How brutal

How can some people be so brutal? What do they get out of this brutality and violence. You must see what happened  to Tara. Remember to never harm animals in anyway. They cannot defend themselves against us and we get nothing from harming them.

Saving Tara the dog

Tara has been living on the streets 30 days on the streets of India with two open fractures!!. WE ARE GOING TO SAVE HER!

by Viktor Larkhill

untitled

It´s been a week now since I first saw this image. Standing on her two hind legs, a dog is given some food by some kids in India. Both her front legs are broken, open fractures. Her bones are sticking out of the bandages trying in vain to hold her legs together.

Tara, was brutally attacked by a thug with a steel bar, about a month ago and left crying for help on the streets of Patiala, Punjab, India.

untitled2

Anyone would be overwhelmed by shock and emotion when imagining her pain. Despite their best efforts infection has spread through the tissue and bone. I knew that, despite the incredible efforts of her carers, the Guardians of the Voiceless, Tara would be condemned to a double frontal amputation and a life on the streets crawling on her chest as a handicapped dog.

untitled3

I have been following their work for months now, armed with barely more than the purity of their spirits they are always there, doing life saving treatments to absolutely destitute animals. It´s awe inspiring. This amazing group of people embodies the spirit of Let´s Adopt! and Tara was more than they could handle.

We had to save her.

untitled4

I asked our friends in Delhi to speak to them and tell them we would help her with Tara. Their response was incredible… total joy!. They knew Tara had absolutely no chance on the streets and they welcomed our help.

Tara was immediately driven to Delhi and we started her evacuation procedures.

untitled5

The plan is as daring as it gets. I will be personally flying to India on Wednesday morning. I will arrive to New Delhi at midnight. From the airport I will go where Tara is being cared for, clean and prepare her injured legs for the journey and fly back that same evening.  Literally, in and out.

24 hours in India to save Tara.

Please watch this video… it was taken at a Veterinarian in New Delhi and it sadly shows the reality of veterinary care in India, that is, a an amazing amount of love but very basic means and lack of proper health protocols. I cringe when I think of a veterinarian doing Tara´s cures without the use of simple gloves, but that is precisely what Guardians of the Voiceless and ourselves are fighting against. And that´s why Tara must leave India.

Friday 6 of June…

This has been the journey of a lifetime.. around the world in 36 hours to save a street dog.

In India dogs like Tara are called DESI dogs, PARIAH dogs… to us she is not a Pariah, she is Tara, and her life is priceless..

Please watch this video… join me and Tara and our journey until now.

Or view the video on the server at:
https://video.tsemtulku.com/videos/Taras-incredible-rescue.mp4

I went on this trip knowing Tara and I were not alone. We both knew you were behind us.

It´s to you that Tara owes her life. To fly around the world for 24 hours to rescue a dog with two open fractures? Who does this? We do… Because this is who we are.

untitled7

Monday 9 June..

Tara has been operated.  Her bones were in a terrible condition, very infected. We had to cut small sections in order to ensure proper healing. Everything has gone well and we are very confident she will run again. HOWEVER, the next few weeks are going to be critical. We will be monitoring those legs looking for infection and possible vascularity issues.

untitled8

Please join me in this around the clock effort to save the life of this incredible dog.

Join us, help us save Tara.

Many thanks!

Viktor

P.S. PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS MISSION BY SHARING THIS POST ON FACEBOOK

P.S. After Tara has been rescued and her fractures have been fixed she is going to need an extraordinary family that wants to provide her a forever home. PLEASE, if you are the family Tara never had please write to me on viktor@myletsadopt.com

Heart felt seeing this poor dog Tara with two open wounds. Sad to see such a painful open and the dog had been suffering all this while. This poor dog has been living on the streets 30 days on the streets of India in such condition. It seem Tara was brutally attacked by a thug with a steel bar. Could imagine the pain Tara have to endure for the past long days , crying in pain. Tara was then only feed by some kids on the streets of Patiala, Punjab, India.
Inspiring Victor and a group of people go all the way to help Tara. Flying across the world for just to rescue a dog with two open fractures, had it operated then. Tara deserved to be rescued , as Tara is just like one of us human who needs care and love. Kudos to those who had put in so much effort to help Tara.
Thank you Rinpoche for this inspiring sharing.

It is very heart wrenching looking at the pictures, why people would want to harm innocent animals and create so much pain to them. Animals deserve to live freely like all of us. Tara is lucky to have been rescued by the kind hearted NGOs and later sent to oversea. The authority should impose hefty punishment to those who abuse animals. This will hopefully prevent them from treating animals badly.

Look at the poor baby chasing after the mother. Why do we do that to them? It’s time to seriously think about our choices in life and how they affect others. Be kind. Don’t break up families.

Heartfelt sadness looking at those pictures of the poor Tara having all the painful injuries. Why Tara to suffer so much, was brutally attacked by a thug, she was left in the streets for a month with opened wound.Only later she was rescued and her fractures been repaired by one kind sole Victor. One inspiring man who took the trouble all the way flying 36 hours to save Tara who deserve love and care like any other sentient beings.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful article and reminding us to care, kind, loving and compassion to all sentient beings. As there is many more homeless and abandoned dogs that needed our help.
(Love is being kind to all beings)….said by Rinpoche.

Thank you for the team that saved Tara. It is hard to believe that anyone would impose such horrible harm on such a lovely dog. It is good to see that Tara now is healthy and living in Rinpoche’s blessed land, Kechara Forest Retreat. Thank you Rinpoche for providing a safe place for all those poor animals in KEchara Forest Retreat.

  10. Beatrix Ooi on Feb 6, 2016 at 3:53 am

Poor little Tara, she is such a sweetheart but the amount of pain she had to endure is just too much, even normal people like me definitely will not be able to make it through. India is a big country and sometimes in poverty places, their animals are very skinny and in most of the cases, badly injured due to the busy traffics on the road.

I am so glad to know that she was rescued and treated with correct treatments and physical support from fellow humans. This is a very inspiring article to read.

  11. Vinnie Tan on Oct 13, 2014 at 8:49 pm

It is just so horrible that people would be abusing animals like this. Not only it is cruel, but it is also saddening that the animals in India are not able to get proper medical treatment, suffering in such a manner. I rejoice that Tara is being helped, but many other dogs or other animals are not be able to receive that care and love. Hopefully, medical facilities in developing countries can improve in order to save more animals and not have them suffer in this manner.

I just cannot understand why would people want to harm animals that have no protection at all. I can understand if they would be scared of them, but even with fear that is no excuse to be abusing them.

No one should be abusing any animals. Just imagine us being in their situation where we are being physically abused, then left to die.

I pray that the authority in India would take legal actions to people who abuse animals or even human beings. It is not ethical to be even doing such things. I strongly believe that we should always show love to others. Even if that person is our enemy, we have to show our compassionate heart and try our best to love them only looking at the positive side of theirs.

  12. KYC on Sep 6, 2014 at 9:47 am

Cases like Tara are really tragic. It happens everywhere in the world. In this case, it is in India. From the pictures, we see some Indian boys taking care of Tara as best as they can and a vet cleaning Tara’s wounds, apparently also in India. But do we see the writer in India taking care of Tara? No. We only have a photo of him at the airport. Which airport? Where is he from? There is a video which cannot be shown in our country. Why? I think I need more information before I offer my help.

  13. Wan Wai Meng on Aug 21, 2014 at 10:10 pm

Dogs can really smile their warmest smile. I had a dog I rescued from a broken leg before, and he was patient through out his ordeal and the smile you get once he recovered and was out of pain was priceless. Kudos to the great people who rescued TARA.

I feel very sad when seeing poor Tara suffered so much of pain. Luckily a kind person treated her and she has recovered. The world is still full of love and caring!

  16. Julien Roth on Jul 14, 2014 at 1:52 am

Let me just start off with how amazing Victor is. I am so happy that there still are people like that in this world. And that there still are people that care about animals so much. I also cannot believe that people can be this brutal. How does one just beat a dog so badly and leave it there to die. Shame on them, this makes me truly sad. But thank god for people like Victor.

Victor is amazing. He is my idol. I find it so amazing how he would travel around the world to save this one dog which he had read about on the internet. He put in so much time and effort for on dog. And i admire this. I wish i had the same about of compassion inside of me as he does. I would have never been able to travel all around the world to do this.

I also think that Tara is truly a special dog. She did not deserve to be treated that way, no animals deserves that. People need to come to their senses that they need to stop doing this to animals and that this is wrong. How can you just leave a dog to die after beating it so brutally? i don’t understand. If i had seen this happen in front of my face, i would react furiously and it would not be a very good situation. I also hope that Tara is well taken care of and that after her surgeries, her wounds are now okay. And i want her to have a good home with a good family to take care of her, she deserves that. And i am sure she will get it.

After watching all the videos i realise that some people really do care about animals. Once watching the videos about treating the dog and rescuing it, i felt so happy. And i now have learnt that i must be good to animals and treat them well. The positive videos have just made my day and has made up for the fact that there are people in this world who treat animals like this. I will always know that people treat animals like this, but at the same time i know that there are also people who help animals. And this makes me, and i am sure Rinpoche, very very happy.

I am very happy that Rinpoche has found this article about Tara by Victor and shared it on his blog. This story about how one man can make a difference to the life of a dog is amazing. And i have learnt a lot from it. I hope that many people feel the same. Rinpoche should share more things like this on the blog as it spreads awareness about animal cruelty, and hopefully some day animal cruelty will exist no more. Thank you Rinpoche.

  17. Lucas Roth on Jul 7, 2014 at 12:48 am

It is extremely sad to think that some people just go by this dog and don’t have a second look, on the streets. There are only a few good, caring people out there. This is very brutal indeed and like Rinpoche said, they cannot defend themselves against us and we do not earn anything when we harm them. We need to care for these animals, they are on this planet with us.

But there are people out there… like these people and I think it is extremely amazing how these people are so selfless and they just did all this work flying everywhere for this dog’s well being. Amazing people and they do it even though this dog cannot say thank you or that they are so kind, they do it because they care and it is the right thing to do.

Animals are lives like us and I think that they deserve amazing lives. Tara is getting better and that makes me extremely happy, and I do love animals and have a tremendous respect for them. We should care for animals and help them because not everything is about us, and they live with us so we should care about them. Thank you to the people that helped this poor poor dog, you are amazing.

  18. Low KHJB on Jun 28, 2014 at 7:38 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing. It is great to know that there are those who really cares for those poor animals that are weak and helpless. They are not only sharing empathy but go all the way without even thinking of the expenses of trouble to save a life.A true act of compassion of the highest form.
May mr Viktor and his team who share his enthusiasm be blessed for their compassionate effort to save Tara.We certainly hope poor Tara could live an independent life again. But this time with the knowledge that not all human are bad and may Tara find a good master this time around…..

  19. May Ong on Jun 23, 2014 at 5:00 pm

Even to those who don’t like pets or animals, don’t hurt them. If we accidentally hit them, just pick them up and send it to the vet. That is the humane thing to do.

  20. Beatrix Ooi on Jun 23, 2014 at 1:46 am

Poor Tara, it must have hurt a lot! How could someone do this to a helpless being? I really do not understand which part of Tara disturbed that person so much that he had to beat her! She’s just a dog, he couldn’t even let this poor dog go. I hope that Tara recovers fast.

  21. Edward Ooi on Jun 23, 2014 at 12:50 am

I don’t understand why would anyone do that to an animal. Why beat her up? Just because she messed up the house without having any bad intentions? Or you had a bad day and you happen just to see an innocent dog and you just decided to unleash your anger on that dog? Whatever your reason, you should not harm an animal even though it did something worng.

  22. PB on Jun 22, 2014 at 11:01 pm

I was one of the culprits who did not take care of my dogs properly. I abandoned my dogs when I shifted home many years ago while I was young. They were homeless and I hoped my dogs were not cruelly treated, and always had food and shelters. I truly regret on what I had done.

  23. Lucas Roth on Jun 22, 2014 at 9:31 pm

That is so horrible, there are so many animals injured on the streets and i am happy that people are taking up their time to help this poor animal. Thank you for sharing Rinpoche

The video and thr article brought tears to my eyes… it is unbearing to see a poor dog on the streets with open fractures unable to do anything. Our society need no brutal violence towards animals and we need more of people willing to help animals in need.

I reverently salute viktor Larkhill, who manifested the true and pure characteristic of a bodhisattva. It is said, “He who long to overcome the abundant miseries and sufferings of a mundane being, receives immesurable merits.” Viktor has proven himself a well-intentioned person who not only thinks, but does what he thinks by eliminating all pains, hardships and torturous sufferings of Tara, an animal being. He certainly will attract enormous deep gratitude from all who have seen and read the compassionate actions taken by him in this blog. I respectfully pay homage to him whose precious heart and mind have arisen, otherwise, who can have such an Altruism!!! Om Mani Padme Hung.

  27. pavara on Jun 19, 2014 at 10:42 pm

Oh my god!! Those thugs just don’t have brains at all!! Animals have feelings. If you beet them it hurts you play with them it makes them happy. And just imagine getting hit with steel bars… Who would like getting hit with steel bars. That poor little dog is just steps away from death. I really hope and pray that he will still be able to walk. I really don’t understand why sometimes people can do really bad things. Don’t they know how much it hurts? May that person who beaten up the dog pay for what he has done. May the dog have a swift recovery and forever live without pain.

  28. So Kin Hoe (Ipoh) on Jun 19, 2014 at 10:14 pm

I salute Viktor from the depths of my heart! May the one who has hurt or cause the sufferings of Tara will repent and saves more animals in the current and future lifetimes. Tara is suffering from pain but she cannot let us know through human language. Om Mani Padme Hung.

  29. sarahyap on Jun 19, 2014 at 2:37 pm

oh my… such pure act of compassion and selfless dedication to help this poor dog, the rescuer is truly amazing.

There are many dogs out there that are abused by people, and the sad thing is, these cruel, heartless people that would beat a dog to the point of death is not reprimanded by the law… instead they are allowed to walk free… these cruel people are walking among us! May psychologists have studied that harmful people always begin with abusing animals… the world should have stricter rules and laws concerning animal welfare.

Not only dogs are abused… but some people would carelessly drive and hit a dog, and just leave it to die on the street! I have seen this once, a cruel person just hits the dog and drives off, not being bothered to see if the dog is still alive or not… unfortunately when the dog was brought to the vet, the vet was forced to put it down because of the excruciating pain it’s suffering and having being paralyzed on all 4 legs. It’s horrible…

People that abuse animals… people that hit and run… people that abandon their pets… they all fall into one similar category, they’re not good people, period. I hope whoever reads this blog post, and if they have committed such despicable acts previously, would regret and never repeat it again.

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for sharing this article to inform us that there are still many helpless, defenceless and injured animals in the streets of the World.

The pain it must have felt when the bones were broken, the pain it must have felt when the flesh was open, and the pain it must have felt when it tried walking around…how much it had to endure to be roaming the streets for food and survival.

I cannot imagine…but its will to survive and live on is strong. Such big will power for such small dog…

I am glad organisations like Let’s Adopt are around to help these poor animals.

    Thank you.

curelty towards animals are very prevalent in our society espicially here in Malaysia . Just a few weeks back there was an incident where Street DOG’s were were killed by battering with iron rods ,this was by a Municipial officer (Dog Cather). Someone manage to record the incident and it was really Heart wrentching and painful to see and hear the poor being being killed . It is really sad to see such things happening in our country , sometimes in the name of religion people kill these dogs which declares animals such as dogs dirty . Many lack the empathy and compassion towards animals and some even openly declare saying that “GOD” created man the highest amongst creatures and that animals are ment to serve the need of Man and that they do not have souls or emotions to know right or wrong , so what is the wrong of killing them to be consumed. Now this is how many people think which results in how many animals are really badly treated . I am very much sad to read this and I PRAY FOR TARA FOR HER HEALING AND MAY SHE BE BLESSED BY THE THREE JEWELS .
Namo tassa bhagavato arahato samma samBuddhassa, May the blessings of the Blessed One, the Exalted One, the fully Enlightened One be upon all sentient beings … N

I really feel for Tara for having such terrible experience before she met Viktor. But how many lucky dogs are there like Tara who would encounter kind souls like Viktor who saves life? The thug just went off conveniently after hurting Tara and i guess this happens quite often as people tend to have less care and responsibility towards animals. Little do they know animals have the equal right to live, just like how we, the human beings strive for a better living. Rinpoche always imparts the values of compassion to all beings and Rinpoche has been practicing this whenever He goes : https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/kechara-soup-kitchen-ksk/46417.html

Many years ago I lost a dog due to human cruelty. Einstein, a petite Chinese Crested male dog no bigger than a laptop which “protected” the front yard of my then home, was apparently barking too much for the thief who was trying to steal my car parked on the roadside. For that, it looks like this extremely cruel thief gave Einstein a huge kick to silence him. I found Einstein dead the next morning with evidence of terrible internal injury and my car window and ignition key mechanism all broken. It is just so sad when humans bully the helpless. And it is so great that others help the helpless.

Very sad when look at this dog who suffer so much of pain and has to go through so much the person who do this should be put to jail that is so inhuman! May the dog get well soon may three jewels bless Tara . Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

  35. Joy on Jun 18, 2014 at 6:08 am

The Indian kids and Viktor are really kind souls, they are like Boddhisattvas on earth helping those who cannot cry out for help! We need more people like them. Hopefully one day Kechara Animal Sanctuary can manifest to contribute to the saving of such lives. And we can all create this cause by first taking on the vegetarian vows https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/animals-vegetarianism/i-am-scared-and-dont-want-to-die.html

Thank goodness for people like them otherwise this poor doggy Tara will surely not survive. And to see her so trusting of humans and still so loving goes to show that animals are intelligent and can feel. It also shows that dogs are so forgiving, more so than humans.

I hope those thugs who did this will be arrested. To me they are not humans and have lost their sense of humanity. They will face their own karma for doing this.

I really want to cry when I saw Tara broken legs, can you imagine how painful she is? I don’t understand why someone can cause other being suffer so much? I also can think about their motivation behind!!?? Tara just a dog, who is harmless, why do such cruel towards a poor doggie? Why? I don’t understand!!I also cannot get the message the person who hurt Tara tried to send to the world…???!!!

My personal opinion is the person who hurt this poor doggie, properly is an angersome and have the habituate to blame others. I guessed he or she tried to release his or her emotion towards which he or she cannot get out from themselves.

Honestly, the people who do this kind of behavior towards a harmless being, he or she consider a murder!

Every being have their right to live. Tara also a precious being in this universe, so we must respect her even though she is a doggie.

I really respect Viktor’s kindness, he really practice even though he is a Buddhist. Cannot you believe it, a man flied over from a country to other country just because he want to rescue a dog?

If you see how Viktor tried to help Tara, please pay some your sympathy and never hurt animal again. If you don’t want to help them but don’t harm please.

Such inhumane and barbaric actions to be done to a dog, this is so sad. I hope that poor Tara will recover.

  38. Jutika Lam on Jun 17, 2014 at 10:10 pm

    Dear Rinpoche

I really can’t get in to my head that there would be such irresponsible people in this world that would want to brutely abuse a harmless and innocent dog until such a extent that Tara’s two front leg’s bones are exposed and infected.

It is lucky for Tara that apart from the thug that abused her there are also people who are willing to literately travel across the world just to lend a hand and help her.

Hopefully the irresponsible thug will be caught and charged appropriately and that animal abuse will soon become a thing of the past.

Thank you for sharing this heart aching but yet heartwarming post.

    Love

The person who did this to the small animal only show he is extremely helpless, disturbed, and very weak. Strong and confidence people will love, protect and help the weaker and those who are defenseless.

Dharma taught us to be good human and help those who are in need. May the person who did this to Tara will soon realized his wrong doing and stop further creating bad karma!

Poor Tara, it will be eyes wet by everyone while watching this article and video…

The barbaric actions towards the undefended animals is so terrible, may Holy Dharma spread to ten directions hence more and more peoples may become a better person so the brutal matter can be lesser and lesser…

Wat Rong Khun better known as the White Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai province, Thailand. The gold symbolizes how people focus on worldly desires and money. The white building represents the idea to make merit and to focus on the mind. It is owned by a succesful Thai businessman who opened it to visitors in 1997. Awesome….This temple stands out through the white colour and use of pieces of glass that sparkle in the sun. The white colour signifies the purity of Buddha while the glass symbolizes Buddha’s wisdom. Located 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai built to honour and pay tribute to sacred Buddhist figures. Over time, temples grew in prominence and is one of the famous temples to visit in Thailand. I have visited years back its simple stunning temple which truly love the design and architecture .

Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattooing practice, involves sacred geometrical and animal designs. Its often accompanied by Pali phrases, and is believed to offer power, protection, charisma, and other benefits to the wearer. Sak Yant tattoos are deeply rooted in Buddhist and spiritual beliefs, with each design and symbol carrying specific meanings and purported powers. Many designs are believed to provide protection against evil spirits, misfortune, and danger. Sak Yant tattoos are traditionally applied by monks or masters using a needle and ink, and the process is often accompanied by chants and blessings. I personally have not seen one yet . Sound interesting.

Jojo Struys is a travel and wellness personality, accredited yoga instructor, speaker and author. She visited Bangsar of Kechara outlet for a feature with Star Property. With her visit hopefully more people will get to know more of our Kechara . She had made a video with and Pastor David Lai all about Buddhist Arts. She openly admitted interested in Buddhist art . Buddhist art pieces have given her home a contemporary edge. Art was important to Buddhist religious life. It was not only part of ritual and worship but also served to transmit religious ideas, and artistic styles between cultures. Do agree with her statement ,…..if you want to change your life, change the way you think, because everything begins with you.”

n their theoretical model, rudeness has this impact on our ability to think because it engenders negative sadness, anger. Researchers have found that common negative behaviours can spread easily and have significant consequences. The best way to avoid rude people is to meet their acts of rudeness with kindness. Exposure to neurotoxins in society is not new. Children today are raised in an environment that is much different from those days. Nowadays they are exposed to behaviours, profane language, hostilities and stress from which we adults, raised a generation ago. Studies have shown that children exposed to serious psychological trauma during childhood are at risk of suffering increased psychiatric disorders. Interesting read.

Revisit this blog again . Reading comments in this blog Rich people have substantial assets and income, providing a sense of security and freedom from financial worries. Owning high-end cars, designer clothing and everything they want with their money. Rich people often have more time for leisure, hobbies, and travel, allowing them to pursue interests and experiences. They may live in large, luxurious homes and have or apartments, often in desirable locations and having personalized services. The fundamental difference in mindset between the rich and the poor is, the rich have understood a very simple principle money makes money. Rich people see money as an opportunity, while poor people see it as something to be earned. Poor people work hard for their money. It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much. The primary difference between rich people and poor people is how they handle their wealth. My thought been rich in this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.

Found this old post …disturbing. Having a name especially a Bar linked to Buddha to be disrespectful towards Buddhism. After much controversy the owner had it removed. The Buddha Bar located in Sabah by a young owner which opened without much thought had many people complaining. Later was forced to have its controversial name changed to ‘Peacock Garden’ and had apologised for the controversial name. As a devout Buddhist, the name ‘Buddha Bar’ which serves alcohol, is disrespectful to the revered Buddha.

Siberia, considered the heartland of shamanism inhabited by many different ethnic groups, and many of its peoples observe shamanistic. Many of the indigenous communities reclaiming their traditional spiritual and healing practices . Interesting. Siberian shamanism is often called Tengerism, involves various rituals, including drumming, chanting, trance states, and offerings to nature spirits and ancestors. This religious practice has deep roots in Siberia and Central Asia in recent years with roots in the Turkic and Mongolic cultures. Many who have been live in a remote part of Russia, have preserved their shamanic traditions due to their isolation. Many customs of Tengrism are still been practiced where they emphasizes a deep respect for nature and its various spirits, including those of the earth, water, and mountains. They do believe in the continued existence of souls and the importance of honouring their ancestors.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this ancient religion.

Everyone of us has an unforgettable different experience, a different destination and itineraries. The journey to Shar Gaden Monastery back in 2019, making offerings to the sangha , by the Kecharians hold special moments and memories. They were on behalf of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche and Kechara in making an offering to all 650 monks of the monastery. On this fruitful trip the Kecharians had the honour to catch a glimpse of the normally-covered holy statue of Dorje Shugden . Awesome this holy statue of Dorje Shugden was handmade by HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. The team was also granted an audience with H E Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche. Having the opportunity to make offerings to the monks was indeed meritorious. Rejoice to them. Looking at those beautiful pictures paints a thousands words. Thank you Rinpoche and team for this sharing. Merely looking at it is a blessing especially the Holy Statue of Dorje Shugden.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. We can’t let our failures define us. Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. Success is never permanent, and failure is never final. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness .Sometimes just reminding ourselves of the temporality of failure enables us to forge ahead and stay focus looking forward . Failure isn’t something many of us can handle gracefully. And even though we know it’s a common human condition, figuring out how to stay motivated in the face of failure .
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teachings.

Finally HH Dalai Lama said we can practice Dorje Shugden. After all these years of deep frustration felt by the Tibetan people. They who lack religious freedom been denied and been exploited in all sectors of society. More than 60 years the Tibetan leadership has cause the sufferings of those in exile who had propitiate Dorje Shugden. Dalai Lama did reiterated although he recommended not worshipping Dorje Shugden as it is a personal choice and freedom. Interesting read.

Working in a private hospital before ,having witnessed many personal tragedies faced by the living and dying patients. Many of these poor people faced their death with fear, with misery and pain before departing this world. With the images of all these in my mind, on occasion feeling sad and grieve at times when those we have cared .But nonetheless we should recognise certain truths. All of us are going to leave this world at one time and leaving those we love. In the teaching of the Buddha, all of us will pass away eventually as a part in the natural process of birth, old-age and death and that we should always keep in mind the impermanence of life. Along the journey of life, we are reminded of our own inevitable ends in waiting and everything is a blip of transience and impermanent. Be responsible, good and positive for ourselves and towards others. This leads to calmness, happiness and an outlook which contributes to a calm and controlled mind at the time of death. We have to remind ourselves the importance of rebirth and taking time to prepare for their own demise before its too late.To cultivate the good karma, our good actions are an excellent way prepare for our death. Having lead a responsible and compassionate life and have no regrets when death approaches enables us to surrender without a struggle. The life that we all cherish and wish to hold on. We are doomed to the endless cycles of life and death, we should learn and practices Dharma teachings .We are given a chance in life and choice to determine our future, to determine where we will go for rebirth. Spend our time on earth wisely before its too late.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

The Eerie Enigma of the Mothman are refer to the legendary, humanoid, winged creature as said by the locals as where is was been sighted. Since then it had sparking a blend of fear and fascination among the locals in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area. This creature became an eerie symbol of fear, tragedy, and fascination for decades to come since the stories are so enduring and pervasive . The first reported encounter in 1966 in West Virginia and to the most recent one in 2024 in Kane, Illinois. In the quiet town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, the mysterious creature had igniting one of the most puzzling legends in American folklore. Witnesses described this creature standing over seven feet tall, with a wingspan that could rival a small aircraft, glowing red eyes, and a human-like figure. This interesting, could it be real no one knows, there’s something out there for sure.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is considered the incarnation of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and therefore he is an enlightened being. H H Dalai Lama has strongly discouraged the practice of Dorje Shugden worship within Tibetan Buddhism. Dorje Shugden is a prominent deity in the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. Many highly attained Lamas have been relying on this Powerful Protector for centuries and even Dalai lama previously do propitiate Dorje Shugden . It cannot be wrong and its wrong to view it as a form of “spirit worship”. All his previous 9 reincarnations practiced with devotion, all of the Dalai Lamas teachers practiced Dorje Shugdan as well . The Tibetan community is torn over this issue and this has been the cause of much suffering and unnecessary prejudice. Dalai Lama is without doubt an enlightened being that surely cannot be tricked by a spirit. Dalai Lama did composed a praise to Dorje Shugden while at Dungkar Monastery . Interesting article , may more people read this and to understand better regarding this controversy. In 2020, the Dalai Lama made a Uturn by saying we can practice Dorje Shugden . Thats’ wonderful and relief for many practitioners.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

Butön Rinchen Drup, 11th Abbot of Shalu Monastery, was a 14th-century Sakya master and Tibetan Buddhist leader. Butön Rinchen Drup a Tibetan great scholar and translator, known for systematizing the Tibetan Buddhist canon containing the Indian scriptures based on the spoken words of the Buddha. He also compiled the Tangyur collection that contains the Indian and Tibetan commentaries of these teachings. He wrote a famous text, the History of Buddhism in India and Tibet, which many Tibetan scholars utilize in their study till today. He remains to this day as one of the most important Tibetan historians and Buddhist writers in the history of Buddhism and Tibet. He was not merely a capable administrator but he is remembered to this very day as a prodigious scholar and writer and is Tibet’s most celebrated historian. After his death he strongly influenced the development of esoteric studies and psychic training in Tibet for centuries. Interesting biography of a great scholar.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. 7 years ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
