WORLD’S BIGGEST VEGAN GROCER!
Wow! Viva La Vegan Grocery is the largest vegan grocery stall on Earth! The whole store does not sell a single meat product… and they do not even accept refined white sugars unless they are certified for vegans!
Viva La Vegan grocery is a grocery in Rancho Cucamonga, California. They have stated that they would not sell or make profit off meat. Co-created by Isaak Iftikhar, this vegan grocery is spreading across various parts of America… one even starting in Santa Monica, called Viva La Vegan Express! They have also been going global through the internet by having a recipe forum, online shopping page and an events page.
This initiative to create a vegan grocer is extremely beneficial to not only to the customer’s health, but it also educates the customers on animal rights and their website tells us that all races, creeds and even species deserve to be equal.
This is very exciting, wish we could have this in more countries!!! It will be extremely beneficial to the planet and will encourage a healthier lifestyle.

VIVA LA VEGAN GROCER
Don’t live near Cucamonga? Never fear. In an effort to encourage the growth consuming animal-free products beyond the bounds of their store, they have also established an online shopping page, a recipe forum, and an events page. On the 11th, 12th, and 13th of October, they will be holding a series of special launch events to celebrate the opening of their first store in Santa Monica, Viva La Vegan Express.
In an official statement, Iftikhar clearly outlines the company’s vision for both the Cucamonga and the Santa Monica store: “Viva La Vegan Grocery was established for the sole purpose of ending the unnecessary suffering and exploitation, the adversities to our natural environment, and the impact to human health as a result of the consumption of animals. … Our store gives living form to the ethical idea that a grocery store can be free from all animal products. Any economic gain from the revenue/profit is for the primary purpose of advancing Veganism and not for personal concentrated wealth. We support vegan principles as they prevail over self-interest.”
The expansion of “the largest vegan grocery store” on Earth – from one branch to two –should give conscious shoppers many reasons to be hopeful. In recent years, the idea eating consciously is gaining more and more recognition within mainstream society, and us green monsters no longer have to “search in vain” for delicious and ethically produced foods, as Light and Sun once did.

This is an amazing news for vegetarian and vegan eaters in California. I strongly believe it a great move to encourage more people to be vegan. Choosing a vegan lifestyle can contribute many beneficial factors to one’s life.
A vegan diet is the most beneficial to mankind as it is one of the healthiest diets in the world, it is the world’s most environmentally friendly diet. Many vegans have found themselves starving while they are traveling and not being able to find any foods free of animal products on the road and this will be very convenient.
Thank you for the interesting sharing, Hope to hear and see more countries could have Vegan Grocery. It will be extremely beneficial to the planet and will encourage a healthier lifestyle.
The idea of vegan grocery is inspiring, although we dont have much kind of this store nowadays, but its a good start! People will feel curious what is selling inside, they will explore and found good things like plant-based products. Its a good way to approach and educate the public about vegan, to know the possibility they can achieve a little by little.
It’ nice to see more and more vegetarian supplies in many countries. This also show that many people are getting more aware of the benefit of becoming vegan/vegetarian. Those days becoming vegetarian is not easy especially in getting food from outside. Many people would not want to think of how the meat coming from and they always think of that the existing of animals is to serve as food to humans.
Much later more people realize the benefit of becoming vegetarian/vegan which actually not only about compassion but as well as a health concern.
The vegan grocer is wonderful and make us convenient. May we see more and more such vegan grocerie store around the world.
As more people are aware of how animals are cruelly killed, how much resources are wasted to keep the animals, more people have made a choice to change to a vegan diet. Another reason is that people are also more aware of how meat is harmful to our health.
It is nice to know a supermarket that specialises in vegan products has opened its door to give people a healthier choice. Not only more supermarkets like this are opening, but more companies are also investing in producing plant-based products to replace meat. Some of the plant-based products have a texture and even a taste of meat. This will entice people to change their diet.
I wish to see a vegan supermarket opens its door in Malaysia. Sometimes people don’t change their diet because they cannot find the replacement or the choices are very little. But I believe as more people are more aware of the disadvantages of consuming meat, the trend will change.
A heaven for those who engage in vegan diet and those who do not support animal testing in their product. This is a great move to encourage more people to be vegan by having a supermarket that is so convenient. What more is that the products are available online too . Hopefully more shops or supermarket of such be made available not only in California but other parts of the world.
Wonderful! It’s great to know where we can find vegan/vegetarian foods and products. Hopefully Malaysia will have more of these kind of products for our convenience.
Thank you Rinpoche and blog team for this article. _/\_
Wow …..what a place to have every thing so convenience to get all the vege or vegan foods . Good for the people living aroundthe area that continue to support this awesome vegan business. Its show that more people are going on vegetarian or vegan for their own health benefit.
At the time of writing this comment ,it seem these biggest vegan grocer has closed and moved to another place.
But glad that more vegan grocery is spreading across various parts of America to cater for people living in other parts.
Here in Malaysia we can only find vegetarian or vegan food at corner of bigger shopping mall.Thats good enough too as more people are more health conscious.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing these wonderful vegan grocer.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article. This is an amazing news for vegetarian and vegan eaters in California. Of course we do hope that more and more shop like these will open in Malaysia so that we would have hard time searching for vegetarian food to eat. Sometimes really out of idea of what to eat. By being a vegetarian whether it is short term or long term, one is practising compassion and non-killing. With this, many farm animals will be saved.
With folded palms,
Vivian
Heaven on earth… wished we had this chain in Malaysia!!!
Wish we had Tofurky and more variety of veggie patties! Well only way is to create the DEMAND for it… so they’ll be supply and less supply in the meat industry! If you have stores like this, it is so easy for people to convert to being more vegetarians and eat less meat and some to convert does not seem inconvenient.
真的非常感謝仁波切的分享,能知道有间号称世界最大的素食超市,真希望這裡也有一间這樣的超市,使人们有更多的素食品选择,近而影响身边的人,成为素食者。
Lets eat in such a way that it benefits the planet and may no animal or any sentient being has to suffer from our eating habits. The cries of animals is a form of negative energy, and these negative energy keeps on circulating in our planet, how can we have peace and prosperity on this planet when we have so much energy of anguish and anger within our planet.
This is a very good place, because being vegetarian is actually healthier than eating meat, there are many substitutes for meat that provide more nutrition and more protein. There are also no animals killed, there should be more places like this. Thank you for sharing Rinpoche
I think that its great! Because it shows that there are still people who understand and support vegansin. Being a vegetarian doesn’t only give you vitamins but also provide you good health. It would be so cool if they have this in Malaysia, i’m quite sure that it will receive good feedbacks . Thank you for sharing Rinpoche.
Really Thank You Very Much for sharing,Rinpoche! have been searching high and low for this vegan stuff for ages. Glad to know that at least its somewhere on Earth. Just wish that there’s one such store here too.Best Wishes! _/\_
I am extremely excited to see such a thing exist in one part of the world. However, I would really like to see the same happen in Malaysia. That would make me feel ecstatic. It would be so cool to buy vegetarian foods from a set location instead of having to rummage through the small vegetarian section of a large grocery store.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this information. I think is such a good idea to open a store like thus to encourage the people about animals right I guess some people do not really know what happen to this animals that they eat everyday . Store like this will encourage more people to be vegan.
Great to know that there are people who care enough to open a vegan store not only to benefit human race but also help save innocent lives. I wonder how does it look inside, it’s good to have a beneficial store. Thank You for sharing Rinpoche.
Dear Rinpoche, I feel really happy because less animals are getting killed and vegan is spreading throughout the world already. I really wish that the company could build many branches throughout the world then vegans won’t have to worry about accidentally eat meat and if one day, they really opened a few branches in Malaysia then I can also enjoy what vegan food they have. Just commenting on this blog makes me really hungry. Lol.
