I Love Animals!

I love animals and am passionate against their harm, torture and abuse. Animals cannot express their pain and we don’t need to add to their sufferings. Tara is a wonderful Buddha to invoke to bless the animals. Be kind to them, don’t hurt them, stop their abuse and don’t eat them.

I am so glad that I met Rinpoche and Kechara. After giving my word to Rinpoche a few years back to go vegetarian, I had not looked back to having to eat meat. There are plenty of vegetarian choices that meat is really just an option. Nowadays, when I smell meat, sometimes I get the urge to puck. Just imagining the torture that the animals go through to be slaughtered for human cravings. And meat offers such health hazard, slowly poisoning our bodies the more we consume it. I would advice everyone to give up on meat and be healthier if not for the love of the animals. Thank you Rinpoche for helping me to be just a little bit kinder in not eating meat.
there is also epidemic of psycho abuse & blood libel of animals & lots of commercial diseases & they have no-one in the modern city or out in the wild when dying at that time because there is not enough spirit to sustain them & guide them. psycho abuses hunting preying on animals from afar etc. not allowing hem to manifest immortality spirit.
thank-you very much tashi delek . we have a lot of suffering animals & traumas . please pray abolish all worldwide horse slaughter horse meat transport all equines roundups auctions & donkey slaughter over 8 million annual for skin fat medicines . abolish all cruelty & intervene about corrupt cruel veterinarians & shops. thank-you.
From 2010 to 2017, Rinpoche has consistently posted articles for the welfare of animals, all animals from a broader perspective of conservation on various continents to Rinpcohe’s dogs, Mumu, Dharma and Oser. There are ponds for rescued fishes, aviary for rescued birds and space for rescued dogs in Kechara Forest Retreat.
Thank you for bringing these issues to the world at large.

Rinpoche is well known to be a animal lover. Why? Because His car always have food for stray dogs and cats and whenever Rinpoche passes by a stray He will go down and feed the dog.
And when Rinpoche conceptualised Kechara Forest Retreat He allocated a space for an Aviary (for rescued birds) and also a spacious space for His 3 dogs so they can run around freely.
All animals are sentient beings and we should be kind to them and not eat them. Go vegetarian is the way.
Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing.

In Buddhism , There is 6 realm, all sentient beings, including those in the animal realm, possess Buddha nature and therefore can attain enlightenment and that from infinite rebirths, all animals have been our past relatives, sisters, mothers, brothers, fathers and children. Therefore, we won’t want our own siblings, own parents to be harmed, to be killed or to be eaten . All the beings in the six paths of existence are my parents. If I should kill and eat them, it is the same as killing my own parents. For a person to be reborn in human realm was the most fortunate because only humans could learn more dharma and practice towards attaining Buddhahood . We have the best chance of breaking the Samsaric cycle. Since we have the opportunity to become human , we shall avoid any of the chances in creating bad karma. Animals have a very poor chance even for achieving a better rebirth as in their nature . Instead of harming them, we should help them to have contact with dharma practice and this is the only chance animals have for a better rebirth.
Kindness and justice to animals is an essential part of human virtue.Animals have feelings and emotions, and they suffer from pain, disabilities and diseases just as humans do.
We don’t need to eat animals to survive.Vegan meals contain all the vitamins and nutrients that the human body needs to thrive.
We could live happy and healthy lives without harming and causing animals immense emotional pain and suffering.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful article.
Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for teaching us to be kind towards animals. Not only we should not bullied the animals, we should also avoid doing any hurt and harmful action towards the animals. Such as, using their skin as handbags, using them to do test, or even eat them.
Animals does feel pain and love. If we can feel pain and love, then we are able to know that the pain and love that animals could feel is no other than us. After all, we are also another beings that live in this world.
Hopes more and more people be a vegetarian and have awareness of not using the animals.
Thank you
Love Freon
I also love animals too. They have feelings and need to be loved as well. We must stand for these voiceless beings and one way to do this is by being a vegetarian. I’m proud to be a vegetarian as when the demand stops the killing will stop too
谢谢仁波切的分享,大慈大悲的仁波切一向来都强调我们爱护动物,和教诲我们千千万万不要虐待或滥杀动物。在佛法里,要是滥杀动物,我们也会得到因果报应。大家切记!
Thank you Rinpoche for being an advocate to stop animal suffering and for actively educating others to have the same practice. Try to be kind to animals the next time you encounter one and you will find that it can make you much happier when you treat animals with kindness. When you are cruel to animals, it actually brings suffering to yourself as well.
Totally agree, human cannot understand how suffering of animals, do not hurt them . Be vegetarian is the best way reduce the number of animals to be kill. Is so wonderful train to eat vege since young, you can read at this https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/current-affairs/new-york-school-does-what.html . Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.
i love animals and i am proud to be vegetarian and it is so sad how they cannot express their feelings and they experience so much pain and suffering just to be served on a plate. it is so sad. please become vegetarian
I agree to everything that is said in this post. I too love animals, and cannot bare to see them in suffering. I wish in the future for all of this to stop and for all the animals to remain in a place where they would be safe and away from danger.
Everyone knows that Rinpoche loves animals very much, Rinpoche has proved it with Rinpoche’s action. Sometimes, I feel so glad for the wonderful animals that Rinpoche has kindly adopted. They are so lucky to have people who love them around. I love animals too, I really hate it when someone mistreats them. I have two turtles and a hamster who I bought it back secretly. But my parents soon found out. Surprisingly, they didn’t scold me for that. I’m very fortunate to have them as my mum and dad.
I named my first turtle, Scratchy and for the second one, Itchy. As for my hamster boy, the name is Chubby. I love all of them very much, they can be super adorable at times.
Dear Rinpoche, I love animals too. I hate to see animals getting hurt, It feels like looking at my friend suffer. This is strange but when I see animals suffering, I can feel the pain that they are getting through. One day when I was a boy, I threw big rock on top of a frog’s legs and after that something hit my mind and told me don’t kill it, then when I looked at the frog hopping in pain. There is when I stop hurting animals. So please don’t repeat the things that I did when I was a child be kind to animals and be a vegetarian. Thank you for reading
This is an extremely wonderful quote. Rinpoche has so much compassion for all sentient beings, even animals. Animals are beings who are unable to speak for themselves. It is so unfair that humans take advantage of that. I wish that animal abuse will stop!
Animals sufferings are so much greater than humans as they cant expressed their pains and sufferings. As it is, they are so unfortunate to take rebirth as animals, let us helped them to reduce their sufferings by not abusing or torture them. Be kind to animals. Stop eating them!
The law of cause and effect applies to everyone. Do not inflict pain to others even animals. Rinpoche always advises us against abusing animals as they are helpless and depends on us to care for them. Imagine oneself as an animal and being treated cruelly.
Yes animals cannot speak out their pain and unhappiness, lets help them and not harm them. We have been animals before and we will be an animal again if we are still unenlightened.
Animals are sentient beings, capable of feeling love, loss, pain and fear. They are as deserving as us of a life free of sufferings and exploitation. Until we can extend our circle of compassion to include all living beings, it is said that humanity will not find peace and happiness! As such how can we turn around eating animals;(representing our mothers, fathers, relatives and loveones.) So take a stance – go help to discourage to abandon lunatic killings and savaged treatment of animals. We should encourage others not to take the life of any being, for to do so results in the worst non-virtuous karma that can be produced. Since every being, be it an insect, fish or human being cherishes its life more than anything else, there is no excuse for taking the life of another. One naturally refrains from eating meat when one fully realises that many living beings are needlessly being killed for food. However, when the animal was specifically killed for one own’s consumption, such act is not conducive to the cultivation of bodhicitta, which leads one towards cherishing others more than oneself.
When I was young I use to day dream and think myself to be in the forest with all the Animals surrounding me. And will listen to birds chirping, monkeys chatting, lions roaring with all the other different sounds etc. And when I was asked how would I like my burial to be after I die. I will tell the same story to everyone. I want my body to be cremated. The normal way the Chinese do is to throw the remains of the ashes into the sea. But in my case I want it to be strewn over and into the forest to be with the Animals. Weird huh!
His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is a true animal lover. He always shows affection and care towards animals. He shows that care and love towards others have no real barriers. I want to be like him one day. I love animals too. I own five cats, two dogs, two hamsters and a few little fishes. I treat them all as equal as I can. I do not let them exist plainly for my own pleasure. They have extreme sufferings already as an animal. I sincerely do not want to add to any of their pain. They never show they have pain; they are hurting inside, inside of their little hearts. Rinpoche supports vegetarianism; I try to become vegetarian by not consuming meat on certain days, especially those that are specifically auspicious. Whenever, I take a vegan meal, I would think that I am helping a few more cows, chicken or sheep or maybe a pig live another day. My mother is a vegetarian; I hope to be like her one day. Once again, Animals do not need any more sufferings. To all animals that are currently suffering and has no hope to avoid death. I wish them a swift rebirth into a good and nice realm, best to be human, in a peaceful country like Malaysia to be able to touch the glorious Dharma, even not to go full time in to it but at least enough to have certain imprints for their future lives. OM MANI PADME HUM and TAYATHA OM BECKANZE BECKANZE MAHA BECKANZE BECKANZE RANZA SAMUGHATE SOHA !!!
I remember some of the temples I visited when I was younger; there is always a turtle pond for the public to feed them. Often I will save up some old bread, dry them up under the sun, and bring it to the temple to feed the turtles. There is one temple with a turtle pond near to my grand father’s house. I would often ride on a bicycle on a 15-minute ride from my house to visit my grandfather and hang out with my cousins (few of my uncles and their family live under the same roof with my grandfather). When I got extra dry bread I will bring along to feed the turtles.
Kechara Animal Sanctuary (KAS) plays an important role by saving more than a hundred lives each time an animal liberation takes place. (Please read more on http://www.kechara.com/animal-sanctuary/projects/animal-liberation/). So let’s put our hands together and fulfill H.E. Tsem Rinpoche wishes by liberating animals.
For my own experience, I find it easy to like animals like pandas and baby elephants, they are cute and teddy-bear’ish like. Yet, I found it difficult to experience the same feelings towards other life forms such as spiders, cocroaches and snakes (for example)…
So what is the difference between a lovely puppy and a frightening scorpion? Why would one deserve care and love from me and the other harm and hatred from me? Why would I support a campaign to save the dolphins from being trapped in the net made to capture tuna, and not have the same compassion towards the tunas themselves? Why being so selective?
After all, aren’t all life forms of equal value? Who am I to make a differenciation between such and such living being, thinking that it is plain and simple immoral to kill this one, and plain and simple totally acceptable to kill another one and even EAT it? Is it ok to campaign for the wellfare of animals while at eating a steak?
Am I fooling myself? Is the food industry fueling this foolish delusion by showing me the cartoonish picture of a cute winking chicken smiling happily right above the ovens where chicken carcasses are being cooked?
As Tsem Tulku Rinpoche said before: ” Each time you damage someone, you go further away from the true clear nature of your being. Each time you eat meat, you choose to ignore the sufferings of animals. It doesn’t go away because you ignore it.”
Rinpoche, thank you for inspiring me to train in compassion.
So much pain and suffering…it’s bad enough they are already reborn as animals and not in control of their karma, and on top of that, we who ARE in control (if we choose to be) abuse them? Humans really are ‘creative’ when it comes to abuse, you don’t see animals doing things like this ( http://www.kechara.com/animal-sanctuary/video/shocking-must-watch/ ) to one another.
Those who are interested in ending animal cruelty, Rinpoche has provided other methods, including the Tara practice to against animal cruelty ( http://www.kechara.com/?p=63 ). It’s short and powerful – Mother Tara is so nurturing, so why wouldn’t she be excellent for nurturing animals too?
Rinpoche is a passionate animal lover, and can often be found speaking out against animal abuse, animal slaughter or just uncaring pet owners who think their pets exist for their pleasure alone. Rinpoche’s passion extends to his spiritual work, resulting in his vision of an animal sanctuary as well as regular animal liberation activities.
And another way to reduce animal abuse is to stop eating them! If you don’t think you can commit to a full vegetarian lifestyle, do consider going vegetarian PART TIME – perhaps once a month or once a week?
What’s more, Rinpoche will make special prayers and offerings for anyone who is willing to try this out – check out this link for more info:
