became Thailand’s first Theravadin bhikkhuni after going the odds. Inspiring read biography on Ven. Dhammananda and Ven. Dr. Lee. They had gone through great hardships, discrimination and against the many odds in bringing equality to women in Buddhism in Thailand.

The unseen things are spiritual realities that are eternal and invisible to our physical eye. There are many forces and phenomena that are not visible to the naked eye. There are many things that humans cannot see yet there are some could see. For what is can be seen is only. Things do exist even we can’t see, believing their existence is our choice. Things that we can’t see in the world opens up a curiosity and exploration by some. Whether through scientific inquiry, or spiritual exploration, the pursuit of knowledge about the unseen can lead to profound insights about ourselves and the universe.
Malacca City is the historic capital of the coastal state of Malacca, in Malaysia serving as a link between east and west for over 500 years. Famous for breath-taking sights with rich heritage, ancient dark culture and history with many old centuries buildings with an interesting past and a colourful ghost story. For that reason alone it is worth visiting as is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site owing to its well-preserved historical center. There’s many historical mansions been passed down generation to generations and with many ghostly sighting by the locals and visitors. There’s the reason many unseen beings loitering and attached to these places. Such an interesting and incredibly creepy watching the video in this blog host by Li Kim. Li Kim had done a great work all along with her team to share with readers about our historic Malacca .

Vajrayogini symbolizes the wisdom of all enlightened beings and embodies the impulse of inspiration that drives the Buddhas to attain the perfect enlightenment. Vajrayogini is one of the most effective practices for people today. We can make offerings such as gold or jewel offerings and so on. The offering of gold helps us to collect merits, spiritual attainments, gain a deeper connection to Vajrayogini. It also creates the causes to attain a Buddha’s body.
Make Offerings to Vajrayogini in Kechara Forest Retreat at Bentong is such an meritorious way for us to collect merits. All thanks to our Guru having conceptualised the idea of having a statue of Vajrayogini for everyone . Recitation of Vajrayogini mantra can be a powerful tool for self-transformation, healing and liberation from samsara.

Thank you, Rinpoche for sharing this insightful article. Life is short, and if we enjoy every moment of every day, then we will be happy no matter what happens or what changes along the way. What ever matter to us at the time of death is nothing. In the end, it’s not the years in our life that count it’s what you leave behind that matters. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.Death is the golden key that opens the palace of eternity. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. Learning Dharma and practicing dharma is the our choice that’s matter. Some of the key points to take notes, read, study the Lam Rim and apply it, engage in Sadhana daily and consistently. No one will help us at the moment of death but ourselves. Spiritual practicing is the best choice.

Well the size of Buddha statues in Tibetan Buddhism is important because it represents the Buddha’s immense ability and vast knowledge. Hence the Buddha statues hold the symbol of satisfaction within, peace and happiness. They are a symbol of inspiration for every human being. When we focus on the Buddha statues, it gives us inner peace that our mind, our heart and our soul gets enlightened.
We have are so fortunate seeing and circumambulating where the 9-foot Dorje Shugden statue and with 500 mantra stones engraved with Dorje Shugden’s sacred mantra. As Rinpoche had said before the bigger and more Buddha statues helps in planting seeds of enlightenment in people’s mind-streams. It also help us to generate as much merit and purify as much karma as possible. Merely by seeing all those big statues at Kechara Forest Retreat is a blessing.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

The 4th Tagpu Pemavajra Jampel Tenpai Ngodrub, most commonly known as Tagpu Dorje Chang, was a highly accomplished yogi Highly attained lama who had many authentic visions of the Buddhas and even travel astrally to receive direct teachings from them. His recognised line of incarnations stem all the way back to the 14th Century. He is generally regarded as such amongst Gelug lineage holders. He spent most of his time in a hermitage located above Sera Monastery, gave teachings and transmitted many vital practices and lineages to his foremost student Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Besides receiving the complete instructions of Dorje Shugden’s practice, Tagpu Dorje Chang had many other mystical experiences throughout his lifetime. Interesting read biography of a highly accomplished mahasiddha lama.

n Tibetan culture, it is a popular and customary practice for families to invite monks to perform spiritual ceremonies such as Trusol rituals. The monks have had the opportunity to offer such ceremonies for individuals or their families. Such ceremonies purify the elements of the environment which helps those living or visiting there to experience good health, success and well-being. The sacred ritual of ‘bathing’ the Buddhas and consecration through which negativities, sicknesses and obstacles will be cleared. Where by filling those areas with positive energies and good vibes through this Trusol consecration puja. Water is an essential part of this puja and symbolises the cleansing of all negativities and impurities. Through this puja it also pacifies local deities and other unseen beings in the surrounding areas. We are indeed fortunate that Tsem Rinpoche has taught Kecharians this practice and it has benefited many.

Reading this post had me gain some knowledge of Shifter Werewolves. Any article regarding rare creatures or paranormal articles are of my interest since young. In European folklore, a werewolf is a man who turns into a wolf at night and devours animals, people, or corpses but returns to human form by day. They have the ability to transform from an ordinary human appearance to a partially-lupine form with pointed ears, mutton chops, claws and fangs, and a ridged brow . Wow… werewolf tends to be vicious and unable to control his blood thirst. Their underlying common origin can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European mythology. In many depictions, these bloodthirsty beasts are evil where they kill animals and innocent people. They are humans who transition into wolf-like creatures, after being placed under a curse. In folklore, most werewolves originate from being cursed or bitten by another werewolf. That’s what they do believe. According many enthusiasts, there’s many different type of werewolves such as Alpha wolves, Beta wolves , Deltas, Elders, some survive as loners while others move in packs. How true it is no one knows. I do believe their existing . Many interesting stories related to these wolves in the past history.

Beautiful Dorje Shugden at Malacca. One should pay a visit there, located at a busy tourist place. It was such an auspicious occasion that a grand Puja was held there. Dedicated students and volunteers were there getting the place ready for the grand puja. Well the Grand Dorje Shugden puja was conducted by very own Kechara puja team to commemorate the chapel’s 3rd anniversary. Many people attended the Puja that’s wonderful to receive the powerful Protector Dorje Shugden blessings. More people will make a connection and get to know Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, in the form of a Dharma Protector. May Dorje Shugden’s practice flourish to benefit those tourists and locals.

Venerable Geshe Rabten Rinpoche is a highly realised meditation master known as a debater, scholar, and meditation master, was the first Tibetan Buddhist master to introduce the complete Vinaya-tradition. He had also introduce the study of the five major topics of Buddhism to the West. He became the ‘path breaker’ of the complete and complex teachings of Buddhism in the West. Many masters, who are famous in the West today, were Geshe’s students. enerable Geshe Rabten. Geshe Rabten wrote the beautiful and Manjushri’s prayer called Gangloma and gave a profound explanation. We are so fortunate to learn about this Manjushri’s sacred prayer. May all be blessed by the practice of Lord Manjushri and Geshe Rabten’s explanation.

The begging bowl or alms bowl is one of the simplest but most important objects in the daily lives of Theravada Buddhist monks. The alms bowl still stands as an emblem of how all Buddhas, as numerous as grains of sand in the Ganges, practiced to end their desire. All those who receive the alms bowl should focus their mind to act with self-control and self-respect. Almsgiving is a tradition of Theravada Buddhists, majority in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Laos. In those early days of Buddhism, monks would take their bowls and go out begging for food. As today in Thailand one could see monks woke up before dawn every morning and carried his bowl through the roads or paths wherever he was staying. Local people would place food in the bowl as a donation, through the generosity of lay people. They accept whatever food is offered for them and eat whatever been given, serve as a blessing for the giver.
One bowl has held the food of a thousand families. A solitary monastic travels on his journey of a hundred thousand miles seeking liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Thank you H.E. Tsem Rinpoche for explaining the meaning of begging and gave us more reasons to be vegetarian . Create a awareness among us not killing animals to be one.

Ajahn Siripanyo, the son of billionaire Ananda Krishnan, chose to abandon his inheritance and become a Buddhist monk in pursuit of spirituality. A Thai-Malaysian monk born in London and educated in UK. He was ordained in Thailand and lived there, leaving behind a life of immense wealth and privilege. He did surprised many and his choice was unexpected. Initially as a temporary measure, but somehow later evolved into a permanent way of life. Ven. Ajahn Siripanyo is now the Abbot of hermitage Dtao Dam on the Thai-Burmese border in Saiyok National Park, Thailand.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
