Great Vegetarian restaurant – Anada Bhavan in Singapore!
There is one opposite Mustafa Centre, Serangoon (Little India). Whenever I visit Singapore, I visit Mustafa’s. You can find almost anything inside and open 24 hours. Can you imagine a dept store open 24 hours?? How convenient for people. We do not have anything like that here in Kuala Lumpur.
Then just 15 seconds walk away is ANANDA BHAVAN. A totally fabulous vegetarian restaurant also open 24 hours. The food is fresh, huge variety, quick and DELICIOUS. One of my most favorite restaurants in the world.
Now this same restaurant has opened in Changi international airport in Singapore!!! It is in Terminal 2 right after check in before Immigration. The place is clean, lots of varieties and quick service also. I love the fact that a vegetarian restaurant can go ‘mainstream’ and be at international airports. Changi airport is very smart and can feel the global pulse in which the trend is heading towards. Changi airport management is really modern and progressive.
Thali! Thali! Thali! This is one of my favorites and it’s called Thali. With rice, dahl, chapati, various vegetables, etc…delicious. You can get this at Changi airport branch or the one near mustafa’s.
They have all these posted on their walls…..right where you eat…such a great way to create awareness and kindness to animals….WHAT A FANTASTIC RESTAURANT….I hope it grows and more branches spread all over the world..

Wow ….Changi international airport in Singapore do have vegetarian restaurant too. Which served a variaties of food .Thats wonderful. Go on vegetarian ,live healthy and save more animals .
Thank you for Rinpoche for sharing.
I had been stayed hotel near little India area when I visited Singapore because the hotel near there is in my budget range. I also know Mustafa is a 24hrs operate shopping mall. Many things available here included gold also available here( if i am not mistaken , they have one floor selling gold jewelry).
I seldom eat Indian foods but I will try to look for ANADA BHAVAN when I visit Singapore again. Nice to know that Changi Airport also have this vegetarian shop cater to vegetarian travelers as well as non vegetarian. Eat more green to give more chances to animals to survive.
Thanks Rinpoche always inspire me to be a better person.

Its so cool how this vegetarian restaurant is open for 24hours! I wish they have that in malaysia, it would be so useful to me. This is because i dont have to worry about what time i eat and what i am eating. Because i know that it is 24 hours open and most importantly, it is vegetarian!
I am also happy that this same restaurant has opened up in an airport. This make me happy because then more people would go and see, and eat in this restaurant and they would see that being a vegetarian is good. And then vegetarianism will spread, which is one of the most incredible things that could happen.
Dear Rinpoche,
Mustafa Shoping Center is indeed the one of best of all grocery centers in the whole world you can literary buy anything at anytime
of the day which makes it so cool! The last time i went there there were even selling vegetarian Sausages in their vegetarian section.
What makes it even better is that they have a lot of imported India products which some are even consumed in the Monastery’s as well.
Even better is that of course there is an 24 hour Anada Bhavan restaurant and truth to be told their food there is really good especially their Thali which i have tried once.
Thank you for sharing your experience in Mustafa and Anada Bhavan!!!
Love

I’ve been to this restaurant a few years back when KMP had a booth at Suntec Convention Center. The food here is amazing and it opens till late. I really like the signs they put up around the store especially the comparisons between herbivores, carnivores and humans. Very interesting 😀
Ageed, all lives are precios!Human are not higher than animals.
Human need care and love, animals also have the same need!Human hate suffering, animals hate too. Please love them, not eat them!! Please kind to animals and please be vegetarian!!
During one of my first trips abroad with kechara, I was sent to Singapore, to Mustafa to be precise, and I sat down in Ananda Bhavan and had the very same food! That time, I had yet to be vegetarian, but the food was so good that I didnt even think of ordering any meat! Although I do not usually enjoy Indian food, one of the biggest benefits of Indian food is that it is very easy to be vegetarian, and the cuisine has developed significantly over the years to make delicious, readily made indian food available to the world. Chutney anyone?
The food looks absolutely delicious, I am beginning to salivate. Just the other day, I accidentally ate a piece of chicken in some noodles I have bought from outside.
The texture and taste made me wretch almost to the point of vomitting. The sight of slaughter and suffering of the flesh in my mouth, visualised. No more noodles for me that day.
OMB! I think I been there. The food there tastes super good. Yummy!
Eating vegetarian need not be confined to rich people only. In every race there are also vegetarian diet. May they be Western diet, Indian diet, Chinese diet etc. Sometimes a vegetarian dish can be very cheap and nourishing and affordable. The Indians eat curry cooked with vegetables or Dhal curry with their bread or rice. The Westerners can churn up dishes by making salads or have bread. The Chinese are more lucky. There is a Dharma centre which was established years ago. This centre has extended their activities by opening many eating shops all over Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, thru some kind sponsors who have subsidise the cost. For a good meal of 3 dishes and a rice you pay Rm 3.00 together with a drink of Chinese tea. This helps to feed the poor and encourage vegetarian to everyone.
Dear Rinpoche,
1. near my hse there is a Vegetarian Restaurant that serve 3 vege & rice for RM 2, my wife always go there for our meals becos we try to eat more vege & less meat, alot of ppl are also cutting down their cost
2.this is just my ideas, can we have a chain of very affordable Vegetarian restaurants maybe RM 3 per meal,to encourage more ppl to eat more vege than normal meals, for ppl who wants to spend less,
also we can have counters to sell our books, dvd,KP items eg pendants,Setrap & Tsongkhapa box & ppl to drink tea & listen to dharma music
3. shall we call it Kechara VO Restaurant eg VO stand for Vegetarian Only.More & more ppl will come to know Kechara
Hope our Guru Rinpoche will think about it
Thankyou
Alvin Neo
I came across near Cheras. It is RM2 for any 3 dishes. Fantastic & really affordable. Recently, found another one similar concept & even better.
Dear Mimi,
Thank you for this information. Do tweet and facebook more about these places so ppl are aware and will patronize them more…The more vegetarianism becomes popular, less animals suffer. Tsem Rinpoche
