Watching the video tells a us a powerful message, go on meatless, vegetarian or vegan is the best choice to live a healthy lifestyle. Choosing a vegetarian diet is inherently healthful because vegetarians consume less animal fat and cholesterol . Nowadays more people are health conscious as they have seen animals been killed in a cruel way. Social media have sent out a powerful message eating meat is bad for health and many related diseases are the main cause of it. Go green to be healthy, nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on earth by eating meat. Eating a healthy diet high in fruit, vegetables and whole grains, will be good for our health. By reducing demand of meat we can safe animals from the slaughter house.
Thank you Rinpoche, for sharing this video with us.
Very interesting video which bring a very powerful message to all. A healthy environment goes hand-in-hand with a healthy lifestyle. People are consuming more meat and daily livestock nowadays Forest has be cleared in order to grow crops , rearing cattle and so forth. It has a negative impact on the environment. The most dramatic impact is a loss of habitat for millions of species. Eating a plant-based diet or reducing our consumption of animal products like meat and dairy can help to save forests as well as save livestock. What we can do is encourage people to live in a way that doesn’t hurt the environment and animals. Have compassion for all animals ,stays healthy by been on vegetarian or at least meatless .
Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.– Mahatma Gandhi
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing his video with us.
It became very clear to me that animals provide for many things in our life (food, clothes, medicine from their body parts, etc), they are also used to test products that we consume & use, as well as being an object of our entertainment or an object of affection (pet). Yet, as human, we are an ungrateful species that continuously find ways to exploit them only because they are weaker and helpless in comparison. Humans bite the hands that feed.
The right thing to do is to stop consuming meat and meat-base products as well as any products that are tested on animals. By reducing demand, we send a clear message to the suppliers. Meat industry, fur / animal skin fashions and the testings on animals are a product of the over-developed consumerism in recent decades, as human’s desire had evolved & yearned for all things easy. We should look into our conscious and ask ourselves if our overindulgence is justified. Thank You very much, Rinpoche, for sharing this video with us.
The more we research, read, discover, the more logical it is for us humans to switch to being vegetarians/vegans. It only makes sense if we want to live a healthy life and it only makes sense if we say we “love” animals and it only make sense if we want our planet to last longer. It is amazing how we are the only species on this planet that can create so much self-destruction and then spend trillions to fix it, yet some things can never be fixed once gone. Instead of spending so much money fixing it, and so much money actually creating the harm – having livestock industry, wouldn’t it be wiser to use all that billions to feed the poor, the starving population all around the world, to improve infrastructure in those countries? But it seems human greed is stronger and the need to satisfy our taste buds (not even our stomachs) wins the day.
As long as there are people demanding for meat, there is going to be such industries. Advertising and sharing more info to create such awareness is so necessary especially to the younger generation who are impressionable. We should reach out to influential youths, college kids, uni students, celebrities and so on to create a constant voice. The switch is a long struggle but it is a worth while one especially if we want our children to live on this planet knowing what is nature, and living harmoniously and consciously with mother nature.
First of all thank you Rinpoche share this awareness . I’m surely share it to my FB friends. I reducing meat eating step by step. Is there any proper way for balance diet from switching to vegan? I been doing for few weeks. I keep on reminding myself go for vegan. sometime i find myself healthy is getting weaker that b4. The best thing is start from education base. Current situation school does not recognize this all matters. Even balance trigram is wrong in a first place until found a good doctor told us so. The earthling movie show it all. More guidance and proper education must implant immediately. Let start this fundamental from home.
The message in the video is just so strong. And the picture below is terrible. I never knew that people would actually go to the extend that they wanted to put a bear with meat so that people would buy the meat. Terrible…
Recently, I found a video that says eating meat causes global warming. Until I see this post, I realized that it’s true. We are the ones who cause global warming, we are endangering ourselves in the disasters just for the sake of our taste buds. And therefore we can’t blame anyone as we make that happen.
I am speechless, 1 person die somewhere around the world in every 2 seconds! Why can’t we share a bit of our money to the who is starving so that they can buy what they need to live. When I was about 6 years old, whenever I see beggars, I will give them almost all of my lunch money. Because when I see them laying on the floor begging for money is like watching a poor animal being beaten up and I will never want any sentient being to look like that. So please help peoples and animals who are weak, help each other so that every sentient can live in peace.
This video tells of a story that should appeal to everyone as there are so many positive dimensions to be had by making one simple decision. If one cannot feel for the animals being mistreated and then slaughtered for food, and if one cannot see the madness in forgoing feeding 16 people for sake of one pound of meat (often left unfinished, then surely one should see that the decision to go vegan is a decision to save oneself and the environment we all live in.
In the end, global warming and other environmental catastrophes will not discriminate between countries where unfinished meat dishes are thoughtlessly thrown away and countries where there is not even a grain of rice.
We all live on the same planet and we are ALL connected. Think of how AIDS spread, recall how quickly SARS became pandemic, remember how an earthquake in one far-away country devastated lives thousands of miles away.
Imagine what one simple decision can do.
Thank you for this post Rinpoche.
Dear Rinpoche, Thank you for sharing this, I have posted to my friends and my facebook. I believe awareness is key for people to really let it sink-in that eating meat is not the right way and creates so much suffering. Thank you for your prayers and for your compassion for the animals who have no voices.
Love,
Dawnene
That would be wonderful if you re-post it again and again to CREATE AWARENESS. We can do something just sitting in front of our PC’s..so why not. Thanks alot.
Dear Rinpoche, i have forwarded to my family, friends, business contacts. I pray they will watch the video, think on it and start including less meat in their diet and then go all the way. When i see meat nowadays, for example, chicken, the first picture that flashes in front of me is the video of those chickens who cant even stand because they have been fed on hormones to make them grow fat quickly for profit. So repetitive messages sent makes an imprint and has helped me to start being more conscious of my food choices. I am shocked at the photo of the meat and beer packs on sale in the supermarket – what happened to business etiquette? Thank you for sharing the video and the photos. Thank you very much for praying for me.
Dear Rinpoche,
I sent out a mass email to my family, friends and customers. I also posted on facebook and twitter. I hope they will find the time to watch this video and I hope it will inspire more people to be vegetarian.
Going meatless is one way we can help save the environment and save the many animals from going to the slaughter houses.
Much love and prayers
Patsy
Dear Rinpoche
Thank you for sharing this video. I am lucky to find it when the internet connection is good. I have sent the link to at least 10 of my friends.
Please kindly pray for me. In the Lama Tsongkhapa website that will go live on 24 October (your birthday), there will be a section on animal protection program, hopefully it will inspire more people to go vegan.
Much love
Valentina
I see clearly that education is the problem here. Education can break habituation, education is a stronger force. People don’t want to do wrong, but they are ignorant of what’s right. The problem I see is that when confronted with the truth, people cannot, or refuse to change negatives into positives. What stands in the way of strong education seems to be ‘special interest’ groups bombarding the public all over the world, that meat is what you eat! Your parents and grandparents ate it, and it’s what your gonna eat too, don’t ask why!
The dilemma of teaching/educating habituated people… I’m sure that is the lament of every good teacher…
PS: If I may be so very bold, I must mention that the last picture of the meat packaged up with the pint of beer used to make sense to me. Toward the time when I was almost vegetarian, I wanted to numb my brain with some beer before I ate flesh-meat so I wouldn’t think about it too much. Pretty sick… You want truth, there you go. So now I don’t eat meat, but I drink 2x a week or so. I’m getting bored of being stupid though, I think I will stop soon.
