A Tiny Place In Bali
Dear friends around the world,
I have visited Bali with my dharma friends years back to look for outdoor Buddhas. But I didn’t see any of these places while I was there. I am amazed at the architecture, ambiance and aesthetics of these guest rooms. Which one do you like? I like number 6 and 13. What about you? I like the greens and woodsy feeling very much.

There’s A Tiny Place In Bali. What You’ll See Here Is Beyond Extraordinary
Situated in the rolling green forests in Ubud, Bali, is the Bambu Indah hotel, a specialty boutique hotel that features 13 special ‘Houses’, each unique and special in their own amazing way.
Udang House means “Shrimp House”

This house is situated at the source of the fresh water fountain that supplies the natural pool.

Situated above a fresh shrimp pond, this house has tempered glass floor panels for an underwater panorama of crustaceans in action. Authentic shrimp baskets have been converted into lamps for a total fishing village experience.

Absolutely stunning.
Absolutely stunning.

There is so much beauty in imperfection… the Japanese call this “wabi sabi”

The home offers an unparalleled experience to commune with nature.

The glass tiled roof of the bathroom allows entry of both the light of day and the Bali moon at night–an exquisite experience to bring the weary traveller back to life.

I prefer Shrimp House and Kolam House, Rinpoche. I like living near pond or lake. Whereas the Pagoda House is the most unique I think.
Good to know the stunning Ubud, Bambu Indah hotel of Bali. A greenery forest built hotel with bamboos. It’s look like a perfect destination spot for those who love the nature, I think it a small paradise of earth. Although it look very rustic but caters a lot of comfort. Looking amazingly, uniquely designed with extra ordinary features. The entire hotel is built in Javanese concept with beautiful landscaping and exotic view.
A wonderful place to enjoy, relax and to experience. I think the food here must be marvelous . Perfectly to say this place is an absolute and a fantastic holiday destination it to visit Bali. I wish to plan for a holiday here and thanking you for sharing and posting this wonderful place.
Bali is rich in architecture and art. I went there for holiday once and was amazed by the unique style of their shops, houses and temples. They are very creative community. This hotel in Ubud is very beautiful too. So cosy, natural and yet modern. All types of rooms are nice.
Awesome and stunning …architectual design features. All very special and unique to look at and amazing in away they are built close to nature environment. I loves the Pagoda House .There’s such a tiny place in Ubud Bali the Bambu Indah hotel, and yet so beautiful ,whereby anyone can relax and have a nice quiet holiday.
Thank you rinpoche for sharing.
Bali is a hopelessly romantic place where it offers lots of handicraft in a raw and authentic form. Ubud is renown for the handicraft in the form of wood work, painting, and even metal work. But this tiny place called the Bambu Indah is truly impressive and surpassed the common architectures. The Pagoda House with the glass walls blends traditional and modern into one. Such clever design! Thank you, Rinpoche, for this sharing.
I love this cosy little place in Bali. Looks very simple, peaceful and serene. And the architechture is very unique. My ideal place to live in if water is not an issue for me for my daily personal things. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this beautiful place.
I like the shower in Udang House, Biru House and Elora & Orin House. And that huge ceiling-to-floor window in the study of the third last photo…it’s incredible.
Architecture and construction work best when they respect the elements and environment, instead of trying to work against them. And the Balinese are SO good at bringing the outdoors, indoors without making it look contrived and overly modern (to the point of losing the Balinese touch). I’m not so keen on the Tibetan prayer flags hanging above the sink in the second last photo though!
Pictures of such places resonate with me a lot. People do want to connect with natural surroundings and places.
Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing. Designs of the Hotel are so unique and close to the nature. It will be so nice to do the retreat there.
Lovely place for vacation.. I love the one with a pond at the bottom of the room. I will be steering at the fish the whole night and get very exciting to stay in that room. hhahaha… I also like the one that has a pond outside the room and people can walk on the big stones to enter the room.. Feel like some where in the forest which hugs by the nature. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the beautiful pictures.
In the North of Thailand they can copy any statue you want in wood, any dimension! My cousin has ordered some Buddhas there before, if it is wood you want they can make the Buddhas from an image, or various images.

Wow! This place is stunning! It looks super cozy judging from the images and I have also been to Bali in the past, and from what I know Bali is an amazing place to be. It is truly relaxing and in my opinion, is one of the best places to go for a holiday. Thank you for sharing the images with us Rinpoche.
OMG! This place is just awesome! Thank You so much for sharing Rinpoche, the place is amazing! I think this is the perfect place for vacation and relaxation. I really love the tempered glass that allows us to look into the waters, this place is heaven! Lol
Dear Rinpoche, I love all of the houses especially the first one and last one. The Pagoda house looks really really awesome. The only thing to worry about is when there is a earthquake, everything will collapse and furniture will crush on you. About the first house, it will be fun to take baths in the pool since the water in the pool is clean.
Really amazing design. Very creative and bring out the culture of Bali.
The guest houses are very interesting and unique. I like the Pagoda House with the large glass windows looking out to the lush green surrounding outside. It’s interesting also as one of the rooms is decorated with Tibetan prayer flags in a Balinese deco!
Yes there are still so many places in today’s World yet to be explored which are as picturesque and scenic with breath-taking views, or with buildings of unique aesthetic style or with architectural design so out of this world! Like what has been described in this “Tiny place in Bali”, each structual is unique and special in their own amazing way, but with building so filled with artistic extra-ordinaryness, where the splendour of art and glory is so well combined in an admirable balance of attractiveness. It’s truly out of this world for me. Thank you so much for your sharing, Rinpoche.
Very nice and the design look very Balinese . Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful place.
Dear Rinpoche,
What a beautiful and stunning place the Bambu Indah Hotel is!
It would be wonderful to be able to stay in this place for just one night…. every part of the hotel just seems so close to nature outside that unless you walk outside you can get no closer to the breathtaking scenery.
Picking which one is the best is seriously tough as they are all equally amazing and it would be wonderful to stay in anyone of the Villas!
I really love how everything is done so creatively that though all the villas are equipped with all the lavish modern amenities it also makes you feel that you are living in a traditional style village house.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing about this wonderful place!

Dear Rinpoche,
Bali is really a very nice place. The people there are mostly Hindus. They are so friendly. The boutique hotel is really exquisite. The rooms are so nicely planned out. Really have the feeling of close to nature.
Will love to visit there. Ubud area sells very nice arts and crafts items. Will love to visit.

These houses are so unique! It is nature and yet modern. I like the Pagoda house. Because amongst these house, this one is the special one with “Tibetan” flags in the room.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the beautiful architecture from the guest rooms found in Bali. I like the room no. 4 where the fish will be swimming around while I do my daily sadhana if I have the chance to stay in that room.
