Two things you have to see!!

Dear friends,

These are two super short but extremely touching videos you must see. It never ceases to amaze me the compassion and care another has for others even if it’s by dogs. Watch and brighten your day. Share with others and friends. Share with kids and let kids know animals should never be abused as they are intelligent and have feelings just like us.

Two tales of dogs saving dogs

Here are two dogs that deserve to take a bow-wow-wow.

In an amazing video making its way through YouTube, a black Labrador retriever comes to the rescue of his two furry friends who are stranded on a canoe in a swift, swirling river.

The video starts with two dogs whimpering aboard a human-less boat as they drift downstream. The location is unidentified but believed to be somewhere in the U.S.

Barks are exchanged between the dogs on the canoe and the Lab, who is offscreen. Then a man yells, “Go in,” and the Lab jumps quickly in the water.

The Lab, whose breed is comfortable in water, swims directly to the canoe, which appears to be caught on something.

A man calls out to the Lab, named Robbie, encouraging him as he swims upstream to the canoe and grabs the tow rope with his mouth. Towing the canoe, Robbie swims back to shore.

As the canoe approaches the shore, the other two dogs jump off and all three are greeted by cheers and pats from people on the riverbank.

If that touching tale makes you pause in amazement, here’s another feat of canine intuition.

Golden retrievers Baily and Baxter, who are brothers, ran away from their owner, Penny Blackwell of Sandwich, Mass., on Sept. 26, WBZ Boston reports.

The dogs, connected by a double leash, went missing, and a distraught Blackwell put up notices on social media sites asking for help finding her beloved pooches.

After two weeks passed, Blackwell told the television station, “I’d pretty much given up hope that they would come home.”

Watch the video below:

Or view the video on the server at:
https://video.tsemtulku.com/videos/doghelps.mp4

Then she received word from someone who had seen her post and had one of her dogs, Baxter.

Amazingly, Baxter’s first concern was Bailey. Blackwell said the returned dog was on a mission.

“Baxter kind of led me off the side through the woods. I had twigs in my eyes and leaves in my hair,” Blackwell said.

Baxter pulled and dragged Blackwell to where Bailey was—tied to the leash, which was wrapped around a bush.

“He was jumping on me and jumping on Baxter because he was so happy to see us,” Blackwell told WBZ Boston. She thinks both dogs were trapped together until Baxter somehow got free.

“Baxter’s a hero for taking me there,” said Blackwell, who noted that the dogs endured cold and rainy nights when they went missing.

Hero dogs Robbie and Baxter each deserve a big blue ribbon—for Best of Show.

Amazing….watching these two videos ,how a dog saving not only one but two dogs. What he did was amazing, swimming against the strong current . grabing the rope and pulled the boat to the shore .Wonder he was trained to pulled the ropes.
Golden retrievers Baily and Baxter went missing for two miseable weeks and later found their way home sweet home.
Two wonderful video will definitely inspired many dogs lovers.
They are man best friends afterall. They are one of us and never hurt them. Give them care and love.
    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article. It is amazing how animals like dogs help one another when in times of need and able to bring people to the rescue. Although they cannot talk, they are to lead people to save lives. Really bravo to these dogs.

    With folded palms,
    Vivian

Dear Rinpoche, I really don’t understand these people. If they don’t want the dogs anymore then they should give it to some of their friends , they must at least have a few friends who love dogs right? Some people hate puppies so much that they would throw them into the river. And that makes me wonder, if they hate dogs so much then how did they manage to get these dogs?

  4. Edern Tan on Sep 19, 2013 at 9:31 pm

it is really a awesome video to watch but unfortunately the second videos was taken down by youtube so I was unable to watch it, but simply watching the first video I can see the connection between dogs.why cant we humans ave such connection so there would be no killing and other bad stuff…

  5. VInnie Tan on Sep 11, 2013 at 3:20 pm

These dogs are just unbelievable. The daily heroes that we will least expect. Through the videos we can tell that these little creatures have emotions too, and they do care about the things that happen around them. They care for other beings as well. I do not understand how some people are still able to harm these creatures despite the things that they have done for us.

  6. Andrew Boon on Mar 19, 2013 at 1:10 pm

Watching videos like this reaffirms to me that we are all inherently good (call it True Nature, Buddha Nature, The Self, whatever!), so why do we suppress ourselves, our capabilities, our very essence is beyond me.

Is samsara that luring and suffering that seductive that we cannot let go off. In the recent days I have seen negative karma rear its ugly head and I do not wish that upon others or myself.

I do hope these videos will inspire us to be better people… kinder and less focused on ourselves. All the suffering in the world is caused by selfishness in one way or another…

  7. Jutika Lam on Jan 26, 2013 at 4:52 pm

    Dear Rinpoche,

Wow!!! These two videos and stories are just so touching!

I especially loved the first video where that black Labrador
who goes in to the the water to rescue two dogs stranded on a human-less canoe. It was a wonder though how it was for a man to just abandon a canoe and just leave his dogs there. Maybe he was just training or maybe it really happened.

Regarding the second video i was just amazing how when the owner was just about to give up she got a call that one of her dogs was found.
It is amazing how a dog’s scent and it’s sense of smell can be so powerful and strong to sniff and find his brother which was in the forest.

It is true that we should not just nature kids to not abuse animals but also adults and young adults as they too abuse animals too especially in Malaysia and other countries.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing these heart warming tales of dogs.

    Love
    Jutika

A lot of animals are intelligent, care and love each other .Human so self-fish,have to learn from ” animal” ??? Please stop to eat them ,they have right to choose their own life , think from animal side. Be vegetarian and save more animals .

  9. tenzin llhamo on Dec 4, 2012 at 7:26 pm

Amazing! I will never argue with whomever that says ‘Dog is a man’s best friend’ because it is true! Be it a human or another being, dogs will never hesitate to help. Its like as though they know. Loving, friendly and smart! I really miss having a dog at home.

  10. Sheryl KH (JB) on Nov 4, 2012 at 9:28 pm

Labrators and retrievers are on top of the list of Dog Intelligence. They are easy to train and extremely helpful and friendly to humans.

Regardless of dog breed, I always find dogs to be very loyal, especially to their own owners or those who take care of them.

Some people have even made the comment that it is far better to keep a dog than a human, simply for the loyalty reason. I fully agree with this statement.

  11. Adrian Cho on Nov 1, 2012 at 7:10 pm

It is very touching video and this dog just like a super hero, to save other dogs 🙂 What a lovely video, that show this dog have much compassion… Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this post.

  12. Jessica Yap on Oct 29, 2012 at 6:17 am

Even animals can show compassion towards another animal, what more us humans. The doggies has shown us the most basic but important example: kindness/altruism. If us as humans, cannot develop kindness and empathize animals, how are we to practice it on fellow humans?

    Thank you for sharing, Rinpoche.

  13. Pastor Yek Yee on Oct 26, 2012 at 3:26 am

It is an amazing video which I never watched before. If I not watch the video by my own eyes, I won’t believe that is a real story. A dog bravely rescued it’s friends in danger situation. COOL!!!

I am thinking now I understand why Buddha love all sentient beings because we all same. No matter you are a man or a woman, a pig, a cute doggie, a kitten, all of us like to live in love and care environment which make us feel comfortable. For example the video shoot a dog rescued his friends in the middle of river that showed the dog has care and love naturally.

I believed that animals have their own language or method to communicate which human don’t understand. But the love and care they showed to their friends was same.

This is a very good video for us to contemplate:” Shall we see all animals as same as like us?”Because they are actually same with us??? If yes, then I think better stop kill, abused, torture animals! Don’t you think that too? Be vegetarian!!Reduce suffering for others…

  14. Wan Wai Meng on Oct 25, 2012 at 9:04 pm

Amazing and very heart warming from animals, if animals can think of helping other animals then as humans we must do much much better than that. We must help the people around us as well, if we do that then life becomes much more meaningful.

  15. Davin on Oct 24, 2012 at 7:58 pm

Its very heartwarming video. It really touching when that dog just jump into the stream risking it’s own life to safe fellow dogs. This show that even animal show love and cares. How about we as a human? We should start practicing kindness and compassion.

  16. So Kin Hoe on Oct 22, 2012 at 10:29 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful blog and video. Animals can do something which many people cannot do; risking their own lives to save their peer. Let us remove our own ego and take our first step to smile at strangers and help those who are unknown to us. Animal especially dogs are good example for us to learn about compassion. They give us chances to bring out our inner compassion and eventually show us the spiritual path.

  17. Albert Ratchaga on Oct 22, 2012 at 11:46 am

really inspiring video, this clearly shows how much passion a dog has, as human, we always treat animal as low life, never bother to care about their feeling, because we thought that we are so superior as compare to them, but in fact, the animal is proving us a fool, animal is so loyal, kind and caring, and sad to say, these qualities is hard to find in human in today’s world, most of the people are just thinking about their own benefit and not others.

  18. jennifer on Oct 21, 2012 at 3:45 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for the two videos !
Dogs are the most amazing, wonderful, incredible creatures ! Robbie, Bailey & Baxter are just great examples of loyalty, compassion, fearlessness and courage! Virtues that are nowadays rarely found in man.
‘The more i know of man, the more i love dogs !’

  19. Mayy on Oct 21, 2012 at 12:24 am

Great examples for us to learn from dogs. Many of us as human do not even show or act the kindness and compassion portrayed by the dogs in both the videos especially the first video where the Labrador fearlessly swam to save the dogs on canoe. Many of us would just walk pass or ignore any incidents or situations that may warrant our help. Now the dogs show us the way. Do we care enough to even love ourselves to render help, care and kindness to others irrespective whether they are friends or families to us? Everyone of us has that kindness and love in us. We need to bring out that by starting to care and !love others.

  20. patsy on Oct 18, 2012 at 11:09 pm

Not only humans can show love and care, even animals can. In the first video, the Lab risked his life to save the two dogs while in the second video, the golden retriever managed to break free and went back to ask for help to rescue his brother. Kudos to such brave dogs who would risks their lives for others. Humans should follow the good examples set by these dogs.

  21. bengkooi on Oct 17, 2012 at 9:56 pm

See, its not just humans who are capable of doing good, but dogs are too. One of the things that Rinpoche has said to me that has really stuck is “When was the last time you did something for someone without agenda? And when was the last time someone did something for you without agenda?” In the case of the black Lab, it really was just to help a friend in need…

Thats what we should think about the next time we are about to tuck into a juicy piece of meat…

  22. Mei Fong on Oct 17, 2012 at 4:19 pm

Dogs are very very smart animals. They can think and strategize also. Both of this videos which I thank Rinpoche for sharing had shown so much about how animals can also be compassionate to other animals. Some of the animals might know the other half they are saving, but there are also tonnes of videos out there that show animals saving animals of the other kind as well.

  23. verontung on Oct 17, 2012 at 1:18 pm

It is always very touching to read and see these videos of doggies. The stories are real, coz doggies ain’t actor. They do not pretend and are really kind and intelligent. Such a good person it is to found the Baxter and inform Penny. There might be chances people will self keep the dog or they could not trace it back to their owner and that will be a very sad scenario. Thanks Rinpoche for the lovely videos~!

  24. Uncle Eddie on Oct 17, 2012 at 12:18 pm

It is said that dogs do have obsessive observation of humans and the ability to understand human communication; for example, dogs follow human pointing so well that they can understand it. Some animals are like humans and they can communicate their feelings too. Many are more intelligent than humans – and their intelligence and awareness are made clear, as proven in these two cases in this blog. In the event of an earthquake disaster, when it involved with a search and rescue operations, the dogs will be the most effective elements or instrumants which can sniff out the survivors buried under the rubbles faster than any human rescuer. Many human lives have been saved through them. The famous saying that “A dog is the man’s best friend” is a well deserved and most suitable title bestowed on them.

  25. May Ong on Oct 16, 2012 at 8:45 am

It is very touching to watch these videos. These dogs showed they ae not much different than human and they show feelings although they can speak. Their actions spoke louder than words.
    Excellent sharing!

  26. Gim Lee on Oct 15, 2012 at 8:59 pm

The 1st story of stranded dogs on the canoe is really amazing, the two dogs were afraid and keep barking, then there is this ‘hero’ dog that swam against the tide to save them. It sounds very much like Disney movie but it is not….

The 2nd story is equally amazing… These 2 stories showed us that, like us, animals have feelings too, so we should never harm them.

  27. lim tat ming on Oct 15, 2012 at 8:47 pm

I admire the bravery of the dog that jumped into the river to save his fellow beings at the instruction of his master! It is done completely without hesitation! This rescuer could have drown or being pushed down the river by the rapids. Sometimes we notice that dogs have more compassion than humans when it comes to saving lives. Humans can learn a lot about compassion from the animals …

  28. edward ooi on Oct 15, 2012 at 8:24 pm

If dogs can save each others lives why can’t we.It shows us that we need to reach out for anyone when they need help and no matter the cost.I think that we should learn from the dogs.

  29. PhillisChin on Oct 15, 2012 at 8:15 pm

Very touch! I like to watch this kind of video.True story, pretend is always a NO … I always tell people around me that, “Dogs are like human, perhaps, they are better than human sometimes.” It is true, lots of video that can prove that.
Thank You Rinpoche for the sharing.

  30. Cindy Lee on Oct 15, 2012 at 8:09 pm

Dogs are very smart, there help people, look after our house.
Sometimes there are even better then human beings.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this with us.

  31. sockwan on Oct 15, 2012 at 7:45 pm

Animals have feelings too. Remember the Hachiko? Who waited for his master even after the master passed away? Even though they cannot talk but they have emotion too. Don’t abuse them just because they are not one of our kind. Also, we might be reborn or people who we know might have reborn as an animal. We do not want to harm the people we know, do we?

Amazing dogs, can we do the same to our friends?

  32. Carmen Lin on Oct 15, 2012 at 7:26 pm

Animals has the instinct of selflessness that was rarely could be found in man kind. Animals are straight to the point to save one another. We as a human being are selfish to save another person again with our own intelligent calculative mind. We help if it in returns benefits us in a way. Very rare we can find huge compassion for others in human being, well except for Lord Buddha and H.E Tsem Rinpoche, who loves us all sentient being regardless. We have the chance to be a human and it is not easy, therefore we should practice the Dharma, to be a better and more giving person, and learnt from the Dogs on the above video who showed us what compassion is. We should never let go of the little tiny compassion we have within us. Don’t be blinded with our selfish and calculative mind. Be gentle and generous with the people around us and then extent all out to others. I know we’re not a Buddha to do that, but at least practice and apply into our daily lives. We’re not perfect but at least we are trying to be a good person who doesn’t harm others including animals and sentient beings; be a good person who will give out a helping hand in times of need. Just spread out the love and compassion, the world doesn’t need more suffering than it has been suffered enough. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this inspiring post, hopefully this can helps people to realize something.

  33. grace (KHJB) on Oct 15, 2012 at 7:24 pm

This is really touching to see Lab to rescue the dogs, bravely without any resistant .We should be kind to the animals, love them and do not harm them.

  34. Beatrix Ooi on Oct 15, 2012 at 6:57 pm

These videos of hero doggies are very touching. But the one touched me the most was the first video. This makes me think, even animals can do that why can’t humans? I’ve been seeing a lot of news about people who are dying on the streets aren’t getting any help or attention from the surroundings. If that’s in the case, humans r nothing compare to dogs. Dogs are very loyalty and caring beings, i think humans should really practise that.Thank You for sharing these videos Rinpoche.

  35. Sean Wang on Oct 15, 2012 at 6:36 pm

These videos show how even animals can be more kind than most humans. My favourite one was the first one with the dogs in the canoe. It was so cool for the dog to pull in the dogs in the canoe. I also felt a bit sad when watching the first one because someone had left the dogs in the canoe. The person who did that must be so evil. Also, why didn’t the human in the video save the dogs himself? Nevertheless, both videos are very nice and cute. Thanks for sharing the video, Rinpoche. Love, Sean.

  36. Lanse on Oct 15, 2012 at 6:05 pm

These dogs are just so amazing and what they did really touched me deeply. Their care toward their peers is even deeper than some human beings. Who said animals have no soul? Many cases had proven that they are very faithful to their owners, some even sacrificed their lives in order to save their owners. If dogs have soul, then definitely other animals have soul too. How can we kill and eat them just to satisfy our palate pleasures? Aren’t we always claiming that we are more intelligent than the animals? Is eating meat a way to prove that we are stronger and smarter than the animals?

  37. Abby F on Oct 15, 2012 at 5:58 pm

Robbie the Lab is soooo brave! He has the courage to do so! And he is really smart 🙂 Smart handsome boy! 🙂 He is the the real superman in my heart! For another video, we can see how animals love each other. Sometimes it is quite irony that human being won’t do this to their friends or family but animals will. But I believe it is ok, because all of us has the Buddha nature within. Thank you Rinpoche for your kind sharing. I’ll definitely share this on my FB 😀

  38. Pastor Susan on Oct 15, 2012 at 5:37 pm

When it comes to animals, i can melt in a split of a second. These two videos really made my day. So often, I find myself incredibly inspired by animals and these two videos did just that! Please do not hurt animals. Do all you can to take care of them. Don’t eat them. They are not food. Some animals have the ability to express their love and intelligence. Some does not, but they have feelings just the same, .. just like you and me.

  39. AdelineTan on Oct 15, 2012 at 4:26 pm

Dogs are very intelligent and loyal animal they have good memory too, if they are trained, they can be very helpful to us. I love dogs, they make good companions.

  40. Julien Roth on Oct 15, 2012 at 4:15 pm

These videos of dogs are both amazing! But i think the first video that was posted touched me the most. This was because i was so amazed that dogs do not only have love and loyalty to their owners, but they also show the same way to their fellow dog friends. Dogs are full of love to others. And i think its time that everybody shows as much love to them as they show to us. Thank you for sharing these videos Rinpoche.

    • DR on Oct 20, 2012 at 12:58 pm

Dear Julien, I couldn’t agree with you more. And btw, you write well and clear. In Buddhism, we are thought to develop all the virtues like giving (giving of time, love, help, etc)regardless of whether it is to another fellow human being or to animals. When we give, it is a positive energy emanated from us and animals can feel the same. In fact, anything with consciousness can feel it too. Hence the dogs in this video behaved in this manner. So beautiful, isn’t it?

  41. Lim Han Nee on Oct 15, 2012 at 3:21 pm

Amazing stories of care and love coming from the furry world. A black Labrador swims upstream to rescue two dogs left stranded in an unmanned canoe. A golden retriever dog aids in rescuing his brother who would have died from the rain and the cold, if left alone and lost for longer.

These two stories are truly inspiring. The first story especially strikes me as it is about the Labrador risking his own life to rescue two dogs who were total strangers to him. How many people would do that?

  42. HelenaC on Oct 15, 2012 at 3:08 pm

Awwww….this is so touched and heart warming!! Even the furry friends are compassionate then human! If human were to have the quality of loyalty and unconditional love towards one and other like this beautiful beings, the world will be very beautiful hehe.
Thank you Rinpoche for the lovely post, it is very inspiring 🙂

  43. Jeffrey on Oct 15, 2012 at 3:06 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing. It’s really touching and amazing that even dogs have compassion. That dog just jump into the stream risking it’s own life to safe fellow dogs. That dog is really intelligent as it know how to pull the boat to safety. I think the owner must have thought it how to do that. Never the less it beats me.

  44. sarahyap on Oct 15, 2012 at 1:32 pm

OMB these dogs are so smart! Swimming against the water current must be difficult but he did it anyway to help the dogs on the canoe. And in the second video, the dog able to track down his brother which would have died if he couldn’t find… amazing.

I’m really glad that Penny put up her missing dogs on facebook and actually got a response from there!

  45. Irene Lim on Oct 15, 2012 at 12:52 pm

Why eat animals when they are as clever and compassionate as us? Lets be kind to animals. Please choose plant-based diet for nutrition which is as good if not better and save planet earth.

  46. nicholas on Oct 15, 2012 at 12:38 pm

Even dog shows loves and cares.
Why human can’t? We should love and care to all because we are capable in anyway compare to the animals.

What we need is to develop the compassion heart and apply it to everyone.

Be a better person and able to do more for others.

    • James Long on Oct 18, 2012 at 4:02 pm

We all too focus on ourselves, what we want and what we need. It is inspiring to see animals show care and love towards others, we are all the same, sentients being, we should do the same for others.

I saw many people on the road, do not even care about other’s safety, and just over take or drive as fast as they like without thinking of others. In order to get a parking space, they ignore other people who are walking on the street, and drove as fast they can just to park their car for lunch… We do not need to think of benefiting the wole world for now, but should start with our daily life and focus on others more.

  47. judy.lam@kechara.com on Oct 15, 2012 at 12:32 pm

very sweet stories of these dogs. The Lab towards the boat and pulled it to safe grounds – I thought Lab was a well-trained dog.
In the other story, Baxter’s priority is to find his brother Bailey. Again dogs have this uncanny talent of finding their direction. Though we heard of many stories of how dogs are saviors, it is always very endearing to read more about such stories, which makes us think if we human are better than dogs in some ways? There have been stories of abandoned babies, and some people even abandon their parents in old folks home. Rinpoche always taught us to love our parents and I truly believe that love and compassion starts from the home.

  48. deborah on Oct 15, 2012 at 12:21 pm

This video gave me goosebumps, in a good way. How’d they know to find their way or do the right thing?
There are a lot of animals at a higher level that are so intelligent and kind (sometimes even more so than humans) and it never ceases to amaze me. Thank you Rinpoche for the lovely video.

    • sweekeong on Oct 16, 2012 at 5:19 am

Dogs have very sharp natural sense of tracking where they are. Animals who moved a lot have very good sense of directions especially birds. Most of them could find back where they were. Also they are quite patient and not easily give up when they face obstacle when looking for food or moving from one place to another place especially you see the dog in cities where they want to cross the road from one side to another.

Wat Rong Khun better known as the White Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai province, Thailand. The gold symbolizes how people focus on worldly desires and money. The white building represents the idea to make merit and to focus on the mind. It is owned by a succesful Thai businessman who opened it to visitors in 1997. Awesome….This temple stands out through the white colour and use of pieces of glass that sparkle in the sun. The white colour signifies the purity of Buddha while the glass symbolizes Buddha’s wisdom. Located 3 hour drive from Chiang Mai built to honour and pay tribute to sacred Buddhist figures. Over time, temples grew in prominence and is one of the famous temples to visit in Thailand. I have visited years back its simple stunning temple which truly love the design and architecture .

Sak Yant, a traditional Thai tattooing practice, involves sacred geometrical and animal designs. Its often accompanied by Pali phrases, and is believed to offer power, protection, charisma, and other benefits to the wearer. Sak Yant tattoos are deeply rooted in Buddhist and spiritual beliefs, with each design and symbol carrying specific meanings and purported powers. Many designs are believed to provide protection against evil spirits, misfortune, and danger. Sak Yant tattoos are traditionally applied by monks or masters using a needle and ink, and the process is often accompanied by chants and blessings. I personally have not seen one yet . Sound interesting.

Jojo Struys is a travel and wellness personality, accredited yoga instructor, speaker and author. She visited Bangsar of Kechara outlet for a feature with Star Property. With her visit hopefully more people will get to know more of our Kechara . She had made a video with and Pastor David Lai all about Buddhist Arts. She openly admitted interested in Buddhist art . Buddhist art pieces have given her home a contemporary edge. Art was important to Buddhist religious life. It was not only part of ritual and worship but also served to transmit religious ideas, and artistic styles between cultures. Do agree with her statement ,…..if you want to change your life, change the way you think, because everything begins with you.”

n their theoretical model, rudeness has this impact on our ability to think because it engenders negative sadness, anger. Researchers have found that common negative behaviours can spread easily and have significant consequences. The best way to avoid rude people is to meet their acts of rudeness with kindness. Exposure to neurotoxins in society is not new. Children today are raised in an environment that is much different from those days. Nowadays they are exposed to behaviours, profane language, hostilities and stress from which we adults, raised a generation ago. Studies have shown that children exposed to serious psychological trauma during childhood are at risk of suffering increased psychiatric disorders. Interesting read.

Revisit this blog again . Reading comments in this blog Rich people have substantial assets and income, providing a sense of security and freedom from financial worries. Owning high-end cars, designer clothing and everything they want with their money. Rich people often have more time for leisure, hobbies, and travel, allowing them to pursue interests and experiences. They may live in large, luxurious homes and have or apartments, often in desirable locations and having personalized services. The fundamental difference in mindset between the rich and the poor is, the rich have understood a very simple principle money makes money. Rich people see money as an opportunity, while poor people see it as something to be earned. Poor people work hard for their money. It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much. The primary difference between rich people and poor people is how they handle their wealth. My thought been rich in this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.
    Thank you for sharing Rinpoche.

Found this old post …disturbing. Having a name especially a Bar linked to Buddha to be disrespectful towards Buddhism. After much controversy the owner had it removed. The Buddha Bar located in Sabah by a young owner which opened without much thought had many people complaining. Later was forced to have its controversial name changed to ‘Peacock Garden’ and had apologised for the controversial name. As a devout Buddhist, the name ‘Buddha Bar’ which serves alcohol, is disrespectful to the revered Buddha.

Siberia, considered the heartland of shamanism inhabited by many different ethnic groups, and many of its peoples observe shamanistic. Many of the indigenous communities reclaiming their traditional spiritual and healing practices . Interesting. Siberian shamanism is often called Tengerism, involves various rituals, including drumming, chanting, trance states, and offerings to nature spirits and ancestors. This religious practice has deep roots in Siberia and Central Asia in recent years with roots in the Turkic and Mongolic cultures. Many who have been live in a remote part of Russia, have preserved their shamanic traditions due to their isolation. Many customs of Tengrism are still been practiced where they emphasizes a deep respect for nature and its various spirits, including those of the earth, water, and mountains. They do believe in the continued existence of souls and the importance of honouring their ancestors.
Thank you Rinpoche sharing this ancient religion.

Everyone of us has an unforgettable different experience, a different destination and itineraries. The journey to Shar Gaden Monastery back in 2019, making offerings to the sangha , by the Kecharians hold special moments and memories. They were on behalf of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche and Kechara in making an offering to all 650 monks of the monastery. On this fruitful trip the Kecharians had the honour to catch a glimpse of the normally-covered holy statue of Dorje Shugden . Awesome this holy statue of Dorje Shugden was handmade by HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. The team was also granted an audience with H E Domo Geshe Chocktrul Rinpoche. Having the opportunity to make offerings to the monks was indeed meritorious. Rejoice to them. Looking at those beautiful pictures paints a thousands words. Thank you Rinpoche and team for this sharing. Merely looking at it is a blessing especially the Holy Statue of Dorje Shugden.

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. We can’t let our failures define us. Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. Success is never permanent, and failure is never final. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness .Sometimes just reminding ourselves of the temporality of failure enables us to forge ahead and stay focus looking forward . Failure isn’t something many of us can handle gracefully. And even though we know it’s a common human condition, figuring out how to stay motivated in the face of failure .
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teachings.

Finally HH Dalai Lama said we can practice Dorje Shugden. After all these years of deep frustration felt by the Tibetan people. They who lack religious freedom been denied and been exploited in all sectors of society. More than 60 years the Tibetan leadership has cause the sufferings of those in exile who had propitiate Dorje Shugden. Dalai Lama did reiterated although he recommended not worshipping Dorje Shugden as it is a personal choice and freedom. Interesting read.

Working in a private hospital before ,having witnessed many personal tragedies faced by the living and dying patients. Many of these poor people faced their death with fear, with misery and pain before departing this world. With the images of all these in my mind, on occasion feeling sad and grieve at times when those we have cared .But nonetheless we should recognise certain truths. All of us are going to leave this world at one time and leaving those we love. In the teaching of the Buddha, all of us will pass away eventually as a part in the natural process of birth, old-age and death and that we should always keep in mind the impermanence of life. Along the journey of life, we are reminded of our own inevitable ends in waiting and everything is a blip of transience and impermanent. Be responsible, good and positive for ourselves and towards others. This leads to calmness, happiness and an outlook which contributes to a calm and controlled mind at the time of death. We have to remind ourselves the importance of rebirth and taking time to prepare for their own demise before its too late.To cultivate the good karma, our good actions are an excellent way prepare for our death. Having lead a responsible and compassionate life and have no regrets when death approaches enables us to surrender without a struggle. The life that we all cherish and wish to hold on. We are doomed to the endless cycles of life and death, we should learn and practices Dharma teachings .We are given a chance in life and choice to determine our future, to determine where we will go for rebirth. Spend our time on earth wisely before its too late.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

The Eerie Enigma of the Mothman are refer to the legendary, humanoid, winged creature as said by the locals as where is was been sighted. Since then it had sparking a blend of fear and fascination among the locals in the Point Pleasant, West Virginia area. This creature became an eerie symbol of fear, tragedy, and fascination for decades to come since the stories are so enduring and pervasive . The first reported encounter in 1966 in West Virginia and to the most recent one in 2024 in Kane, Illinois. In the quiet town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, the mysterious creature had igniting one of the most puzzling legends in American folklore. Witnesses described this creature standing over seven feet tall, with a wingspan that could rival a small aircraft, glowing red eyes, and a human-like figure. This interesting, could it be real no one knows, there’s something out there for sure.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is considered the incarnation of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and therefore he is an enlightened being. H H Dalai Lama has strongly discouraged the practice of Dorje Shugden worship within Tibetan Buddhism. Dorje Shugden is a prominent deity in the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. Many highly attained Lamas have been relying on this Powerful Protector for centuries and even Dalai lama previously do propitiate Dorje Shugden . It cannot be wrong and its wrong to view it as a form of “spirit worship”. All his previous 9 reincarnations practiced with devotion, all of the Dalai Lamas teachers practiced Dorje Shugdan as well . The Tibetan community is torn over this issue and this has been the cause of much suffering and unnecessary prejudice. Dalai Lama is without doubt an enlightened being that surely cannot be tricked by a spirit. Dalai Lama did composed a praise to Dorje Shugden while at Dungkar Monastery . Interesting article , may more people read this and to understand better regarding this controversy. In 2020, the Dalai Lama made a Uturn by saying we can practice Dorje Shugden . Thats’ wonderful and relief for many practitioners.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

Butön Rinchen Drup, 11th Abbot of Shalu Monastery, was a 14th-century Sakya master and Tibetan Buddhist leader. Butön Rinchen Drup a Tibetan great scholar and translator, known for systematizing the Tibetan Buddhist canon containing the Indian scriptures based on the spoken words of the Buddha. He also compiled the Tangyur collection that contains the Indian and Tibetan commentaries of these teachings. He wrote a famous text, the History of Buddhism in India and Tibet, which many Tibetan scholars utilize in their study till today. He remains to this day as one of the most important Tibetan historians and Buddhist writers in the history of Buddhism and Tibet. He was not merely a capable administrator but he is remembered to this very day as a prodigious scholar and writer and is Tibet’s most celebrated historian. After his death he strongly influenced the development of esoteric studies and psychic training in Tibet for centuries. Interesting biography of a great scholar.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. One of the places everyone should visit- https://bit.ly/2VgsHhK

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
