Carl’s outstanding career won him a number of medals and was voted as Olympic Athlete of the Century .He credited his outstanding results in part to the vegan diet he adopted in 1990.He even discovered that athlete does not need aniamal protein to be successful. His best year of track competition was the first year he ate a vegan diet.From then on the entire Olympic track team went vegetarian and won medals …..amazing .Choosing to be on vegetarian is the right choice.

I’m glad to come across this article, he made his point clear. Being a vegetarian doesn’t stop you from doing what you like. In fact, vegetarian diet will provide you a healthy lifestyle and I don’t see anything’s wrong with that. Even the Olympian himself is a vegetarian, then what is your excuse of not being one?
Here is another reason how being a vegetarian is a great thing. This video proves that being a vegetarian helps you to be more fit and you can even be smart at the same time. And this has also encouraged me to never stop being vegetarian. Because i myself am also an sportsman. And ever since i became vegetarian, i saw a change in my performance. Its amazing what vegetarianism can do.
I know a lot of people will say what is so good being a vegetarian, all you eat is fruits and veges. Not only being a vegetarian will let you lose weight and make you healthier it will also lessen the amount of meat that are produced an eaten. Less animals being killed means more animals have been saved. And I know more people will say you must eat have enough amount of meat and veges to balance your diet, but that is wrong scientist proof that being a vegetarian will give you more strength and you go for sports you will feel yourself is lighter. Being a vegetarian is not so bad after all right? So please be a vegetarian not only for yourself but others as well. Thank you for reading
It’s an good example that people should be vegetarian instead of meat eater. As an athelete, controlling diet is very important. In his sports, it needs lots of energy to make good records. It’s a surprise that vegees can give him such a power for him to run fast.
For Atheletes its just exercises and more exercises to keep your body in shape to make you fit and healthy before any Olympics. And also you have to go into dieting program. But Carl Lewis the Olympian has found a way to overcome the problem. He has tried to be a vegn and he has succeeded and is also able to perform with a healthy vegn body. Due to being a vegn and if he is a Buddhist at the same time he will not commit bad karma for eating meat which will lead to killing animals. Like that Carl is able to have 2 benefits which is for him to have a healthy body and not to commit bad karma for killing by being a vegn.
Carl Lewis looks great, his eyes are bright, you can see the glow on his face. So often misperceptions arise from meat as the main source of energy. Its all in the mind. Thank you Rinpoche for this post. So many of my friends are athletes and people on the go. So often, i’ve gotten reasons that going on vegetarian diet won’t cut it as it won’t give the needed energy to sustain a busy lifestyle.
Who would need more energy than Carl Lewis! I hope this will put the debate to rest.
