Vegan Blood is Eight Times More Protective Against Cancer
Every day we receive more and more news about the benefits of a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, and about the negative impact of meat in the diet. Here is another such instance when research and science support the fact that going vegan has a tremendous positive impact on health.
Whatever your reasons are for not eating meat, religious or otherwise, better health and better immunity are an undeniable side benefit of going vegetarian, and all the more so if you choose to adopt a vegan diet. I have noticed that vegans sometimes get criticized for their choices, and the criticisms usually revolve around beliefs that a vegan diet lacks nutrition, is deficient in certain vitamins and minerals, is unhealthy or unnatural. However, this scientific research proves otherwise, i.e. that there are tremendous health benefits for vegans, for instance being protected against one of the top causes of premature death.
I hope this article helps all vegetarians and vegans out there to stay firm with their choice of sustenance and to feel happy knowing that they did not make the wrong decision. And I also hope that more people will explore incorporating veganism, vegetarianism or at least some meat-free meals/days into their diet.

Scientists Find Blood From Vegans is Eight Times More Protective Against Cancer
Scientists have found that blood taken from vegans is 8 times more effective at killing cancer cells than blood taken from those following a Standard American Diet.
In a series of experiments people were placed on different diets and their blood was then dripped on cancer cells in a petri dish to see which diet resulted in blood that was more effective at suppressing cancer growth.
Even the blood of those on a Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) fights cancer, but the blood circulating within the bodies of vegans was shown to have nearly 8 times the stopping power when it comes to cancer cell growth. That was after maintaining a plant-based diet for a year.[1]
Subsequent studies against breast cancer showed the power of eating plants for just two weeks.[2]. A dramatic strengthening of cancer defences was shown after 14 days of a plant-based diet and light exercise (walking between 30 to 60 minutes a day).
Samples of blood were taken from women with breast cancer, and then the women were asked to spend 14 days on a plant-based diet and perform 30-60 minutes of light exercise daily. After 14 days their blood was taken again and found to significantly slow down the growth of cancer, as well as increase the blood’s ability to kill cancer cells.
However it was also important to test how much effect the exercise component had in suppressing cancer growth, or whether the plant-based diet was solely responsible for the boost in defences.
So a separate experiment[3] was setup and the results found that while the exercise did help to suppress cancer growth, the plant-based diet alone had twice as much power to kill cancer cells.
Lifestyle changes can have a huge effect on our long term health and reduce the risk of contracting cancer and increase the chances of surviving cancer. A plant-based diet and regular exercise can really help improve our long term quality of life. And having blood that’s more inhospitable to cancer growth is just one major health advantage of the vegan diet.

Thank you for sharing this article. Many people are more concerned about their health and are switching their life style to live longer and healthier by begin Vegetarian. I too beliefs, the culture practices of some religious also plays an important roles of some to be vegetarian. This is because of the willingness of them and also avoid killing animal for food.
As we know studies has proven that vegetarian diets can provide much more nutrients, and at the same time reduce more chronic disease, compared with meat eaters. Hope this article will help more people aware of their food intake and to choose to have a healthy lifestyle.
It is a great news to know that vegan diet helping human to have better health .Being a vegetarian has many benefits .Hopefully this article will help more people to go on vegetarian .Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful and informative article.
I was brought up in a family that meat or fish was always one of the dishes served on the table. Everyone in the family believed if we want to stay healthy, we must consume meat. A balanced diet in my family was some portion of meat, fish and vegetables.
As I was exposed more to vegetarianism, I realised meat and fish does not give us the nutrients that our body needs. In fact, they are harmful to our body because of the way they are kept and also the environment they are living in. It is medically proven that meat eater has a higher risk of getting cancer and heart diseases.
Besides, the way cows, pigs and chickens and how other livestock is kept are not really humane. Knowing the suffering they have to go through to satisfy our craving, it is hard to want to eat meat anymore. If we cannot protect the animals, at least we don’t create suffering to them, we can do that by opting for a vegetarian diet which is also healthier.
Animals show love for humans! Cow, lions, apes, dogs, bears, parrots and more can all be very affectionate and show surprising emotions when it comes to expressing their love for people. An emotional animals hugging humans video.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the article. It is important for people around the world to understand the importance of being vegetarian / vegan. Definitely worth to share this knowledge to all vegans or vegetarians to keep up with the commitments and live towards a cancer free life! 🙂
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the article. It is important for people around the world to understand the importance of being vegetarian / vegan. As it is more beneficial not only to human health, but to the environment too. Now, more and more animals are facing the danger of extinction, other than that, with the technology we have, even the food that farm animals eat can cause a certain disease to the animal. So, after humans eating their meat, it will harm humans too. Plus, now China realize the importance of reducing meat consumption, they also encourage their citizen to cut down meat consumption by 50%. Hopefully more and more people will realize this, and they’ll be less killing in the world. _/\_
It has been proven that meat contains carcinogens. So every time you eat meat you are basically increasing the chances of getting cancer. For some though cancer may be due to some genetic problems, cancer due to genetic problems can be avoided, by leading a healthy lifestyle and avoiding carcinogens from meat.
The meat industry does a lot of harm to the environment, all the waste products from the animals are dumped in waterways, these waste often contain harmful bacteria as well as a wide range of toxic chemicals that can harm the environment.
So by avoiding meat we Increase our lifespan, reduce the number of living beings killed, and we save the planet where over 7 billion people stay.
It’s a great news to know about vegan diet helping human to have better health. All this while we might know regular exercise is good for health, to enhance our immune system in fighting diseases. The finding of vegan blood which is more protective than non-vegan blood in fighting cancer cell I believe is an encouragement to many who are looking for better health, to fight cancer – which is killing more and more people since last few decades ago.
Even you might be not the high risk cancer group of people, a plant based diet is always healthier as shown by many scientific findings. Let’s go for plant-based diet!
After reading the article, I think being a vegetarian/vegan has many benefit, not only protective against cancer, also can protect our environment and not letting animals suffering.
This interesting discovery will definitely clear up some misconceptions about being a vegan. Not only does it serve to reaffirm the benefits of going vegan (or even vegetarian for that matter) but also reinforces the point that with good planning and an understanding of what makes up a healthy, balanced vegan (or less intense vegetarian) diet, we can get all the nutrients our body needs. Hopefully, this would encourage people to cut down or better yet, give up, on meat consumption and opt for plant-based diet. Thank you, Rinpoche, for this sharing.
It is said by so many people that when we are vegetarians, we lack in certain vitamins and it is not as healthy as what we believe it is. However, through scientific research, it shows that what people believe that having meat in our diet is all false. The main reason being when we take meat, we are not only consuming dead corpses, we are also consuming the adrenaline rush that the animals go through before their death.
We also do not get the first-hand nutrients when we consume meat. Reason being that the main source of nutrients is still from the plants that these animals consume. So if we go directly to the source of nutrients it will be more beneficial to us.
It is just great news that by being a vegan, we actually lower the cancer chances. It shows that there is a hope for cancer prevention and cure. It is just a matter if we are willing to make that step to change or not.
It’s true that the common belief of being a vegetarian lacks of certain nutrients. minerals and vitamins. This is what people always tell me..and they do blame your choice of diet makes you look slimmer because you’re malnutritious. LOL.
This is another good news for all vegetarian/vegan backed up with studies and scientific research. To me, changing my diet style comes from the inspiration of being kind and compassionate to our fellow friends- animals. Killing them just to satisfy my tastebuds is cruel and is opposite of what I learnt in Dharma.
Just being a vegetarian itself already has many benefits but being a vegan has even more benefits such as as stated in the article that people who are vegans are eight times more protected against cancer.
This article just adds on further to the hundreds of reasons why leaving animals to live freely out in the fields and eating a meatless diet is a good thing to do, not just for the sake of saving animals from being slaughtered but also for our own health and wellbeing. it is also good for the environment as less harmful chemicals and pollution from slaughterhouses are released into the environment.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing!
There are tons of benefits being a vegan. Studies show that getting 4 to 6 servings of vegetables every day may reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, obesity, and even cancers.
Besides, there are some interesting statistics shown on the impact to our planet due to high meat consumption. For example, 100 to 200 times more water to raise a pound of beef than it does to raise a pound of plant foods; cut down the consumption of a kilo of beef saves 15,000 liters of water. 70% of the grains grown in the US are to feed livestock and it is estimated that 700 million tons of food that could be consumed by human each year has gone to livestock.
Also, cutting down meat consumption to within accepted health guidelines could cut global greenhouse gas emissions by nearly a third by 2050, while widespread adoption of a vegetarian diet would bring down emissions by 63%. Besides, all the deforestation, overfishing and pollution caused by meat and fish industries limit the capacity of the Earth to produce food. There is not enough land on the planet to raise enough meat to feed everyone by year 2050 and we might not be able to cope with the pollution too by then.
Therefore, by changing our eating habit to vegan, not only help us to be healthier, it also helps to conserve water & energy, to free up more land for raising animals and for the animals’ food too. Let’s start now to save our planet!
Wow vegan blood is potent! Everybody knows vegetables are good for you. From the time we were kids till forever, mother would always say “eat more vegetables”.
Nowadays, vegetarianism is viewed more of a modern lifestyle, not a religious leaning, more so in the west.
In some societies, at least I know of some of these traditional-minded people, they still think meat is a sign of wealth. So if you go for a dinner and you order little meat or no meat, they look at you with a frown and twisted mouth as if you are a real scrooge. They conclude either you are very stingy or frugal or poor. It’s a poor man’s meal.
If they host a dinner, to show off their wealth, they serve many meat dishes and hardly any vegetables, as meat is expensive and vegetables are cheap comparatively. This is as if to say they are rich and very generous.
This is definitely a game changer.. a lifestyle change for those who prefers eating meat over vegetables and fruits.
Definitely worth to share this knowledge to all vegans or vegetarians to keep up with the commitments and live towards a cancer free life!
Going green definitely keeps immunity higher.
It is great to learn that through scientific researched it has proven the blood from vegan is 8 times More Protective Against Cancer. This can encourage more people to go on plant-based diet for a long and healthy life. By doing so we can practise compassion for other living beings by not consuming animals meat. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this informative article.
It was a new discovery in cancer treatment. Everyone has a perception on vegetarian or vegan is lack of many nutrients in their daily diet which will cause many diseases. After this research, many people will change their mindset to become no meat in their daily diet or vegetarian. Guru always advocate to be vegetarian because no living beings deserve to be killed.
Thanks Guru for precious teachings.
Jason
It is always a joy to read the latest breakthrough in scientific findings on the benefits of plant-based diet. Plant-based diet not only directly lessen the suffering of animals, and indirectly reduce waste and pollution to the environment and earth that we are living in, NOW, it is proven to be beneficial to our body. Rejoice to the many people who had already taken on a plant-based diet and I hope many more will be inspired by news like this to adopt a plant-based diet. Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
This encouraging, as it has been shown, vegetarians often have longer healthier lives with less serious illnesses. I can’t say a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle is for everyone, but this should encourage people to cut down on meat consumption and get their vitamins, minerals, and proteins from fruits and veggies.
I personally believe in this research very much because meat is known to agitate the cancer cells in our body which most likely to cause cancer. Though many may not seem to understand, being a vegetarian in this modern era is such an important thing to do.
For fellow animal lovers, yes it’s a huge relief because less innocent lives of the animals will be taken away. As for the general public, their health condition will definitely get better. For example, look at the ocean now, full of chemicals, mercury and other harmful agents that brings great destruction to the marine life. Imagine that we have been putting all these chemicals into our body through partaking the seafood, we are killing ourselves slowly.
This is great to hear and very encouraging that the blood taken from vegans is 8 times more effective at killing cancer cells than blood taken from those following a Standard American Diet.
May more people will realize about the health benefits of vegetarianism.
Another great benefit for being a vegetarian. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article. Many people do not believe that vegetarian has many benefit. A lot of people still believe that a person will not have sufficient nutrient if we do not eat meat but not realising eating meat itself also have a lot of negative impact too.
May more people eat healthily
Hehe… good to know the health benefits of being a vegetarian though this was not the reason I became one. I hope many will realise the suffering animals endure to serve our needs and because of that make a conscious choice to become vegetarian / vegan. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the article and always finding ways to benefit us.
This research and its findings will certainly encourage people to go on a vegetarian or vegan diet for preventive or curative reasons.
There has been long debates over the benefits of being a vegetarian and even doctors do not do enough to recommend this diet to their patients but now scientists have proven that being a vegetarian or vegan has eight times more benefits fighting the “C” word, cancer in our bodies.
Fantastic proof and evidence in those videos and documented charts above.
Now, no one can doubt the benefits of consuming more vegetables versus meat, to fight ageing, illness, diseases and cancer any longer.
A great many thanks to our Rinpoche for his always caring ways and deep compassion, in wanting us to explore incorporating veganism, vegetarianism or some-meat free meals into our diet. As attestated scientists find that blood taken from vegans is 8 times more effective at killing cancer cells than blood taken from those following a standard American Diet. It is established in this article, that “a plant-based diet and regular exercises can really help improve our long term quality of life. Whatever our reasons are not for eating meat, religious or otherwise, better health and better immunity are an undeniable side benefit of going vegetarian, and all the more so, if we choose to adopt a vegan diet. Nevetheless, in this article, its scientific research proves that there are tremendous health benefits for Vegans, for the benefit of being protected against one of the top causes of premature Death! It is our fervent hope that more people will explore incorporating veganism, vegetarianism or some meat-free diet their in daily meals in support of scientific findings that going Vegan has a tremendous long term impact on one’s health!
Amazing research ……Vegan Blood is Eight Times More Protective Against Cancer. All these were proven by experiments on people placed on different diets by Scientists. There are tremendous health benefits for vegans, for instance being protected against one of the top causes of premature death.Wonderful news for vegans and these will encourage more and more people to go on vegetarian.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this informative and wonderful post.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this good news with us. Vegan diet indeed is very effective in preventing us from all these chemical or harmful hormone that in all this dairy products it is because due to the demand of all this dairy product that keep increasing so the farm cannot keep up with all this demand so they have to use all this harmful hormone to boost up the production of milk in the farm thus when we human consume it is very damaging to our body so wiser choice is to become vegan or at least a meat free diet every day.
I am glad this article was published out and this helps all vegetarians and vegans out there to stay firm with their choice of sustenance. They must be feeling happy knowing that they did not make the wrong decision. And I do hope that more people will explore incorporating veganism, vegetarianism or at least some meat-free meals/days into their diet because of this very encouraging fact. Thank you for highlighting this Rinpoche. All the more reason for people to go vegan!
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this amazing research results of how powerful Vegan blood could be on cancer cells. Even 2 weeks of going vegan has such a positive effect on killing cancer cells. It has been known that going vegetarian or going vegan is healthy for the body but this research really is an eye opener of the dietary based blood research on protection against cancer cells.
If the people who had not given up eating meat out of compassion for the animals as sentient beings, then this should be a very strong encouragement for people to stop eating meat. Living a life healthy is better than living a life full of sickness due to attachment to the meat of another being.
Scientific research has shown that blood from vegans is 8 times more protective against cancer. This puts to rest the popular belief that a meatless diet (and especially a vegan diet) is lacking in necessary nutrients for the body, and hence less healthy. On the contrary, a vegan diet has more health benefits and contributes to a higher immunity of the body against diseases like cancer.
In a two-week study on the effects of a plant based diet and light exercises on the blood of breast cancer patients , it was found that both significantly slowed down the growth of cancer, as well as increase the blood’s ability to kill cancer cells. It was also found that the plant-based diet alone had twice as much power to kill cancer cells as the light exercises.
Well non-meat eaters, especially vegans ,take heart. You are on the right track! A plant-based diet and regular exercise can definitely help improve our quality of life long term.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing a very details article about how is benefiting become Vegan. Vegan is not bout spiritual path only, it can benefits on how we care for animal lives, environmental care, health, become less aging, and good digestion.
Our inner body are alcaline, meats are alcaline. That’s how it created a lots of sickness when our body is imbalance.
Hence, now this is the significant of Scientists found blood in Vegan is 8 times more protective against cancer cells.
This is such a good news for Vegan. Basically most of the studies found that the body is more acidic when eating animal protein. The more acidic the body, the faster rates of degeneration. Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg discovered that cancer grows in blood that is acidic, and receive a Nobel Prize in 1931. And both vegan and plant based diets tend to balance an overly acidic body. Furthermore you are selfish when you choose to eat animals because you support killing of innocent sentient animals. For those meat eater, I suggest you view the factory farming of animals, it may change the way of your life when you see how all this animals suffer before show up on your plate. And I hope there will be more research on vegans and plant based diets.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the information.
It is when I first got a job working in an organic shop that I discovered that cancer patients need to go through a whole 360 change in lifestyle especially when it comes to their diet. They cannot eat meat as meat is acidic and will encourage the cancer cells to grow further. In other words it is the cancer cell’s food.
Hence, cancer patients need to ensure that their blood is not acidic but rather more alkaline so that will “starve” the cancer cell and hence prevents it from spreading. So in a way I not surprise to see this news that it is way better for us to become vegan to prevent ourselves from getting cancer or lowering the chance of it. But to say it is 8 time more protective, now that is new news and an extremely good one!
So many people get cancer so easily these days and I 100% certain it mostly contributed by our diet and the lifestyle we live in. We a spoilt with so much choices these days, there really is many or any good excuse why we cannot be vegan or vegetarians, for our own health sake if not for the animals. If we have cancer but still eat meat, unless the doctor says we absolutely must, we are just basically taking things or rather our life for granted.
Thank you Rinpoche for this informative article. It is surprising that a vegan blood id eight times more protective towards cancer. Currently I have been consuming more vegetarian food when I’m not holding vegetarian vow compared to last time. I guess the best to a healthy lifestyle is to eat healthy.
With folded palms,
Vivian
Dear Vivian thank you for your comment. I was surprised myself when I read this article. Not so much with the fact that vegan blood is provide more defence to cancer. But the fact that science finding is in line with the law of karma – those who do not kill or cause any physical suffering to other beings will live a long healthy life. It is amazing how the law of karma is scientifically proven.
