SCAA! Shanghai Cat, Dog & Pet Adoption have been doing a great job, finding homes for animals such as dogs, cats. SCAA is a private, non-profit organization taken over 1,000 cats and dogs off the streets in Shanghai. Operating entirely off donations, there are literally 1,000s of cats and dogs in Shanghai on the lookout for a new home. They have been rescuing, fostering and helping animals in Shanghai get adopted by families. As well as adoption, SCAA educates on and advocates for animal welfare and offers medical care. That’s wonderful , thumbs up for them. Give them care, love and a home .
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
I like it how they put up a big sign on their website that reads: ‘DON’T BUY PETS’. Each and every animal is the same, example dogs. The dogs that are sold in the pet shops, are dogs; the ones that stay in the shelter, are dogs as well. If you really love animals, you will accept their backgrounds, they all share the same thing- life. They are lives as well, so what’s with the double-standard thingy? Just because dogs that stay in shelters are not cute? Or not hygienic?
Its so nice to have such a nice place to keep animals. And so that people can come and bring them home is really nice. I too hope the best for SCAA in growth and too further success. I hope that they will save more animals, and they will also bring out more animals for adoption. And may animals all around the world all have homes because of amazing people like this.
The animals we normally take as our pets and companions are dogs, cats and birds. In Malaysia I think there are not much awareness as in the Western countries where marjority of people have awareness for the abandoned, sick or stray animals or birds. When Compassion is in the heart of anyone. They will always feel the neglect, the pain and suffering of others not only humans but animals too. As animals have what a human has. I think the people who are vegetarians and non meat eaters are the ones who can feel for the animal as they would feel the same thing that is happening to the animal.
People can TRANSFORM their HEARTS to become more loving by being kind to animals, for a start. i pray that SCAA will be successful! i just watched the news a few minutes ago – some very kind people in Sacramento, i think, (the Mandarin- speaking newsreader said something that sounded like that) had just successfully performed surgery on a poor sea-lion, to close up two gaping holes (gunshot wounds) on its cheeks. Now the poor creature can eat properly! i was so moved by the people around the animal who consoled it, like it was a FELLOW HUMAN BEING! Felt like crying. OM MANI PADME HUNG ~ may we all be compassionate!
