“The mother cat kept licking the kittens, hoping it would revive them. According to the family that adopted the stray cat, on the morning of the 11th (year unconfirmed) when they heard the cat’s tragic cries, they rushed downstairs to discover this stray cat’s four kittens abused to death, and even placed in front of the mother cat. The kittens’ bodies were covered with bullet holes, with blood all over. One of the kittens had their neck tied with a rope and elongated, their chest cut open, heart exposed, while the other three kittens’ heads were stepped on.

Looking at the pictures tells us more….sad and heart-felt seeing those innocent kittens is shot dead by someone who is so cruel. How can whoever who did it so senseless . What goes around will comes around. The mother cat kept licking the kittens, from the picture ,heart broken seeing all her love ones dead. Could not imagine that situation, sad that one of the kitten had the chest cut open and heart exposed with the neck tied with a rope. The other three kittens were already been shot yet their heads were stepped on. Horrible death those poor kittens, may these kitten have a good rebirth.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article. Oh my Buddha!!!! What on earth are the humans doing to these innocent kittens?!!! Have they no other better things to do than to torture and kill the kittens. This is sickening and they should stop it. In spiritual wise, it is bad karma to have taken the lives of so many kittens. I notice people nowadays are not mindful and use abusive acts when their anger arises. I pity the cat whose kittens were all dead at one shot. May the kittens have a good and swift rebirth. _/\_

This is horrendous. Why are they so inhuman, doing such terrible thing to the kitten? Where has all the love, care and compassion gone to?
Animals are living beings and we should respect their existence. They are not here for human to abuse them.
We adults should create awareness for all and educate our younger generation to respect all living beings.
Humanity has stoop so low until the only sign of superiority one can exhibit is over abusing and killing helpless kittens. Mankind has exhibited cruelty and selfishness since as far as I can tell from recorded history. One has to wonder if cruelty is ingrained in our genetics. Is it nature or nurtured?
Buddhist believes we all have the Buddha nature within. So essentially all mankind has the potential of compassion, even the people who abused and shot those helpless kittens has the Buddha nature in them. Does our actions define who we are or just what we are aware of at a particular point of time? If we all indeed has the Buddha nature within, even Hitler, Stalin, Mao Ze-dong then how we really deal with cruelty. To accept it simply as an impermanent stage of humanity that will pass? Should we impose the harshest judgement on the people who committed these cruel acts? Should we show compassion and forgiveness instead?
On thing Buddhism has taught me is humanity is not black or white. It’s made out of infinite shades of grey or maybe just 84,000 shades of grey.
Dear Rinpoche, why would someone do this to the animals. They are only kittens. For me, I couldn’t even bare to hang the kitten on a rope, because it might kill them. But this guy is too much. Hang a kitten on a rope, cut open its body and stomped to death.
I love animals and i will never hurt one. But this is just sick to the heart! From the bottom of my heart, i hope these people will suffer and when karma bites them in the butt, they will know. They will have the karma to be killed in that way and i hope that karma really gets them.
I feel very very sad for the mother, I really cannot imagine myself watching my love ones lying dead in front of me. The murderer(s) were so cruel! Bullet holes, body cut open, strangled to death, getting their fragile heads stomped… this is way too mich! How could the people do that to the kittens? Can you imagine how heartbroken the mother were? I hope the murderers were caught and sent to jail.
it’s horrible, how can someone do something like that….in my opinion those who did that we can not say them “humans” because only a devil can do these type of craps…..
my all bad wishes are with them who did that…hope your children will also die like they died…after that you will realize the importance of love….
That’s just disgusting and cruel, how could a human being do that to weaker living things!!!!
i have 5 cats at home. sometimes they are as annoying as human, or maybe worse. They peed and poo at random place with makes me do some extra job at home. but that doesn’t make me hate them. i can’t imagine if any of my cat is treated that way.
It is just really sad that people would do these kind of things to animals. They are lives as well. I do not understand how could some people just bring themselves to abuse these animals while they cry in front of them.
We should really educate the younger generation well so that they do not do these kind of things to animals.
This is really sad to see. Everyday, people and animals are hurt and killed in so many ways that it is unbearable to watch or see. I wish I can be ignorant to these cruelty but I can’t because it is not right. Instead we should pray for those who caused it and those suffering it, to have better lives in the future and not go through the same situation again. I do my part by not hurting anyone in all lives.
this is absolutely horrible. this mother’s kittens were taken away from her and left her to cry in sadness all alone. this is horrible. if i could i would make it the highest law to ban animal cruelty.
OMB! Poor little kittens. Sometimes we should put ourselves into someone’s shoe and think for others. The people who abused the little kittens were so sick. How will they feel if they were their children? I feel so bad for the poor mother. She gave birth to 4 kittens and 4 of them died. I hope that the kittens have taken their good rebirths. Poor little kittens! Why do people kill animals for fun? Ask yourself what is so fun about taking animals life. Imagine that they are your family members and you watch people slaughter your family and you can do nothing to help them. THINK ABOUT IT
Real sad to see this story. How can human beings be so cruel towards those who are defenceless?
Just reading the paragraph makes me feel cold. I cannot comprehend how ‘psycho’ are these people who did these to both the mother cat and the kittens.
Cannot really imagine how painful it must be for the mother cat to see her children lying right in front of her, all died.
Very serious karma these people have created.
This is making me sad and feel pain. if I meet with the perpetrator, I am really going to do the same thing to him as what he did to the kitten. I can not forgive those who abuse animals, especially dogs. although only look through the pictures, I really could feel the pain. and then my tears are falling.
I shouldn’t have watched this. This makes my heart hurt. Sometimes I cry because of all the suffering in this world; people hurting other people, pollution, corruption, greed. But at least most people have a chance for escape or change while animals don’t have this chance. I cry because of the millions of animals that die yearly in mass-industry, in furindustry and testing labs. The look of panic and sadness on the face of this poor mother cat; how can people say animals have no feeling? Knowing how cruel people can act towards animals makes me feel depressed and hopeless. Sometimes I think it’s the best that a virus kills all humans so at least animals and nature can restore from the damage done by us. I know there are good people but we are with so few compared to the ignorant mass.
Reading and watching this pains every part of my soul but nothing compares to the pain and cries of this mother watching her babies died in a horrible state.
Many Jurisdictions around the World have enacted statutes which forbid cruelty to animals. In Japan, the Welfare and Management of animals Act (amended 2005) stipulates that “no person shall kill, injure or inflict cruelty to animals without due course”, any infringment to this act if proven guilty will carry a fine of up to one million yen or one year imprisonment with labour. This act amongst the others, seems to contain some stringency and seriousness to discourage any of the unwanted abuses and unwarranted killings of animals such as those potrayed in the Blog. From medical views, active cruelty implies malices intent to cause harm to animals; such acts of animal cruelty may also have intrinsic links to battered women and children in some families. Animal abuses are sometimes used as a formof intimidation in domestic disputes and violence – one of the known warning signs of certain psychopathalogies as extracted from the Medical Journal. It has also been found that children who are cruel to animals often witnessed or being victims of abuses themselves, but forced to remain silent sufferers!!
All mothers will be sad and heart break to see their children suffer now and future (the cat and the murderer)

Feel sad when i read this!
We always say that we love & Like this & that. We dont like people to control our life . But why those people abuse those small animal ? Have they think that they also have the right to live in this world!

OMG, I feel so sad and I feel like crying after reading this. It is a very saddening thing. The kittens did not do anything, but got killed like this. No animal should be treated like this, but loved and cared. But it is a very good awareness to remind everybody tht many animals are suffering every second. So, we should put in the teachings of compassion dear Rinpoche has teached us and stop animal abuse.
I have three cats myself its really awful how anyone can do this to animals. We must educate the next generation about the need to respect the beings who share the space as we do.
This reminds me of a teaching that rinpoche said and that is, we should also have compassion for the deluded person who did this horrible act. As this person will surely have to experience the same type action he dished out to the kittens.
I feel very sad for the cat. But I am more terrified of karma, as it is clearly shown here that whatever we did in our past, no matter how many rebirths that we have taken within the six realms and no matter in which realms that we are reborn into, those bad things that we did would haunt us back one day should we not purify those bad karmas. It is a matter of time, and it is worst should we experience the bad karmas when we are deprived of dharma guidance and teachings, for the counter measures upon such situation would only dwell us further in samsara.
May we respect, cherish and protect the three jewels at all times and may we work hard to purify our bad karma and diligently hold on to our vows and ethics to create causes for us to liberate ourselves from endless sufferings.
This is sickening! I was wondering where comes the courage to abuse a living being till its death? The picture really saddened me. I can see the deep sorrow in the mother cat’s eyes..Imagine your newly born babies were killed not by accident.
Two weeks ago, there was a pregnant cat come from nowhere sneaked into my house and gave birth to 5 kittens. I was so shocked when i saw the mother cat lying in front of my room’s door early in the morning, I was so nervous because i have never encountered such thing before. But later when i was sort of calmed down, i immediately brought them the vet. I was glad luckily they are fine and some kind soul had adopted them home.
This picture is very sad… It place me in tears. The person who did this to them must be mentally ill or have no love at all for living animal… Ahyo… this is so bad…
Who so cruel do this kind of thing???? Why you kill the kittens…why, why, why??? I don’t understand, the murder is so cruel and cool…it is broken my heart!

I believe that everybody has a choice to feel, just as this mother cat chooses to pain over the loss of her babies.
This photo is heartbreaking. Why is it that humans are such cowards? Humans are clever at sucking up to those who look like they have a lot of power, a lot of money, a lot of earthly wealth, but they forget the key and essential things; It is not how you treat those above you, but how you treat those who look less worthy that shows who you truly are.
Thank you for reminding us of people who are capable of these heinous crimes. Thank you for reminding us that we have the power in us to choose to be different, caring, compassionate towards everyone, regardless of the amount of legs. Thank you for reminding us that we can do many useful things in this life that we have, such as showing compassion and standing up for what we believe in.

I am a dog lover and have a shih tzu who has been with me for coming to 8 years. I will not take cats as pets as i love dogs more and for other reasons, but reading this post really pains my heart, even more painful when i read how these kittens are abused. Humans can be so inhuman.
If possible, I would like to know from dear Tsem Tulku Rinpochee how best i can take good care of my pet dog for this life and her many future lives. The only thing that i do, beside feeding her with the good food and taking good care of her well being, is to chant “Om MaNi Padme Hung” on her foods everytime before I feed her, because I read from somewhere that it is good for her.
Dear Tsem Tulku Rinpochee, can you kindly share with us and especially those who love animals, how best we can take good care of them, for this life and their future lives?
And yes, when i do my prayer in my room, she is always near to me, although most of the timing is sleeping, but i am sure that she hears what i read. Is this good for her as well?
